Dear All,
In EHP5 'Personal profile' Service, I was trying to modify the detailed screen of Address Information for Great Britain through FPM configurator. On the default detailed screen for this country, there was one group called 'Communication' . I wanted to hide that group. I thought I can achieve this by modifying attribute of this group. There were two attributes 'sequence Index' and 'Column' which decides position of specific group on detailed screen. I made value against these attributes as 0. But after doing these changes I am not able to see the preview of this detailed screen. It is throwing following runtime error:
View Element with ID CFGGROUP_36_CAPTION in View V_PREVIEW Already Exists.
How to revert the changes made in the attribute of this group.

In EhP5 ESS Personal Profile application, in order to change the
Address overview page fields, you need to adapt the Address component
configuration HRESS_CC_PER_OVR_ADDRESS_XX.
Note: In EhP5, ESS screens are based on Floor Plan Manager for
WebDynpro ABAP Generic UI Building Block concept. To configure
overview page fields we no longer use 'Determine Fields for Business
Card on Area Page' View instead of that we adapt the FPM configurations.
In the standard delivery in the Overview Page, always international
Address is displayed and in the edit screen based on the country
selection (Foreign Address scenario), corresponding country screens
are displayed.
Note: We always show international address screen in overview page in
order to support Foreign Address scenario.
If you want to chanage the fields in the Address overview page fields
then adapt the Address component configuration

While saving Bex query with Technical name, it says Query already existing

I am facing a problem. While saving a query withy its technical name (for example ZQYZMPR_01), it says that query is already existing. But when I search for the query in all tabs like Favourites, Roles, Infoprovider It is not found.
I also checked a view V_REP_JOIN. In this view I find Query (ZQYZMPR_01) in MODIFIED version.
I want to use my previous query instead of creating new one.
Suggest, how can I retrieve my previous query that I am unable to search for.

Searching with descriptions may lead to confusion as there may be similar descriptions to a query but just one technical name. Check the query 'where used list' you may find answers.
Can you check the query in RSZCOMPDIR ? If the query exist here, it must be there in the system. Do the search with exact technical name ZQYZMPR_01 or ZQYZMPR*, you should be able to find. Do not search in specific areas like roles etc..search directly by inputting the tech. name.
Ferdinando - you can delete the query in RSZDELETE transaction. While doing so, it will prompt for removal from all areas like roles, workbooks etc. Say 'yes' and delete, you will be able to assign the technical name to another query.

Seems this a sync/conflict issue between your local OneNote and OneDrive. You must change your local folder name and avoid any existing files in that clould-folder may be overwritten by local files in the notebook you open, if the files have the same
name.
You'd better to change the name on one of sites.

How to find out which context attributes are mapped to view elements

We have a custom WD application ( on ECC 6.0 - SAP Basis 70 ) where we have a context node whose 70 attributes are displayed over 2 seperate views.
When a user enters the view, we want to inform him which data was changed.
I have written a general method which takes the context node, grabs its attributes and compares values ... messages are generated via the message manager and context element/attributes are linked so that the input elements become red.
Everything works fine but the only problem is that I do not know which attributes are visible on which view so the user is getting the changes of view 2 on view 1 and vice versa ( if the context is only mapped on 1 view then there is no issue ofcourse ).
The call is currenlty executed at the views inbound plug ... I also checked the view methods themselves like modify view but nothing seems to lead me to a potential solution ...
I have looked through almost all API classes available but I cannot find any way to obtain information about the linking of view elements with context elements/attributes during runtime ... And I don't want to 'hardcode' a list of context attributes per view ....
Has anyone done something similar ?

The operation cannot be completed an item with the name "...already exists

Hello mac users,
please help me... I can't copy to Applications any larger *.app file. I try drag Ableton (live.app ~120mb) or Mailplane.app (76mb) to Application dyr, but I saw message: "the operation cannot be completed an item with the name "..." already exists". But i had never install this apps before.

So, you are dragging the application from it's folder on the disk image directly to your Applications folder. If that's the case and you still get this message, have you ever installed that application before?
If it was installed at some time in the past, look in /Library/Receipts to see if there is a .pkg or a .bom for it. If you find one, delete it and try again.
EDIT: I'm downloading ableton now to see what's going on... OK no problems here. I dragged it to my Applications folder and now have a folder named "Live 7.0.10 OS X" in my Applications folder.
Perhaps you are looking for it under the wrong name?

Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer: Full screen view of lower quality than with PSE 10 and before?!

Upgrading from PSE 10 to 11, I noticed that when I watch my images with the organizer in PSE 11 in full screen view mode (F11), while the images load faster, they are shown in a lower quality than in PSE 10 or any other version of PSE that I owned before. In PSE 11, after the initial viewing in full screen (in the "fit screen" mode), when I click with the mouse on an image to display the "100%" view, there is a delay and the program says "Loading...", after which the 100% view in the full screen mode appears. When I then click another time with the mouse on the image to get back to "fit screen" mode, I get an image of better quality than during the initial view!
So it seems like the program first gives a faster, but lower quality view of the image in full screen mode, and only after the user requests a 100% view, it actually loads the image with full detail, which is then preserved when going back to the "fit screen" view. This is a serious issue for me, because I also use PSE organizer to present my pictures to other people, and I don't want to show them some lower quality versions of my images, but the full quality ones, without having to first choose "100% view" and then go back to "fit screen".
How can I make the PSE 11 organizer give me a full-quality full screen image right away, as this used to be the case in PSE10 and before?
(I have both versions, PSE 11 and PSE 10, now on the same computer and tested this to confirm that the PSE 11 initial full screen view is of lower quality than the PSE 10 one. Also in PSE 10, there is practically no delay for displaying the "100%" view afterwards, indicating that the image was loaded with full detail right away.)

"Thank you for contacting Adobe.
When you press the F11 button, Organizer 11 uses the Bicubic
interpolation mainly because it is less processor intensive compared to
Bicubic Sharper, and it helps to create the preview on the fly, rather
than based on the thumbnail cache.
When you zoom out from the 100% view, Elements Organizer uses Bicubic
Sharper. This is because Bicubic Sharper is used for image reduction, so
if the 100% view is larger than the available screen space, it will need
to shrink. The Bicubic Sharper images may look more crisp however, Like
any sharpening algorithm, Bicubic Sharper introduces halos and
edge-enhancement artifacts. Those halos are typically slight, but any
further sharpening (which you'll need when preparing an image for print,
for example) will exaggerate them.This is expected behavior. The
Organizer isn't great for determining exact quality, I recommend you to
use Elements Editor for this purpose.

Why I am wondering about the choice to use the "Bicubic" algorithm when pressing F11 in PSE 11 is that all previous versions of PSE that I owned (which spans from PSE 6 to PSE 10) did use the "Bicubic Sharper" algorithm right away when pressing F11. So apparently Adobe didn't worry about processor intensity of this algorithm then, and computers are getting all the time more powerful.
It is true that in some situations, the "Bicubic Sharper" algorithm may introduce halos and edge-enhancement artifacts, as you write. On the other hand, especially on smaller resolution screens, the results of the "Bicubic Sharper" algorithm may look more crisp and lively, while the ones of the "Bicubic" algorithm may look more flat and lack fine detail. Therefore, I would highly appreciate an option as described above to be implemented in the PSE 11 organizer via an update. It should be fairly easy from a programming point of view, since both algorithms are already contained in the program anyway."

Finding the View associated with an Element

Is there any way to find the javax.swing.text.View associated with an Element without iterating over every view and seeing if ( view.getElement() == element )?

Don't know if this will help but you can use:
TextUI ui = textComponent.getUI();
View root = ui.getRootView( textComponent );
View child = root.getView(???);
So if you are iterating through each Element then I am guessing that child index of your Element would be the same index for the View.

View Object with User Defined Type input

I am trying to use a View Object with a query that requires a user defined object as an input parameter.
I have the query working with a PreparedStatement, but would like to use a View Object.
When I use the PreparedStatement, I prepare the user defined type data like this:
// get the data into an object array
Object[] wSRecObjArr = wSRec.getObjectArray();
// set up rec descriptor
StructDescriptor WSRecDescriptor = StructDescriptor.createDescriptor("WS_REC",conn);
// populate the record struct

Then I can use this in the PreparedStatement like this:
OraclePreparedStatement stat = null;
ResultSet rs = null;
stat = (OraclePreparedStatement)conn.prepareStatement("Select test_pkg.test_function(?) FROM DUAL");
stat.setSTRUCT(1, wSRecStruct);
rs = stat.executeQuery();
I would like to do the same process with a View Object instead of the PreparedStatement.
My question is "How do I create the input objects"?
I obtain the View Object from the Application Module using findViewObject(). I don't actually have a connection object to pass into the StructDescriptor.createDescriptor method.
I have tried just using Java Object Arrays (Object[]) to pass the data, but that gave an error:
oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException: JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation.
Any help or pointers are greatly appreciated.

Custom domains are the way to go.
When I try to pass custom domains that represent my user defined types - it works.
However, one of the functions requires a table of a user defined type be passed in.
I tried creating a domain of the table type. It forces me to add a field during creation (in JDEV), so I tried adding a field of type Array of Element of the domain representing the user defined type.
I populate the table by setting the field I created, but the table is empty in PL/SQL (TEST_TAB.COUNT = 0).
I also tried passing the oracle.jbo.domain.Array object, but that produced an error:
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-06553: PLS-306: wrong number or types of arguments in call
I also tried passing Object[], but that produced an error:
oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException: JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation.
How do I properly create, and pass an domain that represents a table of a user defined type?
When I use a OraclePreparedStatement, I can pass a oracle.sql.ARRAY using stat.setARRAY.

I created a <section> and an <aside> in code view, and styled those elements in my CSS, but it doesnt show anything in design view!
why not?

CS5.5 is Adobe's spring 2011 release.
Why is it not up to speed??
Isnt html5 very 2009-2010ish?

Well we are all "getting up to speed" with HTML5 because, as it stands, it is still not a standard.
As to styling in CS4 vs CS5.5, Dreamweaver is an engine that assists in making good HTML code. It's agnostic. If you don't close your tags properly in CS 5.5 and then open the same document in CS4, it will notice that you did not close your tags properly.
Adobe makes plugins that will allow CS4 to do code hinting properly with HTML5 selectors and CSS3, assuming the document is peroperly defined as an HTML5 document.

View Elements in Method Before Action

Hi all,
because of a generic validation rule I need to know in Method BeforeAction of a webdynpro view, which elements of a context node are bound to the view.
As an example:
The view has two data container (nodes) - these two nodes should be checked against each other (e.g. a global data and specific data referring the global ones).
On the current view, only specifc data is displayed. So if the validation fails for global data the error message should be suppressed or changed in text.
Therefore I try to get a list of elements on the current view or something similar.
I tried to do something with the view controller but no success. As well with proxy casting, but there the methods are protected.
I know it might be a quite strange demand, but it would be nice, if you can help me with some hints.

I have designed a ABAP webdynpro application.
With one parameter in application so that I can pass data to webdynpro to views elements.
Can any one help how to pass data from URL additional parameters to Views context elements?
For Example:
WebDynpro Application URL: http://XXXX.com:YYYY/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zumruf4?zdata=909090
So Can I display parameter zdata '909090' to main view?

Cannot view elements and versions

I have migrated a 6.0 repository to a 6i repository. A Global Shared Workarea was created and all applications were migrated under this workarea. I have enabled versioning and made table changes which resulted in multiple versions of certain elements. How do I use RON to view tables at the element level and not the version level. I assumed that RON would show me the element with each version as objects within the element. For example, will RON show me the element Employee in the following manner?

|--- Employee 1.1
If RON will produce this result, what must I do to the repository to achieve it?

Right Mouse Click on the table definition and use the Version History Viewer to see all versions of an object.

Web Dynpro Enhancement : Rename text of the View Elements

Hello All,
I want to enhance standard web Dynpro component. I need to rename text of some of view element.Ex.- label. I searched on SDN but I can able to find only following two things.
1. We can able to remove the view element in enhancement implementation.
2. We can add Post/Pre methods to the view methods.
But I am not able to find the "How to rename the text of the view element?"
Ex.: I have one label. Text for that label before enchantment is 'ABC' . when enhancement implementation is active, it should be 'PQR'.
Any pointers?

If you just need to rename the text of labels then you don't need the enhancement framework for that. Using either adminstrative personalization or component configuration you can override the SAP delivered label text with your own without changing the underlying Web Dynpro component.
