View cover art wd book live nas iTunes

Hi, i have bought a WD Book Live 3tb network storage device, i have transferred all of my itunes library to the NAS drive and because it has a itunes server, itunes detects it and i can play my files. All of my music have the cover art embedded into the files, because when i view them in the finder i can see the cover art. But when i am browsing my library through itunes none of the cover art shows up even though it is embedded into the files? can anybody help me get my cover art to show? thanks

trial and error but i think i got it.. this worked for me running OS: 10.8.3, iTunes: 11.0.3
On your computer hard drive (running your OS) go to your music folder in finder and "IF" u have a folder called "iTunes" rename it to iTunes2 or whatever u what don't matter.
Create new iTunes by holding down opt key while opening iTunes. It will ask you to create or choose. press "Create Library..."
U will need to name…. save as: "iTunes" and the saved location HAS TO BE ON MAIN HARD DRIVE running your OS. This folder cant be saved to external hard drive ONLY MAIN HARD DRIVE and the name HAS to be "iTunes". It wont work with any other name
If you have large music located on external drive then u will need to go to preferences on iTunes and change "iTunes Media folder location" to your desired location on your external and MAKE SURE TO CHECK BOTH BOXES... ( the actual "iTunes" folder containing Album Artwork, iTunes Library.itl, iTunes Library.xml ect has to be located on main hard drive running OS that the trick)
Adding media back to new iTunes--- so IF your original media is located on the main drive then go to the new "iTunes" folder that was created in your Music folder on main hard drive and there is a folder called "Automatically Add to iTunes" all u do is just drag the folder holding all your original media to that folder called "Automatically Add to iTunes"and it will automatically move that original file and organize it to the new iTunes folder….So FYI any media on the same disk will not get doubled when u add to folder it will only organize file but if it located on different disk and you drag file to " "iTunes Media folder location"" located on main hard drive then it will double that file
Adding media to new iTunes if the original media is located on EXTERNAL drive----. Pretty much its the same but back on step 4 if you saved "iTunes Media folder location" to external folder... then that folder has a folder called "iTunes Media folder location"" …. So if u add any media saved on that drive and drag to that folder it will just organize and move that original file only……
So now in iTunes when u press "show in finder" for music it will show artwork and when u just search with finder it will show artwork for music file. Hope this help this issue bugged me for a long time apple tech was no help.. hope this works for others

ITunes 10 crashes when viewing cover art

running itunes 10 on windows xp sp3:
itunes crashes reproducibly after these steps:
1. play a song
2. select other song
3. click on album art work in left lower corner of itunes window
4. try resizing the windo that opens
--> itunes crashes
anybody else seeing this? workaround?

when clicking the cover art in the lower left corner of the song being played then iTunes shows player controls when the mouse is hovered over the artwork window. when another song is selected for artwork display it cannot activate player controls and crashes as soon as the window is resized.
Hah! I've been resizing the wrong thing. I take it back, Peter, I can replicate your issue in its entirety (XP SP3 English localisation). Same iTunes.dll being cited by my "iTunes has encountered an error" message when I click the "Click here" link in the error message.

Changing cover art after book is in store

Hi - I used Book Creator to make my book -- it just went up today -- using the producer is it possible to change one's cover art? - -want to make the titiles bigger. Thanks.

You’ll need to create a separate cover image and upload it to iTunes Producer. Use a tool like Photoshop or if you've created the book on your iPad you could just take a screenshot of your cover page and crop it.
The file must be a JPEG, PNG or TIFF file in RGB mode, (these are standard filetypes for images).
The image must also be a minimum of 1400px on its shortest side. It doesn’t matter if the cover art is landscape, portrait or square.

Cover art not being loaded in iTunes 7

How does iTunes get the artwork it displays in the new cover browser? From the artwork included with the id3 tag of the mp3 file, or from the directory the mp3 file is in?
I have cover art in most directories (directories organized by album), but it is not being loaded. Does the filename have to be in a specific format? Or does the artwork actually have to be embedded in the id3 tag of the mp3 file?

The artwork must be embedded with each individual song, just having it in the directory doesn't allow iTunes to find it.

Viewing cover flow through ipod playing on itunes

I have too much music and don't keep it all on the computer hard drive. Can I plug ipod into itunes and view Cover Flow of the ipod contents while its playing? Cover Flow works great with the files that are in itunes Library, just not through the ipod>computer>itunes.

HT201250 Time machine don't recognize my western digital MY BOOK LIVE nas as backup disc

Been trying to fix up western digital MY BOOK LIVE network attached storage to work with my MBP. But during time machine configuration, my network is not included in the backup disc available. This is even though my nas can be seen in my finder under shared.

Yes, we've seen a few posts where some NAS devices are doing that. It appears that either they didn't follow the requirements correctly, but earlier versions of OSX let them work anyway; or the requirements have changed but the makers haven't updated their software.
That, unfortunately, is one of the downsides to using 3rd-party products -- Apple may say it's WD's fault, WD may say it's Apple's.
You might want to check with WD; 10.6.4 has been out for about 2 1/2 months, so they've probably heard of this by now, and may have an update or workaround.
Or, if your Mac is covered by AppleCare, it might be worth a call to them.

Changing Cover Art for my podcast in iTunes music store

I'm trying to figure out how to change my cover artwork that is in my already submitted podcast in the itunes music store. Anyone know how to do this?

Exporting (dragging) Cover Art from iTunes just makes a picture clipping?

I have dragged cover art JPGs to songs in iTunes. Now I want to drag them back out to the desktop as JPGs. This used to be possible, but now I only get a picture clipping that I can't open with any other program than the Finder. Any ideas? I just want to be able to get certain covers out of iTunes as JPGs.

A neat trick I discovered is to control+click on the art in the view/show art window. It will then let you copy (and paste) art to an album or song there. You can also do that to and from other applications. For all I know you might be able to drag it to Photoshop.

Cover art for Pdf in Itunes 11

Please, does anybody solved the problem with cover art in pdf in itunes 11?? You can add an image to use as cover art to a pdf in itunes 11.4 but it won´t stick, any apple forum geniuses out there that could solved this? anybody know how can i send this inquiry to apple developers?

Album with mixed artists is being split by iTunes and loses cover art?

It's got different artists for each track, and the album is split up and the cover art goes when put onto iTunes. How to fix?

Cover Art Reflection Gone?

Can't find how to turn cover art mirror reflections in new iTunes in List and Grid modes - is it gone? If it is, what a shame. It looks really ugly now.

I'm looking at a Genius playlist playing in my iTunes, and the Cover Flow view still shows album reflections underneath.

Cover art in New Zealand?

Does anyone know if it is possible to view cover art in countries that don't yet have the iTunes Music Store (such as New Zealand)?
I was able to use CoverFlow (where the cover art came from Amazon or Google or drag-and-drop).
I'm surprised that I can't use this feature because there is no Music Store here.

This has been resolved with the introduction of Apple New Zealand and the iTunes New Zealand music store a few months ago.

COVER ART DOESN'T SHOW IN COVER FLOW

Just got the new ipod classic, 80gb.
Some of the cover art I synced doesn't show in cover flow. Instead of the blank musical note cover, it's just black, meaning it has content, but it just won't show.
But all the cover arts show perfectly in my itunes.

I've had this problem also. This problem usually happens when I update new artwork to the iPod. SOLUTION: Try deleting the entire album from the iPod, then re-transfer the whole album from iTunes with the new artwork. This solution has worked for me every time (so far). Best of luck.
So many things about the 160GB performance suck ***, but I love the stupid thing. Hoping they fix all the bugs soon!

Where has my cover art gone?

I have spent an age updating my i tunes collection. by that i mean, renaming tracks that had "unknown album" for them, renaming tracks, and making sure that all my Tracks had the corect cover art loaded for it. it took a long time, but it looks good. Im using i tunes 8.0.0.35.
so i sync up my ipod touch, but i have noticed that there are at least 40 tracks on the ipod now with out the cover art. even though the cover art is included on my itunes collection.
What gives?

In the information window for a single track, the cover image is shown in the Summary and Artwork tabs, but you add or remove images in the latter. In the Multiple Item Information window the Artwork tag appears in the Info tab and it is presented as empty even thought the individual tracks do have an album cover image embedded. iTunes has operated in this fashion for some time now.
