View iphone movies on the web

I have several short movies taken with my iPhone that I would like to post on my company website. Please advise the most direct (easiest, quickest) way to do that. Thanks in advance.

It depends on the supported video format of your website for most of the time. I think the best way is to convert your videos to MP4/FLV with the video converter since these two are the widest supported video format on the web. The process would be very fast and really convenient. You can try. the conversion should be three steps: add file->choose the output format->convert
Hope it would help ~

  • Can't view Quicktime Movies on the web

this is what im trying to view
    http://www.solent.ac.uk/360/hamwic_bedroom.html
it worked a while back but not now, now i get the light blue logo with the question mark
cant change file types in preferences they are not greyed out they dont even show as a list, it says programatically set
i found qtp whatever it was in regedit changed everything to full control
moved quicktime .xml file onto desktop from apple computer folder
uninstalled and installed quicktime a few times
tried with ie8 google chrome and cometbird
    no luck
quicktime is terrible, i dont know why so many things on the web need it to play, they may as well ask notepad to open the files.
    cheers

I'm having the exact same problem... Don't know when but IE and Firefox are refusing to play quicktime files. I can run the quicktime player and play MP3 and MOV files (which is what I normally do) but nothing is playing from the browser.
I've tried pretty much everything I can think of... in the end, QuickTime is not showing up under Set Default Programs or Set Program Associations (via QuickTime Preferences->Browser->MIME Settings or File Types).
I can install QT-Lite, and everything works for the browser... except now I don't have a standalone player that plays MP3 and MOV files because I cannot have QT-Lite installed alongside QuickTime.
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • HT201335 when i watch movies from the web with airplay on my apple tv stop every 2 minuts

when i watch movies from the web with airplay on my apple tv stop every 2 minuts

I have a similar issue with my Home Sharing.  Everything plays just fine on my Apple TV except when I try to play a movie using Home Sharing.  If I choose the same show or movie from the Purchased section of iTunes it works just fine but nothing ever loads for me on Home Sharing.
Not the exact same issue, but very similar.  Good luck, I'm hoping to learn something here too!

  • After purchasing the Export PDF Online software when I attempt to perform a "File/Save As" when viewing a document on the web it locks up windows explorer.  I receive "FIle Save As - Not Responding"

After purchasing the Export PDF Online software when I attempt to perform a "File/Save As" when viewing a document on the web it locks up windows explorer.  I receive "FIle Save As - Not Responding"

I think you may be correct.  It is coincidental with my upgrade to Adobe Reader 11.0.10.
    I have installed IE 11 (11.0.9600.17690)
It may be an Adobe Reader problem in that the "tools/file save as" dialog is completely empty. No local directories are displayed for saving to.   When I try to Close(X) the "File Save As" box it pops up a message box on top that says "Adobe Reader is not Responding"  It locks up all of my IE windows, not just the one with the PDF doc.
I need to go go Task Manager and stop the IE task.  All my browser windows are then closed.
That is the only way to recover from the "Adobe Reader is Not Responding" message.

  • Putting movies on the web for download - help and advice needed

    Hello everybody,
I'm not sure whether this is the right place for this question, but here's hoping...
I've produced an hour long DVD on the history of my car club. I have produced the DVD using iMovie and iDVD, and it's fine.
We will be having a number of these DVDs produced, but we also want to offer the movie as a download on our website. Of course this needs to be compressed, but what I want to be able to do is offer the user a file that will burn them a DVD with chapter markers etc, just like the DVD I have, in one operation - a straightforward duplicate. I also want to be able to let them download a label and jewel case insert and offer a complete package.
Is an easy duplicate like this possible, and what sort of file size would the compressed item be? As the DVD is close to capacity, I assume the original will be around 4.7 Gb. There are also some jpegs on the DVD as extras.
Certainly, it would be desirable for the user to play it on their computer, but the main aim is to get a disc TV ready (in the PAL format).
I know you can download movies from the web, and I've downloaded trailers onto my iPod and played them back on a 32" TV and they're excellent. What I don't know is what software will do this. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

    Steve,
what I want to be able to do is offer the user a file that will burn them a DVD with chapter markers etc, just like the DVD I have, in one operation - a straightforward duplicate.
I suppose you could put up a 4 something gigabyte DVD disk image up somewhere on the web, but I wouldn't want to try and download it! Do you have a site available with this kind of storage and download bandwidth?
Normally, the things I've seen on the web are reduced in image size to something like 320x240 - this reduces the file size to 1/4 the full size file.
For Apple users, H.264 gives a pretty compact file with decent quality, but I'm not sure many PC users would be able to use it. In any event, people couldn't make a DVD with chapters without extra work.
You could get QuickTime Pro and try converting the movie (or a part of it anyway) to H.264 (or 'regular' mpg-4) see how it looks.

  • Some people are unable to view my movie on my web page

I published a short movie on my web page. Some people are able to view the movie; however, others cannot view the movie at all. I thought that everyone would be able to view the movie once I put it on my web page. I don't understand why some can see it and others cannot. One of the people that cannot view the movie is very "computer smart" and has a "good computer", so I am very confused about this. Can anyone help?
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.10)
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

iWeb uses QuickTime and it is required to view your file.
Newer machines and Apple "iApps" create files that use H.264 Video codec which requires the viewing machine have version 7 installed.
Version 7 of QuickTime can't be installed on all machines as it requires 10.3.9, or higher, on a Mac and Windows XP, or higher on a PC.

  • I can not view pdf. files on the web.

I have downloaded the latest Adobe reader.
I can open and view existing pdf files on my desktop.
I can not however view any pdf files from web sites.

    Yes, it was working.
Last week I cleaned up my hard drive using an app. called OmniDiskSweeper.
I deleted what I thought was an extra copy of Adobe Reader 9.
Today, I tried to open an pdf file on a website and just got a dark page.
I tried several different websites with the same result.
I was able to open existing pdf files located on my desktop.
I then downloaded and reinstalled both Adobe Reader 9 and Adobe Reader 10.1.3 .
I am still unable to open and view pdf files on web sites.

  • Fast start for Quicktime movies on the web

    Hi All,
So I finished my first FCE project and posted the movie on my web site. But Quicktime doesn't start playing the movie until after it is completely downloaded. This doesn't happen with the other movies I have on my site, and as far as I can remember I used the sames options in Quicktime export. I selected the "fast start" option in the box "Prepare for Internet Streaming", as I always do.
Is there something more that I need to do when exporting a FCE project? Or is there another option that I forgot in the Quicktime export settings?
Thanks in advance for your help
    Florence

OK, I tried again and again and again... and I finally know what I did wrong. The movie was exported from FCE with the fast start option, but then I opened in with Quicktime to make a small change (define the poster), and apparently this also removed the fast start option. Now I'll know not to change anything after the export :-/

  • Quicktime movies on the web

I have placed short quicktime movie clips on my website saved as H.264. Unfortunately some can see it others get nothing or just sound. File was originally created as DVCPro HD and exported as H.264 with 1000 bit rate and loaded on my site. Is there a particular format and settings to export with that everyone can view and that holds the same good quality as H.264
    http://www.ronfrankproductions.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/demo4.mov
    thanks.

Is there a particular format and settings to export with that everyone can view and that holds the same good quality as H.264
No such animal. No matter what compression format combination you use, there will always be someone out there who cannot or will not use the the required software to view your files. In the case of H.264/AAC, viewers are limited to those using QT 7 or an equivalent media player. MPEG4/AAC would allow you to extend compatibility back to QT 6 and equivalent players but it still does not guarantee any particular user will have the required software and means you would have to increase the video data rate to maintain the same level of quality. You will simply have to use whatever compression format you think will reach your primary target audience and not worry about the rest or offer the content in multiple compression formats and hope for the best.

  • View a movie on the timeline

Hi everyone - I've placed a movie on the stage and have set
keyframes throughout the timeline so that the movie will resize
(effectively zoom in) in various places.
It's pretty difficult to do this without constantly switching
back and forth between the movie edit mode and the stage.
Is it possible to view frame 10 of the movie when the
playhead is on frame 10 and I'm looking at the stage?
Basically I'd like to be able to see frames of the movie
while I'm working on the stage.
    Thanks

  • How to download/play movies on the web that 'require" Internet Explorer, et

OK, I locate a movie for playing or downloading on the web. I click on it, it comes back and says:
"This product requires Microsoft© Internet Explorer 6, Microsoft© Media Player 10, and Macromedia Flash 7."
Let's get real, gang. Do I download these things (claimed for free, but huge & slow to get), or do I tell something on my nice nifty OSX 10.4.3 to do it? Say, iMovie, or Preview?

    Hi Jay,
    hard to tell from remote....
MS IE is just another web browser, don't know, why Safari (or Firefox, mozilla, younameit) should browse that specific file....
MS mediaplayer - that is another cup of tea... my guess: the files you want to watch are in .wmv format, which is a) proprietary b) you need the wmv player OR try the plug-ins from www.flip4mac.com ( I suppose, they have a free "play only" plug...?? search for your own)
MM Flash 7 - no substitute for that, what makes me wonder, with your 10.4.3 system/Safari Flash contents should be shown "automatically".../mostly used for "effects" on websites as drop down menus etc....
    summary:
that website is badly programmed, obviously this website tests your combo and doesn't accept other things then MS products..
besides: iM ist not a player!! it's an edit app! for playback any media content, Quicktime Player is meant for... Preview is for stills....
try clicking on the file you want WHILE pressing the ctrl-key on your keyboard, the context menu should show you some download options; when file is on your hd, try to open file with QTplayer.......

  • What are the best settings for Quicktime movies on the web?

I've created a movie and exported it from IMovie. One version is 7.3 megs, and loads fairly quickly when I have it on a web page. I used broadband medium settings from IMovie to create it. I also created a file that is 19.3 megs using broadband high settings from IMovie. That file is way too big to load in a reasonable amount of time. Thing is, I can't stretch the 7.3 meg version (or don't know how) to make it any bigger. Is there a way I can make it bigger in the web page? Maybe that's a Dreamweaver question. Thanks.

You would need to add a few lines of code to your Web page and that depends on which html "style" you've used.
For the "object/embed" style code you would change your dimensions from those found in the source file to those you want to use in your page. Then add scale="tofit" in the embed tag code and param name="scale" value="tofit" in the object tag.
Don't forget to add 16 pixels to the height to show the movie controller (if used).

  • View Access Reports on the web Through Sharepoint?

I am using MS Access 2010 as a front-end to a 2008 SQL Server back-end.  Reports produced are complex and printed in PDF form.  I want to make them available for viewing on the web. This will prove very useful to customers that make changes to
the SQL data and want to see a new report.  The reports are already designed and saved in the MS Access database under various report names.
    Questions:
    1) How can I execute a saved MS 2010 Access Report from an asp page where the customer makes data changes?
    2) Once the new MS Access Report is created, how do I retrieve it to show to the customer?
I assume Sharepoint Server will work for this purpose, but after numerous web searches, I am confused about what I am seeing as to whether it can definitely do it or not.
FYI ... I also design web pages via Visual Studio 2010 if that makes a difference for integration purposes.
    Steve

The standard answer to this, is that you'll need to publish the database to sharepoint using Access Services.  Once your database is inside of SharePoint as a site, you still have to make sure that SSRS is functioning, because that's what's used in
the browser to display the reports.

  • Long movies on the web; are my assumptions correct?

Hello folks. I'd be very grateful if someone could tell me if my assumptions listed below are correct, or if I've missed something very obvious.
I recently did a number of half-hour videos for a client. Much to my surprise they requested them to be made available on the web. The videos were made at a conference with power point slides, so the quality needs to be fairly high for viewers to be able to see the details.
Here's my questions (the first one is my opinion, which I'd like confirmed?)
    1) it's not 'usual' (or sensible) to put 30 minute clips on the web--the files are simply too big.
    2) After much trial and error and hair loss, I finally came up with compression settings which allow a file of 100+mb for streaming. However, using FCE HD, each file takes about 2 hours to compress--I don't think there's a way of speeding this up, is there? I understand that more RAM won't really help?
    3) because the FCE HD system locks up every time I make a compression (so that I cannot do anything with FCE for the 2 hours it's compressing the file) I'm thinking of investing in something like Sorenson Compression Suite. My understanding is that this would compress files in the background while I keep working. Again, am I being thick here, or is this a sensible reason to buy the suite?
4)Final one! I believe that FC Studio allows batch processing. Because Sorenson costs $500 odd I wonder if it's more sensible to upgrade to FC Studio?
Sorry for the multiple confused questions. I haven't been able to find full answers to any of these questions on the forum, so apologies in advance if I've missed em

    Hello Conor -
I'll take a stab at answering your questions ...
1- That's up to you and the demands of your audiences. By sheer count, yes, most web videos are pretty short (<10 mins) but if you need yours to be longer, well, they need to be longer.
2- The time doesn't surprise me. And I suppose you are exporting to H.264 - which does take much longer to render than other formats. The only way to speed it up is choose a different compression scheme or get more/faster processors and to some extent more RAM. FCE's sweet spot is 2GB - 4GB RAM.
By the way, did you do Render All > Both and Render Only > Mixdown before you tried to export & compress your video? You should, and it will help with the export time.
3- Background compression sounds nice, but as a practice I wouldn't do it. Too many chances of some foreground process (read: other app) requiring CPU or I/O cycles just long enough to get you some dropped frames or worse. But that's just my considered opinion <grin>
4- Sorry, can't answer this one. But isn't FCS batch processing for capturing multiple clips? I didn't think it was for exporting finished video ...

  • Can I convert a book made in iPhoto to a quicktime movie for the web?

    Hi,
Please help, I have a great book that I have made in iPhoto and had printed but would like to post it to my mac website for people to be able to view with all the photos, titles, and audio. Is this possible?
    Thanks.
    Jim

    James:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. There are two ways you can do that.
While in the book mode, do a Print to PDF in the Print window but select the Send PDF to iPhoto option. This will start an Automator process that converts each page to a jpg file and imports it into a user determined album in iPhoto. NOTE: when the process is complete and it's time for you to name or select an album a window will be presented. BUT if often stays behind the other windows and you'll think the process has failed. So make sure you can hide the other windows if it doesn't present itself to you. It took me several tries before I realized what was happening.
Once the pages are in iPHoto as separate files, you can try:
1 - put them in an album and add to an iWeb photo page where they can be viewed individually or as a slideshow.
2 - create a slideshow in iPHoto, export to Quicktime and post that QT movie file to an iWeb page.
3 - create an iDVD project, add a slideshow and import the stills into iDVD to create a slideshow with music. A great gift to go along with a book. This method is explained in Tutorial #6.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
