Vies used by 0FI_AR_4 Extractor

Hi experts,
AR standard extractor 0FI_AR 4 uses the views BKPFBSAD, , BKPF_BSID.
Are these views are generally used by R/3 for any other purpose or is it specifically created for the AR Extractor.

Actually we are trying to acheive minute based Delta, There is a Note 991429, which recommends to change the views to acheive this.
so just wanted to know is these views were created by the SAP only for thse extractors....
Or is there any other way we can aceive this?

I have a requirement to enhance 0FI_AR_4 Extractor with below Fields from BSID:
Field     DataElement
PRCTR       PRCTR
VPOS2       NUM06
VBUND       RASSC
As per SAP Note: 410799, I am assuming I don't need to write any ABAP code to populate these fields.
In the extract structure DTFIAR_3 of extractor 0FI_AR_4 Double clicked on the Include CI_BSID.
It prompted "Structure CI_BSID not available. Create the structure?"
After entering Access key it created new Structure "CI_BSID".
I have entered the Component and Component Type values as below:
Component   Component Type
YYPRCTR     PRCTR
YYVPOS2     NUM06
YYVBUND     RASSC
1. Please let me know Component and Component Type values and the steps I followed are correct or not?
2. And I hope I don't need to write the code in the User exit to populate these fields?

Hi,
For any FI datasource enhancement there are two scenarios :-
1. All the fields of the customer enhancement in the customer include are available in the read structure BSID
Then no additional action is required. The fields of the customer enhancement are filled automatically by the datasource from the assigned read structure via "move-corresponding".
2. Fields of the customer enhancement in the customer include are not contained in the read structure BSID
In this case you have to program a function module to fill the field of the customer enhancement. To do this, there is a Business Transaction Event available (open FI interface for process 00005021). Create any function module you like and use function module SAMPLE_PROCESS_00005021 as a template for the interface (input parameter, changing parameter).

How to know the tables used in an Extractor?

Hi Friends,
Is there any method to find out the underlying tables used in an extractor?
For example , 2LIS_11_VAITEM datasource uses tables VBAP and VBUP( item status). For LOs we can see it in Lo **** pit. So If any extractor uses more than one table ..then how do you see those?? . If it is generic ds which is based on Functional Module, then what is the procedure other going into table tab.
Actuall i would like to know for DS of FICA Open items 0FC_OP_01 .

Hi If it is LO extractor:
Use transaction code LBWE in the R/3
Go to the extractor for which you want to see the data( Logistic app->Extractors)
Go to maintenance
You will get an option to update just click yes and then you will get option to create request.Just check the display, it will lead you top the window where you can see where all the fields are and from which table it is available.

Hi alls.. that´s my question:
Is possible to add 2 conditions in a view that is used from an extractor?
I have an extrator in R/3 that´s a table view, so i want that this filter from 2 differents fields when this has the same value.
For example:
filter when FIELD1 = ZZ or when FIELD2 = ZZ .
..different fields, but the same type of data and value!
is it possible?
When i trying to activate the view, then show me an error that this is impossible to do.

The error is :
Only be able to 'OR' connects for the same fields.
You are trying to connect with 'OR' select conditions from differents fields.

0FI_AR_4 extractor bringing zero records

Hi,
We are using extractor 0FI_AR_4 as delta. At times it is bringing zero records but the next time it brings data along with the daata missed the previous day.
For ex
Monday it brought records until previous week
Tuesday it brought zero record
Wednesday it brought more records i.e including records created on Monday and Tuesday
We could not figure out a situation when can this happen. But our observation is that there is no entry for tuesday in the table BWOM2_TIMEST.

In delta mode, data requests with InfoSource 0FI_AR_4 and InfoSource 0FI_AP_4 do not provide any data if no new extraction has taken place with InfoSource 0FI_GL_4 since the last data transfer. This ensures that the data in BW for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Accounting is exactly as up to date as the data for General Ledger Accounting.

Use of BW Extractors from SAP R/3 to a non-BW System

Hi,
We have an internally developed data warehouse. We need to extract master and transactional date from SAP R/3 to WebMethods, which will then send it to the data warehouse. Some will be full extractions, others will be delta only.
I am looking at my various options:
- Custom extract ABAP program to create either flat files or Idocs
- Oracle program based on oracle database triggers
- **** BW Extractors - My question - Can I use BW Extractors to create an Idoc or a flat file that will NOT go to a BW system? Sorry, I have no BW experience, but have been looking at RSA6, RSA3, RSO2, LBWE.
Anyone have documentation showing this?

Hi Robin,
The answer is NO. They are built primarily for BW. It simply wont work for other programs. A single mismatch in extraction logs between R/3 and BW causes unwanted ABAP Dumps.
You must device another way to harvest data out of R/3. I suggest you use Change Pointer mechanism in R/3. It is able to generate various IDOCS (Master Data and Transactional).
In the course of our R/3 implementation before, it is not an instant switch over to R/3. We need to keep our existing legacy systems up and running although the Master Data/Transaction maintenance are already in R/3 until all our branches have been converted to SAP. Change Pointers and IDOCS helped us achieve that...I think that setup is similar to yours...

Merging FI and CO data in BW using bus content extractors

Hi Guru's,
We have a requirement to report on a combination of both FI and CO data. I have most of the required info available from the 0FI_GL_4 extractor, but need some additional CO entries. These are available in the 0CO_OM_CCA_9 and 0CO_OM_OPA_6 extractors. Since there is some overlap of the data, I am looking to find a way to combine the data that does not create duplicate entries.
My initial design was to create a custom DSO with key fields which included fiscper, zcostelmnt, zdoc_num and zitem_num. I first loaded the FI data, and then both of the CO datasources. I used the custom key fields to try and generate a condition whereby I could ensure any duplicates arriving from the CO datasources would simply overwrite any data that might already exist from the FI datasource. I looked through the extractors for fields to use to identify a particular transaction uniquely if it occurred on both an FI and CO extraction, and used these values to populate into the DSO keys.
I have even looked at the BSEG (FI) and COEP/COVP (CO) tables to create append structures as necessary to pull in additional fields to assist in finding a unique combination. I am currently struggling with finding a field to use to identify a common item number between the FI and CO extractions however. I have tried these so far:

Update:
We ended up creating a custom solution in BW utilizing the standard extractors above to pull data from ECC (we added a few extra fields to permit joins to be done downstream). We used a couple staging layer DSO's to combine the data and do lookups etc before moving it into a Cube and Multiprovider.
One thing to watch for is ECC CO entries where both Cost Center and Order are populated - this can cause a rogue duplicate entry for the same transaction (it will come once from the CCA_9 and once from the OPA_6 extractors). We merged the FI and CO data in the initial staging DSO, and in the next staging DSO we corrected for conditions where both a CC and Order existed.

0FI_AR_4 extractor loaded data doesn't match ECC

Hi all.
I load data through 0FI_AR_4 into 0FIAR_O03 DSO and 0FIAR_C03 by several FULL loads (closed fiscal periods) and Initial Delta. When I check amounts in BI and ECC using fbl5n I get these figures:
2 542 230 491,77 in BI
2 542 229 491,77 in ECC
As you can see data almost the same except the fact what in BI it is 1000 more.
I got more amount differences by Dunning Level.
I have no idea why. Any ideas?

If you did the history loads then a init no data txf when the users where still posting data then yes you will get balance differences at a dunnign level
This is because the concept of closed fiscal periods as I explained in another of your posts has absolutely no concept within AR (yes you can close periods for NEW Postings) - when you dunn a customer you will dunn outstanding requestys in a prior period - thus the full loads didnt pick this up
Of course you could have thought all this through and arranged downtime when you did you history loads and then tht init
Normally for a AR4 take on after productive start you do a init no data txf - then history repair loads not the other ay around - because the change documents for prioe periods will never come through

Older laptop connecting to Panasonic Viera using VGA to HDMI

I have an older Pavilion Tx1000 that I would like to hook up to my new Panasonic Viera TV. I don't have an hdmi port on my laptop, but I do have a vga to hdmi cable. When I hook it up, the tv says no signal. The video card in my computer is an NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150. How do I get this to work?

Your computer must have an HD compatible video card in order to use an HDMI connector.
I would reccomend getting a VGA cable and use the VGA port on the TV instead.
You will find it still provides a very good picture.

Issue using cursors in extractors

Hello,
I am using two cursors in an extractor. My requirement is to delete data obtained from one cursor from another set of data obtained from the second cursor.
What happens is when the two cursors run for the first time, assuming they read 100 records each, if the data i require to delete from the second cursor is not in the first set of records obtained from the first cursor, then on the second run, the data would be replaced by new data in both the tables and this time, even though the data is available in the second cursor, the data in the first has been replaced already. So the requirement doesnt get fulfilled.
If anyone could make sense of what i just wrote , pls help me out.

The thing is you cannot raise the exception when there is not data fetch in the first cursor select statement.
As you dont know at run time is there any data left in the second select statement you have written .
what you can do if declare a variable which will be set to X when the sy-subrc<> 0 for the first select statment.

Tables used in LO extractors

Hi
Can anyone point me to a document that shows the tables used in a Logistics extractor? Even If I get a few, that would still be ok.
I used to think I could get this by looking at the Comm Structure and removing MC from the name but this isn't the case as shown in the extractor 2LIS_18_I3OPER and looking at MCVGIH. Table VGIH does not exist.
I thought I was smart by trying an sql trace to find the tables but this doesn't work as well.
Can you assist?

Do what I do most often. Just in case you need more help ... post here ...
1. Goto ST05 transaction
2. Open another session by typing /orsa3
3. Enter the datasource name Example: 2LIS_18_I3OPER
4. Go to the previous session of ST05... Click on Activate trace
5. Go to the previous session of RSA3 and execute
6. Go to ST05 session and press Deactivate trace.
7. Press Display Trace.
8. You will find ther relevant tables...

I am extracting data by enhancing 0EMPLOYEE_ATTR extractor, using database tables PA0002, PA9001 (Custom infotype) and PA0006. But the logic does not take care of time intervals that are overlapping. so the data coming looks inconsistent.
For e.g.:

I referred a std FM 'HR_BIW_EXTRACT_IO_OCCUPANCY', which uses a ABAP statement PROVIDE for retrieval of consistent data based on the time intervals, but I am not sure how it works. Kindly help.

Using BAPI in extractors for feeding data to BW

Hi,
I have a requirement where ,I need to load the Data.
Presently They use BAPI_ALM_ORDERHEAD_GET_LIST to download the data into XL sheet.
Now New requirement is to insert this BAPI into function Module that will act as extractor that will feed BW using SBIW (Extraction By function Module).
Client will not use all the fields that comes from the BAPI , They will select few of them
the extractor can be a total Abap (using the BAPI) or can be also starting by Extraction from DB View then enhanced by the BAPI .
Can U please let me know the easy way for it.

If I were to do it, I would make a function module extractor which calls the BAPI and populates the extract structure/table.

Informatica Powercenter using content BW extractors directly?

Hi,
we've got an integratoin scenario where BW is used purely as an extracting tool from SAP to pass on data without any transformation to downstream systems (including existing DW) using Informatica Powercenter.
The Dataflow is basically:
SAP Platform --> Datasource / Extractor --> BW EDW layer (DSOs) --> OpenHub destination 3rd party --> Powercenter --> downstream systems.
Has anyone got experience or knowledge about the possibility to bypass BW in this scenario? I.e. could Powercenter use its own connectors that allow the integratoin with BAPI / RFC functions to call the extractors on SAP directly, without the staging of data in BW?
Any hints appreciated, even if it's not possible any reasons why it isn't.

I don't think it's possible.
Why? Well, the way BW & ECC talk to each other is based on several technologies and tight integration between BW & ECC.
For example delta extraction uses (depending on the extractor) tRFC, timestamps, V3 updates, iDocs etc.
And all in ABAP.
for example try to fill the setup tables for a 2LIS extractor without a linked BW system.
You can't. Well, not with some 'creative' changes in tables.
I suppose one can write a framework which emulates a SAP BW system, but that will cost a lot.
And SAP probably has built in some nice features to make this very hard.
After all: Business content (so also extractors) is one of the key features of SAP BW.
But theoretically it could be done. Is it profitable? Don't think so.
