Viewer highlights Dark and light spots...

I probably hit a combination of keys that activates my viewer to highlight the dark and light spots with a bright blue, magenta, green... and other colors. I remember FCP 7 to do this if zebra stripes were activated. I have look everywere to turn this off but I can't find it. Please help.

I did change the calibration in syspref/display/calibration and yes, this was causing the effect in Final Cut Pro X althouhg did not affect any other appp sucha s photoshop, quicktime, preview, etc. Is this a bug in FCPX?
Thanks for your response.

  • Iphone 6 screen flickering dark and light

my iPhone 6 screen keeps flickering dark and light, whats happening and how can i fix it?

The symptoms you describe could be those of a battery being completely drained. When this happens the device will shut down and not respond even after attempting to charge. The usual cure is to plug the device into the wall charger and let it charge for at least 30 minutes. Then reset the device. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot. If the device restarts let it continue to charge until the battery is 100%. If the device does not restart make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • Re-coloring dark and light areas to match

Hi, I'm getting hit with Photoshop stuff this week!  Not my strong point.  :-(  I am trying to recolor this ribbon.  I know how to change the blue to red (using a brush in Color mode), but the problem is I want to make the whole ribbon solid red (the same look as the right-most stripe).  How can I go about this?  Cloning the red part over the rest?  Anything any easier?  I tried painting with Multiply in the middle stripe and Color in the lefthand stripe, but that still gives me obvious distinctions where the stripes were.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Phyllis

    (I meant Luminosity, not Multiply.)

Ok, look at your files in Photoshop. What is the profile assigned to them? You can find this out by going to the Status bar at the bottom, clicking on the right-pointing triangle and choosing document Profile from the list.
Then in Windows, go to your Control Panel > Color Management and add sRGB (if it isn't there) and select it as your default profile.
    I hope that will work.

  • Exporting file to pdf and screen view file dark, print file ok

I am using Mac Pages as a document editor and basic design tool. Exported pdf files look great on screen on first view, and when opened in Mac preview or even when viewed on the PC as a preview of the file. As soon as the file is opened with Adobe Reader on both pc and mac, I have an issue with the text blocks being changed to dark and unreadable. The file prints fine, but screen view is not readable. I am using the files as a linked file to be viewed on screen and need the .pdf file to be readable on screen with Adobe Reader as designed, without color and text changes.

I am looking at the original file and I see that one of the blocks is a white background text block with black text and the other is a dark background with white text. There is a 3rd text block that is a purple color with white text and the 3rd is fine, the other white and dark background and text turn dark and unreadable. Preview still shows the file OK, but not with Reader.

  • Ipad 2 screen randomly gone blank shows dark blue light up but no apple logo upon restart and remains the same.

    Hey
So I left my Ipad 2 on charge and it was working absolutely fine. Later on when I came in the room to check up on it, it had a blank screen and the Ipad was lit in the background as it was giving off the dark blue light but nothing on the screen would come up. I tried shutting it down using the power button and the home button yet nothing. Even the Apple logo would not appear. I just recently upgraded to IOS 6. I'm not sure what exactly caused this as it was working fine just a few hours ago. I've tried connecting to itunes held down the power and home button nothing seems to be working. Also I no longer have the warrenty.
Not sure what to do now

  • Please help.  I have an image that appears darker on one page and lighter on the other

The transparency blend space is cmyk on all and the image has no effects on it.  But when I move it from the one page to the other it goes from darker and more contrasted to lighter and less contrasted.  Copying and pasting as well as taking the original and replacing does the same thing.

Is the image cmyk? It sounds like the image is RGB and that one page has transparency and the other doesn't, so it's only being affected by the flattener on one page.

Why Can't I view purchased movies on my Tv using iPad mini and lighting to VGA adoptor

There's an issue currently that a lot of us are experiencing in that we all get the error message "iTunes is currently unavailable; please try later"
It's an issue with Apple and we're awaiting an update re this
I've posted a topic in regards to this after having a long conversation with Apple support this morning and will be receiving a call from their tech team tomorrow to run through it further
As it stands iTunes cannot be accessed via ATV's and nor can it be streamed via AirPlay from iTunes to the ATV
However I can access all films/iCloud content via my Mac Mini with no issues!

  • Random light spot on screen

I bought my Macbook Pro in August and have found that especially when viewing a black background, etc. there appears to be a random light spot around the middle of the screen. The light spot on a black background appears to be grey.

I had the same problem with my 10 month old MBP. There was a spot that looked light on a white background, and appeared darker on a dark background. I took it to an apple store genius bar about two weeks ago only to be told by the "genius" that it was caused by a smudge of oil from my fingers on the keyboard contacting the screen while it was closed. I told him that I have a microfiber cloth I purchased in that very store on the suggestion of one of their salespersons to avoid that problem. Here is the kicker, he then told me that using the microfiber cloth to cover my keyboard while the MBP was closed would cause MORE finger oils to be deposited on the screen. This is interesting considering that the surface of the microfiber that touches the display while the machine is closed never comes into contact with my fingers. Even though I was pretty angry, I didn't fight it and just left the store amazed that this kid qualified as a "genius."
New years eve I was driving home past another apple store and had some extra time so I decided to take it in and see if this apple store had idiots at their genius bar too. I was pleasantly surprised when the genius changed the desktop to white and said "yeah I see what you are talking about, you need an new display" and subsequently started writing the work order for it. So they are presently putting a new display on my machine. Thank goodness that the idiot at the genius bar was an isolated occurrence, and thank goodness I decided to try once more before my warranty dies.

  • Help!  Images in Aperture are dark and oversaturated...

I just got a new MacBook Pro, so I decided to download the Aperture demo to give it a try. I have been working with Lightroom and wanted to compare the two.
So I imported my first folder of images from some conference events I shot. My first impression was that images appeared a bit dark, contrasty and oversaturated, but I figured that was probably a result of underexposure, since I didn't have a lot of light to work with, or possibly from working with flash in dark rooms.
I went through and opened up all the photos and pulled-down highlights and did color-correction (flesh tones were a bit red). Then I uploaded photos to SmugMug... imagine my surprise to see everything appear flat and light and undersaturated. I couldn't figure it out... I looked through Aperture for possible explanations... proofing wasn't on so that wasn't it. Exported images were given sRGB profile (as opposed to Adobe RGB). I checked them in both Safari and Firefox... same results. Then I went back to the originals and opened them in Preview... they were lighter and less-contrasty than Aperture showed them to be. They looked like they should have looked. (By the way, I am working with JPEGs taken in the sRGB color space.)
So what happened in Aperture? Did something happen on import? I have searched all over the internet and can't seem to find anyone else having this same problem.
    Help!
    -Erin

Okay, may have posted prematurely... images look the same in Aperture as they do in Photoshop and Lightroom. So it is something weird with how they display in Preview and online...
Grrrr! I hate this color management crap!

  • LR3: Exports are dark and over-saturated

... or: LR3 shows everything dull and to light...
I've upload an image and described my problem her:
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/tcdk/4753052290/
    But here it is:
I'm having some color and curve problems with my exports, it all looks to dark and to saturated when I export from Lightroom 3. So I'm trying to figure out what's happening.
    Here's the setup:
    Windows XP
    Nvidia 8600GT graphics card
    One Dell 2407WFPHC screen
One Dell 2408WFP screen (my main)
Huey Pro color calibration kit (software version 1.51)
Everything calibrated. It looks good to me when I import in lightroom (from raw from Pentax K20D, and Panasonic LX3)
Exporting to jpeg (sRGB) or tiff and viewing in anything else the colors are darker and over-saturated (tried in firefox (profile aware), Internet Explorer, irfanview and chrome). Loading the jpeg into Lightroom and comparing it to the RAW, they look the same (not dark or over-saturated).
What you see above is a screen grab, of a test chart viewed in Lightroom and IrfanView. They where just imported/loaded - nothing was done. No development settings are applied as part of my LR3 import.
The colors in lightroom 3 are dull compared to the IrfanView.
    Sample rgb values:
    1 red:
    Lightroom 224,52,27 (not that pure)
    Irfanview 254,0,0 (~pure red)
    4 purple:
    Lightroom: 124,1,251
    irfanview:  131,0,254
    9 green:
lightroom: 126,255,54 (far from pure green)
    irfanview: 0,255,3 (pure green)
The red and the green are the worst - a lot more "energy" in them. So imagine the reverse process. I've a photo in Lightroom and it looks good to me. I export it and every 126,255,54 gets made into pure green. Darker and over-saturated!
I've no idea what's happning or what to do about it. I've tried everything I can think about.
I don't really think I had this issue with LR2 - not enough to notice anyway.
    System info:
    Lightroom version: 3.0 [677000]
Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (Build 2600)
    Version: 5.1 [2600]
    Application architecture: x86
    System architecture: x86
    Physical processor count: 2
    Processor speed: 1,8 GHz
    Built-in memory: 3007,1 MB
Real memory available to Lightroom: 716,8 MB
Real memory used by Lightroom: 278,4 MB (38,8%)
Virtual memory used by Lightroom: 266,7 MB
    Memory cache size: 49,7 MB
    System DPI setting: 96 DPI
    Displays: 1) 1200x1920, 2) 1920x1200
    Application folder: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3
    Library Path: P:\Lightroom\Lightroom 3 Catalog\Lightroom 3 Catalog\Lightroom 3 Catalog.lrcat
    Settings Folder: C:\Documents and Settings\Thomas Christensen\Application Data\Adobe\Lightroom

So in my case it seems I'm better off running uncalibrated as that seems to produce something more natural across the board than when I use calibration and it goes between extremes, fine or totally wrong... I can see the images fine on my controlled environment but if you're distributing online then things don't work out at all!
This is a very common misconception. Needless to say it is wrong. the only way you can get reasonable colors on everybody else's monitors is to calibrate your display and only trust color managed apps. If you don't calibrate and don't use color managed apps, your output will basically be completely random. At least with calibration and management you will be targeting the standard (sRGB) that most monitors cluster around (that's what they were designed to), so while individual monitors will be more or less random, on average they will show what you intended. If you don't calibrate and manage you will target only your specific monitor. Since this is a wide gamut display, the average viewer (who doesn't calibrate nor color manage) will see a dull desaturated image with respect to what you see.
Bottom line: If you use a wide gamut monitor, calibrate and only trust color managed apps. If you have a normal gamut monitor, calibrate and trust color managed apps the most, but non managed apps will be OK if you use sRGB as your export space. You cannot do away with the calibration step if you care about what others will see.

  • Light spot on iphone 6 screen

    Hello Friends,
I just got my new iphone 6 from ATT. After setting it up i found there is a white light (spot) which is brighter than the rest of the display. This light is visible on all light colors and not on dark colors. Let me know if this needs to be exchanged from Apple.
    Regards,
    Sathish.

Left end of screen. The light is pretty bright. For me it show up all the times under white and any light color background.
