Viewing adjusted Raw pictures on iPad

I can't see adjusted Camera Raw files on my iPad after syncing with iTunes.  Can you help?

Since Photoshop does not run on the iPad, I suggest you explore "Photoshop Touch" for the iPad, although I do not know if it supports raw files or not.
The Touch applications have their own separate forums.

I have a fujifilm X100, at first there were no issues viewing my RAW photos but now all of a sudden the pictures come up as "unsupported image format".  How do I fix this?

No, I did not do any updates between the time that the files were viewable and when they were not.  I was actually without an internet connection for a few days when the problem started.  I reported the bug to apple and have since been contacted by them asking for a few sample images so they can figure out the problem, so I'm hoping they come up with an answer for me.

  • HT4236 How to view pictures from iPad in my computer?

I just bought a new iPad. I bought also app " Star walk". I like the app. The problem I have is: When I e-mail pictures (of stars, sky, ..etc.) to my self from my ipad, I store them in my computer (windows 7) in (My Pictures) folder. But the images appear blank under the name "file". All my pictures are in JPEG format. How can I convert pictures from iPad into JPEG so that I can view them or post them on my blog?

Are you taking the pics via screenshots?

If so, the pics are in .png format. You should be able to change to .jpg using a graphics app on your computer.

  • Viewing Canon 7D RAW images on iPad

I'm a photographer and I'm interested in getting an iPad if it will let me view the RAW images on a memory card in the field to determine their quality. I don't want to use the iPad as a backup storage device; I just want to view the RAW images in a large enough size to determine whether I should keep them or throw them away. Then I want to delete those images *+from the memory card and from the iPad.+*
From what I've read so far, it seems that you must actually download the images onto the iPad before you can view them large (i.e. you can't zoom the thumbnails displayed from the card itself.) Is this correct?
Then, presumably, once I've reviewed the images on the iPad, I'd have to reconnect the memory card in order to delete the ones I don't want. Would I have to re-download these selected images to the iPad in order for it to give me the option of deleting them from the memory card or can I just instruct it to delete the selected images directly from the card? I have a Canon 7D that produces 18MP RAW images, so I want to do as little unnecessary transferring of files as possible.
I'm also trying to find out if the iPad handles RAW images from the 7D. I've seen conflicting information about this.
    Thanks for any help.

Using the camera connection kit you can download the raw files and the iPad will show them, but you will not actually see the raw data. What you see is the same that you see on the LCD on your camera (when you shoot raw). It is the JPG preview that is embedded into each raw file. There is no raw editing on the iPad.
Using the camera connection kit you can download selected images and then decide to delete those from the camera or card. It is not a file manager, though. The only functionality you have is to select them, copy them onto the iPad, then after that's complete delete the ones you copied from the card. If you decide not to delete them right away I think you have to go through the procedure of downloading them again to be able to delete them.
I don't have a 7D so I can't confirm if the iPad recognizes those raw files properly.
I'm a photographer as well and I found the iPad to be not useful to use as a device to check images during a shoot. You have to initiate a file copy each time by hand and since there is no raw processing whatsoever you can't inspect the raw photo to fine tune exposure. I still use a normal laptop running Lightroom tethered to my camera when I shoot in a studio.

  • RAW picture previews loading extremely slow since IOS 8 using the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit

    Hi all
First, sorry for my poor english, I hope you understand my problem.
Device is iPad Air Wi-Fi with IOS 8.
I just realized this issue yesterday. I wanted to import some of my RAW pictures from my Nikon camera's SD card, using the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit. In the Photos app / Import tab, the RAW picture previews show extremely slow. It takes a second to show each photo preview before import. A second for every single picture preview
For example, if you have 500 pictures on your SD card, and you want to import pictures from this card but just some selected, then you need to wait for an overview preview a lot of minutes. On IOS 7 this process was maybe 10 seconds for all of the pictures...

Same problem here. As a professional wedding photographer, sifting through my photos while on the go is the reason for me purchasing the iPad (Retina) 2 years ago, I now have an $800 paperweight after iOS8.x.x. Apple, if you actually read these, please inform your engineers to fix this in the next update or at least provide us with a solution to return to iOS7.x.x. Makes me wonder if there is any QA or testing that goes on before an update is released. As an FYI, here's my thread from a few weeks ago: Native Photos App, Slow... No, I mean really slow.

Hello, I have been experiencing similar problems and followed the suggestion and yes, the raw icon comes up as illustrated but there is nothing there to indicate any further action can be taken.  So I am presuming that means it is installed and no further action required?
Here's my problem:  I have had no problems  getting my pics into my organiser in Elements 12 from either my Nikon D7100 or my Fujifilm X100S - until last week.  Suddenly when they are imported all I see is the timer icons but they don't open to let me view them.  If I click on one it will open and I can then edit it but it will not save an image onto the grid for me to view so it's really frustrating not being able to view all my photos in order to decide what to edit and compare them.
Here's what action I've taken so far - restarted the computer (endlessly), checked the updates and installed them, checked I have the latest raw plug in (I do) and gone into edit/update thumbnail (doesn't do a thing) - and torn out a fair amount of my hair.  So anyone out there experienced this and can give me some advice? Please?

  • What is your workaround - removing RAW files from iPad without a computer

    Hello
Over the last couple days I have searched virtually the entire web for a solution for a photo workflow that would allow me to only have my ipad with me when I am on a vacation and still being able to review my images without running out of memory.
Here's the issue on which I couldn't find any solution:
When using the ipad with the camera connection kit (CCK) then the import function will always copy the raw files along with the jpg to the ipad. There is no way of selecting to only import the jpg files.
(At least if you have only 1 CF card slot - Canon 5DMk2)
I already wrote to apple asking for offering that option in their importing dialogue.
Unfortunately it appears that many photographers also ran into the very same issue - but other than buying a 128GB ipad there appears to be no workaround.
Does anybody know a decent solution?
    My goal would be:
    1. Import the RAW files to iphoto on the ipad
    2. Create smaller jpg versions
    3. Delete the originals in iphoto to free up space
    4. Use the smaller versions on the ipad for showing/reviewing

You don't need to do raw processing on iPad, if you shoot in RAW+JPEG mode.  Then, you can preview JPEG on iPad and leave RAW processing for when you get home to your computer.  The trouble is that iPad imports both RAW+JPEG and runs out of space; which is difficult to recover because iPad lacks "delete all raw" button.
Thousands of photographers have been asking for this workflow for years.  Apple knows, but Apple chose to do nothing.  I'm giving up on Apple.
Does anyone know of a 3rd party app which can use Camera Connection Kit to import only JPEG versions of photos from an SD card or a camera?  Does this app allow one to select all pictures and delete them after they are no longer needed on the iPad?
Remember: This has to function in the middle of nowhere, using just a camera and iPad.  No computer!  Many photographers prefer to travel light.

  • IOS 8.1 is viewing of raw files in photos app fast?

After upgrading from ios 7 to ios 8 the viewing of raw photos (nikon NEF) in the photos app became very slow.
Is this still the case wit IOS 8.1? Under ios 7 viewing nikon nefs was as fast as viewing jpegs.I have an ipad air of the first generation.

Yes.  It has been sped up, but only a little.. It's still freezing on images and crashing.
I'm selling my iPad and iPhone because of this and all the other bugs.

  • Viewing my edited pictures.

Adobe Photo shop elements is not user friendly. It is in fact the most difficult programme I have ever used. Simple questions are not answered and I cannot find the answers!
Anyway I need help I finally managed to watermark my files they have been saved but when I want to view them on my laptop in the normal windows view the thumbnail just shows the photo shop elements logo and I have to double click each file seperatley and they open in the edit programme. I want to open them and flick through my edited pictures without having to enter adobe photo shop elements and without having to open each one individually someone please help. And can anyone give me a direct address to give feedback on this cryptic programme. Thanks in advance.

    Hi, RGS1288
When Hatstead asks  "Did you save the edited files as JPEG or PSD files?" we are expecting answers to this question, because this will help us understand exactly what you have done. We are not expecting you to write another paragraph without answering to this question.
When they are saved they only save to adobe photo shop I use windows and want them saved in there RAW format so I can view them in the orgional folder
Adobe software will not save a RAW. Furthermore, if you want to view the photo via Windows, you would need to save it as a TIF or JPG or (maybe PSD). And you probably need to make sure the file associations are set properly so these photos will open in Windows Picture Viewer. But I wonder why any of this is necessary, the RAW photo (and any other photo) can be easily viewed in PSE Organizer (or Editor), so why bother with Windows Picture Viewer now? It just seems like the requirement to view in Windows Picture Viewer is just making things more complicated.

  • Cannot send RAW Pictures per Mail

I loaded several RAW Pictures from my Canon 5D M II at my iPad. Then I tried to send a picture via Mail to a friend. The picture program freezed a while and the iPad switched to the front desktop without sending the mail. I tried it with other pictures without a success.
    Has anybody the same foult?

Those raw files are too large for email. Most email providers have a 10 mb limit. The files from your camera are much larger. To transer large files you can use an ftp server (Goodreader is a great app that handles large files and connects to ftp servers and much more).

  • How do I create sub folders for imported pictures in iPad albums?

I have imported some photos to my iPad for a presentation. The pictures were in different folder under the main folder. After I import the main folder the sub folders are deleted and now all the picture are in one folder. How can I keep the original main folder with sub folders when importing pictures in iPad photo?

Not within the Photos app, but there are other photo management apps in the App Store which allow you to create albums within albums e.g. Photo Manager Pro - that app lets you copy photos to/from the Photos app and copy photos via iTunes : Photo Manager Pro help pages.
