View tracks instead of selecting albu
When I go to media library, artists, then to a selected artist is there some way i can just get the tracks to show up instead of having to pick an album?this by the way is for a microphoto 8gbMessage Edited by Karma8 on 03-29-20062:36 PM
it seems that the order of tracks for an album in the iPod app is determined by the playlist which causes the album to be sync'd to the iPad. if the playlist is sorted by album, which subsorts by disk and track #, the order on the iPad is as desired.
anyone know if this is also true for the iPhone/iPod Touch? it is pretty confusing behavior.

"Insert into Multitrack" keeps inserting on new track instead of one I've selected
Hello, Everyone!
I've just installed Audition 3.0 (upgraded from 1.5) on Windows Vista. Looks great, but when selecting a section of audio from the edit window for "Insert into Multitrack," it keeps putting the clip/selection on the next unused track instead of the track I've selected, despite what I do. Its all from one audio file and the clips are short, so it doesn't appear to be a time issue or difference in file type. I'm assuming its something simple relating to the mulittrack/edit window set-up I'm missing that I haven't seen yet.
Any Ideas?
Here are some pics below ...
Track is selected and marker line (or whatever its called) is at appropriate point, just like in Audition 1.5 (note highlighted track) ...
Then selection/clip is higlighted in Edit Window, then "Insert" is selected, ...
But puts clip here anyway (note highlighted clip) ...
So that's what's going on ... any suggestions?
Thanx!
---RonNot that I'm aware of, but I'll check it out. The problem is, it shouldn't be doing that at all, even if it is overlapping ... every single solitary audio editing software I've ever used (Saw, CakeWalk, ProTools, Audition 1.5, etc.,) puts the clip where ever the cursor is, so I have to believe its something I'm missing ... some box I need to uncheck somewhere or something.

"Refresh after" insert fails for DB-View with INSTEAD OF Triggers
Hi,
I have a database view with INSTEAD OF triggers defined for INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE.
For some EO attributes the refresh after insert and update is defined.
Posting to database fails.
According to Database 9.2 Manual and a previous thread (BC4J and Updatable Views the RETURNING clause is not allowed for database views with INSTEAD OF triggers.
Is there a workaround so the refresh after is done, but without the RETURNING feature?
I only need to refresh some values. The PK i can set in the create method of the EO so refresh via a additional SELECT would be possible.
If not Feature Request:
Add the possibility to do the "refresh after ..." with a 2nd SELECT using the PK instead of using the RETURNING clause.
Of course then it is not possible to set the PK in the database trigger. PK has to be set in the create method of the EO.
Thanks,
Markus
GEMS ITHi Markus,
Turning on the stack trace (-Djbo.debugout put=Console - in the Project/runner) did help and I should have done it sooner. Turns out that when I constructed my EO based upon a database view - I should have left out the PKs of the base tables.
In my case, I am using an "Instead Of Trigger" to populate a multi-table arrangement (parent - child - grandChild - greatGrandChild relationship) where all base tables are using dbSequence/dbTriggers.
Final analysis - I would like to see BC4J handle this situation. I do not want to use View-Links and I should * not * have to resort to stored procedures and BC4J/doDML. If I construct a DB View this is participating in an parent - child - grandChild - greatGrandChild relationship that are using dbSequence/dbTriggers, then BC4J should be smart enough to construct VO knowing that I want to do insert, update, delete, selects - based upon this structure.
Thanks Markus,

How can I change the gain on one audio track in the selection?
How can I change the gain on one audio track in the selection? Is there a way to adjust the gain as it is implemented for example in cubase - pull waveform up and gain varies?
I'm not sure what you mean by "in the selection", or, more honest: I don't understand that at all.
So, instead I'm going to tell you that you can indeed adjust the Gain of one or more selected region(s) in the Region inspector on the left hand side. -

Also it would be great if you can share Sample codes for Invoking an updatable view with instead of trigger on Save/commit.
Regards,
JeevanAs a trigger is executed in the db and not in your app it's really hard to help as you did not give any useful information.

When I rip a CD to iTunes all goes well until I click on All Albums. If there are other artists named as well as the Title Artist, I end up with what appears as 16
Albums with 1 track instead of 1 Album with 16 tracks. Can I fix this ?Had a similar problem with two tracks from a cd being segregated in a separate list, but with the same album title and artwork as the other 19 tracks. I found that by double clicking the artist field next to the album icon you can then edit that info. In your case it sounds as if you might want to erase the artist info altogether. Once you have done that, all the tracks magically group together, as they should have done in the first place. Oh there might be a dialog box first, asking if you really want to do this.
Hope this helps. -
I can't seem to open (view) my photos. I get an error message that says "the file couldn't be opened because you don't have permission to view it. To view or change permission, select the item in the finder and choose File. Get info." I have never had this happen before? Thanks!
Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Run Option #1, Repair Permissions.

Firing a view based on a selection from a popup window
Hi,
I have a main window in which there is "Display Details" button and a view container to hold a view. On clicking this display button I'm showing a pop-up window which will show the user the options to select a particular view. After the selection and clicking on OK in the pop up window the corresponding view should be shown the view container.
I tried this by firing an outboung plug to the corresponding view based on the selection in the popup window. The problem is I cannot create a navigation link in the window as the popup view is not part of the main window.
Could you please provide me your insights on how to handle this scenario?

Form with view having instead-of-trigger gives FRM-40501 and ORA-02014
I created a data-entry from with a 'view' as datas-source block. This view gives crosstab query results with a data from a single base-table but it is complex and uses decode and aggregate funciton 'max' just to create group by in a crosstab query. I have created a instead of trigger on this view to update or insert a record in base table. A test to update base table works fine at SQl prompt. A test to insert at SQL shows '1 row created' but in fact when I query the database, it does not show newly inserted row. Also, when I compile and run this form, I get FRM-40501 and ORA-02014. Help!!!
I know that DML operations on a view with DECODE, aggregate functions or group by can not be performed but I thought the "instead of" trigger on the view to update the base table should eleminate this restriction and hence pusued further but now stuck!
BTW: I can post details of base table, view, and instead of trigger, if you want to see them to further decipher the problem. Just let me know. Thanks!
VERSIONS: Forms in developer suite v10.1.2.0.2 on Windows XP 64 bit desktop - ; Backend database: 9.2.0.8 on Windows 2003 EE server
Edited by: user8647268 on Aug 19, 2009 1:19 PM
Edited by: user8647268 on Aug 19, 2009 1:25 PMI just forgot to ask you one question: In my experience with forms, I have captured before_value and after_value and implemented logic based on results many times. This form I am working on is kinda first multi-record form where I have a tabular page with date and about 7 other columns forming a grid of cells, which users wanted. Each line is a record from a view. I tried relying on forms to do DML on underlying table and since the underlying table is a paritioned table, I ran into FRM-40509 and ORA-00936, where returning ROWID becomes problematic. I found a note 167550.1 which says to set Key mode to 'Updateable' or 'Non-Updateable' but not 'Unique' or 'Automatic' as a solution #1. Solution#1 failed i.e. the errors persisted. The note also says in that case, implement Solution #2, which is to write explicit trigger to do each of the DML on view. Here I run into kinda problem: In a tabular form with say 31 records each row having 7 cells which is like capturing 217 before values..that is too many. Addressing them with ':old.xxx' or ':new.xxx' which works in instead of trigger, does not work in trigger inside forms. Without checking these before and after values, it inserts rows with nulls for empty cells where we wnated it to skip and do nothing. So iam looking for a way to capture before value using some kinda standard form mechanism..Do you have any suggestions! (Sorry for long explanation but that is the only way to do it..)

How to create ADF BC components like EO from "View with INSTEAD OF trigger
I have a "View with INSTEAD OF trigger" on a external schema. is it possible to create ADF EO on top of this view in my local schema?. If possible, then is it possible to insert/update that external table using ADF standard data controls and Application module?. I'm trying to see if it's possible with standard ADF controls without calling pl/sql API to insert/update that external table. any ideas are appreciated.

With iOS 6, how do I skip tracks instead of fast forward?
I run with my iPhone 4. I keep it in the "off" mode to save the battery while listening to music. I routinely double tap the home button to get the quick controls up so I can quickly skip tracks instead of typing in the acess code (hard to do when you are runnning). My issue is that with iOS 6, the skip track buttons have become jump forward 15 seconds buttons. ***?? How do I change this back to skip the entire track?
Sorry, Apple has no approved method to downgrade the version of iOS on your iDevice. You can voice your displeasure with the iOS by leaving feedback at the appropriate subsection from the link below.

I cannot make a simple purchase of a $.99 of Beethoven's 9 symphony 4th Movement. When I click on the orchestra, a pop-up states "connecting - loading" and nothing happens. When I click on "View iTunes" for this selection, nothing happens.
AlexCarey, I've been having issues purchasing recently and place a number of calls to the support team. On Oct. 5th, and on my own decision, I went into my itunes profile and re-entered my credit card expiration date and security code. (Notice, it is not displayed for safety measures.) Today, I received an email from Apple support verifying if I made changes made to my account. For the heck of it, I logged back into itunes; click "Buy". It's working again after three days of failure. However, diagnosis still displays "Secure link to itunes store failed". Very confusing state of affairs, lately. See my post on "Itunes dilemma"

Why has CAST(FieldName to float) failed in view but not in SELECT?
I've just solved a problem but I'm still not sure what the problem is!
I have a data (staging) table with all values stored as text. The data is converted to the correct data-type and also aggregated somewhat in a view. A select statement with the conversion works. A select statement with the conversion and aggregation (GROUP
BY) works. Creating a view of the conversion and aggregation works. However, on selecting from the view (e.g. SELECT TOP 1000 * FROM ViewName) it fails saying it cannot convert from varchar to float. There are no visible characters in the field apart from
numbers between 0 and 9, a decimal point and sometimes a leading minus sign (-).
The fix? Cast to money and then cast to float.
The problem? I don't know! What was the problem? Some of the values had up to 10 decimal places. Was that a problem? Was it really an overflow error masquerading as conversion error? The longest strings present were:
-2.609763091
-0.082456066
-0.674010546

-0.000362354
-0.002961949

Would really like to know what caused this so I can spot it in future before it happens.
Cheers.
JCEHOne possibility is that the two execution plans are different. The logical order of the way SQL processes the clauses a SELECT query is FROM, ON, OUTER, WHERE, GROUP BY, CUBE | ROLLUP, HAVING, SELECT, DISTINCT, ORDER BY, TOP. (Actually that's
what I learned, now there are some additional things like APPLY, but for our purposes we can ignore them). The important thing to know is that that is the LOGICAL order, but SQL is allowed (and often does) go change that order to anything it wants as
long as it returns the correct result.
So, for example, if your FROM clause a number of rows and some of those rows contain data which would cause a CAST (or anything else) in the SELECT clause to fail, but those rows are eliminated by your WHERE clause. Then SQL could do
FROM, WHERE, SELECT and the query works, or
FROM, SELECT, WHERE and the query fails. And, in general, you cannot control which plan SQL will use.
So, for example, if you have a table named T with two integer columns I and J and some rows in the table have a value of 0 in the column J and you run
SELECT I/J FROM T WHERE J<>0
it might work and you might get a divide by zero error. So one safe way to handle this is to write your query as
SELECT I/(CASE WHEN J <> 0 THEN J ELSE NULL END) WHERE J<>0
Another way would be to create a temp table and write an insert statement that inserted into that temp table only the rows where J<>0 and then do the query from the temp table. Since that is two SQL commands, SQL is forced to do them in order,
it cannot combine them and reorder the processing, that would look like
Create Table #T(I int, J int);
Insert Table #T(I, J)
Select I, J FROM T WHERE J<>0;
Select I/J From #T;
Drop Table #T;
You could try doing the equivalent of one of those to your query and see if that makes the problem go away.
Now I know you are going to ask "Why did the view use to work and it doesn't anymore?" and "Why does using the view and the table return different results". My guess is that you are getting different plans for the view and the table,
why that is, I don't know, it is often difficult to answer that type of question. My best guess for why the view used to work, then you ALTERED it, and then changed it back to the original form and it fails even though it is exactly the same as the old
view that was working is, when you had the old view, then was a cached execution plan that was working. That execution plan might have been created a good while ago. When you ALTERED it, you, of course, got a new plan. Then when you ALTERED
it back to the original form, it no longer had the plan it had been using, so had to create a new one, and this new plan was different than the old one.
Finally, if this is the cause of your problem, then you are not guaranteed that the convert to money, then to float is a permanent fix. If you have column headers which cannot be converted to either money or float, then it could be the convert to money
then to float is enough to get SQL to do the WHERE first, then the SELECT. But there is no guarantee that will be true forever. Changes in your data distribution and release level of SQL might make that version do the select first and then the
where.
