Viewing actual lat/lon data in iPhoto

I want to view the actual lat/lon GPS data inclosed in a photo shot on my iPhone ?

HoughDah Geo can read the iPhoto database and display the Lat/Long - it also can automatically copy it to other photos based on time or add it from other sources including GPS trackers

  • Converting large amounts of points - 76 million lat/lon's to spatial object...

    Hello, I need help.
Platform - Oracle 11g 64bit on Windows Enterprise server 2008 64bit.  64 GB of ram with 2 CPUs totalling 24 cores
Does any one know of a fast way to convert large amounts of points to a spatial object?  I need to convert 76 million lat/lon's to ESRI st_geometry or Oracle sdo_geometry.
Currently, I have setup code using pipelined parallel functions and multiple jobs that run concurrently.  It still takes over 2.5 hours to process all of the points.
Any pointers would be GREATLY appreciated!
    Thanks
    John

    Hi,
Where is the lat/lon data at the moment?  In an external text file or in an existing database table as number attributes?
If they're in an external text file, then I'd probably use an external table to load them in as quickly as possible.
If they're in an existing database table, then you can just update the sdo_geometry column using:
    update <table> set <geometry column> = sdo_geometry(2001, <your srid>, sdo_point_type(<lon column>, <lat column>, null), null, null)
where <lon column> is not null
    and <lat column> is not null;
That should run very quick for you.  If you want to avoid the overhead of creating redo, you could use "create table .... as select...".  This example of creating 1,000,000 points runs in 9 seconds for me.
create table sample_points (geometry) nologging as
      (select sdo_geometry(2001, null,
      sdo_point_type(
      trunc(100000 * dbms_random.value()),
      trunc(100000 * dbms_random.value()),
      null), null, null)
      from dual connect by level <= 1000000);
I have setup code using pipelined parallel functions and multiple jobs that run concurrently
You shouldn't need to use pl/sql for this task.  If you find you do, then provide some sample code and we'll take a look.

  • Excel formula to calculate the distance between multiple points using lat/lon coordinates

I'm currently drawing up a mock database schema with two tables: Booking and Waypoint.
Booking stores the taxi booking information.
Waypoint stores the pickup and drop off points during the journey, along with the lat lon position. Each sequence is a stop in the journey.
How would I calculate the distance between the different stops in each journey (using the lat/lon data) in Excel?
Is there a way to programmatically define this in Excel, i.e. so that a formula can be placed into the mileagecolumn
    (Booking table),
lookup the matching sequence (via bookingId)
for that journey in the Waypointtable
    and return a result?
    Example 1:
    A journey with 2 stops:
    1 1 1 MK4 4FL, 2, Levens Hall Drive, Westcroft, Milton Keynes 52.002529 -0.797623
    2 1 2 MK2 2RD, 55, Westfield Road, Bletchley, Milton Keynes 51.992571 -0.72753
4.1 miles according to Google, entry made in mileage column
    in Booking table
    where id
    = 1
    Example 2:
    A journey with 3 stops:
    6 3 1 MK7 7DT, 2, Spearmint Close, Walnut Tree, Milton Keynes 52.017486 -0.690113
    7 3 2 MK18 1JL, H S B C, Market Hill, Buckingham 52.000674 -0.987062
    8 3 1 MK17 0FE, 1, Maids Close, Mursley, Milton Keynes 52.040622 -0.759417
27.7 miles according to Google, entry made in mileage column
    in Booking table
    where id
    = 3
I understand that 100% accuracy is not possible, so it will not be an issue.

  • Is it possible to view data backed up to iCloud (such as contacts from an old iPhone) without actually restoring the data to a device?

Can I view contacts backed up to the iCloud from my old iPhone without actually restoring the data on a new device?

If you have a backup, yes,  You can restore the new device from the old backup.  Without a backup, no.
Without a backup, and without the device, you no longer have any of your data to put on anything anymore.
You can redownload purchased content from the iTunes and App stores - just use the same AppleID as you did with the old device.

  • Any way to set picture locations to a specific lat/lon?

I've got a bunch of pictures in my iPhoto library that were taken at interesting places that aren't listed in the little database of landmarks that is pre-loaded into iPhoto '09. (For example: at the top of a mountain, or on a particular bridge, etc.) It's easy to find these places in Google Earth, so I know the exact latitude/longitude... but how can I tell iPhoto this information if the mountain/bridge/etc. isn't famous enough to be listed? Is there any way to just type in a latitude and longitude?
    Thanks!

(However, that's a really cumbersome task if I'm going through a large roll of photos.
Select all photos taken at the same location and enter the location for all of them at once.
It would be great if there were a way to just type in a lat/lon if I know it
I don't see a difference in assigning a name to a lat/long entry or assigning a name to a "pin" location on a map.
because it's written in the picture file's EXIF header!
My understanding is that these photos will have to be re-imported if you want iPhoto '09 to "scan" the data and add it to the iPhoto '09 database if the photos where originally imported under iMovie '08.

  • Discoverer Viewer not showing correct data when scheduled

    Hi All,
I have a bit of an ongoing issue and cannot find an answer through Oracle.
We have an issue that when a cross-tab workbook is run manually in Desktop this returns correct data, when scheduled in desktop it returns correct data in desktop, but when opening the scheduled workbook in viewer, incorrect and irrelevant data is returned
    Here is a little information on the field that is not returning correct data;
The field is based on a calculation, the calculation (lets call BOB) contains PL/SQL function concatenated with an NVL calculation, this other calculation is a DECODE. I have been playing with changing the content of the BOB calculation, by removing the PL/SQL function and the DECODE calc from BOB and scheduling the report, the data is returned in viewer, in fact i've attempted one without the other and this still does not return the correct data.
This version of discoverer that is not returning data is V 10.1.2.50.05. I've tested this on a later environment with Discoverer V 10.1.55.26 and the data is returning correctly through the sceduled report in viewer.
    My questions;
    1. Has anyone ever come across something similar to this in version 10.1.2.50.05
    2. Is there any detail available regarding what upgrading to 10.1.55.26 offers?
    3. Know any workaround for using PL/SQL calculations in a scheduled workbook? I am aware that not aggregable items will not be returned in v11 when scheduling workbooks.
Many thanks in advance for any help.

  • Album view in order of date added. Is it possible?

album view in order of date added. Is it possible?
In v10 I got used to ordering my music library with the newest additions on top, date added with the album view if it didn't take up more space.
Now it's just the songs and I really don't like this. Album view is interesting but usless in alphebetical order which seems to be the default.
I was told by another person here to use a smart playlist but the method they suggested was not clear.
Can someone please explain how to do this or if there is a better alternative for someone who liked the old song view>date added>with album art?
    -thanks

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. By "nr" are you referring to the shipping invoice that comes with the book? If so the answer is no. To order a book the library containing the book needs to be used.
If someone had a copy of the library that created the book initially they could order a book on their own Apple account without you knowing about it. *+BUT they would have to have a copy of the iPhoto LIbrary to do so.+*
So unless you think someone had access to your computer which housed the library a second copy of the book could not have been ordered.

  • How to sort photos in albums by date in iPhoto '11

For some reason that I have yet to divine, iphoto 11 jumbles the order of photos in any album I create. For example, I have an album called 'Family', and rather than display the photos by the date they were taken, it jumbles them into a mish mash of images. I took 50 pics yesterday and imported them last night. I opened iphoto today to make some edits, and the photos have been dispersed throughout an album of thousands of images. I know I can go and examine the images in 'Events' or 'Photos', but I'd like to see them in context with the rest of my family photos.
Is there some way to get albums to sort photos by date taken like the older versions of iphoto?
    Thanks in advance,
    Peter

I may be getting confused with what you need here but does going to:
"View --> Sort Photos --> By Date" solve things?

  • How to recover data in iPhoto?

How to recover data from iphoto?

I haven't done any conscious backup.
Time to start. Now. Using a computer without a back up is like driving without a seat belt. You'll be fine as long as nothing goes wrong, but if something does go wrong it'll be a much bigger mess.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Actual goods issue date required to be equal to planned goods issue date

    Hi All,
Can anybody tell me on what basis does the actual goods issue date get determined and what needs to be done if we want to restrict the actuall goods issue date to be equal to the planned goods issue date?
    Avinash

    Avinash,
Can anybody tell me on what basis does the actual goods issue date get determined
???? It is the date that the goods are actually issued from stock, e.g. whatever the date was when the delivery was actually issued, that is the date that is normally written to this field in the delivery.
what needs to be done if we want to restrict the actual goods issue date to be equal to the planned goods issue date
That's a pretty restrictive criteria.  Basically, you are telling the warehouse that they are not able to issue the goods early or late.  In companies I have seen, that would constitute a lot of deliveries.  Hope your customers don't need the parts....
Anyhow, the restriction would have to be against the goods issue transactions being used by the warehouse.  I don't believe there is any standard configuration that creates such a restriction, so it would require custom development.  If you pursue this restriction, make sure you leave yourself some kind of override.
In many companies, this problem is handled through policy and procedure.  Warehouse manager simply creates a policy about early and late goods issues.  The system will track discrepancies in the case the policy is not followed.

  • How can I save captured clips to hard disk using the actual video recorded date, not the date I transferred it?

When using Batch capture in AP5.5, the clips are saved to hard disk using the capture date as the Created Date and Modified Date.  How do I configure Premier to use the actual clips recorded date (Meta Data Basic/Date Created) so that I can view them in Windows folders and other applications based on the date the video was recorded, not when I imported it.

AFAIK, there's no way to do that with Premiere Pro.  You can probably find a utility on the Internet that will change the dates for you after the fact.

  • Lat/Lon Format

Canon 5D III, Canon GP-E2 GPS, LR 5.2
The Lat/Lon format in LR is displayed as:

That is very inconvenient for any other work.
The desired Lat/Lon format needs to be

I can’t find a way to change the format.  Can any one help?

Do you know of such a plugin and where to get it?
Jeffrey Friedl's metadata viewer will format it just the way you want, out of the box:
    http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies/metadata-viewer
It's a one-at-a-time thing, and takes a second or two for results.
If you want something more persistent and immediate, which you can use in lib-filters and/or smart collections..., consider ExifMeta - use the 'GPS Lat-Long in Decimal' preset (preset manager section of plugin manager).

  • Help - lost motherboard, auto save saved older script, newer script actually with older date.

    Adobe story team:
I had a best script to date, on an older hard drive and the motherboard failed on my HP tower.  The sony laptop has a more recent dated script, but not the one I want.  How do I replace an "older" date script, one that I want for a newer script.  I don't want the newer script, I want the older one that is on a "pulled" hard drive again, from a tower that failed.
Do I save the older file on an offline, using a new ID, new password, forever changed or what can I do?
I need a fairly quick response, timing is critical.  HP tower is the problem.

    thanks

You have it half right.  the issue is the HP tower I had failed.  The mother board failed, I pulled the hard drive which is windows 7, I have a sony laptop which is in 32 bit vista, I am not sure if the different versions will be an issue.  can i take a file off the pulled hard drive and put it somewhere in a directory even with the different windows vista vs windows 7 if so which file should i copy on the pulled hard drive and where do i put it on the laptop, directory plus I will go back on online save it in the clouds and reformat the laptop and go to windows 7 then go back to adobe story  and go from there. thank you for your quick attention in this matter.

    Hi
I am not sure if I understand your problem correctly, but as far as I can make out you had been working on a script and then it got autosaved and now you wish to go back to the "older" script.
In order to do so you may visit your document's history through the View->History option. There you will see older versions of your document (if you had not turned off autoversioning). You may then open an older version of the document from the panel by double clicking on it. Once on an older version you will get to see the "Make Latest" option. Clicking on that will make the "older" state of your document your "current" state and then you may proceed to edit the document as usual.
I hope this is helpful to your situation. In case you face any issues in following the mentioned steps do let us know.
    Thanks

  • Is there any way of dragging and dropping an iCal event showing in week view across to a date in the left sidebar monthly calendar?

Hi, Im not a frequent forum poster, as most of my questions can be found already answered on them!
This is a question Ive had for a long time and it amazes me that no-one else seems to ask it. I check at each OS upgrade but its never there...
Is there any way of dragging and dropping an iCal event showing in week view across to a date in the left sidebar monthly calendar?
I was able to do this years ago in MS Outlook, and utilized it all the time when I needed to push things back, now I have to open the event and select an new date in the drop-down calendar for each & every event I want to move to a new month at the end of the month.
If its definitely not possible, how to you ask apple to consider including it - it doesnt seem like a particularly difficult task.
    Thankyou
    Andrew.

    Andrew,
Is there any way of dragging and dropping an iCal event showing in week view across to a date in the left sidebar monthly calendar?
No, but you can use cut/paste. Cut (⌘X) the event, then click on the week where you want to move the event, and Paste (⌘V).
If you have a suggestion for Apple to change that method use: Apple - Mac OS X - Feedback.
