View in WEB Analyzer

Hi
I created a view(global) on a query in Bex Analyzer and saved/published it in a role.
When i try to access the view that i published in a role from WEB Analyzer i can't able to see that view in that role
How can i proceed now

When i published the Query/Report on which the View is based to a role i can able to view the View as well.
Let me start from the begining...
I had a Query/Report which got nearly 80 Free Chars (Drilldown)...insted of creating multiple queries
1) I want to create multiple (6) versions of the query as view with 20 free chars and assign them to users according to thier authorisation.
2) How can i limit the Free Chars for drill down in a view
3)How can i grant access to users for a view with out granting access to query

I have created queery view in BEX analyzer and would like to open it in web (Query designer).
Unfortuately, its not availble in WEB. Is query view only availble in application (WEB or Analyzer) whereit was created?

Right click and delete when you're in the "open" dialog in Analyzer.

Using WEB Analyzer SAVE and OPEN view in web templates?

Hi all,
The WEB Analyzer available with BW3.5 is a welcome alternative to BEX, so I'm trying to convert my existing WEB applications running BEX queries by adding functions such as OPEN and SAVE view.
I'm trying to do this by modifying my existing templates and adding the functions/object as they are used in 0ANALYZER, but I haven't got it working.
Is this the way to go? Can it be done in this way?

Max column in one view of BEx web analyzer

Hi,
could anyone please tell me how many columns maximum are displayed in one screen of BEx web analyzer?
I remember it is 6 columns. if more than 6 columns, the more columns will be cut. Am I correct?

Hi,
U can display more than 6 columns,Open the web template in your webapplication designer, select the table section and go in the properties. There you'll be able to specify the number of columns.
You need to change the following parameters within the Web ApplicationDesigner.
DATA_COLUMN_FROM
DATA_COLUMN_TO
BLOCK_coLUMN_SIZE
BLOCK_COLUMN_STEP_SIZE
There is no "simple" way to use scrolling instead of paging ...although if you set the DATA_COLUMN_TO = 0, then all columns are displayed, which means you can use your browser scroll bars, but the leading column(s) won't be frozen.
But you can change these values when you drop an Analysis_Item onto a template in the WAD, but not sure if you are able to edit the standard tables from the WAD. f you go to transaction SE38 and run program RS_TEMPLATE_MAINTAIN_70, then you can search for the name of the standard table that is being used, and potentially add in the required commands there to change the number of columns that are displayed. If you are only seeing 6 columns, then you may find there is a table called 0PATTERN_TABLE_14R4C or something along those lines ...

Hi,
I think the standard template in 2004s is named 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN. You can find it in Web Application Designer, open, and search for the technical name. If you want to change the number of rows or columns, you can find this setting near the bottom of the XHTML view of the template:
<bi:BLOCK_COLUMNS_SIZE value="4" />
<bi:BLOCK_ROWS_SIZE value="17" />
Then just save, and ignore the error messages.

SAP BW query view deletion in Web/ "Delete Query view" in web

Dear All,
We are using the standard template: BW web analyzer (0ANALYZER). In this standard template, SAP provided two links "Save View" and "Open View" for creating new query views and opening existing query views respectively. However, no oppurtunity was provided to "delete query views".
We would like to have an oppurtunity to delete the query views as well from Web. (currently we are deleting the unwanted query views from Bex analyzer, as per the request from business users - who have access only to the web reports).
Would be great if you can suggest some solution to this problem.
By the way, We would not like to use the standard "Query view selection" web item. (as it creates user specic local views only).

Query Selection Screen does not appear in Web Analyzer

Hi Experts,
Query Selection Screen appears when we open the query in Bex Analayzer in production system. But when we open the query in ABAP or JAVA Web view, the selection screen does not appears.
As the volume of data in the cube is very high, and since the selection screen is not appearing, the query extracts 1.5Mrecords and results in dump.
Kindly let me know the possibility for selection screen not appearing.
Note: The selection screen appear in Development system in Bex Analyzer, ABAP View and Java View

You can check if the parameter &VARIABLE_SCREEN=X is added to standard template or not, If not add this,
In order to add this parameter in the webtemplate you have to change 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN and save it as ZANALYSIS_PATTERN and enter this standard web template under TCODE RSCUSTV27.
Also I would like to explain you the behavior of Web Analyzer,
Parameter VARIABLE_SCREEN=X only influences the WEB application at startup. This will not come into affect
when you use the 'New Analysis' button. The 'New Analysis' button resets the dataprovider so this would not
affect the variable screen and would not redisplay the variable screen as you require.

Web Analyzer - ability to access external data sources?

Documentation on help.sap.com for the 2004s Web Analyzer notes it can render queries, query views, infoproviders, and external data sources for ad-hoc analysis in the standardized reporting template.
Can anyone clarify exactly what constitutes external data? To my knowledge, I didn't think it was possible to report on something outside of the BI instance (let's say an Oracle table on another server, for example).

Hi Scott,
in the Web Analyzer you can use external OLAP data sources(ODBO or XMLA) . Relational data sources are not supported in NW2004s.
You can set this up in the portal system landscape.

Depending on the data source different capabilities are supported, so that some options are only available when you are using the BI OLAP Processor and won't be supported when using external data sources.

BI 7 Portal - BEx Web Analyzer- URL used is not fully qualified.

I have a problem while accessing BEx Web Analyzer on BI 7 Portal. When I select "Business Intelligence" -> "BEx Web Analyzer". This is ending up with a 500 Internal Server Error

ur questions 1 and 2 should be directed to portal administrator at ur firm..
as u r trying to change the lay out when user presses New analysis.
again in 2 u want to default the saving to favourites folders.
3. if u save a view and later u try to open or run another query ..
for e.g. in ur saved view of query1 the time period is 1/07-12/07
now u r running some query x which has time 1/08-4/08
and now if u try to open ur view of query-1 then it will take the time period of 1.08---4.08
but if u open bookmark it will bring it to u the xact screen and xact time variables with which u save query1

BEx Web Analyzer send buttion

Dear all,
We are on NetWeaver 2004s BI SP11. I have activated the web templates starting with 0ADHOC from BI content. From BEx Web Analyzer, if I click on send buttion, I see screen consisting four tabs and buttons like save view, export to excel, and export to csv..etc. But when click on those button either an empty popus comes up or nothing happens. Am I missing anything. Please advise.

Hi Ravi,
The Advantage of Designing a query on WAD(web application designer) is you can design or customise your query and publish on web and portal where as you dont have that facility when you publish on Bex Analyser as it shows at query level..
You can Design Charts, Tables, Combo Boxes, Drop Down menus and many and customise the same report in WAD to view more infiormation
The Best way to Publish in Portal is by creating an IVIEW in WAD... check the above messages and create an IVIEW ...
For you Information I willl explain few more things..
There are three ways to publish any Query in portal
1.BEx Web application: template_id=<TEMPLATE_ID>
2.BW query: infocube=<INFOCUBE>&query=<QUERY>
3. BW bookmark: bookmark_id=<BOOKMARK_ID>
Say if you publish the query in Bex Analyser and it will be Query directly
and the link will be like this
http:/dwrcymru.int:8080/sap/bw/BEx?
cmd=ldoc&infocube=<INFOCUBE>&query=<QUERY>
the highlighted one will be used by Portal People to Publish
Say if you create an IVIEW on the same query in WAD the link be like this
http://dwrcymru.int:8080/sap/bw/BEx?cmd=ldoc&template_id=DG3_2006_TEST
you can find the difference as the Bex Analyser is pulling from Cube and Query and the IVIEW is saved on Web Application Server...
