Viewing and saving XLS/DOC files on iPhone?

Is there a good program that will let me save and view XLS or DOC files on my iPhone? I have an XLS file I'd like to edit on my iPhone, and so far I've been using Google Docs, which isn't the greatest site on the iPhone. Free programs are preferred, as I've heard that Air Sharing is one of the better pay options.

Documents Free is a free one... gets some not so good ratings... but hey its free you can delete it if its no good
i have used documents to go on other smartphones and they always tend to work great... the one on app store is only 4.99 while i had to pay 39.99 for my palm version back when looks like the iphone one only does word... hmm maybee thats why its 4.99 not as full featured as the old ones.
guess you could upload it to google docs and view/edit them via the browser.

My problem is how to use my BB 9800 software version 6.0.0.546 to read/view pdf files and microsoft office documents. I have also bought documents to go from online and have installed it on my phone, but whenever i try to open it I receive a message that it is incompactible. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Why not install a 3rd party PDF reader and Word Doc reader to help open and read pdf and micrsoft word (.doc) files or documents? You can google it and select one whose way of processing is simple and fast to help you with the related converting work. It will be better if it is totally manual and can be customized by users according to our own favors. Remember to check its free trial package first if possible. I hope you success. Good luck.

You may scan by using the HP ePrint Home and Biz app.
Below you may find the steps to get the App:

Set the scan as Document and it will be saved as PDF.
You may also share the scanned files from the app.

New to iPad from android/PC...How can I view PDF, XLS, DOC files when I am not connected to wifi?

I understand that GoodReader is able to open PDF, XLS, DOC, etc., but is not actually able to edit them.
Documents-to-Go can edit them, but will they be stored on my iPad?
Evernote seems to be able to access them without being connected to wifi, but cannot edit spreadsheets that I am aware of.
Does anyone have any good suggestions to be able to access documents while in airplane mode?

I receive sales orders by email. I want to filter some to print on my default network printer and others to print on another network printer. The email body must print as well as txt, .pdf, .xls, .doc attachments.

You can filter messages to file them to a certain folder, but I don't think you can have Thunderbird to automatically print them.

Which OS are you running (Snow Leopard, Lion, etc). You can check this by clicking on the Mac button on the top left corner of your screen and clicking on "About this Mac"
Also if you have just udated Safari to 5.1.7 (like I just did) old versions of Flash Player are automatically disabled for security reasons, I had to reinstall Flash a couple of minutes ago.

Word 2007 Addin to add Watermark image saved as .doc file

I currently have an addin that was developed to work in both Word 2007 and Word 2010 with the assumption the addin would be used on .docx files. However, it is now required to also work on .doc files but still with Word 2007 and Word 2010. Although
the following code works in both versions of Word, it will only work on .docx files and not .doc files. On the line:

Modifying and saving a Excel file by the use of Blob-Stream Method?

I wrote a PL/SQL Procedure which get the Excel file and convert it to blob; after that send it as the parameter of a Java source called TestPrintExcel

Because i get permission error when i use another methods like FileOutputStream, FileInputStream etc.Permission errors are generally resolved by granting the proper privilege via DBMS_JAVA.grant_permission procedure.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Note: Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

If you have a link to the URL pointing to the PDF file, you can allow the browser to open it. Then use the print function of the browser to print the PDF document.

Importing masters from iPhoto to Aperture 3 and saving as referenced files on external drive

I'm making the move from iPhoto to Aperture 3.I'm new to Aperture 3 and want o make sure I am importing and saving correctly. So far, I have imported my library of events from iphoto to Aperture 3. I understand that for the most part, it makes sense to house this library on an external drive as "referenced files" vs within Apeture as "managed files." I'm not clear on exactly how to accomplish this set-up. Is this something I should have set-up when doing the initial import or can I move the files now? Once this is done, when importing new files, how do I import to Aperture 3 but save on external drive?

In the olden days ( ) when hobbyists made their own telescopes from kits, everyone wanted a six-inch lens, and the kit makers shipped six-inch lens blanks. Which the hobbyists used to learn lens grinding. Which is arduous and requires skill. Which the hobbyists didn't have until they'd ground that six-inch blank -- an expensive piece of high-quality material at the time -- into a lumpen flawed approximation of a good lens. Then the hobbyists would contact the kit makers and ask for another lens-blank, so they could build their telescope. At which point they would drop the project because the six-inch lens blank cost so much. And much calumny was rained on the kit manufacturers.
Now the kit manufacturers wanted to promote a hobby, and make, in addition to telescope kits, money (not calumny), so they together and separately hit upon the idea of supplying the hobbyist with _two_ lens blanks: a four-inch blank, and a six inch blank. Nobody wanted a four-inch telescope -- but that's not what the blank was for. The instructions read (I've shortened this part) "Grind the four-inch blank into the most perfect lens you can. Check it and re-check it. Now throw it out. You likely now have the skill to grind the six-inch blank into a useable lens."
Thus endeth our fable.
The point, of course, is: start small and gain skill before committing time and material to a task. Port just a small sub-set of you photos into Aperture. Experiment with it. Try different workflows. Think about how to best use the containers and organization tools Aperture provides. Develop a long-term naming convention for files and Projects. Work out a back-up strategy that is scalable and that you will stick with. My specific recommendation for beginners is: don't worry about Referenced v. Managed at first. Make all your Masters Managed. When you have your four-inch Aperture Library all smooth and even, put the entire thing in the system trash -- and then you can start working on an Aperture Library fit for your photos -- one that will allow you to see far, and clear, for years.

Problems with fast web view and really large PDF files.

If "allow speculative downloads in background" is set then the Fast Web view becomes nonfunctional. Reader is makeing the HTTP Byte range requests but will ask for almost the entire PDF file in one range (180 MB of the 182 MB file).
If "allow speculative downloads in background" is not set then Fast Web view is working fine, Reader is making more HTTP Byte range requests but the larges ones are still small 20K or so.
Is this behavior being experianced by anyone else?
What are the disadvantages, if any, of having "allow speculative downloads in background" turned off?
My environment:
182 MB pdf file (Optimized) around 41,000 pages. I have also seen this with 42 MB and 25 MB pdf files.
IE 6
Reader 9.2
Apache webservers (On Solaris Apache 1.3.20 and Linux Apache 2.0)

Hi,
The signing tool use Capicom (Library from .NET) to generate attached digital signature. I also tried signing with .net class SignedCms but the result is the same. What I don't understand is why some PDFs are working and others are not.
For example, I uploaded here a signed PDF which can be opened up succesfully: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/104591126/PDFs/Signed_Dummy1.pdf (it is the same PDF but I didn't enable the fast web view)
Can you suggest other signing method?

On the Symantec website, when I clicked for more info, it opened a web page, but the Firefox menu did not appear in the upper right corner. I wanted to print the page. I right-clicked to save the page to my hard disc. I still want to print it. What do I do?

In nearly all situations, Ctrl+p should call up the Print dialog. (Unfortunately, there isn't a similar shortcut to go to Print Preview so you can see what you're going to get.)
