View Maintenance disabled in development and quality

Hi,
In my development , except client 100 where I generate request, and in quality , i cannot maintain view maintenance data like fiscal period, exchange rate. Is anything missing from basis side. Also I have observed that exchange rate is creating a request in development where i generate transport request. But in production it is enduser functionality.

Client copy is the last option. I want you to ask your functional consultants to go through all the TP's which are transported, ask them to check modified object are transported or not?
You check the all the TP's return codes, this will give you idea of weather they are successful or not.

Development and Quality Assurance clients on the same instance

Hello,
Is possible to work in parallel with two clients: one for Development and the other for Quality Assurance on one SAP Solution Manager instance: SID?

It is possible and you can have DEV and QA on same server
We have at one location 2 server solman landscape in which we have DEV(100) and QA(200) on 1st server and PRD(100) on another server.

Hi and Welcome to the Forum!!
To select data from a table or a view you must use the SELECT sql command. Example to get the data from your view you can
select ZMATNUM,ZMATCUR,ZMATATTR from ZMATERIALAs you have said you are using SQL Developer just execute the above query in your sql developer and it will show the data. Right click the grid and export the data to excel file.

1. Do we have any tables to check A version of objects once the datasource moved to quality system?...
2. I have moved some datasources from development to quality system and in the log of the request i am seeing the error message like below

Tiff Viewer which disables print, copy and save TIFF file

I am looking TIFF Viewer solution which woul disable any print, save and copy functions for a TIFF file. Thisfunctionality is available for PDF but I need to disable print, copy and save for TIFF files.
Would anyone know a TIFF viewer or solution that supports the following functions:
1)      TIFF viewer where we can turn off any options to print the TIFF file or save it to disk. That would include disabling any options where the user could right click on the TIFF and save the file somewhere else.
2)      It would need to be able to open multi-page TIFFs.
3)      It would be nice if the TIFF viewer could be run on both Mac and Windows platforms.
I need to send files to users for view only, and these should be in TIFF fomat, not converted into a PDF.

You need a Digital Rights Management solution. Very expensive.

BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE behaving differently in development and quality

My program is behaving correctly in development system -
1. The program is run
2. Changes are made to material in MM02 transaction
3. In the program, a button is executed where I am calling a BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE, which returns values correctly, as per the material status (be it error or success)
In the Quality system it behaves incorrectly-
1. The program in run
2. Changes are made to material in MM02 transaction
3. In the program when the button is executed the BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE, seems to retain the earlier status. Recent changes to material are not reflected in the return parameter, no matter how many times I try.
4. When I restart the program, the BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE shows up the correct return values of the changes made in step 2.
Steps taken -
1. I have compared the versions of the code in both the systems and they are identical.
2. To be sure I once again transported the changes to the quality system, yet the problem remains.
3. I tried with a different data thinking it to be a problem with the data rather than the code, but the problem remains

Double clicking every entry gave - ' Status: Not yet updated'
Interestingly, in the Quality system, even after continuous refresh, the record does not get removed. However, the records in the Development system for the same situation, get removed, after four or five times refresh.
In Quality even after I restart the transaction, the records do not get removed from SM13, but again the code works correctly for the newly executed instance.
What is your opinion ?

After System copy all objects become modified state in Dev and Quality .

we have 5 source systems, recently we did system copy for 4 source systems but only one system alone not participated.
so now all objects in SS become modified state in development and quality.
earlier in Sys copy i faced the same problem in quality i will do the transport form dev to quality. but now in development itself its in modified state how can activate it?

Looks like system copy is not performed correctly.
But there are options like
go to source system
myself BW system right click actiuvate and replicate option
similarly for SAP R/3 source system.Right click and activate
then there are other transactions in case there are specific objects to be activated
RSDG_CUBE_ACTIVATE
RSDG_IOBJ_ACTIVATE
SO ON

SQL Developer and Blocking View of Other Users' Objects

I am using SQL Developer in a classroom environment. My student users can “see” Other Users objects. They cannot modify, but none the less can see the structure and data.
I only want the users to be able to see their own objects. Is there a privilege that needs to be revoked? (In using SQL Plus command line, this was not a problem.)

From sysdba account (sys/system). Run following and verify for that particular user grant is revoked. May be exit from sql developer and log back in or refresh view.
YOu can also potenially revoke all the privs from all non admin uses i.e.r even connect/resource roles and grant them back.
revoke select any table from yourschemaname;
revoke connect from schemaname;
revoke create session from schemaname;
revoke resource from schemaname;
Then just grant privs as need basis
grant connect to schemanme;
grant resource to schemaname;
grant create session to schemaname;

Changes and Logical Delete in View Maintenance

Hi everybody.
I've defined a table view maintenance V_TABLE for T_TABLE, with five fields. One of them is defined as 'R' (not editable field).
I defined an event 05 and an event 02 (for create and save) where I move SY-DATUM to the CREATED_DATE or UPDATE_DATE fields depending on it is a new record or a modification.
But if I modify several records only one is updated.
Besides, if the action is "delete" in the view maintenance, it must be a logical delete and move an 'X' to one of the editable fields.
Can you help me please ?
I can't see the action for each record in global tables.

Now, when I create new entries and select modify, hidden fields are updated.
But when I select the delete option, it must be a logical delete, not physical. I must update one field with an 'X', but not delete. Can you help me with this ?

Different view to develop and library module

Hello everyone, I have a big problem during my workflow, or when working images from the development at the end of the work as the images are like me and very sharp. But when I see in the library module are not sharp and the blacks are very mordibi. Below I post the link to see for yourself.

The problem is that when I export my image is identical to the form LIBRARY and not that beautiful clear form DEVELOPMENT. So I find myself not export images with crisp blacks and dishes.
I already tried to delete the cache, but does not change anything, and I use 1:1 previews, you have no idea how to fix my problem?

For most normal images and Masking settings you should use a Sharpening amount below '100.' There are two basic types–Capture and Output sharpening, each adjusted using separate controls. Slight Color and Quality Shift when viewing RAW files for first time in Library Module.

I have been shooting RAW for a while and have notice that after I import the images and then start to view them in the Library Module I will see a slight color and quality shift - almost looks like a white balance shift but not quite.   I was thinking that perhaps there was some automatic preset being applied but I don't have any presets at all.
I am shooting with a Canon 1DX as well as 7D. I have not checked to see if I get this situation with the 7D, but I know for sure that I get it with the 1DX.
Today I was reviewing some images in Bridge and decided to open one of them in Camera RAW.   At that time I discovered that the camera's Image Style Settings were available, Faithful, Standard, Portrait, etc. I noticed that the images did not have one of the camera styles applied to them but rather the Adobe Standard Style. At that point from within RAW I selected one of the camera's styles and bingo thats the kind of shift I am seeing when I first view an image in LR4 Library.
So as far as I can tell the RAW images are getting the Adobe Standard style applied in LR.   I have no idea if this is a default behavior of if I have done something to cause it. I'm also thinking that perhaps LR does not necessarily apply the Camera's Styles automatically even though the particular style has been set in the camera -- perhaps is not imported as part of the metadata during the import and thus defaults to the Adobe Standard.
I guess what I need to know is a few things and I hope someone can educate this newbie!
1. Should I expect LR4 to apply the Style as set from the camera automatically or not at all?
2. Can I prevent LR from applying the Adobe Standard Style and apply no style?
3. Can I cause LR to apply the Style as set in the camera for the particular image to be appied automatically upon import?

That sort of describes it and may be exactly what is happening. I have a shoot tonight and will pay closer attention to the process and behavior when I import.
It is the full image that I see the shift on though. Its not that the thumbnail and the full size image look different. It the full size image looking one way and then shifting in front of my eyes.
What is frustrating is that I typically find that the image before the shift is better than what appears after the shift, so I find myself always chasing to get back to where it was and because its gone I'm chasing an invisible ideal, so to speak.   Ahhh...isnt that the life of a photographer though!
It seems like its the last step in the render process -- if I could just figure out what it is and stop it I could finally figure out if I really care or not. Its just so quick its tough to tell if indeed the first appearance is better.
I'll feedback some more information when I get a better handle on this.

Data Type with reference and view maintenance

There are two questions that I want to ask.
1.     Error when referencing a table with data type = u2018STRINGu2019.
I have a Z table with some fields = u2018stringu2019, when I use this as a reference, an error prompted.
"ZTBL_ABC" must be a flat structure. You cannot use internal
tables, strings, references, or structures as components.-
2.     Error in generating the View maintenance for field length > 255.
Actually, I want to create fields with
1.     data type = char(255),
2.     data type = text
3.     data type = char(3000)
It is okay if I create the field with the selected size, however, when I generate the View maintenance (which can be access through SM30); it does not allow me to do so. It still not working if I change it into string. How can I create such table and use the table maintenance, as well as using that as the reference type of an internal table for another program?

1st of all a table which has a field of type string can be converted in to table maintenance because TM does not support string type as it becomes a very big field to be displayed on screen ... so u need to change that.
and then about the CHAR of length 3000 is too big ... to have a max limit of 255.
If you change this both u will be able to generate TM.
Incase after changing the field length it it gives error in activatin your table then go to SE14 put your table name EDIT and then Adjust n activate it....

Queries are not saved under any transport request.
We would have to go to transaction sq02 and click on the 'Transport' button ( with truck icon).
In the screen specify your query name, infoset name, and usergroup name and select the option 'Download'.
Save the downloaded file on your desktop.
In your quality or production system, go to SQ02 and click on teh same button,
select 'Upload' and specify the name of the query, infoset and usergroup which you want to upload.
Select the downloaded file.
Select the option 'Overwritting allowed' as applicable.

From the menu on top in SQVI or SQ01 transactions, choose Query -> More functions -> Generate program. Then choose Query -> More functions -> Display report name. This report is an ABAP report (just like any other ABAP program). Please check with an ABAPer if this report can be pushed into a Workbench Transport request, so you could then move it to QA and Prod.
