View team effort in Resource Graph

Hi,
I created a project and assigned resources to the activities. I want to analyze the resources availability.
i split the window to show at the bottom the Resource Graph. the problem is that it shows me the resources one at the time.
I would like to have a view where I can select several resources to see together.

Views and their associated Resource Graphs

Hi Team
I have created a Gantt Chart in MS Project 2013. I have also created a resource graph to the see the over allocation of resources.
I have created 2 views from the original Gantt Chart.
But I am not able to see or know how to get different resource graph for those 2 different views. Is this possible at all?
The resource graph that I see apparently is the same as each view's resource grpah and does not change in any way. And I am sure this is not correct.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

No, not with a task view (e.g. Gantt Chart or Task Usage), at least with Project 2010 (I don't have Project 2013). Project 2013 does have some expanded report features so hopefully someone who has Project 2013 can jump in and give a more definitive answer.
However, if you use the Resource Usage view, you can filter on resources and see a combined resource graph.

How to export Resource Graphs/Profiles to Word or Excel

We are using Primavera Risk Analysis 8.x and we could not find an option on how to generate reports showing resource profiles or how to export them into another software. Has anybody came across such an issue?

As with other Primavera products you can export most data fields out to MS Excel or Word or Access in order to better customize your reports. Charting in Excel is far better for your graphical reports :) If not, you could always import that data back into P6 and run your resource profiles in that software.

Exporting using Export View Contents commandThis method of export is excellent for getting selected information out of Pertmaster for manipulation or viewing in other packages.
You can use the Export View Contents command from the Gantt Chart or the Resource Sheet.
Using Export View Contents from the Gantt Chart saves the information displayed in the current columns and the column headings.
Using Export View Contents from the Resource Sheet saves the information on the usage of the displayed resources between two user defined dates.
To Export View Contents from the Gantt Chart
Set up the Gantt Chart columns to display the information that you require. Apply a filter if you wish to export only the information of certain tasks.
View | Export View Contents.
Type in the filename. Click on OK.
To Export View Contents from the Resource Sheet
Add the required resources to the resource sheet.
View | Export View Contents.
Type in the filename. Click on OK.
Enter the export date range. Click on OK.
To Export View Contents from the Resource Graph
You cannot export directly from the resource graph. So add the required resource to the resource sheet and then use export as described above.

Looking for Ad Hoc Filter of Tasks in Resource Graphs

I have a project with several tasks that are "optional" I would like the ability to filter out some tasks from the resource graph to examine the impact on resourcing. After a couple of days of looking, I've come up dry. Is there
a way to filter the resource graph against a task column?

Hi,
You could inactivate the tasks. Just right click on the task and select "inactivate task". The task will remain in the project plan greyed out and will not be considered anymore. It also can be done with the "active" column set to yes
by default.

Limit User View To Not Include Resource Attributes

Although I've created custom workflow and forms I'm still unclear on what exactly initiates the loading of views when starting for example the Tabbed User Form. Can you control what gets loaded into the view, specifically not load resource attributes?
We currently have approximately 700 resources and growing. This significantly lengthens the load time of the Tabbed User Form because Identity Manager connects to several hundred resources. We normally do not edit resource attributes directly but instead set them using globals or role attributes. This latency also has an affect throughout the tool, for example end-users requesting roles requires the Tabbed User Form to load.
Ideally the view would only load the waveset and globals values and only connect to the necessary resources upon saving the view.
Any ideas or further explanation on what controls the view attributes would be greatly appreciated.

Dynamic Tabbed User Form will not help here as the resource attributes are loaded anyway, regardless whether the form displays it or not.
The problem is the user view itself that checks every linked resource. I don't think you can limit the view by providing some arguments. You would have to create your own view along with the necessary handlers for checkout and checkin.

Ad help: There was a recent thread on this forum where someone reported
that he managed to include the help stuff
Ad text-editors: No not really although the base framework
org.eclipse.text and org.eclipse.jface.text can be used
Ad preference: The core stuff is there but the preference dialog as you
know it from the IDE is not available
I think the biggest amount of work is to get a decent text-editor for
your application. It naturally depends on what text you need to edit if
it is pure ASCII it is trivial, syntax coloring is not a big deal either.

Resource permission to view himself only in resource center

I have a query regarding resource permission. My scenario is how a resource can view/edit only his attributes in the resource center.
I have given Team Member permission and what other permission i need to apply to execute this scenario.

Hello,
Depending on what category you have added to the Team Member group, lets assume "My Tasks". For the My Tasks category ensure that in the resources section you select "Only include the selected resources:" then "The User is the resource" on the
category. Make sure the category gives them access to at least one resource center view. Now on the Team Member group, select the My Task category (or the category you are using) in the categories section. In the permissions that become enabled ensure "Edit
Enterprise Resource Data" and "View Enterprise Resource Data" are enabled. That should be it.

Viewing calendar of a resource in iCal (connected to an iCal Server)

Let's say I've got a bunch of video cameras or rooms that I want to view the availability of in iCal. Is there any way to do this without making a new event, inviting the resources, and then checking the availability in the window?

Once you have delegated access to resource or location, a client can view it in iCal via iCal > Preferences > Accounts > Delegation and selecting "Show" beside each resource and location.

View Selector - Switch issue between Graph and Table Data

Hi:
We have created the report with both Table view and Chart View. Both of them has been added to the View Selector and added to the Dashboard. While performing the testing we found that sometimes the Switch between the views are not happening. Meaning when we try to switch from Chart View to Table View, the View changes in the drop down but the original Graph to table will not switch. In order to make that happen we need to try 3 or 4 times across the drop downs from Table to Chart and then chart to table.
Did any one face the similar issue. Any suggestions or insights on this.

1. what is the table field with the right value? and is this table field in the *itm extractor?
2. can you include this field into the extractor?
3. could it be a calculated value?

In Pivot view i need to arrange graphs horizontally but not vertically

I have a serious problem of placing graphs horizontal when i place 1 of the colums in section. graphs have been made vertically rahter than horizontally..

See the issue is very simple..
Solution is what I'm not able to get
when you put any column in section in pivot view its gives different views based on the column in pivot..
but unfortunately these views are placed vertically 1 below each other rather than placing them horizontally
If you can try by yourself in pivots the same thing you will get a better idea on what I'm talking about..
Drag a column into sections in pivot.. when i say sections it is something like row,measures,columns,sections,page in pivot tables..
Please check for solution and get back..

Team Template in Resource Management

Hi All,
I would like to know where can I define the Team Templates in Project Resource Management?
Path: Projects Web -> Search Project -> Resources Tab -> Actions -> Select Apply Team Templates -> Go (the result is no results found).
The release of the EBS is 12.

Level of Effort and resource assignment

In P6 I'm trying to generate some resource usage spreadsheets with Early and Late Remaining Units, Early Remaining units are good. But with Late Remaining Units: P6 expands them from Actual Start date to Late Finish date which is not correct.
Any suggestions to resolve this issue would be appreciated.

How old historical data can be available for SCOM performance views to show up in graphs?

I have created performance rule based on performance counter and created a performance view on the target of the rule. It shows me the graph of how performance counter value changed over the period of time.
In SCOM console there is an option in performance views, to choose start date-time and end date-time for the performance graph. It allows me to select a range of say few years.
However going by the Microsoft documentation, it appears that performance data is stored in OperationsManagerDW database only for limited period.
I have a feature requirement where we need to have performance views or reports or some means where for compliance purpose we should be able to show older data as well.
So my query is exactly how much historical data(up to how old) is actually available for performance views? Is there any specific information or MS documentation available where I can get this information (duration of historical data in specific number of days
or years or so.) I need to decide based on this if I can use performance views or I need to go for some kind of reports like SSRS reports instead.

Project Server 2013: Timesheet Managers are able to view and edit all resources' timesheets

Regarding the Timesheet Managers list, per this

As far as I know, the users that are in the timesheet manager list will not see all the timesheets but only the ones they have been designated as approvers. Did you experienced a different behavior? Can you detail it?

Using Property Nodes to view a subVI's xy-graphs in the mainVI

Hey all.
Yet again I sit here facing a problem. I currently working on subtracting a background spectra from another measured spectra. This part work good enough, and is what you can see in the RemoveBackground.vi.
My problem is that I want to display the xy-graphs from the subVI in my mainVI named Sample.VI. For some reason it worked for the one called Derevative, but though I am doing the very same thing to get the reference control (right-click the xy-graph in the mainVI and created a reference -> right click to create a control to the reference -> copy-paste the control into the subVI -> make a property node and connected the control and the property node -> selected the property value -> changed the property of the node to write -> linked the cluster going to the subVI's xy-graph to the property node as well).
Why won't it work for my signal as well?

The problem is that your Delta Signal XY Graph is expecting an array of clusters and you're feeding in a cluster to the "Value" property. If you insert a Build Array function prior to writing to the "Value" property it will work. Did not intend to have an array of clusters for that graph?
You should not you have a nasty bug in your code. If you run the top level VI as is, you get into a continuous loop that displays a dialog message about not having any data, and the only way to get out is to force quit LabVIEW, unless you have a handy-dandy LabVIEW app that aborts all running VIs.
