View permissions

I must be missing something. I just started using Aperture and created 2 albums, then posted them to MobileMe - all well so far. I then created a list of people I want to be able to view them and was puzzled that I could not add in the 'MobileMe Settings' 'Edit Users and Passwords' dialog the albums I wanted them to view (I click on the cell and cannot do anything and the cells are blank). So I just created a list of people and then went back to the settings dialog. Here I could only select one viewer at a time, not multiple people? What am I missing?

Hi,
From your description, I recommend you use the following cmdlet to verify who have permissions to the mailbox datebase at first. And then check if new users are members of these listed groups.
Get-ADPermission -Identity "Mailbox Database identity" |ft user,accessrights
Hope this can be helpful.
Best regards,
Amy Wang

because this user only create list items only  he will not edit the list item.
    adil

    Hello adil,
If user is having "Add Items" rights then item ID should be created automatically and this is auto generate column in list.
Why you are using "update list item action"? Are you updating any other field?
If updating any other column value then add Impersonation steps in your code to update item.

You need to enable the DTR administrator plugin in NWDS to be able to do this. See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/01/72a43f4aa1330ee10000000a114084/frameset.htm for more info.

  • Exchange 2013 CU3 Can't view permissions on mailbox in EAC

Recently upgraded to CU3.  I'm not sure if my EAC problems are due to that or something else.  I could have swore this worked before, but I am not 100% positive.
If I go to "Recipients > Mailboxes > Properties on a mailbox > Mailbox Delegation" it says "Please wait...".  It stays like that for about 15-20 seconds, then finally comes back with:  "error.  Your request
couldn't be completed.  Please try again in a few minutes".  I hit OK and the boxes for Send As, Send on Behalf, and Full Access are all empty.
I can view permissions on that same mailbox with PowerShell.
Also, if I do the same process for a Distribution Group, then that works okay in EAC!

  • All folders - view permissions

I'm trying to grant users the minimum permissions they need to work with their reports. Granting Full Control permission on the folder containing their reports doesn't seem to work, because without View on the All Folders list, they can't even see the folder to access the reports. However, if I grant View on All Folders, they have access to all the folders until I go through and explicitly remove them. Am I missing something, or is this the way it's supposed to work?
    Thanks.
Edit: Oh, I see -- I was misreading the "inherit from parent" checkboxes. If I turn those off, they only apply to the folder I'm setting them for, which is the behavior I wanted. Thanks anyway!

No, that's not right. Damn. Sorry. What am I doing wrong?
Edit: Ok, got it that time. I wasn't telling it to only apply "View" to the current object.

  • Portal Menus and Viewing Permissions

    Hello and Happy Holidays!
At our Company we are considering using Portal Menus to allow
users to navigate through forms and applications they use for
daily work. The problem that we are faced with is that our
Developers need to be able to see what menu items individuals
have access to and at the same time NOT be able to alter the
code or permissions. We have tried a variety of different
permissions settings, but cannot seem to allow "view only"
access to the code and permissions for Portal menus.
Any suggestions on how to accomplish this through Portal
permissions or through scripts to get the data from tables?

    Which version are you using?
Have you checked the "About" link of menu?
Clicking on this will bring the Menu with SubMenus.
Click on different SubMenus to see the details.
If you are not able to solve this then pls post your reply again.
    Thanx,
    Chetan.

  • Access to Recordings with View Permissions

I have created a single sign-on app for our Sakai users who
are already authorized to single sign-on into Adobe Connect,
creating the required folders and if need be user account on the
    fly.
My issue lies in the fact that these students cannot access
the saved recordings by default. I can't rely on the professors to
change the default permissions for every class that is recorded. Is
there a way for me to default ALL recordings to public or to give
users the ability to view the non-public recordings without giving
    them further rights/access?

    Hi,
Why dont you grant non admin user to RDP to the server, with that settings user will not have the privilege to change anything,

  • File view permissions not working in Rel 1

I'm part of a team setting up a new portal; Oracle 9iAS rel 1.
I have a portlet which is really a view into a folder called Social Events. Under Folder Style > Access, permission is granted to the company group: View Content, Manage Items, and this access has been cascaded down to all sub-folders. "Make Public" is left blank. "Enable Item Security" is left blank.
Within the folder are two sub-folders. Summer 2002 Picnic & Chili Cook-Off, 11/02
Within each are general files and a sub-sub-folder (Photos): under General is the event flyer, and after the event occurs, photos will be uploaded.
This portlet is on the Home page. Everyone is a member of the company group; and the company group can Customize (add only) anything on the Home page.
The trouble is, when my users click on the flyers (.ppt or .doc files), the files do not open.
I have had to reset the folder access to "Make Public" so that people can click on and open the files.
We definitely do not want our files open to the general public. (actually, we don't care about these particular files, but do about all the others soon to be uploaded)
    What am I doing wrong??
    Thanks,
    Sheri
    [email protected]

Deepak, thank you for the link. Unfortunately, that thread hasn't helped me. Notice that I've gone so far as to do the following:
    1. In NQSConfig.ini, I've changed the DEFAULT_PRIVILEGES to NONE
    2. In the repository, under Manage Identity, I've set all access rights for this column to NO ACCESS for every user and every application role. I've manually clicked No Access for every single Application Role and every single User on every row, including the Everyone row.
    3. Restarted BI Server
In theory, that very severe two-step action should make the column disappear from every user. Nobody should be able to see it. Would you agree?
However, the column is still visible to everybody.
If I include the column in an analysis, it returns no results, just a column heading and empty cells, so at least that's a good thing. Still, it shouldn't be visible at all in the Subject Area.

  • Remote Control Viewer Permissions (Standalone)

For the moment, we are allowing our Field Services / Service Desk personnel to remote machines using a packaged standalone CmRcViewer.exe.  We've gotten the reg keys added that will enable auditing, however, we've noticed a minor issue:
All users have the ability to remote, regardless of what security is set in SCCM.   So much that only one team (of 8 people) has Remote Control permissions, yet everyone is still able to use it without SCCM stopping them.
I have tried adding the site system into the command line launch parameters (CmRcViewer.exe computer \\sitecode), no luck.
My test user (which only has local admin rights, no permissions at all in SCCM) is still able to remote any machine.
    Am I missing something?

Yes. Local admins on the target boxes are always granted permissions to remote control the system.
    Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de
So to be clear, when running in standalone, permissions within SCCM have no bearing on the use of the tool, correct? Only local admin rights? Multiple guides I read online about using CmRcViewer said the permissions had to be granted in SCCM (Remote Tools Operator)
    - looks like they may have been wrong.

  • MobileMe View Permissions

I have posted before but got no response so I thought I would try rewording. I must be missing something. I just started using Aperture 3 and created 2 albums, then posted them to MobileMe (using Aperture) - all well so far. In Aperture I then created a list of people I want to be able to view these albums in the Aperture 'MobileMe' 'Settings' 'Edit Users and Passwords' dialog. However back in the main 'Settings' dialog I can only select one person at a time to view the Album? If I select a second person the first one is deselected? What am I missing? Thanks

If you want a group of people to have access, you typically will create a "group" rather than a bunch of individuals. So if you only want your family to be able to access the photos, name the "Album viewable by:" section "Family" and give it a password. You would then send the user name and password to all of them. Make sense?
You can keep all these stored. A family one, a group of friends one, a single person, etc.

  • Problem Viewing DTR Permissions - Failure getting ACL file

This is an NW04S-SP13 Standalone J2EE with EP and DI Usage Types.
NWDI has been setup using the "ESS Cookbook".
The Dev Conifg was imported from the ESS track and NWDS project was created from the ESS DCs but we could not change any objects.
Looking further, we noticed that we when we were in the DTR Repository browser in NWDS and used the context message to "View Permissions" on any object that we get the message:
"Getting ACL file failedGet object id of version failed"
Did anyone ever see this error message?
    TIA ... Bart

    Akshatha,
Yes, that was the strange thing ... I was using the same user to logon directly to the DTR as I was using from the Development Perspective of NWDS.
The issue seems to have been solved since I started using a different "client" from NWDS.
When I reported this problem, I had been using the client "All_Workspaces".   It looks like I should have been using the client <SID>_<Trackname>_D.
When logging in from Dev Perspective of NWDS, it was not clear which client was being use (I didn't choose).
In looking at the XML files that define those clients, I could see that there were no "mountpoints" for ACLs in "All_Workspaces" like there were in client <SID>+<Trackname>_D.
Let me know if you have any other insights.
In any case, this seems to be solved and I will close this thread shortly ... Bart

  • View creation in SE11

would anyone please explain how to create views in SE11 with screen shots
    Thanks in advance

    Hi sunnype,
First you read the below then you can see SE11.
    Here i explained shortly.
    View
    Definition
A view describes the layout and behavior of a rectangular area of a user interface.
    Use
Every Web Dynpro application has at least one view. The layout of a view is made up of different user interface elements, which can be nested in each other. The positioning of interface elements in one view is supported by the supplied layout variants.
In addition to the visible part, the layout, a view also contains a controller and a context. The data to which the elements of the view can be bound are stored and managed in the view context, enabling them to be represented or used on the screen. The view controller can contain methods for data retrieval or for processing user input.
Multiple views can be classified in view sets.
A view also has inbound and outbound plugs so that views can connected with each other, or so that a view can be linked with an interface view. These plugs can be linked with each other using navigation links.
    Empty View
The empty view is a special type of view. It is always generated automatically in a window or a view set area, provided that no view has been embedded manually. It may also be preferable to embed an empty view in a non-empty window as well. Just like a normal view, the empty view occupies a certain area of a window at runtime and can be used to hide a different view, for example, using specific controls.
When you create an empty view, an inbound plug with the default name ShowEmptyView is created.
And read the below these views also
    Views
Data about an application object is often distributed on several tables. By defining a view, you can define an application-dependent view that combines this data. The structure of such a view is defined by specifying the tables and fields used in the view. Fields that are not required can be hidden, thereby minimizing interfaces. A view can be used in ABAP programs for data selection.
The data of a view is derived from one or more tables, but not stored physically. The simplest form of deriving data is to mask out one or more fields from a base table (projection) or to include only certain entries of a base table in the view (selection). More complicated views can comprise several base tables, the individual tables being linked with a relational join operation. See also Join, Projection and Selection.
The base tables of the view must be selected in the first step of a view definition. In the second step, these tables must be linked by defining the join conditions. It is also possible to use the join condition from a foreign key defined between the tables (see  Foreign Key Relationship and Join Condition). In the third step, you must select the fields of the base tables to be used in the view. Selection conditions that restrict the records in the view can be formulated in the fourth step.
Four different view types are supported. These differ in the way in which the view is implemented and in the methods permitted for accessing the view data.
Database views are implemented with an equivalent view on the database.
Projection views are used to hide fields of a table (only projection).
Help views can be used as selection method in  search helps.
Maintenance views permit you to maintain the data distributed on several tables for one application object at one time.
Database views implement an inner join. The other view types implement an outer join (see Inner and Outer Join).
The join conditions for database views can be formulated using equality relationships between any base fields. The join conditions for the other view types must be obtained from existing foreign keys. Tables therefore can only be combined in a maintenance view or help view if they are linked to one another with foreign keys.
The maintenance status defines whether you can only read data with the view or whether you can also insert and change data with it.

  • Can't view document in library and I have View/Read Access

Hello,  I have a document library that has unique permissions to edit and above but our "AllUsers" in our Active Directory has Read/View permission but those users cannot see 1 particular file in that library.  This issue is driving me
crazy and I feel that I have spent way too long on what I believe I should of been able to solve quickly!  :o)  All other users that have edit and above access to the library can see and open the document and as far as I can tell it is not currently
checked out to any one user either.  Does anybody have ANY ideas on what the issue is and what I can try or look at, I will do anything at this point!  :o)  We are Windows 7 / SharePoint 2013 and O365.  Thanks in advance for your help!
    Joan

    Hi Joan,
According to your description, my understanding is that the user who have read/view permissions were not able to see one particular file in a library in SharePoint 2013 Online.
Please go to the problematic library, check whether you enabled versioning as Library Settings->Versioning settings->Document Version History. If yes, in Draft Item Security section, select ‘Any user who can read items’, then click OK.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • Can't copy files from NTFS volume with Read Only permissions?

I am trying to copy files from an NTFS volume used previously for Windows onto another volume which is Mac OS X Extended...
However, certain files fail to copy due to the fact that I 'don't have permission to access some of the items'...
So I found the items which are causing the issue and viewed the permissions for them which display as 'You can only read'... I presume I am correct taking these as read-only permissions which (to my knowledge) should allow the files/folders to be copied accross to a new volume assuming that the existing volume is left without any changes attempted.
So can anyone suggest to me why this is? And how I might rectify the issue?
    Thanks in advance

Ok I've just worked out that 'You can only read' is referring to the fact that I can only view permissions but not add any. Below this statement, no permissions are listed which may explain why I cannot access the files but does not explain why I can copy/access some files, also with no permissions...

  • Users prompted to log in to view public pages

I have a page in my app called "publicHome.jspx". It has a pageDef file for it. In the Application | Secure | Resource Grants, I've granted View access to that page to the "anonymous-role" role. This should mean that anyone can view the page without being prompted to log in.
However, when users go to that page, they are redirected to the login page to log in. This is the problem; this is not expected behavior.
I've found that if I remove the pageDef file for publicHome.jspx, then users can go to the page without being prompted to log in. This is expected behavior, since pages without a pageDef file are not secured by ADF.
If I then create a new pageDef (empty, with no bindings), then re-grant View permissions to "anonymous-role", users are prompted to log in once again. (The problem is repeatable.)
This does NOT happen on the Embedded WebLogic Server that comes with JDev (v11.1.1.5.0, BTW). It only happens when we deploy it to a standalone WebLogic (v10.3.5) server. I've tried deploying it to multiple standalone WL servers - it fails on all of them. (So, it doesn't seem to be a problem with my WL setup.) And, to really make it worse, it used to work - something changed to cause this, and I can't figure out what!
I've verified that the "anonymous-role" is NOT defined in my jazn-data.xml file, since I know that triggers an endless loop bug.
I'll be happy to post any config files that might be of use - just let me know which ones you'd like to see.
Thanks in advance for any help!
    Karl

    Hi,
can you try starting the stand alone WLS instance in development mode (which makes it to be the same as the embedded server).
    See
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs100/medrec_tutorials/devmode.html
See: Step 2: Edit the server startup file.
In a command-line shell, move to the root directory of the MedRec domain:
Open the setDomainEnv.cmd (Windows) or setDomainEnv.sh (UNIX) script in a text editor:
Look for the line that sets the PRODUCTION_MODE script variable:
    set PRODUCTION_MODE=false
