View Hidden Pictures

OK, I have pictures that I do not want people to see that may get a hold of my phone.  So I highlighted a particular picture and hit the "menu" button, then "properties", and then I checked the box that says "Hidden".  Now I can't find it!  I have called technical support and no one can seem to figure out where the picture goes once you hide it.  It is obviously still on the phone somewhere since I didn't delete it.  I have figured out a better way by just hiding the folder, but now I want my picture back! Does anyone know how to Unhide picutures or make them viewable once they have been hidden??

To get to a picture you have hidden do this:
Exploring media
1. In the media application, press the Menu key.
2. Click Explore.
3. Navigate to a folder that contains media files.
5. Press the Menu key.
6. Click Show Hidden.
Once the hidden pictures are shown, scroll to them and go into their properties and change the hidden value.
I would think a better way of doing this would be to put all the pictures you don't want seen in a folder by themselves and then go to the Media options and deselect that folder from being seen.
Good luck!
Jamie

Did you hide THAT folder? If so... what folder was THAT folder in? Menu > Show Hidden.
You can always connect via USB to your PC > open the Media Card on your "My Computer" and find the files. ON each one, or the hidden folder, right click on it > Properties > and uncheck the hidden attribute.

  • Hidden pictures show in Web Gallery

I've used the new Hide functionality to hide some pictures. That works fine. When I create a Web Gallery for that event it rightly shows the count of the unhidden pictures. When clicking on the Web Gallery in iPhoto it displays the expected pictures. However when viewing on the web, the Grid, Carousel and Slideshow also show the hidden pictures. What's really weird is that the Mosaic shows the expected.
Looks like a bug - anybody else encountered something similar?

    Hi Mark,
If you are talking about what you see in the Preview, then yes, that is restricted to the first ten images in your selection.
If you go ahead and create the web Gallery and then view it, you will see all of your selected images.

  • Does iTunes have any hidden picture controls for video playback (e.g. contrast, brightness) ?

Does iTunes have any hidden picture controls for video playback (e.g. contrast, brightness) ?
I haven’t been able to find any.
Since the .m4v file type appears to prevent any video bought or rented from the iTunes Store from being played using any other program the lack of these picture controls - if indeed they are lacking - make it seriously deficient as a video player.

Thanks for the rapid response to my enquiry.
I know that it’s possible to adjust the monitor’s performance via System Preferences but it is rather long-winded and I’d rather not alter the settings for the entire screen (and then have to change them all back once finished) when it’s only the video playback window that needs adjustment.
Since iTunes provides various options using the Equalizer for adjusting sound playback it seems rather odd that they don’t have a similar panel for video.
    Regarding QuickTime.
Apparently earlier versions (such as 7) had picture controls but the current version (10.4) does not.
I assume Apple are phasing out QT whose development seems to have stopped - or rather gone backwards since it now lacks capabilities it once had - and intend in future to treat iTunes as their universal media player which no doubt makes sense from their point of view.
I wasn’t aware of the .m4v file type when I made my first and probably last video purchase via iTunes yesterday and didn’t realise that it would restrict my options for playback so completely.
The experience has really put me off buying any additional video from the iTunes Store.

  • How to display hidden pictures ?

Hi, lots of my photos are hidden (I don't even know how it happened) and I can't make them reappear.
The menu on the lower right corner of the photo only suggests to hide it - "masquer" in french - .
So when I click on that, a crossmark shows up and the menu suggests to display it back -"afficher" in french -.
But when I click on "display", the crossmark vanishes and the picture remains hidden.
On top of the screen, the menu "presentation" mentions "hidden pictures", but clicking on that doesn't do anything.
Any idea of what I should do ?

Thank you for your answer but it doesn't help so far.
In this french version I don't have any "view" menu. I guess it's translated by "présentation".
And in that menu I don't have "check hidden photos" but just "hidden photos" ("photos masquées" or shiftkey+cmd+H) and and when I click there, as said earlier, nothing happens.

  • Any way to show hidden pictures in iPhoto Places?

Has anyone found a way to show all hidden photos in Places? (I have lots of hidden photos in lots of events!)
I've got a number of photos showing up in the completely-wrong place in Places (e.g., photos from Spain showing up in Nebraska, photos from California showing up in China). I've gone through the pictures that "places" reveals when I click on one of these completely-wrong pins and manually re-"placed" them, but the pin still shows up. (If I click on it in Places, it shows me an empty roll of photos.) I found, by accident, that some hidden photos were (mis-)located at this pin place. I suspect that the pin is staying there because there are more hidden photos mis-located at that location... but I don't know how to find them! (The non-hidden photos that were mis-located came from a number of different events -- so I have no idea which hidden pictures are still mis-located in Nebraska!)
    Thanks!

"Hidden pictures" in the view menu was grayed in Places... but it's not in the "Photos" view. That solved my problem; thanks!

  • When I save an image on my ipod touch 3rd gen then go to the photos, the library updates/rebuilds, then I cannot view the picture as it just comes up as a picture of a grey camera that says JPG.  It never used to do this, how do I fix it?

I go to save a picture (bu holding my finger down on the image, then pressing save image, when the option comes up), and then go to the photos to view the picture, its says updating library and takes about a minute to finish loading and rebuilding/updating the library.  After it has finished updating the library I cannot view the picture I saved because it comes up as a picture of a grey camera that says JPG (I assume this is some sort of file, because if i save multiple pictures only one JPG, gery camera image shows up.) My ipod never used to do this.  Any idea on how to fix it?

If you mean backed up as part of an iPhone backup in iTunes?  If so, you would have to use 3rd party software to extract them from the backup, such as iPhone Backup Extractor.

  • Is there any way I can view / remove pictures from Camera Roll on the iPhone, on a Mac, without actually importing the files?

Is there any way I can view / remove pictures from Camera Roll on the iPhone, on a Mac, without actually importing the files? I just want to view / delete files without importing them.
For instance I have 1200 photos on my iPhone Camera Roll. Some of these are shots, that I've taken multiple times, some good, some bad. I just want to clean up my Camera Roll, but going through the pictures on the iPhone's small screen is tedious. I'd much rather look at the camera roll's photo's on my Mac, and then decide which files I'd like to keep, and which to delete.
I don't want to import the files, as when I import the files, and delete them from Camera Roll, now the Photo's are not on my phone, and the only way to get them back on my Phone is to Import them back in using iTunes, and then they go into the Picture Library and not the Camera Roll.
In the same way as I can view Pics from my digital camera's SD card on a Mac without having to actually copy them to my computer, is there any app out there that will let me view my iPhone pics without importing them.

    The short answer is yes.
Connect your iPhone to your computer.
    Open Image Capture application.
Click on the 4 little squares at bottom to view them as photos, not a list.
Select the photos them click the No Entry icon at bottom to delete.

What happens when you try to play the actual film ? And have you tried deleting them and (assuming that they're still in the store) redownloading them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page - or going into Edit > Preferences and on the Store tab ticking the 'show iTunes in the Cloud purchases' tick box so that they show in the My Movies part of your library with a cloud icon against it for redownloading) ?
(You can't store films in the cloud, whether they will show there for redownloading depends upon what country that you are in - and if you move countries or if the rights-holder removes them then you also won't be able to redownload them. Ideally you'd be taking a backup copy of all of your downloads, and not relying on being able to redownload them in the future.)

  • Why I cant view my picture on my iphoto and if I try to copy to any folder it Shows "The item on the clipboard cant be pasted to this location. (One or more of the item may have been deleted or are no longer available) "

Why I cant view my picture on my iphoto and if I try to copy to any folder it Shows "The item on the clipboard cant be pasted to this location. (One or more of the item may have been deleted or are no longer available) "

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. Describe the problem as fully as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

  • HOW TO VIEW HIDDEN FILES?????

i have searched for days on my computer for some hint a program or option that allows me to view any hidden files in an application folder, but it has yet eluded me.
I am having trouble with a program of mine, and the tech service there told me to send them the programs log file, which they named. i looked in the applications folder, and the only files i saw was the program icon, and the uninstall folder, which contained the uninstall icon. i told them this, and they replied:
"i'am sure that these files are on your computer. Maybe they are invisible.
Please search (automatic) the folder ".********" ."
if anyone knows, eitehr what this means, or how to view hidden files, please let me know
    Thanx

To see inside an application package select the application then CTRL- or RIGHT-click and select Show package contents from the contextual menu. You can navigate through the application package's content. It's unlikely you will find anything useful there.
To see invisible files open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder and at the command line prompt enter or paste the following command then press RETURN:
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
To turn off the display of invisible files substitute FALSE for TRUE in the same command line.
Invisible files are invisible for a reason - to hide them from the prying eyes of novice users and ignorant tech support people. Perhaps it would be more helpful if you could detail the problem you are having.

  • E52- how to view the pictures in your gallery as a...

you can only view the pictures in that n95 circle style - how do you make it like the thumbnails on a pc?
You could do this before on the 6300
It really is annoying, as i have a few hundred pictures, and to find one - it takes ages, as i have to scroll through them all!
    Regards

If you are willing to pay for a superior third party solution, consider getting Resco Photo Viewer. It supports viewing in thumbnail mode and folder browsing like on a normal desktop gallery application (reminds me of ACDSee) and is so much quicker and easier to use than the Gallery app. You can even set it to cache thumbnails so it will be quicker the next time you use it.
There is a 14-day trial on there is no harm in trying.
