View Process Peak on SCOM 2012 Console

Hi guys,
I need your help for the following question.
Is there any way to view in SCOM 2012 Console the process that generates a memory o disk peak on a monitored machine? Until now, only I can see an alert for the resource peak, but I can't identify the process that generates it.
Regards,
Rodrigo

SCOM does not monitor the memory usage per process base. If you want to do it, you should create a custom rule.

To enable high availability for your Operations Manager Data Access service, you can use Network Load Balancing (NLB)

For some reason when I bring up the SCOM 2012 Operations Manager console on my PC I only see the views of another user I set up. If I remote console to the SCOM server I see all the views I am supposed to. I tried rebooted my PC and deleting the SCOM console

  • Copy\Paste Views not working in SCOM 2012 R2 console

    Dear Concern,
Hi, I am using SCOM 2012 R2 and i have come across a problem that when i copy a view and try to paste it in same management pack, the paste action is not working. Cut and paste is working fine but copy paste not working. When i copy any view, the paste option
come alive but did not work when i clicked on it.
Has anyone tried and tested it?
    Regards,
    Jazeel Ahmed Siddiqui

    Hi,
I have tested it in my SCOM 2012 SP1 Environment and it worked there from Sealed to Unsealed and Unsealed to Unsealed.
I have no R2 Environment in reach at Moment so i cannot test it there.

  • SCOM 2012 Issue The Data Access service is either not running or not yet initialized

    Hello All,
My SCOM 2012 console all of sudden stopped working when I changed the size of the SQL database for the SCOM server.
The setup is all on a virtual machine running windows 2012, with SQL 2012 running SCOM 2012 SP1. Everything was working until I made the SQL server database size change.
Now I am getting an error when I try to open the SCOM 2012 console. It just says Failed to connect to server servername.internaldomain.com The Data Access service is either not running or not yet initialized. Check the event log for more information.

  • Only showing APP monitoring Reports in SCOM 2012 Reporting

    Hi all,
Recently i upgrade the SCOM 2012 from 2007 R2 Managament Server only because in previous environment we have only one MS server and SQL server 2008 SP2.
Now i have 4 servers for SCOM 2012.
    1) SCOM Managament server (which was upgraded)
    2) SQL server 2008 SP2 (running 3 instances)
    3) SCOM ACS server (New installation)
    4) SCOM Reporting server (New installation)
    I have using two accounts
    1) SCOM.action 2) SCOM.sdk
When i install reporting, reporting Tab are showing in the SCOM
2012 console but only Application monitoring reports are showing in Reporting. I was deleted some MP’s and then import it but the report are not imported in reporting tab. I also check SSRS, it works fine. Both SSRS url’s works fine.
I don’t know whats the problem.. Please clarify me what’s the problem.????
    Regards,
    Kamran

    Hi Muhammad,
I am also facing the exact issue as expalined above.
Even the application monitroing reports are not working. When i try to launch application monitoring reports from reportmanger , I get dataset error and see that apm.* views are missing.
Also tried deleting and importing the managementpacks, without any success. This issue is happening only in production environment.
It will be very helpful if you can let us know what Account permisisons need to be checked for. Thanks in advance.

  • External Web Console Access SCOM 2012 R2 - An unexpected error has occured.

    Hello,
I have an issue when accessing the Web Console for our SCOM 2012 R2 environment - I have installed the web console on a standalone machine with mixed authentication - i have windows authentication enabled and NTLM is at the top of the providers list. I have
gone through the process of registering the SPN's and configuring constraint delegation. The SSL settings are ticked on the Default Web Site, the Monitoring View and the Operations Manager.
I have followed the article below when performing the install:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh298606.aspx#bkmk_toconfigurepermissionsinheritanceforthewebconsole
I have also reviewed the information here and the information provided on the attached document on this page but the issue remains: http://blogs.technet.com/b/momteam/archive/2008/01/31/running-the-web-console-server-on-a-standalone-server-using-windows-authentication.aspx
When we try to log into the Web Console remotely it appears to load to 100% but then brings up the error:

  • SCOM startup console dashboard view

    Hi!
I'm testing the SCOM console with the /Viewname: parameter when I start the SCOM console, to get the correct console view directly. This is something that the customers asking for.
Most of the time we use dashboard to get the correct overview screen, so I want to use different dashboards as startup views.
I have following the information from Stefan Roth
    http://stefanroth.net/2012/09/28/scom-2012-scom-console-parameters-how-to/
I can also see that many others have the same problem as I have with dashboard. I get the internal name from all views throught the powershell command or directly from the MPs, except from dashboards. From the command I do not
get any response and when I use the data from the MP, example Microsoft.SQLServer.Presentation.DatabaseSummaryDashboard
or UIGenerated_38a8b031..._AllAlertsOverviewOverride with the /Viewname: parameter I only get the output on that
I don't have permission to access the view...
Someone that have any solution on this problem?

  • SCOM 2012 Operations Manager Failed to start a process

We have recently upgraded from SCOM 2007 to SCOM 2012. We are not getting a great deal of “Operations Manager Failed to start a process”. The process varies including:
    DiscoverSQL2008ASDiscovery.vbs
    DiscoverSQL2008DBEngineDiscovery.vbs
    DiscoverSQL2008ASDiscovery.vbs
    Microsoft.Windows.Server.NetwokAdapter.BandwidthUsed.ModuleType.vbs
I have researched and researched. I know that you can try to run the scripts locally on the machine but it seems the scripts never make it to the machine. I go to the path in the error, no luck. I look in the other folders as I know that SCOM moves the scripts,
and I even search the entire C drive but the scripts are not getting to the server. The folder is not even making it. For example:
    Command executed: "C:\Windows\system32\cscript.exe" /nologo "Microsoft.Windows.Server.NetwokAdapter.BandwidthUsed.ModuleType.vbs" SERVER true Working Directory: C:\Program Files\System Center Operations Manager\Agent\Health Service State\Monitoring
    Host Temporary Files 11606\1759\
The script is not there and the folder \1759 is not there either.
I have removed and reinstalled the client.
Antivirus is fine, up to date and not blocking on any of the machines.
I have stopped the “System Center Management service” and renamed the “Health Service State” folder and it recreates fine but not long after I get the warning in SCOM about “Operations Manager Failed to start a process”.
I look in event viewer for Operations Manager on this particular one and I see a lot of:
Performance data from the Health Service could not be collected since required registry keys could not be read, the error was 2L (The system cannot find the file specified.). Event ID 6001.
    I tried the fix of
"lodctr MOMConnectorCounters.ini" and "lodctr HealthServiceCounters.ini" but I get “error
encountered while updating text in registry. Status: 0”. Again I am using SCOM 2012.
Do I need to look at each failed script or is there a overall issue because the scripts are not making it to the machines. Any ideas?

I guess you might need to run "mofcomp sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof".
    Thanks, S K Agrawal

  • SCOM 2012 Open Custom Dashboard directly in Console

I wanted to display a dashboard on a big Screen .
I was looking for options and with the help i could find , we could open it using Web console on the TV , or Sharepoint Site or Visio diagram
then i found we could open the particular view directly using SCOM console (If it is installed)
    Using something like: Microsoft.MOM.UI.Console.exe /ViewName:View_f0e6e6d99131451985140cb5f020028e.
This is valid for SCOM 2007 R2
Is there an similar option for SCOM 2012, I want to to show a particular dashboard that we created using this method.
    I am following this article
    http://www.peppercrew.nl/index.php/2011/04/scom-open-view-direct-in-console/

I tried this $mg.GetMonitoringViews() | where {$_.displayname -like "*My Distributed
    App*" | select Name
However i am not able to fetch the Distributed Application view that i created.
Is distributed application different from View. I somehow aint able to find it when using the Powershell or SQL
I even tried to fetch from SQl Database as well  using http://www.peppercrew.nl/index.php/2011/04/scom-open-view-direct-in-console/

  • SCOM 2012 SP1 Test environment - "New View" is greyed out?

    I'm new to SCOM....
I just created a SCOM 2012 SP1 test environment, but for some reason the "New View" button is greyed out. (I attached a screenshot)
I can't figure out why and it pretty frustrating. I'm assuming it is a permissions issue, but I can't figure out how to get this feature enabled.
    any assitance is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
The "New View" is greyed out if you try to create a new View in a sealed Management Pack.
You can create a new View only in unsealed Management Pack's inside the console.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the web console.
I cheked the pre-requisites, also configure permissions inheritance for the web console.
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello,
I have the same error as above when accessing the Web Console for our SCOM 2012 R2 environment - I have installed the web console on a standalone machine with mixed authentication - i have windows authentication enabled and NTLM is at the top of the providers
list. I have gone through the process of registering the SPN's and configuring constraint delegation.
I have followed the article below when performing the install:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh298606.aspx#bkmk_toconfigurepermissionsinheritanceforthewebconsole
When we try to log into the Web Console remotely it appears to load to 100% but then brings up the error:
    An unexpected error has occured

  • SCOM web console - Performance View Time Range

    Hi,
I am trying to change the default time range from 24hrs to 48hrs. I have searched for solution, however, all of them are same as this, and it didn't work for me.
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/bae50efb-7de3-4e60-bb07-13019fb3f432/web-console-performance-view?forum=operationsmanagergeneral
Has this solution worked for anyone using SCOM 2012 SP1? I made the change to 48hrs, after a iisreset, it is still showing 24hrs.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

I want to know which web.config file , you are modify.
    There are two web.config
    1) c:\program files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Operations Manager\WebConsole\webhost: not working by adding <add key="PerformanceHourBefre" value="48" />
    2) c:\program files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Operations Manager\WebConsole\MonitoringView: it is working by adding <add key="PerformanceHourBefre" value="48" />
