View options "none" is not working for my User
Yesterday, suddenly, I can't (1) drag a file to my user desktop, though I can save to it, (2) drag a file or folder to another place on the desk-top (a bar-in-circle forbidden sign appears). I can't CMD-drag either, or make an alias , or make a new folder. "Duplicate", "Make alias", and "New folder" are greyed out in the Finder file menu. I can delete, or drag into a folder in the dock.
Under "Show View Options", I can reorder the files, which all snap to the right, but "None" just reverts me to a previous lay-out (where I had the files before), but I can't drag them to another place.
This only affects my User. I have checked another User and the Guest User, and there is no problem.
I've repaired permissions. I've trashed mu User ~/library/application support/dock; ~/library/caches/com.apple.finder; ~/library/preferences/com.apple.finder.plist; ~/library/preferences/com.apple.doc.plist, all without success.
Where do I go from here? I'd be very grateful for help.
I'm using a new MacBook Pro (retina, 15- inch, Mid-2014), under OS 10.10

Fingerprint utility is not working for normal users - Tecra M11
Hi All,
I installed windows 7 pro in Tecra M11 laptop and the Toshiba finger print utility is not working for normal users.
It is working only for domain administrators. The TFPU is not working for, normal domain users, local users, local administrators. If we run the utility it will ask to enter the windows password and once we applied the password then the message saying "entered password is not valid" will prompt even if we are trying to use the utility first time.
If we try with a domain admin account it will work without any problem. Can somebody help me to trouble shoot this issue?
Thanks.People nowadays experienced that no matter How many times we glide our finger it have no response. In this instance, you might be very afraid of Windows password lost by reason that there is a plenty of important data on your PC.
Then what should you do? One choose is fix the Fingerprint scanners, but this method will cost a lot of money. The other is use the Windows password function to solve the problem. Certainly, this is a very safer, faster and easier to use method for you.
According my personal experience, you can try these three ways to re-access to your PC:
Method 1: Login with the default administrator account
* Step 1: Start Windows PC
* Step 2: When you can see the Windows login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys Twice and it'll show Classic Login box
* Step 3: Type Administrator as Username and leave the password field blank
* Step 4: Press the Enter Key and then you can be able to login the default windows administrator account which is it created by default when install windows.
*Note:* This trick is only work for Windows XP. And when you input the key combination Please don't put the cursor on any account. And if you change the name or password before, you cannot login by this way.
Method 2: Use the previous password reset disk
This method describes how to create and use a password reset disk for a computer that is a member of a domain. You can use a Windows password reset disk to gain access to your Microsoft Windows Professional-based computer if you forget your Windows password. Please click here to learn more.
Method 3: Using Windows Password Unlocker
Using Windows password remove software is could be the fastest and easiest way for you to reset your Windows password while you didn't create a password reset disk before.
There are 2 options for you: recover Windows password with a bootable CD/DVD or recover Windows password with a USB flash drive.
Before starting, a bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive and a computer with CD drive are required. (Internal CD drive and external CD drive are both OK.
Option 1: Recover Windows password by burning a bootable CD/DVD
Option 2: Recover Windows password by burning a USB flash drive
The whole Windows password recovery process can be divided to 3 big steps:
* >> Step 1: Burn a USB flash drive to remove lost Windows password
* >> Step 2: Set your target computer to boot from USB
* >> Step 3: Recover forgotten Windows password with the burned USB flash drive
In fact, all you need is a *Windows Password Unlocker www.passwordunlocker.com/windows-password-recovery.html which can help you directly reset your windows xp password, and then you can login your XP without a password required. Of course, there are also some other ways to do it, but this way may be most convenient one. -
Synaptics touchpad on HP Mini 110 Windows 7 32 Bit - not working for one user - working for another
Hi,
I recently have an issue with Synaptics touchpad on HP Mini 110 Windows 7 32 Bit - NOT working for one user - working for another.
Windows 7 updates recently installed ???
By checking the device properties on the user that works - "Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad 13/10/2011 Version 15.3.29.0"
When the other user logs on, the touchpad works for a few seconds, then a displays a black square with a red diagonal line through it, then the touchpad won't respond. Trying to use the keypad to navigate to system diagnosics or anything to find further info is useless....Hey eagle_no11,
Thank you for joining the HP Support Community!
I will do my best in assisting to hopefully get the TouchPad to work on the second user profile.
What I would like to start off with, is to restore the original Synaptics drivers onto the profile that is not working correctly. I have included the document Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 7).
Once you have installed the original drivers, you will need to complete all updates from both HP, as well as Windows. For these updates, if you open the HP Support Assistant, and select Maintain, you should see an option for updating.
Please let me know how these steps do work out for you.
Have a great day!

Thunderbird Mission Control Desktop/AutoConfig not working for some users
I have the file: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\defaults\pref\custom.js"
It contains:
pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0);
pref("general.config.filename", "TMcustom.cfg");
I have the file: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\TMcustom.cfg"
It contains:
var promptService = Components.classes["@mozilla.org/embedcomp/prompt-service;1"]
.getService(Components.interfaces.nsIPromptService);
promptService.alert(null, "title", "testing");
For most of my users the alert pops up fine when I start Thunderbird, but for a few it doesn't. All of the machines where setup with the same install script. If I log into one of the machines where it's not working as a different user, then it works fine, so I know the files are in the right spot. So why would it not work for specific users? Is there something in the user's Windows profile that could cause it to not work? Or are there any other suggestions? As it turns out this was a known bug that was corrected in the recent release of Java 7_65 and Java 8_11. Here is a link to the bug description in the database.

After Upgradation BPF is not working for some users
Hi All,
We have recently upgraded from BPC 5.1 to 7MS SP7. we are having multi server setup with one application / reporting server (windows 2003 and one sql server 2008 (windows 2003 64 bit).
Intially before upgradation we don't have any issues with BPF and it worked fine for all users. But post upgradation tasks within the BPF does not work for other users except for the first two people who first used it. Other users have the same rights as the ones who can access the tasks.
when they click on the link it gets them to eExcel and the right application but doesnt open the package or report assigned to the task. It doesn't give us any errors, on the status bar we get a message finalising but does not getting any thing.
Any inputs ??Hi,
Are you sure that those users have installed BPC 7 SP7 clients on their machine? Meaning that you uninstalled 5.1 clients and installed the new client from http://servername/Osoft?
If yes, you should maybe run a client diagnostic on the machines and also check the Management Console for any error messages.
Hope this will drive you to a potential solution.

MAM application is not working for some users
Hi All,
Tha MAM application is not working for some users.Different users have different workcenters other than that I dont see any other change. When I run MAM30_090_GETLIST in the backend I can see the no of customized users. But I cant see same no of users in the MEREP_207 table for the Syncbo MAM30_090 and strcture id TOP in the middleware. There is a data when I checked under worklist monitor for that user. But neither the MAM application nor MAM data is downloading to that device.
If I use different user on the same device I can see the MAM application and MAM data.
What could be the wrong in this case. Any help would be highly appreciated.
Mobile Client:MI 70 SP 15 Patch 0 Build 200802280918
Middleware:SAP NetWeaver 2004s with Patch leve 15
Backend:SAP ECC 6.0
Application:MAM 3.0
Thanks and Regards,
Ameer.Hi,
from your description the source of your issue is quite obvious: some of the MAM users configured in spro are not configured properly.
For T01 SyncBos the number of TOP records in merep_207 MUST be the same as number of headers returned by an appropriate getList FM in the backend.
You need to solve this before you can go any further.
Reason why a record is not recorded in MEREP_207 - getdetail failed for whatever reason. So execute MAM30_ML_getdetail for each of the users that is not replicated in the middleware and check if there are errors in RETURN table. If there is no error - one of the common reason for replication fail is when there are records in item tables that have duplicate primary keys.

</div>Hi,
In the “Property Mappings” of the Content Search Web Part, we can see that the Picture field will only display the value retrieved from “PublishingImage;PictureURL;PictureThumbnailURL”,
because there is corresponding column in OOTB Document Library holds the valid value of a thumbnail image for a document, that’s why documents from Document Library display no thumbnail image in a Content Search Web part.
If you want to display thumbnail images for documents of Document Library, you can add a custom Picture column to hold the thumbnail image of a document, set the “Property
Mappings” to display this custom Picture column.
By doing this, every time uploading a document to this library, setting a thumbnail image(provided by common users, not generated by SharePoint automatically) for
that custom Picture column, in the Content Search Web Part, the thumbnail image will display.
Thanks

Form Designed in LiveCycle will not work for End User
Please Help!
I am a newbie to Adobe LiveCycle but recognized the utility in the program, so decided to give it a while to try and streamline some of my employer's forms. After spending too much time learning how to design a form (much to the dislike of my boss), I am finally going to have to ask for some help. So here's the deal:
I've designed a dynamic pdf in LiveCycle with two master pages and two repeating flowed subforms. The first repeating subform is basically an expanding table intended to be used as a photographer's log where they can log each photo taken with the camera. The expanding table has some code with a button at the top for the end user to enter the number of photos on the photo roll, click submit, and table expands to however many instances of rows are needed for each photo that was taken. The second subform is basically an image field and text fields used as photo captions/photo compilation pages. When the end user clicks submit on the first subform to expand the table, I also have javascript in that click event to also create same amouint of instances of the second subform (the photo compilation page(s)). Each text field for the photo caption on the second subform is populated by the data entered into the photo log table cells. I was able to find a script to correctly populate those fields for each instance of the table. Wish I had the form here, but it's at work at the moment.
My problem is this: I've scratched and clawed to get all of the forms expanding correctly and the scripts populating each instance of the fields correctly and everything works great in LiveCycle preview. I then saved the form as PDF for use by my field crew personnel (whom all use, at the very least, Adobe Pro 9, but most Pro X). I sent the new form to them and they move it to their desktop, open it with Adobe Pro, and populate all of the fields and everything works swimmingly. However, once they save it, it gets all jumbled and they can't even print it. We even thought we found a workaround by entering all data and printing to PDF, but even that has turned out to not work. I checked to make sure that I designed and saved the form in LiveCycle for use with the Adobe Pro versions, but still not working for my end users.
Anyone have any thoughts on my long explanation?? Please HELLLLPPPP!The error(s) occur when trying to save the document. I want each user to tell the first page how many rows they will need in the photo log table, so they would enter however many photos were taken in the box: "Number of Photos on Roll:" ---> Then click the "Submit" cmd button. That should expand the table. Once it expands, it should also add the same amount of instances of the photo compilation page (2nd Page) as there are rows in 1st page table. Then the user will populate each cell of the table on page 1 with data. The data entered into the page 1 table cells will populate the text fields (photo caption) in Page 2 once the user clicks on the "Populate Captions!" cmd button in the lower left corner of the table on Page 1.
The problem is in the distributing of the form to the user so they can save the form after populating the data. I did a test run this morning and for some reason it did do the "print to PDF" correctly for 5 photos on the roll (though this has not been happening every time and especially for a large number of pages, ie. 80 photos). However, after entering the data for 5 rows on page 1 and then populating the 5 photo compilation pages, I saved a copy as "Save As PDF" and closed the document. Then re-opened the copy in Acrobat Pro X. The new copy:
-had 5 additional rows added to Page 1
-Duplicates of some of the fields
-Only retained the 1st instance of the Second Page (Photo w/ Caption) and not all fields were populated
Again, this all works fine in the LiveCycle Preview but not anywhere else. I do not have this set up to be linked to an external data source (YET) but there is javascript in the cmd buttons. I also do not want to distribute this form to end users and then collect the data back from them. I want them to be able to save a copy of my LiveCycle designed form, open in Adobe Pro, populate the data and save as many copies as needed for form production. -
Outlook autodiscover is not working for some users in coexistence
Hi
We are doing exchnage 2013/2010 coexistence
Most everything is ok BUT outlook autodiscover is not working for some exchange 2010 users now that 2013 is in the front!!!. We end up creating the profiles manually. It has affected some but not all the users.
I followed the instructions here but it didn't help.
http://blogs.technet.com/b/tips_from_the_inside/archive/2012/01/11/autodiscover-fails-for-one-or-more-users.aspx
Using outlook 2010, 2013, patches, .... didn't make a difference
Would you please help?
Thank youHi
If it is affecting only few handful of users i could suspect a mailbox corruption and would recommend to move mailbox and see the results.
Also you can try below
You need to set the values MaxFieldLength, MaxRequestBytes & MaxTokenSize to below on Exchange 2010 CAS servers as well as Exchange 2013 CAS servers
Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP\Parameters
Name: MaxFieldLength
Type: DWORD
Value: 65534
Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP\Parameters
Name: MaxRequestBytes
Type: DWORD
Value: 16777216
Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\Kerberos\Parameters
Name: MaxTokenSize
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 48000
Just reboot the servers once its done and you will be good to go.

MB Air two finger scroll does not work for a user but does for another
Hi
MB Air. 10.9.3.
Defective Trackpad was just replaced. Two finger scroll does not work for the main user. I made a test log in and two finger scroll works. I booted off an external drive and two finger scroll works.
I pulled all of the user preferences out, logged out and in and still does not work. Zapped PRAM. Checked all trackpad settings. No luck.
Tried this in Terminal:
defaults write -g com.apple.trackpad.scrollBehavior 2
Any ideas? This sounds strange but check the settings in Settings>Accessability for the track pad. I belive your problem lies there not in Track Pad set up in Settings.

Outlook Anywhere not working for some users
Hi All,
I am having a strange issue today with a customer -
Outlook Anywhere has been enabled on their Exchange 2010 environment, but it doesn't work for some users.
Using the ExRCA I have been able to identify the following error on the users who are unable to connect:
"Testing the MAPI Mail Store endpoint on the Exchange server."
"Attempting to log on to the mailbox"
Mailbox logon returned ecLoginPerm 1010. You don't have the correct permissions to log in to the mailbox.
EMSMDB Status: ecLoginPerm 1010
Elapsed Time: 225 ms.
On users that are able to connect it goes through the ExRCA without any issues.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Jack

Hi Everybody. I have a weird one for you.
I have a user that gets an "operation failed" message whenever trying to use the "resend" option on any email (It's the one right under recall). I had tested up and down on her machine. Exchange 2010 Outlook 2013
Ran in safe mode, recreated her profile, disabled virus scanning, repaired office. (weird, the font just changed sizes on me)
After all of this I tested on other computers, other users seem to be able to "resend" just fine. However her account does not work on any computer I try, internal or external to the network.
It looks more like a profile issue.
She's a very active archivist, so she only has 486MB of space used by her mailbox.
It's well under quota.
It's been really puzzling me.
MCSE 2003, Exchange. MCTS Vista, 7. Administrator of awful, neglected website http://timssims.netHi Timssims,
Since there is only one user in the org has this issue, it seems an issue on the Outlook client side.
I suggest asking Outlook Forum for help so that we can get more professional suggestions.
For your convenience:
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/home?forum=outlook
However I also have some suggestions for your reference:
1. If this issue occur on Cached Mode, I suggest turning to Online Mode for testing.
2. Please also paste the detailed error message if "operation failed" is not the
complete information.
3. If still not works after perform operations above (including suggestions from Outlook Forum), I suggest re-creating a new mailbox for the specific user just as Martin suggested.
Thanks

Show View Options (DEFAULT) DOES NOT work
I'm pulling out my hair trying to get my Finder "show view options" to default. This worked fine in Leopard, but in Snow Leopard, the make "default" option doesn't seem to work. I'm using an erase and install version of Snow Leopard. I've used Cocktail and SWIPE to delete all DS_Store files and still it seems the default option won't work.
I can choose my settings, then make default. Some folders will accept it and others won't. I've searched the web and see others with the same problem. Is there an easy solution? Switching through folders only to have different finder views is really annoying.
BryanThanks KT-- I finally got it. After using Cocktail, DS_Store Terminator, another app, and a terminal command, then finally a restart, all seems well. I finally have all of my finder windows to my default view.
I'll bet Cocktail and then a restart would have worked though, but I didn't restart until the last step.
Anyway, it's good now.

Corporate connectivity not working for some users
Hi,
I'm having an issue that started about a month ago but is getting worse. A select group of users are no longer able to connect using DirectAccess, even though these users have been using their computers for a few months without issue.
BACKGROUND:
-Windows 2008 R2 DirectAccess server
-Windows 7 x64 enterprise clients
-Most clients experiencing the issue have a newer laptop (Lenovo T440 with Intel 7260AC wireless), but the issue is not limited to this model. Also, I have 25+ other Lenovo T440 units that connect without issue to this day.
TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS:
I have tried disabling the various interfaces used for directaccess on these problem machines and have not been able to narrow it down. Essentially- I've noticed the IP-HTTPS interface shows deactivated, so I'll disable Teredo. This
usually allows the IP-HTTPS to show activated, and connectivity is restored. However, after 30 seconds to a few minutes, connectivity will once again drop. So I'll re-enable teredo (default, client, or enterprise client) and connectivity will kick
on for another brief period, but drops again shortly after.
I have confirmed that during these short periods of connectivity working, the wf.msc shows connectivity using NTLM and Kerberos, but the clients just can't seem to stay connected on any interface.
However, in the wf.msc when the clients are not functioning, I only ever see one NTLM entry.LOGS:
Below is a directaccess client log pulled from a non-functioning client before making any changes or any testing. Feel free to ask for the rest of the log if needed-- I have put in place holders for information that may be sensitive. Thank you!!
RED: Corporate connectivity is not working.
Windows is unable to relocationve corporate network names. Please contact your administrator if this problem persists.
