View who else is in tagged photos in iphoto

Does anyone know if there is a ways to see a list of who else is in tagged photos in iphoto 09? For example, on Picasa, if you click on a person it gives you a list of who else is in pictures with this person. I am looking for the same feature on iphoto.
Thanks!

Well, If you double-click the photo to bring it forward, then click the "Name" icon in the lower left corner, it will display all the faces currently named in the photo.

  • Is there a keyboard stroke for tagging photos in iPhoto?

I would like to learn of a keyboard stroke for tagging photos in iPhoto.  I called apple a while back and was told there is no such shortcut.  You have to manually click on "add a face."  Then, if you want to tag multiple people in one photo, you have to manually click in each tag box to name them.  When iPhoto doesn't automatically detect faces, and the tag boxes are added manually, it is not possible to tab from on tag box to another.  It's infuriating!

I'd suggest posting your question in the iPhoto forum here, as that's where the true experts hang out.  Here's a link for you:

  • IPhoto doesn't show all tagged photos

I Apply tags to my photos in iPhoto on ios to keep them organized and easily searchable. But when I select a tag to filter all the photos it has been applied to it doesnt show all. The tag reads 30 photos but only nine of them are displayed in the grid after selecting the tag. Is this a known bug?

    Hello foo-on-air,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of what you are seeing. If you are having issues viewing all of your tagged photos in iPhoto for iOS, you may find the following article helpful, in particular this portion:
View flagged, tagged, hidden, or edited photos
Tap the label above the thumbnail grid.
If the thumbnail grid doesn’t appear, tap . (The orientation of this button changes depending on the orientation of your device.)
Tap an option to select the photos you want to see. To see only hidden photos, tap Hidden. To see all your photos (including the hidden ones), tap All & Hidden.
To view photos that meet several criteria (for example, photos with multiple tags), tap Advanced. Tap Any to display photos that meet any of the included criteria; tap All to display photos that meet all of the criteria.
To sort the photos by the date they were taken, tap either Oldest First or Newest First.
You can also display photos based on more complex criteria that includes or excludes certain types of photos from being displayed. After you tap the label above the thumbnail grid to open display options, tap Advanced. You can then select which type of items should be included or excluded from display. Tap Any to display items that meet any of the Included criteria. Tap All to display only items that meet all of the Included criteria.

  • Question about Tagging Photos

I know that you can Tag photos INSIDE iphoto, but is there a way (program or method or function) that allows you to tag photos OUTSIDE of iphoto (for example, if the photo is on my computer in some random folder) and then later on import into iPhoto and have the tags be recognized by iphoto?
I would appreciate any advice or help.
    Thanks.

What kind of Tag are you speaking of?
Any tag that is in the correct EXIF or IPTC field will import to iPhoto - not all fields can be accessed in iPhoto

What do I need to do to list photos in the iPhoto library — especially when I want to upload them somewhere without exporting first.

You don't. There is no list view.

  • Unable to open and view photos in iphoto

I am unable to view my photos in iphoto, or from anywhere else on my computer.  iphoto looks normal but is running very slow.  My thumbnails are all there.  I will click on a thumbnail, but the border turns from yellow to light blue, but the photo does not open for viewing, editing, or slideshow.  I have a MacBookPro, MAC OS X 10.6.8. iphoto version 8.1.2
I have tried to open photos from my external hard drive without success.  Also, I can't attach a photo to an email.  When I attempt any of these things, this type of error message pops up:

  • IPhoto 11 is moving my geo tagged photos

iPhoto has been moving my geo tagged photos to the wrong place, sometimes it is just moving a few of them to a different town a few miles away but after opening it today it moved about 60 pictures taken in Maui to somewhere in Idaho. Is anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?  I'm getting tired of having to move my photos back to where they were taken as it is not very easy anymore with the newest version of iPhoto.

Sorry but I do not understand your question
As to importing iPhoto simply copies the photos to the iPhoto llibrary - no changes of any sort are made

  • How to display all tagged photos from the whole catalogue?

    Hi,
I have been googleling around, but have not found the right information. I am trying to find all my tagged photos of all imported photos, but it would only show the tagged photos from a specific folder when I select that specific folder or from the timeline, in which I already knew that some tagged photos belong in those folders.
My question is...how can I search tagged photos from the whole catalogue without going through the timeline or clicking each folder and subfolder to view them. I would like that the organizer display all tagged items from all my folders and subfolders at once.
Sorry if this has been answered and I was not able to find the right forum or information.
    Many thanks in advance!

    Thanks a lot!

  • IPhoto 09 not recognising locations for geo-tagged photos

I've been geotagging my photos in iPhoto for over a year now, using HoudahGeo. This works really well and integrates great with sites such as Flickr that support geo-tagged photos.
When I installed iPhoto 09, it only recognises about 30 photos out of several thousand as geo-tagged. These are mainly photos taken with my iPhone, but also some taken with my Sony camera and geotagged with HoudahGeo.
I've checked a sample of the ones it does not put in a location (all taken with the same Sony camera) and the Exif data is there with the correct latitude and longitude but iPhoto 09 sees these fields as blank when I do a Photos > Shows Extended Photo Info, the latitude and longitude fields are blank.
Anyone any ideas what I am doing wrong / how I get the photos to show on the map in iPhoto 09?

I usually import the photos direct to iPhoto from my camera and then use HoudahGeo to geo-tag the original copies of iPhoto in my library. Prior to iPhoto 9 this is not a big issue as it did not use the geo-tag information directly but with iPhoto 9 it's a big issue for users like me as I'd rather not have to export from the camera to a folder, geo-tag and then import to iPhoto 9 as it's messy to say the least.
As I noted - this will not work - iPhoto is a database and it keeps data about the photo in its database - as all database programs do - and changing the data elsewhere will not update the database
Anytime you apply modifications directly to the data in the iPhoto database you are risking corruption and it is recommended that you not ever modify the contents of the iPhoto library
I use an ATP Photo Finder - http://www.atpinc.com/p2-4a.php?sn=00000414 - which applies the Geocodeing data directly to my photos so when I import them they are complete - it simplifies my work flow a lot
Surely Apple will have thought of users like me who geo-tag using a GPS external to the camera and provided some easy method of re-reading the Exif data in the photos in real time?

  • How best to tag photos

I am looking for software that I can use to quickly tag photos.
I take hundreds of photos of soccer teams, I would like to view photos and tag them with the players 'number' that is in each photo. Example, "4,12,5" continuing this for hundreds of photos and then be able to sort all the photos that player number "12" is in OR all the photos that players "4" and "5" are in.
Does Photoshop have this capability, is this the best way / program to do that.
    Thanks,
    JWB

I do have Bridge and just opened it for the first time and played a bit. I see how the tagging works however it is a bit 'clumsy' to tag each photo the way I was doing it.
Are there keyboard short cuts or a way to keep the template open as you select photos so I can just fill in the 'keyword' or some other field to be used in the sort.
I will be doing 300-400 pictures at a sitting.
I'm trying to find the best way to do this before I roll my sleeves up to do the labor.
    Thanks,
    -JWB

  • How to view pictures as "fit-in" in Photos

Is there a way to view pictures in landscape mode in Photos as "fit-in" rather than "fill-in" mode by default? I just bought an iPhone 5 today and am disappointed to see that my photography work, which is taken in a 3:2 aspect ratio, is strechted out into 16:9 when viewed in landscape mode in Photos. I can manually "unzoom" and view the entire picture, but when trying to show someone an album, this can be quite frustrating. Alternatively, is there another gallery app that can allow me to set a "fill-in" view mode by default?
    Thank you in advance,
    Francis

    Hi Vikas
Thanks for the tip. It was interesting insight into HTMLDB internals....
I'we found the way how to do the same job with a standard report template by building the SELECT in the following way:
    select col1,col2,col3,col4,col5
    from(
    select
    opportunity_name col1,
    lead(opportunity_name,1,'') OVER (ORDER BY opportunity_name) col2,
    lead(opportunity_name,2,'') OVER (ORDER BY opportunity_name) col3,
    lead(opportunity_name,3,'') OVER (ORDER BY opportunity_name) col4,
    lead(opportunity_name,4,'') OVER (ORDER BY opportunity_name) col5,
case when mod(rank () OVER (ORDER BY opportunity_id) -1,5)=0 then 1 else 0 end endofline
    from opportunities
    order by opportunity_name)
    where endofline=1
BTW: It's a tip for HTMLDB developers

What about to add the classical Windows File Explorer Viewer with "Small Icons/Large Icons/List Detail" display options as one of standard report templated???

  • Show tagged photos

PSE 11 under Win 7.  Clicking on a tag does not display the corresponding tagged photos.  Should it?

    Hi,
Make sure you are viewing all the thumbnails first.
Then hover over the tag keyword and a > will appear to the right, click on that and it should show the images with that tag.

  • Shuffle Tagged Photos?

Hello.  Brand new user here.  Sorry if this is a stupid question.
I have lots of pictures that I maintain within a single catalog ("My Catalog").  I have spent a good deal of time over the past several weeks meticulously tagging those pictures (i.e., tags for each child's name, tags for locations or events, etc,. etc. etc.).  What I would like to do now is to use those tags as a means to "play" my photos (i.e., view them) in random order according to any given keyword tag.  So for example, if I want to see all of the pictures tagged with my daughter's name, I can call up that keyword and tell the program to show me those photos in random order.
CAVEAT - I do know how to create a random slideshow (by running a search on the keyword tag and then choosing to Create --> Slideshow --> etc.)  I understand that, when creating the slideshow, I can shuffle the photos into random order before saving the slideshow to my chosen output option.  But that does not really accomplish what I want because once I create, and save, that slideshow, the photos will forever thereafter play in that same order (I think of this as like a mix tape on the old casette tapes - the songs are admittedly in random order, but once that tape is created, it will forever play those random songs in the same order).   Converseley, in iTunes, when I create a playlist, it knows all of the songs that are eligible for that Playlist, but as long as I have "Shuffle" selected, iTunes will never play those songs back to me in the same order.
I want that functionality, but with photographs.
Can it be done?  Is the answer that I would have to manually create and save a new randomized slideshow each time I want to view pictures from a given tag collection in a new random order?

Yep. The slideshow will always play the photos in the same order as you save them.

  • Sorting red tagged photos?

I tagged lots of photo inside a folder with red. I now would like to quickly pull up just the red tagged photos.
    1. Is there a way to just sort the files in a folder based on the tag color?
    2. How else can the red tag be used to find these files?
    Thanks!

1.) Clicking on the Red tag on the sidebar seems to bring up all the files on my Mac that are tagged red, is that correct?
2.) I currently have my arrangment set to Name.By changing it to Tag, does this simply move anything with a tag to the top of the folder?
3.) Is there any other way to filter tags on the Mac besides having it display all tagged files when clicking on a tag in the sidebar?
    Thanks!
