Viewing BBC clips on the BB Curve 8520

Hi all I am new to this I have tried to download and view BBC clips to my curve 8520 but all I get back is a script of links! All help gratefully received.

I do know there's an app for YouTube although I dont yet have it. Hardly likely to catch up on East Enders though.
I think the problem is that suppliers don't know what can and can't be done with any device and of course as consumers we either assume a device will do something or don't ask. Of course if we are told you can do something that turns out to be wrong, thats a different issue. Trading Standards etc.
Assuming you are stuck with your device then try and put your disappointment aside and enjoy the features that it does have.
I was disappointed to find out it doesn't have satnav but then I thought "i didn't get it for satnav and my Garmin would be loads better anyway".
Mine was a free upgrade from a Sony which should have been crushed at birth. Its my 1st smart phone. The features I like best are the wifi connection meaning most of the time its not costing me and being able to link my multiple email accounts to it. The fact I get maybe 30 emails each day with video links I can't access is only a slight inconvenience.

Yes, Force quit is the only option. No background tasks running, nothing on FCPX works, save I can move the beach ball around.
All the other menu options work fine. In fact, FCPX works in the library except when I select view all clips in the browser.
I am running Version 10.1.3 . It is only this library that has the problem. I am a new user so I only have three or four libraries so far. Most on the same local external drive.
The only difference I have been able to determine is the library in question has files on my boot drive as well as the local external. Could that be the issue?

Hello, I'm interested in getting the Curve 8520, and I was looking for some opinions and some questions to be answered on the device... As I understand the device already is an EDGE enabled, and (being my very first smartphone) I was wondering if I have to pay(or have my account credited) when using EDGE to check my emails or basic web surfing, and also, with EDGE I can access my emails anywhere? also, personal opinions would be nice

Can't get my calendar to Sync. Just got the Curve 8520 last night and it actually seems to have a lot LESS flexibility and options than the 8350. Still getting used to it, but wondering if I made a mistake?
How do I sync my calendar on this new phone?

Setting up email on the blackberry curve 8520.

Hi, I am trying to help my friend set up her email on her new phone. The settings is not giving her an option to choose which email to use. It is only giving out the Blackberry network and she wants to use her own. Do you have to have a data package in order to use personal email?

Hi, yes you need a Blackberry Data Plan to use push email on the blackberry - get her to give her carrier a call and see what options they offer.

Does the BB Curve 8520 download emails automatically?
Does it make a sound (Low or High) when an email is received? (If downloaded automatically)
I've just switched my tariff with O2 to a Blackberry Text & Web package so I'm hoping that is all I need...

How to view two clips with 50 % transparency each at the same time?

How to view two clips at the same time with 50 % transparent each (end of one clip and the starting of the next clip in time line) so that one overlapping the other, both can be seen. This is to merge two clips, so that I can stop at the correct frame of the first clip and start at the appropriate frame of the next clip.

I have curve 8520. in contacts i have a line headed 'find'. but i want to put in a number and see if the owner is in my contacts. can i do this?

BB Curve 8520 sync w/ Lotus Notes 6.5

I am helping out a co-worker.
He is using the BB Curve 8520 and would like to be able to sync his calendar. We don't have the BB Enterprise server (yet). We use Lotus Notes 6.5 as our email client.
When we connect the phone via the USB, go into DM it sees the phone. I can sync the contacts w/out issue. However, anytime I try to sync the calendar it shuts down DM and gives the general "Blackberry Desktop Software has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." But all the times I try, there is never a solution.
When speaking with this user, he mentioned that there were a couple of others that were experiencing the same thing.
When the DM was orig installed on the computer it would sync for approx 1 week, but then stopped working. If DM is uninstalled, and reinstalled, it will work for approx 1 week again. This is not a suitable option to uninstall & reinstall every week.
The users have various versions of MS Windows (XP Pro upto 7 Pro), and all have the latest version of DM from the BB site.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Error out of memory message when trying to view a clip

Hi, when I'm trying to view a clip in the viewer for any of my projects, it comes up with an error message saying "out of memory" Now, it's like this whenever I'm trying to view any clips from any of my projects after I double click on the clip or sequence. Then, after the error message comes up and I hit ok the viewer goes down. I just recently bought an external hard drive, and put my final cut in my new HD. I have more than enough space. And this was the main reason I decided to by a new HD, because my actual system on my mac does not have enough space. Please help as this issue is really bothering me. Thanks.

The applications themselves (fcp, motion, soundtrack pro, dvdsp color) want to reside on your system drive. You can however putt all the auxilliary stuff on the other drive: livetype templates, soundtrack pro stuff)

Help required with upgrading to OS5 on curve 8520

Hello everyone,
I'm using an unlocked version of the bb curve 8520 and want to upgrade my bb device os to v5.0. (current version- 4.6.1)
I tried using the application loader on the bb website (NA & India both) but it just tells me that my OS is updated and that i will be notified if there are any updates available. I would be really grateful if someone could help me update my os.

Your warranty is not endangered. You are free to use any carriers OS package on your BB. Your carrier may, however, refuse to provide you with support (including Warranty evaluation/service) until you fall back to their supported device OS level. But your warranty per se is not endangered.

Viewing DV clip timecode on PC?

We are ingesting DV footage in FCP using standard DV25 codec and placing the footage on a shared storage area. Our field producers are on PCs and want the ability to view these clips across the network, however they need the ability to view the embedded timecode of the clips.
I was able to find a way to view the actual timecode by using Quicktime 6 Pro on a PC by going into the "Movie Properties" window and going to the timecode section. It displayed the timecode in that window as the clip was being played. However, in Quciktime 7 Pro the timecode section in the "Movie Properties" window does not display the embedded timecode anywhere that I can see.
So, is there a way to view embedded timecode on a PC from clips captured using FCP? I guess I could downgrade all the PC users to Quicktime 6, but that's not my first choice. Any ideas?

Hmm... Yeah, that would work however that would mean I'd have to tie up a suite to re-encode all those clips by exporting proxies with that time code burned in. I don't think that's going to happen as the suites are busy pretty much all the time.
I wouldn't mind using some other kind of transcoding application that can make the proxies automatically as long as the TC is burned in. I know that Telestream's Flip Factory can do this, but it just seems crazy to have to go to that length when the timecode is already in the original DV clip- I just need to view it.

Help viewing video clips in iphoto 08.

I recently downloaded both photos and video clips taken from my iphone 5 and downloaded to my mac OSX 10.6.8 computer (as I have many times before.) I quickly discovered that I can no longer view video clips in the iphoto 08 program as I have always been able to do. Why? Typically, I would double click on video clip and it would play in iphoto.

I can commiserate about the bad disk drive, because I went through that.
The latest version of iMovie is 9.01 (also known as iMovie 11).
About your movies in iPhoto...did iMovie see them before? Were you on iMovie 11 before?
Will they play in iPhoto? If they will play in iPhoto, chances are you can import them into iMovie. Note where they are in iPhoto by using right-click (or control-click)/Reveal in Finder.
In iMovie, use FILE/IMPORT FROM.../ to find that file and import it.
If your laptop is less than three months old, it may have come with iMovie 11. If it is older, it probably had iMovie 09. iMovie 11 came out in late October.
If you were on iMovie 11 before, then reinstalling iMovie should make iPhoto movies visible again, assuming they were not corrupted in some way. When you convert to iMovie 11 it upgrades the thumbnail files (but not the video clips) in such a way that is not backward compatible.

Final Cut Pro 10.1.2 - Continuous Viewing of Clips

I am attempting to make the switch from iMovie to Final Cut 10.1.2 and all is going well except for viewing of events. I make highlight dvd's of my sons sports seasons. In iMovie I am able to continually view all clips in the event. It automatically continues from clip to clip. This saves a great deal of time when viewing baseball/basketball/football games with few highlights. I am unable to find a way to do this in Final Cut. One clip runs and then I must move onto the next clip manually. This takes a great deal of extra time. I have watched hours of tutorials and searched for a solution but none has been found. Any help would be appreciated.

One of the major differences btw. iMovie and FCPX is 'excessive usage' of keyboard-shortcuts
FCPX has so many features, you'd waste time with maneuvering the mouse thru all menu options...

Blackberry Curve 8520 OS 4 Remove Speed Dialing Code

Hi i have an older Blackberry 8520 OS 4 which i am trying to remove the "1" dialing code
Instructions for newer OS say to change the "Country Code" in "Smart Dialing" to a chosen country or "unknown"
This is in the newer OS and Bold 9900
In OS 4 I can find no such setting
Can someone please help me find it
