View Source: Blank screen

Hi,
When I View Source on any web page, I get a white screen, then a QuickTime play bar and then a white screen again.
I have Monaco installed, everything is up-to-date. I've deleted Perian just in case.
Any ideas?

Perian is not the problem; it's not even related to what you're trying to do, so deleting it does no good for you.
This appears to be a problem with Safari 3.1.2 or higher. But you can still view the source by enabling the Develop menu in Preferences > Advanced, then using that menu item to choose "Show Error Console", which will then let you select the page you're viewing and see the source code.

Connecting a h.264 DVR security camera system to remote viewing through my ip address/port. This works with ie but not with firefox. On ie I get a similar tab "netvideo" and a window opens showing my DVR connection, cameras, and can operate all remotely. On Firefox I just get the "netvideo" tab but a white blank screen. The application needed to show/operate my DVR is missing from firefox. How can I make the connection operate with firefox? Seen somewhere that firefox is missing a cab for this?

Sorry, Mozilla doesn't support the patent-encumbered and royalty-encumbered H.264 standard, they support the OGG/Theodora and WebM free open source standards.
Microsoft has a H.264 plugin for Firefox, but it is for Windows7 not WinXP or Win Vista. <br />

There may be other H.264 Firefox plugins out there for WinXP, so do a Google search. Or maybe contact support for that DVR security system and see if they know of or have a Firefox plugin.

When viewing documents on a Web Server, IE automatically opens a blank page and then opens the document in the default program. The blank screen should close automatically but isn't happening.

So here is the situation, my company uses a third party scanning software, that puts documents scanned or created onto a webserver. We use a program that grants a user access to view the documents on the webserver. The user will have to log into the system
using credentials, we have Kerberos doing this. Once the user is logged onto the system they navigate to the document they want to view or edit. So the user wants to view a .pdf file, they click the document they want, and it is supposed to open in the default
program associated with file extension. ie: .doc would open Word, .xls would open Excel. When the document is loading in the default program Internet Explorer opens a blank page, this page is supposed to prompt the user if they want to open or save the document.
(I changed the registry to have the files selected to automatically open without this prompt.) The blank screen generated is still staying open, this screen is supposed to close automatically after the prompt or close automatically after the document is opened.
So when a user is looking at several documents, this floods the screen with all these blank Internet Explorer pages. This problem is only occurring for users that have Windows 7 PC's, XP users do not have this problem at all. My PC is the only one in the company
that is Windows 7 64-bit, and working properly with the IE blank page automatically closing. I'm wondering what can be done to fix this problem, is it as simple as registering some .dll files or do I need to make a registry change? Any help would greatly be
appreciated.

What is the registry change exactly? Sounds like one which is supposed to avoid the prompt. I know
that there used to be such a thing, before the new prompt and I know that some users think that there should be such a thing for any program but I'm not sure if that expectation is valid or not. I think this may also be related to a concurrent change
in the OS. E.g. in XP we had File Types Options editor but starting in Vista that was removed. You might get some more clues on this tack from NirSoft's FileTypesMan utility.
The registry change that I did was to remove the open and save prompt. I will be sure to look into that. Our company
isn't worried about the user's automatically opening the files since they are all trusted. They also do not have the ability to install anything, so if they were to download a potentially harmful file they could never install it. We monitor downloads as well,
if they download files off the internet that aren't work related we remove their download capabilities.
Sounds like a scenario for using ProcMon to take two traces and compare them for their essential differences.
I talked to my boss about using this tool and he is worried about using it. I'm only an intern at my office and do not have the authority to use a program without their knowledge or consent. I will run the idea by them again and see if it's okay I use this.
I'll maybe make some presentation about how it can help us with our problem and how much time and money it will save. Because I really want to get down to the bottom of this.
Probably the most significant thing is going to be the Content-type that the files are being served by.
You could use the Developer Tools, Network Capture to check on that and ProcMon could help explain what happens after that. A related workaround to change the symptom when the Content-type is not what is expected is to disable MIME Sniffing (e.g. in
Security options, Miscellaneous section). In fact, perhaps that could explain your machine's difference with anyone else? MIME Sniffing is a default, previously known as "save according to type not extension" (or some such wording).
Okay I will be completely honest I have no idea how to use Developer Tools (F12), yes I could google it, when I tried using it on the blank pages it would never work, I also have no idea what I'm looking at. I should mention that I do not have access to
the web server. Our programming and development side only has access to our AS400, which is where the web server is located. I do have MIME Sniffing enabled and so does everyone else. I may be wrong but, I believe it is needed in order to open the file extension
in the correct default program, yes? I thought MIME Sniffing would see a .docx file and then find the appropriate program to open that .docx file in. I may be wrong but I know it's used somehow along these lines.

Report Viewer goes to a Blank Screen

I'm attempting to implement the Crystal Reports XI JRC and can get it to succesfully render the report and all the associated tool bars, as well as preform the functions that the tools do. The Issue I'm having is that when ever I click the export button, or the print button and do the associated steps to do those things and I go back to do something else with the generated report, the report will always go to a blank screen instead of doing the selected action. I create the CrystalReportViewer object inside a servlet and when I do the above it dose go back to the servlet. My qustion is dose any one know why the viewer will only let you do one tool action (Print or Export) and not do the other after? I've also run into this issue. I got my phone in Feb 2015. Also iphone 6 (64GB). It's happened during calls and when I tried taking a photo. The screen basically goes black but the phone is still on and responds to buttons. It's happened to me twice in the past month or so. Each time, I've just had to wait for a few mins and the screen becomes lit up again.

Not sure what would cause that. You could try a simple reset to see if that would help (hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release). If that doesn't work, you can always review and update your payment information from your other device. If your computer is signed into your account you can also do it from there (see iCloud: View or change your iCloud payment information).

Blank screen on edge inspect when viewing reflow project

I'm trying to view my reflow project on an iphone 5 through the Chrome plugin but every time I connect to the phone all I get is a blank screen. If I add a chrome tab and view another page like google.com for instance I see it fine on the phone. Any idea what the issue could be here?

Please provide more information to help us understand the issue:
1. Are you using TypeKit fonts in your project? If yes, then issue is when your device connects to to your computer as the websever, Typekit does't see you computer as an authored user of your fonts. The devices ins't connecting to "localhost" but using whatever the ip address of you computer is on the network. If you want to preview the fonts you either need to add your computers IP address to your kit settings or put the preview up on a server that your kit allows.
2. Are all the application components running on the same Subnet?

When on a Web site when I try to enlarge the view of an item or try to upload a picture on E-Bay I keep getting a blank screen.

While shopping on different sites when I try to view an item with enlarge or view here a screen appears as if to show the item, but the block is blank. Or when the site says click here to enlarge Tried to sell on E-bay and it did the same thing when I tried to upload the picture of the article I wanted to sell.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Mega View 588 problem! (blank screen)

Hi.
I just got a new Mega View 588, and I have already one big problem. When I was playing in settings I accidently pressed on "Software upgrade" or something like that. Something was displayed on the screen, but I forced it to power off.
Now, when I'm trying to start my Mega View 588, I can only see a blank screen - no sound, no picture. I've tried the System Recovery - didn't work. The battery is charged, the battery led is lit. I can connect it to my PC.
If anyone know how to fix it, please help me. Thank you in advance!

If the PC can detect for 5588, I have two solution for your reference, we can simulate your MS-5588 that have screen situation to update software or connect TV by AV terminal and press LCD/TV button on the remote control to complete the procedure to update the software.
Solution1:
You must follow below procedure to do: (no screen status)
1.Please download the latest firmware and unzip!!(http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/firmware/frm/spt_frm_ia_detail.php?UID=616)
2.Copy this unzipped .rar system folder's files, replace system folder's files to your MEGA VIEW 588
3. When you boot up, after wait for a moment, stir the above key one time and press “enter” button.
4. Stir the right key four times and stir the below key two times, then stir the right key one time, last stir the left key one time.
5. After stir the left time, please press “enter” button.
6. Please wait in a few minutes (about 3 minutes), and survey your MS-5566 whether have any action/motion.
Please try again!!

Blank screen in viewer

Second question of the morning!
I have been playing about it viewer this morning and everything was working fine. Now when I try to see a jpg or mov file in viewer I get a blank screen. I can play it fine in canvas. Any ideas?

You'll also find dang near any question you've had or will have has already been asked many times before, the forum Search function can be invaluable.
Crack the user guides, practice, come back here and help out other new learners.

When I click the View option to view a document on my insurance website, I only get a blank screen with words Mozilla Firefox, and below it, "Search Bookmarks and History" in the upper left corner of the screen.

This also happened at a bookseller's website, when I clicked on the photo of a book to enlarge it. Instead of showing me an enlargement, it took me to the same blank screen with the title bar, "Mozilla Firefox", and below it another bar with the words "Search Bookmarks and History," both at the top left of the screen. This has happened repeatedly at the two websites I have mentioned. When I went to the same sites using Internet Explorer, the error didn't occur. I did a Microsoft system restore for a previous restore point, but it still did not eliminate this glitch.

IPOD Help~(cannot view anything except a white blank screen)

Alright...I never expected to post up something in this discussion thread this soon...since I got my 30gig iPOD just three days ago...and curious as I am to things...I think I broke it, hah~
Anyways...I need some help.
Here's the story.
I was updating my iPOD to a newer version, I'm assuming...and during the updating process...I accidently 'x'ed out of the box...and now my iPOD screen does not show anything except for a white blank screen. If I hold down the menu and center button for six seconds...It shuts down...but when I release/let go of the buttons...it makes a ring sound and goes back to the white blank screen.
And also...when I go to the start menu and look under the iPOD folder...it has an update your ipod thing...I clicked it...and it pops up with a screen, saying stuff like it's 'initializing'...and tells me to plug in my iPOD with the usb chord...but I get a message saying 'can't mount iPOD' or 'internal error'
I think I've tried anything there is to solve this problem...like the five R's...etc.
I do not want to think that I broke my iPOD already. So if anyone knows, please reply back.

Hmm - I see the shapes, I'm not sure why they're disappearing when you draw them - too simple of a file to point at some other issue. It seems like something with the installation went wrong or is missing (the player that renders the Stage for AS3 documents). I think the first thing will be to get the update. Can you try downloading from this page instead of through the update manager? http://www.adobe.com/support/flash/downloads.html Then try running the executable that you download. If this doesn't fix it, Flash may need to be fully removed and reinstalled.

In View menu, clicked Full Screen, got full blank screen. How get out of Full Screen?

I experimented with clicking Full Screen, and got a full completely blank screen with no place to click any command to get back to normal. I feel lucky that clicking various keys at the top of the keyboard and closing the laptop restored normality, but there has to be a better way.

Do you get the Navigation toolbar if you hover the mouse to the top?
The Navigation toolbar should have an item in the right -click context menu to exit Full Screen Mode.

Following the recent software update I cannot now view photos on websites, eg when on estate agent sites, when I rap to enlarge the photos, a blank screen is shown.

Following the recent software update, I now can't open photos from websites such as photos on estate agent websites. When tapped to show enlarged, or switch between images a blank screen appears. Before update no problem. This is the same on my ipad and an ipad mini. Assume there is a setting, but can't find it!

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without be charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.
