Videos won't play properly with Windows Vista

Hi there,
I recently installed iTunes on my new computer, which is running Windows Vista Home Premium. After transferring my library over I tried to play a video to test it out, but found that the videos were all extremely choppy. I installed new video drivers for my video card (Nvidia 8800 GT), made sure I had the latest version of iTunes (7.2.0.35) and went through most of the steps in this troubleshooting article:

I didn't perform the last two steps (Modify your System Drive Configuration and Disable Readyboost) because I didn't see "the IDE bus that contains your hard drive" and am not using a flash-based drive.
Any ideas?

After automatically updated to Firefox 3.6.15 videos won't play properly

Recently when firefox was automatically updated to 3.6.15 suddenly videos won't play properly anymore. Vidxden videos used to play really well but now they don't load properly or not at all. All the other videos take forever to load and don't seem to be compatible anymore. I usually go to the same video sites and those don't work like they used to. I've noticed as well that hotmail is really slow and many pages won't load at all including windows live web site. It doesn't appear that 3.6.15 is very compatible with video play or msn sites.

Since automatic update to 3.6.15, I am unable to play videos on abc.com, and even on my News Feed page in Facebook. The error message says the video is being blocked by an ad blocker in my browser. I have not changed my security settings, nor have I updated any other software recently.
By the way, I did check the same videos (at abc.com and on Facebook) with Internet Explorer (same computer) and they played just fine.

In addition to the material I supplied to Curt, the processor I'm using is an Intel Q 6600 running at 3.15 GHz. On the Windows experience Index which runs from 1 to 7.9. Both my CPU and RAM score 7.3. I am shooting video with a Canon 5D3 which uses the H.264 codec with a .mov file format. But my hardware does not seem to be a problem.
Yesterday I shot some video using the "IPB" compression method, and today using the "ALL-I" one frame at a time compression method and both ran perfectly fine in CS6. The video that will not play I shot in Europe with the same camera using the IPB compression. The file appears to load correctly, but if you try to move the time slider or press the diamond "start" button, the file-load Curly-Q appears and nothing happens. If you try to move the time slider, that too will hang. After some period of time, the time slider will jump forward, a new frame will appear and the file will freeze again. I did mix stills on the same memory card and subsequently corrected the "date created" time for the six-hour time difference between Europe and the US. That is the only thing that I can think of that may have caused some sort of problems. What are your thoughts?

Videos Won't Play in iTunes Under Vista Service Pack 1

While my audio podcasts play fine since installing Vista SP1, the videos do not! I get a badly flickering picture and sound and the control symbols (e.g., the x to close the video) do not show up. Full screen causes Windows to deliver a message that the Nvidia display driver has crashed and been restarted.
I redownloaded and reinstalled iTunes but it failed to fix the problem. The m4v's for these podcasts play perfectly in QuickTime.

I just upgraded my 10.5 iSight G5 iMac to iTunes 9.1.1 and the following behaviors occured:
1) The video would not stream properly: you can hear the audio, but the video does not show up (just a greayed out video box).
2) On a version of the video in my iTunes "Movies" tab, the chapter markers are 'one off'; they jump to the position of the next marker. This does not happen if I open the local movie in Quicktime Player (7.6.6).
These videos were composed in iMovie HD 6.0.4 (I know, I need iMovie '09). Exported for iPod. (I don't think this has much to do with it, myself since iTunes 9.1 had no problems with this type of file).

After I updated Adobe flash player I noticed that videos I streamed did not play correctly. A video will begin to play but part way through it will freeze. It will indicate that it is buffering but it never finishes buffering and never continues to play, even if I refresh it. This occurs for several sites such as youtube, megavideo, and wisevid. This occurs for every browser I have tried (Firefox, IE, and Opera.) I also realized today that now iTunes cannot not download video either. When I try it says that parts of the files seem to be corrupted. I have uninstalled and reinstalled flash several times but that has not helped. I am using Adobe 10.1 (under version test it says it is WIN 10,1,53,64) and I have Windows 7. I'm not sure if my computer is 32-bit or 64-bit. I don't know how to check this. to check your computer configuration, right click on mycomputer and click on properties.
There you can see if its 32 or 64 bit.
But as the flash player is working fine on IE, i assume its 32 bit.
Even i use the same configuration and its working fine on all browsers.
Is it a specific video you are trying to load?
Are you sure about your internet connection speed?

HTML5 videos won't play correctly with built-in player

1) When I try to play html5 video, firefox only shows me a few frames, and then screen become grayed and «loading» animation appears. Then it shows me next few frames, and a loading screen again. It continues until the whole video will load.
2) When it finally loads, video and sound are a little bit choppy if the video is in good quality. Other browsers play that videos without any lags or loading screens. Here's the example of one of that videos I couldn't watch normally: https://m.vk.com/video-51189706_170637645
I've looked up at memory indicator, and it showed me that I have at least 200Mbs of free RAM during the loading of these videos. Also every memory limit setting in about:config is set to -1.
I use the latest firefox version from Play Store and own an Asus TF300T tablet (nvidia tegra3 and 1Gb of RAM), so it's certainly not a lack of hardware power.
I also should note that when I watch youtube videos (with firefox, not youtube player, which I've removed), everything is fine — videos are playing and loading at the same time.

I cannot view that video however we are in the process of making some major changes to video playback on Android. Currently these changes are in our Aurora build of Firefox it can be downloaded at https://aurora.mozilla.org if you would like to see if this improves the video playback.

Can u please explain why Adobe PremierePro CS4 won'r work properly with Windows 7 Ultimate?? Is it because of a "bit" differences?? or for any other reason?? I have freezing problems on time line.. I am using Sony XD EX1 clips on the time line. Sometimes it works up to Dynamic LInk Encore and when it starts encoding, after few seconds it gives an error message "Encode failed" My computer config: WIN7 Ultimate/ Xeon 2.4 GHz, 12 GB RAM, Nvidia FX3800 Video card with 1GB RAM, C:\ 1TB SASHDD on RAID 5 system, D:\600 GB SAS HDD (not on RAID) Any thoughts to get it going? I think it's your specific browser player problem. It works
here on every IE

I have Vista (don't laugh) and my videos are transferred over when I plug in my phone. They don't open up in Winodws Picture Viewer though.
They are under my Photos, under the date created by the sync. Do a search I'm sure you'll find them.

AIM is currently posting this Info about AIM 6.5 which is the only version currently available for Vista.
Having said that about 30% of those who post about AIM here say it works but it does need allowing through the Firewall as an Exception as Steve has linked you to.
