Viewing Animate GIFS on iPod Touch?

Is it possible to view animated GIFs on a 2nd Gen iPod Touch? Only the first frame shows if you load one as a picture (as I suspected but had to try.)

It's because the webcam viewer uses a Java Applet to display. The iPod touch does not support Java.
If its your own webcam, you may be able to find an alternative webcam displayer based on Javascript or even a simple HTML page refresh, which would work fine on the iPod touch.
In fact, if you enter http://www.falmouthphotos.com/towercam2.jpg into the iPod touch browser you can view the static webcam image directly.

  • Viewing This Forum on iPod Touch/iPhone?

Is there some PDA-friendly formatted version of Apple Discussions available?

    Haha!
    Good point!
If apple expects other websites to develop iphone/touch enhanced sites why don't they develop ones of their own?
The touch is great for browsing most web pages, but I find that sites with a lot of text & links (most forums) can frequently be a problem, and lately I've been having a lot of Safari crashes on my iPod Touch when trying to browse text-heavy pages...

  • ITunes crashes when viewing purchased songs on iPod Touch 4g, ios 6.1.3

Hi.  I purchased some songs in iTunes, then purchased a new iPod Touch 4g.  On it, I opened the iTunes app to attempt to download my song I purchased.  I went to purchased > songs > all, and then it opened an almost empty screen.  It remained open for 30-60s, and then the app crashed.  I cannot use iTunes on a computer.  Can someone help, please?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and sign out and sign back in.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

You will have to import the video into your iTunes library and convert it to an AppleTV version. You can find this option in the Advanced menu in iTunes ->create iPad or AppleTV version

  • How do I view cookies on Safari on Ipod Touch?

My son has deleted his history on his Ipod touch.
Not sure if he has deleted the cookies -- I don't think he has...
    How do I view these?
    Thanks

I don't believe there is a way to view them on an iPod Touch. Sorry.

  • IPod Touch Newbie: What is the purpose of the iTunes app on my iPod Touch?

What is the purpose of the iTunes app on my iPod Touch?
All it does is connect to the iTunes store if I'm near a WiFi connection. It appears to be useful only for impulse purchasing of media. So why is it not named "iTunes Store"? It appears to have no other function.
Also, to listen to my iTunes music on iPod Touch I have to click on the Music button...not the iTunes app. What logic is that?
Also, iTunes has synced a movie for me, but I have no clue how to view it on the iPod Touch. It doesn't appear in iTunes on the iPod Touch, and there is no "Movie" button anywhere. What am I missing? I can't find it anywhere.

    For purchasing music, downloading podcasts,etc.

  • IPod touch blacks

hi i need some help because i compared my friends iphone to my touch.
    and
his iphone is like dark dark black on the screen and my touch is lighter.
i wanted to know if this is how the touch is?
    anybody having this problem.

haha if uve read my posts, this is perfectly normal
theres nothing u can do on it. The screens on the ipod touch and the iphone are solded differently (ive taken notice on those sites that take ipods apart), so it creates a completely different viewing experience. The ipod touch's screen is completely washed out with backlight while the iphone evenly spreads out its backlight. I have concluded that i should just live with that fact, and i think you should too.

  • Photos on iPod touch in random order

I have my photos all in order on IPhoto on my MacBook Pro, but when I view them on my IPod Touch, the events folder is in a very random order. How do I view my events photos on my IPod Touch in the same order as on my MacBook Pro, i.e. alphabetical / number order?

They are sorted on the iPod by the modification date of the photos. To sort them the whay you want you can change the modification dates on the Mac and then sync or:

  • WRT54GS to ipod touch 8GB 3rd gen

    Hello all.
Right im a bit baffled and wondered if anyone could help with this.
I am running windows xp, virgin media 20mb broadband and a Linksys wrt54gs wireless router.
After fluffing about, i restored the router to factory settings. I then re-enabled security on the router. Now the problem is the following. The ipod touch appears connected due to the tick by the wifi's name and the signal appears to be good BUT i cannot view anything ont the ipod touch. I wondered if anyone would be able to help me with this as it is for a birthday present and i want to make sure that this is all working.
    Many thanks.
P.s please be as simple as possible - im a noob!

    Thanks for the help.
I do not have anything else that is wireless in the house so i cannot try and use any other pieces of equipment.
When i put the password in, then the connection appears on the ipod touch and displays a tick next to it. I have tried to insert different passwords as well. When i do this, the ipod will say connection failed. So i know that the 1st option that im doing is good (i think).
After the ipod establishes a connection, i then try and usethe safari browser on the ipod. It looks like it will connect then says something about an invalid argument.
Will i have to change the ip of the ipod touch?
Do you know what else i can try?
If so all help would be gladly appreiciated, many thanks.

  • How to view the photos downloaded from gmail in ipod touch later and how to transfer themto system??

i have downloaded the image from my gmail account in ipod touch but unable to transfer it to the system and view it again on the ipod touch plz help me the procedure to be followed to perform these two actions

    From the Users Guide;
    Viewing attachments
iPod touch displays image attachments in many commonly used formats (JPEG, GIF, and TIFF) inline with the text in email messages. iPod touch can play many types of audio attachments, such as MP3, AAC, WAV, and AIFF. You can download and view files (such as PDF, webpage, text, Pages, Keynote, Numbers, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents) that are attached to messages you receive.
View an attached file: Tap the attachment to open it in Quick Look. You may need to wait while it downloads before viewing.
    Open an attached file
Touch and hold the attachment, then choose an app to open it. If neither Quick Look nor your apps support the file, you can see the name of the file but you can’t open it.
Save an attached photo or video
Touch and hold the photo or video, then tap Save Image or Video. The item is saved to your Camera Roll album in the Photos app.

  • List view in iCal on my iPod touch is corrupted

The 'list view' seems to be all wonky in Calendar on my iPod touch.
The dates for a given day that's displayed don't make sense:
i.e. Sunday Oct. 27 2030 followed by Saturday July 14 2001 followed by Tuesday Jan. 16 2001 are listed in consecutive order instead of today, tomorrow and next day (with correct dates).
Also, the 'events' given for each day listed don't make sense and are often duplicated.
The 'day' and 'month' views however, seem to be ok and not corrupted. The 'list' field in the month view also seems fine ?
Has anybody experienced this ? Very frustrating, since I like the list view.
I make most of my entries/changes to iCal on our main desktop (iMac 24") then sync. to my iPod. The list view seems ok on the desktop.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
ps. not sure if the problem corresponded with an upgrade of the Ipod software to OS 3.1 from 2.x....

  • Being charged to view a website on my Ipod Touch

I browsing the Internet using my Ipod Touch at my house earlier (we have a router connected to our home computer), and clicked a link and was accidentally directed to a (vulgar) website. I noticed that at the top of the website, where the site name is usually displayed, it said something about "Use Mobile Version of this site $1". I had never seen that before.
Going on the website was a mistake... I didn't mean to land there, and I was on the site for no more than a couple of seconds... Will I be charged a dollar? Do you know of any websites that actually charge to use their mobile versions?
If I am charged $1, will the dollar be added onto my internet bill that I receive? Or would it show up on the credit card bill that I get with my Itunes charges on it?
Normally, I wouldn't be worried about a thing like this, I mean, it's only a dollar... But, I live with my parents, and I don't want them getting a dollar fee on their internet bill because of something pornographic.

If you didn't give them any sort of billing information, it's highly unlikely that they can charge you for using their site. They certainly can't charge you through the iTunes Store - that's totally impossible unless you were tricked into giving them your iTunes Store account information - and it's unlikely that they could bill you through your Internet provider. Most likely it was just a "landing page" for the site that requires someone to provide a credit card to view more of their content beyond that first page.
I can't be 100% certain, but I don't think you have anything to worry about as long as you didn't give them any personal information.
    Regards.
