Viewing 3D on a Hyundai monitor in 3D

Now, that there are cheap 3D-Displays (Hyundai 22" 600€), I would like to create my Director films so that they can be viewed in 3D. I could make the display oscillate between 2 frames, displaying left and right eye view, but this seems akward, mostly since my films usually wait for user interaction. Also, I cannot see how I could attribute different polarization directions out from Director. Is there any solution for this idea ?

You can view it using Viewer & Canvas in FCP. To properly monitor it you need something like the Matrox MXO and an Apple 23" cinema display. If you have one of the tower MacPro boxes, look into the Kona LHe or Kona 3 cards. I understand the new AJA i/o HD will also allow monitoring via firewire 800.
Good luck,

plug in your external monitor via the s-video and confirm its been recognised (turn it on ... you should see a second OS X desktop dislayed on it). go to your apple menu > system preferences and choose the displays pane. make sure you choose a display size that best represents your external moniters dimensions, and a refresh rate that your monitor supports.
now, with all that done, launch FCP ... it should recognise your 2nd display, which should appear in the list at View > Video Playback
do you see a list of playback devices there? if not, tell us what you do see in that list. try choosing View > Refresh A/V Devices, and then check the list again

  • Viewing interlaced footage on external monitor (HD Prores)

    Hi,
I have a project that I would like to watch on my Flatscreen LCD TV. My project is prores 422 1080i 50Hz (PAL) and so is my footage. My TV is connected to my Imac and set to 1080i 50Hz. FCP is set tot view all frames on external monitor (full screen) but the footage doesn't playback smoothly and still shows that it's interlaced (the TV doesn't process the footage as being interlaced). Is there a way to send an interlaced signal to a TV from FCP?

When in Mastering mode what the MXO driver is doing is interrupting the normal output of your Graphics card and instead sending uncompressed YUV + embedded audio from the application out via the graphics port (ie subverting the normal operation of the graphics card). The MXO then passes that output to its own video output ports for your monitoring pleasure, plus works some magic to translate the signal back as a color critical DVI reference signal for monitoring on a supported DV display.
... Or at least, thats my guess. But as you say, a rough understanding of the process does not make it any cheaper. Sorry about that.
    Cheers

  • FCPX. Viewing  timecode and scrolling in the viewer window on a second monitor?

I am an old FCP7 user, learning FCPX. In 7, I liked being able to see timecode and scrolling in the frame of the canvas window. I would move and enlarge the canvas to fill a second monitor. I could still see the timecode and be able to scroll without having to go back and forth with the timeline on the first monitor.
I don't like that in X, the timeline is the only place that shows timecode and scrolling.  So that when my viewer is in a second monitor, I have to go back and forth with the first monitor to view timecode and scroll. I put my script (word doc) on my first monitor which covers the FCP timeline. And makes it very cumbersome to view the script, view the movie in a large format and scroll/ get my orientation in the movie I am editing.
In FCPX, is it possible to view timecode and scrolling in the viewer window on a second monitor?

I don't use dual monitors, so this may not help, but my 1st thought is device driver version

•Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?

  • Viewing FCPHD on an NTSC Monitor

    Hello
I am going to purchase a MacBook Pro, and want to view my timeline on an NTSC Monitor. Do I need to spend $270 on an external Canopus Converter, or would a $20.00 DVI-SVideo adaptor work? I don't want to view ALL the FCP windows, just the timeline and canvas, etc.
Has anyone out there ever used one of these adaptors?
    Thanks
    Anneita

either get the canopus or just insert your camera or a dv deck between the computer and your monitor.
Computer to deck or camera via firewire, deck to monitor w/ith rca connectors.

  • View video on external HD Monitor in PP 5.0.3

Hi, I'm new to Premiere CS5 and I've been searching for a couple of hours and can't figure out how to playback HD video to an external HD monitor within Premiere Pro 5.0.3 and my Blackmagic Design card.  I can see and choose all the Blackmagic presets, view the video in Source and Program monitors in Premiere, but nothing shows up on my Samsung HD monitor. It works in FCP where I can choose from over 2 dozen HD video monitor playback options or Apple Cinema Desktop.  Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.
    Jim

Great suggestions. Thanks for your help.  Going back and making sure those settings were in play has given me playback through the Blackmagic card to my monitor!
    best,
    Jim

  • Viewing HDV on an external monitor

Have read some previous posts on this. I have a Sony GV HD 700 deck and using a Sharp 19" HDTV as my monitor. Can log and capture fine . . no issues. But can't view while editing. Need a capture card. Previous suggestions referred to a Black Magic Intensity card. That will run about $450-$500 here in Canada. Heard that I may be able to get by with a monitor card. Any input or suggestions? Am using a Canon XH A1 and expect to be using only that format (tape) for quite awhile as I'm retired and this has become more of a hobby business than a revenue producer.
    Appreciate any suggestions.

The Intensity won't work for you. In your specs you list a Dual 1.8Ghz G5...that is a PCI or PCI-X machine. The Intensity is PCIe only...that is the latest intel macs or last line of G5s only. So that is out.
Your other options are the matrox MXO that connects to a DVI port on your computer, or older Decklink capture cards (AJA is out as that is pricy).

  • Viewing images on hi res monitor

    Hello everyone...
I am new to this forum. I have a question that might be easy for some of you to explain.  I am using a dell 30 " monitor
that has a  resolution of 2560 x 1600. When I am working in Bridge, viewing full screen produces a fuzzy picture but
viewing at 100% produces a sharp picture but it is zoomed in too much. Is it possible to see the sharp picture but using
the entire screen? Or is it not possible because that would distort the image. Once I save an image as a JPEG and
I can utilize the whole screen and it is sharp. But while in bridge/photoshop full screen produces fuzzy image vs. viewing at 100%
which produces a sharp one but zoomed in too close to appreciate the whole image. thanks for any help

The only time you see the actual image pixels is when your viewing zoomed to 100%.  At any other zoom level your looking as a scale image not the actual image.  Print size image when view at 100% will not fit on your display for it can only display 2560x1600  a 4.1Mp  8:5 aspect ratio.  Most digital cameras even cell Phone capture images with more pixels and usually have a 4:3 or 3:2 aspect ratio images  some will also capture smaller image sized to HDTV a 16:9 aspect ratio 1920x1080 pixels  2.1 MP these will fit on your display and be a closer match to your display's 16:10 aspect ratio.
If your working on a large or small image you can have Photoshop zoom it to fit on your display there will be border for image Aspect Ration and Your Displays area aspect ratio will differ .  If you zoom it to fill the screen  the zoom level will be above or below 100% the image will be softer if above 100% then the actual image.  Adobe Photoshop uses a quick scaling so the scaled image is not the best it could be scaled.  If you want to see a better display size image you could re-size the image up or down in size resampling the image you have with a interpolation method like bicubic or bicubic smoother.   The image will be better then Photoshop zooming the image.  But remember every time you resample an image you loose some image quality. Not a single original pixel remains you have a completely new image interpolated from an other.  I do not recommend resampling your image to fit on your low 100 ppi resolution display.
When you print the image at a higher resolution then your display's 100PPI the printed image will be sharper and smaller then the image displayed on  your display.

  • Cannot view high quality on external monitor - Prores 422?

I am working on a music video and trying the Prores 422 codec for the first time. When I view the clips from the viewer in Final Cut pro I can insert in and outpoints as normal and watch the clips on my external monitor in full quality and that is all good (full quality and full screen 1080P).
But when I drag the clip into the timeline it becomes green. When I view the film on my external monitor now the resolution drops a bit and the quality looks coarse. Then I render it, but the same result occur (bad qality during viewing og the external monitor). I have managed good preview quality before (working with full quality, although that was from another camera and with a different codec, but still 1080P). I am using a laptop / Macbook Pro, 2.5 GHZ intel with 4GB of ram and an esata external drives + additinal FW 800 drives externally.

I did encode with Clipwrap (Prores 422 and for audio Convert Audio to LPCM). It seems Final Cut Pro does not recognize the settings as the sequence settings were to low.... as you said.
I tried changing the sequence settings to Prores 422 1920x1080 / 50i, with no change (it seemed like).
The camera I was shooting with is the Panasonic SD700 which shots at 50i (60 in the us).

  • Viewing the Source on external monitor

    Hello
I and using Premiere Pro 6 on a Mac Pro with a Decklink Extreme HD card.
I can view the Program on the external monitor through my Decklink card without a problem but when I switch to Source monitor I can't.
I regularly did this in Final Cut Pro for clients to see the rushes on the big screen but can't seem to on PP6.
Also, being new to PP and learning the shortcuts, is there a keyboard command to switch between Source and Program monitor ( it was Q on FCP )
    Any help really appreciated
    Thanks
    Paul

    What's your source footage?
I have a decklink card and it outputs fine from the source to grading monitor. The one thing it doesn't deal with is media that the monitor can't handle, so anything I have that is 50 or 60p doesn't show up because my monitor can't handle anything over 50i. But as soon as I put it into a 50i timeline it displays fine.

  • Viewing preview slideshow on two monitors

When I have two monitors working at the same time (20" apple flat + my 12" powerbook I have this problem: i go to view a slideshow from preview, nothing appears but a blank black screen. When I press the index sheet button, all the pictures appear in the index format clearly visible. I then press a picture from the index sheet and the selected photo zooms in to fill the screen where for a short moment ( say 1 second ) it stays before disappearing again to the black screen. Could anyone be so kind to let me know how to rectify this problem. But when I just use the powerbook to use preview's slideshow, it works. Please does any one know what the problem is here, and if there is a solution?

    Sorry if I was unclear.
Like the screen saver, I wish to play my slideshow on 2 monitors simultaneously (not either/or, one at a time, as your suggestion does).
Screen saver alternates between my 2 monitors, zooming and panning à la the Ken Burns effect. With hundreds of pics, it can go through them in half the time, without having to cut the individual slide duration in half.
I then go to iTunes separately to start a playlist playing.
It appears that when Aperture says that it can make use of 2 monitors, it's only one at a time. I use shift-s to create a quick slideshow that I show to customers; I have to hem-and-haw when they ask, "Why don't you show it on both monitors? Even Screen Saver can do that. I thought Aperture was a pro application."

    Hello everybody,
Sorry for my english, I write normaly in french, but we have more result in english.
I have a problem with SCOM 2012. I try to catch all snmp traps sended by a 2960 CISCO switch on a EventView with a specific rule (Authoring->Rule->Collection Rules -> Event Based -> SNMP Trap (Event) based on the object target "Node")
I creat a specific management pack juste for the rule and the views.
SNMP Monitoring - CISOC 2960 => It's OK, I can have the processor state, utilization, etc ...
SNMP Monitoring Ubuntu computer => It's OK, I can have all the state I want.
SNMP Traps => The switch or the computer send traps over the network, and I can see in wireshark, the server receive the traps
SNMP Service (Windows service) => Disabled
SNMP trap (Windows service) => Disabled
Health Service (Windows service) => Enabled
Port 162 UDP => Open and listenning by the MonitoringHost.exe
Firewall rules => Everythinks is OK
SNMP Trap send version is => 2c
SNMP Monitoring device version is => 2c

Do you know a workaround? Or a different way to catch all the traps from a network device and show them (traps) on a event views.

    Hello Yan Li,
I read your link, and I found this :
The network devices must be discovered and registered as ICMPSNMP devices.
And when I make the dicovery the first time, ICMP doesn't work, so I put only SNMP. This morning I tried with ICMP and SNMP, but the same problem come to me. And I found the rootcause of the problem with this post : http://www.code4ward.net/main/Blog/tabid/70/EntryId/105/Troubleshooting-Network-Discovery-in-SCOM-2012.aspx
I allowed the SNMP service, ping, and Health Service, just after I try a second time to dicover my device and it's work (ICMP and SNMP).
I recreat all my management pack and the rule. And now it's work! Thank you very much for your help!!
    Have a nice day

  • Viewing Premiere Timeline on NTSC Monitor?

As some of you here may know, I have been having a hell of a time with the MATROX RTX10 capture card and have thus opted to uninstall this from my sys.
I am under the understanding that Premiere Pro CS3 will NOT work with the RTX10 anyway, because Matrox is no longer supporting drivers for any version of Premier Pro above 2.0. ___ Correct ____ Not Correct
Given the above, I have, at the advice of some here, purchased the Canopus ADVC-110 Bidirectional Media Converter from B&H. Now that I have this box, does anyone know how I can get it to actually display the Premiere Pro 2.0 timetrack on an NTSC monitor? When I plug the converter into my sys using the provided firewire and invoke Premiere Pro 2.0, I get no picture out onto the NTSC monitor no matter what setting I click on the Canopus converter box. Should I first uninstall the Matrox card and drivers? Should I UNinstal Premiere Pro 2.0 and then install Premiere Pro CS3 (which is sitting in a box on my desk right now) and try the Conopus converter with this version instead? Anyone familiar with operation of these converter boxes?
    Thanks,
    James

    >It's also in 2.0. I don't know what else to tell you regarding this, though. When I set my External Device to my camera, it just works.
I'm not trying to go to a camera, I'm trying to send the Premiere timetrack to an NTSC monitor.
    >Are you sure the 110 has power?
It lights up, so it's getting power. The directions say it will power up with the 6-pin firewire cable but not the 4-pin.
    >I understand the device doesn't come with the adapter, and you need to use a 6 pin to 6 pin Firewire if you want to get power that way.
I am using the 6-pin firewire.
