Viewer window goes white when in pause

Hi all - I've been working on a multiclip project for a few days now and everything is going fine. Today for some reason in the middle of the workday the viewer window switched to white screen whenever I pause the video. It returns to normal when I press play again. I can still see the timecode and source info over a white background when in pause. Looked at all the view options and nothing seems to have been changed, quit and re-started project to no avail - does anybody know why this is happening? Thanks for you input.

Thanks Meg - that did it! It's strange though; in multiclip editing those options are not available in the viewer window drop down, had to first go to SHOW EXCESS LUMA which then made the RGB option available - and it worked. Thanks again.

See if any of these suggestions from appletoolbox.com work for you.
Please try each step until you resolve your issue:
Tap Settings > General > Date and Time > Set Automatically > Off. Set the date one year ahead. Then try to access the App Store.
It may be a connection issue. Try changing your DNS settings to Google’s open DNS by tapping Settings > Wi-Fi >, tap the blue arrow next to your current Wi-Fi network, and then tap the “DNS” field and enter the DNS servers; 8.8.8.8 (Google’s Public DNS). (see this article)
Close the App Store completely by pressing the home button twice, pressing and hold the App Store icon until it starts to wiggle, then tapping the minus sign to close it. Re-launch the App Store.
Restart your device by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button until “Slide to Power off” appears.
Launch the App Store; if it is still blank with nothing shown, wait a few minutes. Sometimes apps may load slowly because of networking issues.
If still nothing appears, try changing the device’s language by tapping Settings > General > International > Language. Pick a language. Pick any other second language you already know or be familiar with. If you don’t, do not forget to navigate back in a different language. Change the language, launch the App Store, then change the language back to what it was originally.
Sign out of your Apple ID by tapping Settings > iTunes & App Store, tap your Apple ID and select “Sign Out”. Wait one minute and sign back in by reentering your Apple ID and password.

I was struggling with this since my latest Itunes update. Fiirst it would not recognize my IPad as a device, after correcting that, it would list the Ipad in my device but my Sync had no options (summry, info, etc). and it kept saying it was "Accessing Itunes store". reading your question I suddently tried deleting the itunes task (alt-ctrl, delete, processes) and delete Itunes. (By the way, I had rebooted my computer several times over the last few days). I opened up Itunes, and voila. Device is there. No "accessing windows" and my sync has the normal options.

Samsung S5- Screen Going White when I Click on Pics

In Facebook app, I attach photos, then click on the photo to tag and it appears for a second and then the screen goes white-gray and then goes back to the status (the post), or, it doesn't even allow me to pull up the photo goes straight to the white-grayish screen, pauses, and back to the post, sometimes just deleting the post completely. This was working prior to today just fine. I have uninstalled and re-installed FB, and restarted the phone. I need this for work so I am in a bind, any help is appreciated!

Yup you can do that JennAG pulling the battery then holding in on the Power button while the battery is out is a Form of resetting a Device many of the older Androids that had batteries that you could pull out, you could then power cycle the phone) But when the Sealed back style of phone came out power cycling methods had to change a bit on some Devices you hold the Lower Volume and the power button some you hold the upper Volume and the Power and on some you can just hold the Power button it self allot different ways..
But on your s5 puling the Battery leaving it out for 10 min & holding in on the power button for 20 sec. you'll be Fine b

FCE4 - Capture window goes red when Safari open on my second screen

I have a Mac Pro 2008 Model with an nvidia 8800 graphics card and two 20' screens.
When I capture any video into FCE4, if I have Safari open on my other monitor, FCE capture window goes red and I am unable to view footage being imported. Exit out of Safari and the capture window appears. Sometimes, only half the window is red (diagonally)!!
Is there any software fix for this or does it mean anything else?

Have just checked with Firefox and it doesn't happen!! :-))
I only have one user on this mac and that's me.
My wife and two sons rarely use this machine as I use it for work.
Maybe I should have a second user just to check things like this out!

Safari window turns white when opening a new tab

Hi,
I noticed yesterday that when I launch Safari, and cmd click to open a new tab, the Safari window turns white for a second or two before coming back to life. This is an intermittent issue, I have only had it two or three times so far and it doesn't always happen.
Its kind of similar to when opening too many windows in MS and the GPU struggles to render the windows...
The only programs I have running at the time are Mail, VirusBarrier Traffic Monitor and, of course, Safari.
Has anyone else had a similar problem or know a solution???

There are no Mac viruses.
Traffic Monitor may also be causing the problem. Anytime you have A/V software and 3rd party add-ons, your Mac is more vulnerable to performance issues.

Window flashes white when unminimising

Im on a mac mini 2011 2.3GHz with 8GB of ram and an intel 3000HD and whenever i unminimise safari from the dock, the entire window flashes white for a second, it does it with no other application/browser, sometimes it doesnt do it(Rarely) its not a HUGE problem, buts its really annoying, is ther anything i can do, or is it because of the limited capabilities of my mac mini? im sure the ones i used in the apple store didnt do it
My display is running at 1900x1200
also my launchpad is really laggy, but thats for another thread
Just letting you know, my sisters macbook pro has none of these problems(The 2011 one with the same spec as my mac mini except ram)

Adobe premiere preview windows is white when i add pictures to the sequence

trying to make a movies from pictures, after addint pics to timeline, preview window shows white screen. How can i see the actual picture?

What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information

The screen on my iPad 2 goes white when I turn it on and black when I turn it off.

I've tried pressing the power button to reset it but nothing shows up.
The screen occasionally goes white as if I received a notification supposedly on my lock screen. Of course, it's just white this time.
I've also tried plugging it in but nothing works either. So I don't think it's a power problem.
I tried to plug it into the computer and bring up iTunes and checked to see it wasn't a storage problem either.
I can't back anything up since there isn't one on my computer and I don't have enough space on my hard drive to back it up.
I've had this iPad for around three years though and it's still in good shape.

To reset your iPad you have to push the Home and ON/OFF buttons at the same time.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost.
Try that.

Transparent background goes white when toggling 3d layer

Hello,
I have a project file with 2 layers on it. A background layer and a layer with some text on it. Every time I activate 3d view on the text layer, the background goes from transparent to white.
You can see for yourself here, this is my source file:

In the layer named "TextHere", enable the "3d layer" option and you'll see the background disappear.
It's the most annoying thing, I've scoured the web for an answer and keep coming up short.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

You're using the "Front" Camera by mistake. Switch from "Front" to "Active Camera" in the comp viewer and you'll be good to go.

Viewer shows only white when Browser clips selected?

I'm using FCP 7.0.3 on my iMac 10.8.3. I was fifteen minutes into a final edit on my project when my viewer stopped
displaying clips that I have in Browser bins. The Viewer shows only a white screen when clips are clicked. My timeline clips
display ok when clicked. In addition, I cannot see text color in the Viewer although it superimposes on the Timeline fine. I've
restarted and dumped the Library>Preferences> com.apple.RegFinalCutStudio.plist with no results. Anything else I can try without
dumping my project?

Check to see that RGB is checked for Viewer Display settings.

New window goes back when i click on the link

Hello guys.
i recently face the new problem in IE.
at first when i click on the hyperlink the new window opens fine.
but when i close the windows and try open them again, all new windows open in the back!!
its really wired!!
i test this in Windows xp. seven and 8. in IE 8, 9 and 11.
i really appreciate any kind of help.

There is an option for that. Try pressing Ctrl+Shift- when clicking on a link (Or just Shift- and click. I think it depends on your Tab settings.
Always switch to new tabs when they are created. E.g. background tab or background window, same effect.

All of a sudden I cannot view windows startup icon when powering on

I partitioned startup disk a couple of years ago using bootcamp and typically use the "option" key to select which startup disk to boot i.e. OS X or Windows when starting up - however the windows icon is now not available on the screen to select only the mac startup disk.
Any suggestions on how to rectify this would be appreciated.

Some of the reasons why a drive will not show up at the Startup Manager, is possibly corruption or an un-mounted drive. Try using Disk Utility to Verify Disk. Worst case scenario; you might have to remove and recreate that partition. From my experience, the SMC has been a known quick-fix for me, it's worth the try.

Preview monitor goes BLACK when I pause.

I'm using a 15" Macbook Retina with the Nvidia 650M GPU, and up until the 2014 version of CC was released I could use the CUDA acceleration. Now, I cannot use it without the video going black the second I pause. Help is appreciated.

Try the following:
Sign out from Creative Cloud, restart Premiere Pro, then sign in
Trash preferences
Ensure Adobe preference files are set to read/write
Delete media cache
Remove plug-ins
Repair permissions
In Sequence Settings > Video Previews, change the codec to one that matches your footage
Create a new user account with Admin privileges and launch Premiere Pro from there.
Disconnect any third party hardware
Reboot
Report back if anything here worked for you.
