Videos with 1 soundtrack

I have videos in my itunes library which i share with other macs on my network. Many of the videos have multiple soundtracks (different language versions). When these are played back in itunes all the soundtracks play back simultaneously which is just a mess. Does anyone know a way to specify the soundtrack that is played?
When playing back of the same files using Quicktime, it is possible to go into the movie properties (cmd J) and disable all but the sound track you want to hear. iTunes does not appear to have this functionality.

The most you can do in itunes is re-import them with only one language.

Using FinalCut Express 4.0.1 with Soundtrack

I am just curious to know if I am able to use FinalCut Express 4.0.1 with the included Soundtrack software that was packaged with FinalCut Express 3.5HD. The school that I teach at has 3.5HD (w/ Soundtrack). I am trying to get my school to upgrade to 4.0.1, as we purchased new video cameras that support AVCHD. I just would like to know if we can still use Soundtrack, as I have developed mountains of curriculum based on this software. If this is possible, are there any noticeable disadvantages/slowdowns to my workflow, or can I still use the option to open clips in the external editor which then moves me to Soundtrack. Any help would be great!

Soundtrack still works as a separate application. Without knowing exactly what you're doing with Soundtrack it's difficult to say. You can still assign it as an external editor.

FCP Does NOT do Surround Sound.
You will need to Edit your project as normal in FCP.
When you're edit is complete you will export your Audio to SoundTrack Pro where you will complete your Surround Sound Audio Mix.RightClick your Audio on the timeline > Send To Soundtrack

Problem Exporting slideshow with soundtrack in LR3.

I am trying to export a slideshow for a homework assignment. When exporting video with "pictures only" it exports just fine. When I add a soundtrack I receive:

I have exported a slideshow with music before and never had problems with it. What can I do to fix the problem?

After much research, I discovered that iTunes can create a compatible .m4a file
in iTunes, highlight the Voice Memo you want to convert, then select Advanced...Create AAC Version.
This will convert the file and create a .m4a file of the same name.
Unfortunately, it is not in the same directory, and iTunes gives no feedback as to where it is.
Nor does it list it in the VoiceMemo playlist in iTunes.
I found it in iTunes\Music\Music\My iPod\Voice Memos\
My sincere thanks to Dan Tull of Adobe for giving me the clues I needed to sort this out.
He has also flagged a bug report so hopefully future versions of LR will handle this situation more gracefully.

Workflow ? with Soundtrack

I've looked through manuals, searched through boards, and here I am.
So excuse me if I'm missing the obvious, but I'm getting that numb feeling in my eyes right now.
So...
How does one have it so that the video edits you make in a FCP file are reflected in the STP file?
1) I lay first edits down and send to multi track project in STP with video
2) Work in STP, export mix
3) Import mixed file in FCP and replace all audio tracks with mixed file
4) Re-edit video
5) Want to open new video in STP with "open in editor" command
BUT it doesnt work
only the old video is there
do i need to export the video and then just import it in STP every time, or is there a way so that the STP file will have the reflected video edits?
When working with protools I got used to having to export a new video edit every time and then re-importing it into the audio session.
Do I have to do this with the FCP/STP workflow as well?
Any help would be appreciated.

export the video track out of fcp
open your soundtrack project
go to the browser in soundtrack and find the file you just made from FCP
drag that into the video track
now you have your new video with your old soundtrack project

Voice Over with Soundtrack Pro

I have spent about 8 hours on this and can't figure out how to voice over with Soundtrack Pro. I could do it with Soundtrack but something is different with this new version. I have not used StP that much, so I am relying on you pros out there to get me started in the right direction! Thanks everyone for your help.

I see all movies and music available to be sync but when I click on the sync button, the process starts, the bottom bar shows an increase in consumed space then nothing happens and the bar goes back as nothing was added.

No. Photo stream only streams photos, not videos. To transfer videos between your devices you can either import them to iTunes and sync them, or (more conveniently) use an app like PhotoSync or Bump.

How do I import AVI video with stereo audio (and keep it that way)?

Today I just discovered that all the AVI video with stereo audio I've ever imported into a Premiere Pro CS6 project has been mysteriously converted to mono. And I can't find any import setting anywhere that enable me to change this.
Here's the deal...
I've have an AVI file with stereo audio (the file is actually a stereo sound test that I downloaded to prove that I wasn't imagining things). On my hard drive, I right-click and view the properties:
Video
Length: 00:00:36
Frame width: 320
Frame height: 240
Frame rate: 25 frames/second
Audio
Bit rate: 128kbps
Channels: 2 (stereo)
Audio sample rate: 44 kHz
I click on it to play and listen with headphones--everything is playing in the correct part of the stereo spectrum. Then, I import it to Premiere, click the file name in the left content menu, and check the properties, suddenly they read:
Type: AVI Movie
File Size: 1.1 MB
Image Size: 320 x 240
Frame Rate: 25.00
Source Audio Format: 11025 Hz - 16 bit - Mono
Project Audio Format: 11025 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Mono
Total Duration: 00:00:36:15

Sure enough, I drag it into the sequence, listen to it, and it's indeed playing mono. Outside of Premiere, the original source file still reads and plays correctly with stereo sound.
When I import stereo WAVs and MP3s, it keeps the original stereo channels without me having to do anything special. I even just imported the same exact file as a MOV with stereo audio, and it showed up in Premiere as:
Source Audio Format: 44100 Hz - 16 bit - Stereo
Project Audio Format: 44100 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo
What is going on here with AVIs? Am I doing something wrong? Are there settings I'm missing somewhere?
(And before anyone suggests I only use MOV in the future... that's not exactly the answer I'm looking for.)

For video, the codec is MPEG-4 Video (XVID) and for audio it says MPEG Audio Layer 1/2/3 (mpga).
There are two issues with that file:
The first is the Xvid CODEC (not meant for editing), and then the MPEG Audio/MPGA. I would convert that file, to something that is more editable.

How can I create a video with effects (sepia, B&W, Negative, oval or any other shape borders) using my ipad? I would Like to keep a higher res and also be able to shrink it down to email or send in a MMS. Or should I just upload it to my PC and mess with it there? Some of the apps I have are very easy to use compared to the learning curve needed for video editing software.

Thats the Problem . . . how many apps do I have to try until I find the one I want? I noticed a few will render the video thus losing its original size. When I went to edit it more in iMovie the video was smaller--not good. And what software do you suggest, Templeton, for the PC? I love the apps because they are easy. I dont have hours to mess around on a software to figure out if its something I want. Im looking for simplicity. Maybe Ill get more into it later. I just want to record simple video of my playing the guitar for self analysis and create a short video for family and friends.

Not entirely sure what you mean, but if it's that you want to download and install flash then you can't - it is not supported on the iPad (http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/). Browser apps such as Skyfire claim to support flash bu their reviews are mixed. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store, so you could check to see if any of your favoutrite sites have apps.
