View source etc. in any site

I  want to use Dreamweaver cs6 in web development as I can use Firefox web developer:I.e. loading a page from any Site - eg www.adobe.com - and then inspect the elements on that page, looking at the source,
pick out the css relevant to that element etc. Is that possible ?
Thanks.

Yes, Live view in Dreamweaver is actually a Webkit-based browser similar to Google Chrome and Safari. You can type any URL in the address bar, and inspect the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in Split view. However, external websites are read-only. You can't edit the code.

  • Suddenly I can't view imbedded video on any site!...just a white box!

Recently I lost all ability to view videos on the web through Firefox 13. Videos still work fine w' IE and Chrome and YouTube still works. But w' imbedded video on Yahoo, news sites etc. I just have a big white space. I've also noticed that some adds don't load (perhaps they're video clips as well) and are also a blank white space. Is there a plug-in or extension required for this? I tried downloading new versions of Adobe Flash but I'm not sure how, or if, it installs into Firefox. I'm not sure what changed. All used to work fine.....not sure what changed.

Do you have the newest Flash plugin, version 11.3, released last Friday? Check out this new support article: [[Flash 11.3 crashes or does not load in Firefox 13]]. Does anything there help?

    Hi all,
I've overriden VersionManagerService.versionedRepositories with empty value. Now I removed it. I'm able to see source repositories.
    Thanks,
    Kushal.

  • Cannot download files (photos, videos etc) from any site. Using v10.0.2 in vista (upto date)

Vista pc; downloads up to date. Any file i try to download fails. If it is a youtube video for example, after clicking the download button, the download window opens and I see the blue bar fill the aperture as the download progresses. Similarly, in the download folder, I can see the files eg .flv and .part files. The part file steadily increases whilst the eg .flv remains at zero. When the download completes, the .flv briefly displays the actual size of the download but then the files disappear! The mozilla download window then appears which lists the file but I cannot do anything with it. I can download ok using IE 9.08

You can retrieve the certificate and check who issued the certificate.
    * Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
    * Click the "View..." button to inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer.

I am receiving the error code (-50) when trying to access the itunes store. The original itune songs etc were installed on a win 7 32 bit system and I have now moved to a win 7 64 bit system (same PC) and have copied the folder across. Has the switch from 32 to 64 bit caused the problem? Is this why I get the error code? I can, however, access the itunes store to view my account. Any ideas please?

  • I'm having problems opening various windows in Firefox. Eg. Downloads, View Source, History etc.

For quite some time I have been having some issues with Firefox 5.0.1.
I have been through all of the troubleshooting I can find but cannot fix the problem.
Most of the features that require a window to be opened in Firefox do not work. Eg. Downloads, View Source, History. I cannot see the windows.

I tried the localstore.rdf replacement from another machine running the same version of Firefox. Still didn't fix the issue.
I noticed on the machine that I was having the issue with there was a file present called localstore-safe.rdf, this file was not present on the machine where Firefox was functioning normally. I removed localstore-safe.rdf (made a copy of the profiles folder first) and it works.

  • View source doesn't work / is broken / not working in 6.1.0.1

View source in IE6 works on the guest users mypage when they first land on the site and on the login page, but any other community page once you login - it breaks.
I'm having to use the 'view partial source' in my right click context menu as offered once you install 'webdevaccess.exe' (a developer plugin unsupported but offered by Microsoft - google it) to see any source. I must admit, I just ctrl-a then 'view partial source' and I get everything but the initial <html> and <head> tags pretty much - but it's a pain.
Has anyone else seen this behavior and is there a fix?

It appears that this is indeed a problem with certain versions of IE6 while using server-side compression for all portal pages (a new feature on ALI 6.1 that is enabled by default).
The Release Notes actually contain two known issues related to this:
    - Some versions of IE6 on Windows 2000 have a bug where they do not render compressed pages properly. End users should upgrade to the latest version of IE6 if compression is enabled. (Issue #54230)
    - You may experience issues downloading Excel spreadsheets from Analytics reports using the Microsoft IE6 browser. (Issue #54827)
This problem is directly related to one or more of the following bugs in IE6 SP1 resolved by the KB articles listed below. Please require users to either upgrade their browsers by installing IE6 SP2 or patching with the specific downloads listed in the KB articles.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/871205
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0c7055c3-0bec-4042-b6aa-3443739c66ab&DisplayLang=en
    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=823386
The other workaround is to specifically disable compression for Excel spreadsheets in the httpcompression.xml setting file, located in %PT_HOME%/settings/portal.
I upgraded to MSIE 7 and did not encounter the problem. I also confirmed that the problem does not occur with IE6 when HTTP compression is disabled. This is now controlled by a new httpcompression.xml file.

  • How can I view source on an app (preferably before installing)?

An app for Firefox OS is programmed in HTML and JavaScript. So, just like a webpage, I should be able to View Source, right? That's always been the empowering Mozilla approach, as far as I understand. View Source is great for learning by example (just like how I originally learnt HTML!), but also for open audit. Ideally I'd like the opportunity to look over the code before I agree to install.
If I go to https://marketplace.firefox.com/app/astroalpaca using my desktop browser, or if I find it in Marketplace using my ZTE Open, I can't see a View Source option anywhere. Where is it please?
I can understand not showing it on a small phone screen, but there's no reason why someone visiting Marketplace with a laptop/desktop web browser shouldn't download and inspect the app package.
If it doesn't exist (I'm starting to suspect this is the case), then where's my empowerment? What makes these fxos apps any less of an impenetrable consumer black box than android apps?

Wow OK. So for future reference, "View Source" (Ctrl+u) doesn't do it, since I guess the button comes from JS. So instead you need to:
    * Open the inspector (Ctrl+shift+c)
    * Click on the install button (to inspect it, not to install it).
    * In the panel you get to see the source code for the button which includes the URL to the .webapp file (it might be hosted separately as in the example, or on the marketplace)
    * You can copy and paste that URL and then open that file to see where the app content is delivered from, and then if you follow those paths you can view the HTML, JS etc.
So that's really quite buried, but I'm glad that at least it's technically possible! Not quite as easy as Ctrl-U ;)

  • How to edit the html source code for my site

I have just started a blog, and am VERY new to it. I am trying to edit the html source code on my site (ie, to insert google adsense search bars). I go to my blog site, get to page source and see the html but I am not able to edit it. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Thanks!

You can use any editor you want mine is set up for notepad.exe
    :see http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox.htm#notepad
:to invoke use "Ctrl+U" or View > Page Source
:this is for sites that you maintain on your local drives or servers, and copy over to a website.

  • View Source stops working when running multiple instances in FF4

I run two instances of FF each under its own profile. I have different add-on, etc, for each.
Since upgrading to FF4, View Source is not working in the second instance. After pressing Command-U or otherwise choosing View Source, nothing happens. If I go to the "Window" menu, I see a window listed "Source of ..." but this window is not visible in any way and I can't find it or switch to it.

Seems to work ok for me but I am using windows XP. I have firefox 3.6 & 4.0 both open, and both have now opened view source windows. Possibly some combination of extensions causes the problem.

  • Is there any site about Apple`s softwares and interface projects?

I `d like to know if anyone as links to any site about Apple projects, research etc. For the next development of applications, OSX, etc?
Something like Mozilla labs that shows projects and ideas..
    Many thanks.

Mozilla is open source and transparent. Apple is closed source and proprietary. However, you can gather a lot of information by joining Apple Developers Connection (http://developer.apple.com/). Some levels will provide access to pre-release software and hardware. Fees do apply.
There are some other options however. Safari is based on WebKit and you can follow that project here (http://webkit.org/). In addition, Apple has opened up a lot of projects that can be traced here (http://developer.apple.com/opensource/index.html), and finally there is also MAc OS Forge which contains some additional projects (http://www.macosforge.org/). Also, many of Apple's technologies are integrated from Open Source projects (LDAP, Kerberos, Bind, etc). Following development from the project providers also gives good insight into the direction that Apple is going
    Hope this helps.

  • View source broken

View source is broken. nothing happens when i try to view source on any website.
    plus
when i tried to make a new topic that didn't work either:
Please confirm your question ("view source" does nothing) at the link below:
    https://support.mozilla.com/questions/749801/confirm/dlFjeoOZFW
Sorry, we couldn't find the page you were looking for. Please, try searching our site using the form below.
Enter your terms in the form below and click Search

The [/questions/749801 other topic] does work (it's locked now).
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).<br />
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]<br />
    <br />
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.<br />
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.<br />
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • View source without checking out?

Is there any way to view the source of a page on my site,
    without
checking it out? Quite often I just want to check and/or copy
    a section
of code to another file, and I'd rather not have to check the
    file out
and then check it back in again each time.
    Thanks in advance

Browse to it, and use View | Source in the browser?
