View videos on monitor

How do I connect my iPhone 3GS to my laptop and then display on an external monitor?

Different devices you're using. The VGA is for the basic normal projector, while the HDMI is primarily on HD TV sets. I'm sure there are some HDMI projectors out there, but the vast majority are VGA. (One of the funnier moments of the iPad2 keynote was Jobs describing all the teachers mirroring on the flat screen TV's in their classrooms - since then I've gone to a number of educational technology conferences and meetings, and have yet to find a teacher with a flatscreen instead of a VGA projector ).
I believe the VGA can't output the full HD image, while of course the HDMI can.

  • Viewing video baby monitor on iphone

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on how i might be able to take a regular video baby monitor, and have it be viewed on my iphone?
I would like to purchase a baby monitor (that comes with a monitor), and be able to view that in my home, as well as view it when i'm away from home.
    any advice is appreciated

    You're most welcome.
i'm looking at this setup: http://www.securebaby.com/sb860qgp719.html
with the hand held and wireless monitor. There is at the bottom of that page a wireless router, would that help my situation? i do have a lynksys wireless gaming adaptor/router, would this work? then i'd download the software that was mentioned?
again, sorry for the questions that i'm sure are pretty elementary, but i do appreciate your help.
For those of us (me included,) who is not expert in wireless internet security monitoring, my strongest suggestion is that you discuss your needs with your Apple retailer. He will know which questions to ask about your system, what iPhone connectivity is possible, and exactly what you need to accomplish. Based on that discussion, your local retailer should be able to offer you the best and lowest cost solution that requires the fewest (sometimes costly) additions to your existing system. Moreover, he can offer local help with total system wireless network expansion and internet connections that may be more complex than you presently contemplate. In short, based on the questions in your latest post, I suggest you approach this problem with a local supplier. However, here follows my thoughts on your posted question.
While the device in the link you posted will likely provide useful monitoring while within range of its wireless transmitter, I doubt that it will be compatible with remote viewing via internet when you are away. Rather than guessing at its capability, if you want to pursue this particular approach further, I suggest that you contact the seller and ask him whether this product (or perhaps another that he sells) will do exactly what you want and whether he will guarantee that it will perform your intended purpose. The best information on these technology solutions should come from the people who sell and support it.
After you have checked out the monitor you are considering, you might also want to call the EvoCam people and talk with them to verify that their product can provide the functions you need, even if not in exactly the manner that you initially contemplated. Unless you are determined to use one particular brand, comparing the approaches offered by different vendors may give you additional and valuable options of which you are presently unaware.
If you need more info before discussing your needs with a potential supplier, we will try to offer detailed responses to your specific questions.

  • Cannot View Video In Monitors on MacBook Pro

After upgrading to this last 2014 release, I can no longer see any videos in the source monitors in my previous projects or new projects. When I close Premiere, it hangs and must be forced to quit, after which is displays a message stating that a serious error has occurred. No kidding. Is this a known issue with Macs & this new version?
    thx

    Hello,
This problems seems intermittent... I kept restarting PP yesterday and got it to work; pretty strange though as this has never happened before. That makes 2 occasions though after updating PP this has happenned. I'm running:
    PP 2014.2
Late 2011 17" MacBook Pro with Yosemite 10.10.1, 16GB ram, AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MB, Crucial M500 SSD
It seems to happen regardless of footage types in project. No third party codecs. Using Mercury Playback.
When this happens, PP shows the missing footage message in the production monitor, and just shows a black screen in the source monitor.

In case you did not find it, the following is a copy/paste of the Announcement on Premiere Elements 19/NVIDIA GeForce
that appears at the top of this forum.
Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are experiencing
Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling
back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow
glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies
to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of
the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere
Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.
Since October 2013, the following thread has tried to keep up with the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA reports

  • Viewing video on external monitor

Using an external monitor. I am able to view the desktop on this monitor. However, I am unable to view my video on this monitor. What "Preference" settings do I need to enable me to view my video. Using Final Cut Pro 4.5. External monitor is JVC TM1400SU.

I have the first selection as "None" followed by the others
4 -Digital Cinema Desktop Preview selections. None
is selected. (Is that the default setting?) I don't
see a selection for my external monitor.
    G4 1.25 FW800 Mac OS X (10.4.3)
Wow -- slow down and read the posts.
Hook up your external monitor BEFORE starting FCP.
    Start FCP
View - External Video -- ALL FRAMES
View - Video Playback -- Apple Firewire (etc.) Use one of these based on where you are from and the size of your video.
DO NOT use desktop preview!! You'll be messed up and have NO way of figuring out how to get out of it.
    then...
View - Audio Playback -- Take your pick from the three... but make sure you've got all the correct buttons on your external source configured correctly.
Take your time and read the posts. You'll get it figured out.

  • Can't View on NTSC Monitor

For some reason, I cannot view sequences on my NTSC monitor. When I go to log and capture, it does play back and I can see it on the computer, but whenever I go to "External Video," it is selected to off and even if I change it to "All Frames," it stays on off. Thank you!

Shane's Stock Answer #8: External Monitor Viewing
If you are working with DV, this is simple. First connect your computer to a camera or deck via firewire, Then connect the camera/deck to your TV/Monitor via RCA or S-Video.
Then start up your camera and tv, then open fcp.
Go to the View Menu, choose > External video > all frames
VIEW>Video playback should be Apple firewire NTSC (If you are using an NTSC set)
VIEW>Audio playback should be Audio follows Video
Techinially, this should send synched video to your TV
If for some reason you can't view your timeline on your external monitor, there are a few things to try:
    1) Make sure that the camera/deck is connected and powered on BEFORE you open FCP.
    2) In the Final Cut Pro menu select AUDIO/VIDEO Preferences and make sure your signal is being sent out thru Firewire DV.
    3) Go to the menu and select VIEW>EXTERNAL>ALL FRAMES.
    4) Click in the % box above the image and select FIT TO WINDOW.
    5) Go to VIEW->refresh A/V devices
    6) Make sure the Log & Capture window is closed
If you want it to play in both the canvas and the external monitor you need to go to the FINAL CUT PRO menu and select AUDIO/VIDIO settings and make sure MIRROR ON DESKTOP is selected under the PLAYBACK OUTPUT section.
If you are working with HDV footage, FCP 6 allows you to view this via firewire, but ONLY as downconverted DV. It won't look the best, but you can see it. To do this,
If you need to view any format other than DV at full resolution, then you need to look into capture cards. Several standard definition and high definition models are available from www.aja.com and www.decklink.com. With these options you'll need a proper monitor to view full broadcast colors, but all models allow for realtime standard definition downconvert, allowing you to view HD on an SD monitor.
The Matrox MXO is another option that is output only, but allows you to view your footage on an Apple Cinema Display at full broadcast qualit Shane

  • Cisco video camera monitoring software from remote location

    Hello
What is the best way to use the  Cisco video camera monitoring software from remote location.
I am talking about the AVMS / SWVMS software.
I am thinking of either a vpn tunnel or Remote Desktop (Terminal Services).
I would like to use the vpn tunnel, but am afraid that the encryption/decryption of all data will drastically slow down the data throughput.
    THanks,
    Cliff
    CCO: clifford.gormley

    Hi Clifford,
Thank you for posting. I use the AVMS software remotely and it works good. At first I changed the http ports of each camera and forwarded those ports in the router. I set up the cameras in the remote AVMS software with the WAN IP address and port number. That worked quite well. I then decided to try to reach the cameras through a VPN tunnel. I found that it worked perfectly and I was able to view up to 6 cameras. Your results will vary depending on how much bandwidth you have at each end. The important thing is the upload speed at the camera end of the tunnel. I have anywhere from 3-4 Mbps at any given time for the upload speed at the camera side and 30-40 Mbps download speed at the AVMS server side. I have also used UltraVNC to view the AVMS server through the tunnel and that worked well. Note that if you view the AVMS software using RDP you will see a black screen where the video should be. This is a limitation of RDP, not the software.
Please reply if you have any questions.

  • Switching ExternalMonitor View from "Source Monitor" to "Program Monitor"?

This worked fine in CS6, but I switched to Premiere CC and my external monitor is displaying the contents of Premiere's "Source Monitor" only, not the "Program Monitor". When the Timeline or Program monitor is selected, the extrenal monitor is black. But slecting Source Monitor plays fine on the extrenal moitor (through SDI connection)
How do I switch to the viewing the Program Monitor signal in my external monitor instead of the Source Monitor?
Tech Setup: using Blackmagic ultrastudio mini monitor to send SDI signal. Have installed the latest driver for the Blackmagic ultrastudio, which is approved for Adobe CC. Everything works perfectly in Premiere CS6, it's an issue inside Premiere CC.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for your help Peter!
    >>What Premiere and Blackmagic version are you on?
    Premiere Pro CC v7.2.0

    You might start with:
Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu.  Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order.  If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time, then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar.  Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.
If the above reveals nothing helpful, then create a new user account. Log out of your account and log into the new account. Do the problems cease?

  • View Video Playback DV50

I learned on here to use DV50 for photo only slideshows. I also learned on here that I cannot view the output with this codec via my Canopus converter like I do with DV sequences.
If I go to View>Video Playback>Apple Firewire NTSC, I can view my DV50 sequence on my monitor. I'm assuming that I'm viewing it as if it were a DV sequence? Seems like it would be OK to view it that way realizing that the DV50 codec will only make it better? Is that right?

Just wanted to confirm what I was doing. Appreciate it.

  • Internet access problems and viewing video on internet

I have very limited interet access most of the time.  I get a message: "You are not currently in an area that can handle data communication.  ..."  I have no problem with email and other features of the phone during this time.  The signal at the top of my phone says "GSM".  When I am able access the internet, it give me a different signal (can't remember what that is, however).  Even then, I cannot view most video clips, such as YouTube clips.  They will not load all the way.  It states, "Error has occurred in attempting to play media."  Help!

I have unlimited internet access, so that's not the problem.  Right when I got the phone, I replaced the original data card with a 4G card and enabled mass storage.  I have (since my first post) had more access capability by enabling the WiFi (da) which finds my wireless connection at home.  I've also been able to view a video clip, not successfully all the way through, however.  During viewing, the phone appears to crash, i.e. the screen goes white and then it takes 3-5 minutes for it to reboot.  This has also happened when the phone has not even been being used.   Also, as I was surfing the net, the phone asked if I wanted to enable Javascript which I did.  Is there anything else that I need to enable or do to the phone in order to have a more pleasant experience using the internet and viewing video clips?

  • Can't view video in iPhoto

Can't view video in iPhoto on my iMac but I can view it on my iPad! Source of video iPhone, sent to me via email. Appears in iPhoto on my iMac as a blank folder. Using OSX 10.9.5 Maverick. Any ideas? I have the same problem with a voice recording sent to me in the same way.

That's a whole new ball game.  Go the System/iCloud preference pane and uncheck the Photos check box.
In iPhoto go to its iCloud preference pane and uncheck all checkboxes.
Reboot, and go back to each preference pane and recheck those boxes.  That should jumpstart the Shared Photo Streams.
