VIewing blog in IE 7

I have created a blog in IWeb- and it looks great on all my macs, however when I try and view it on a PC none of the links work. I have looked on the internet and it seems that this is a known issue- but it seems that creating web sites for just macs is rather silly

Yes, this is a know issue with IE and iWeb sites. I don't know if the tips on Roddy's iWeb for Musicians site will help: How to get your iWeb Site to load in Internet Explorer.
Otherwise you have two options: 1 - put a link and message on your blog site indicating that Firefox for Windows or Safari for Windows will work best with you blog; or 2 - create your blog in one of the online sites and embed it into an iWeb page like in this demo page: Embed a Site Within an iWeb Page.
Option 2 will give you a more powerful blog and let you maintain it online from any computer, Mac or PC and even smart phones and iPads.

We updated the site and moved all of the files over, however, when you click on the blog page from the website and then click on read more to actually read the entry, you get redirected to a "page not found" screen. Template breaks when viewing Blog Post Details Layout

I've made a new ECommerce site with my own template (HTML en CSS). On the Blog Post List is my new template. But when I click on the title or permalink, Then my template breaks and all I see is the text from my template and the blog post detail. What can I do?

Yes, just as I suspected. A lot of your CSS, JS and IMAGE assets are referenced incorrectly in your page template or page.
Right now, in your page template you are referecing IMG elements with a "relative URL":
<img src="images/myimage.jpg"/>
That will work fine on the homepage and first-level pages like "/" and "/blog" because the browser will attempt to load:
http://yoursite.com/images.myimage.jpg
But, if like on your blog detail pages which are located deeper in the websites folder structure "/blog/nog-maar-eentje" since this URL places you on the "nag-maareetje" page inside the "blog" folder, your relative URL will lead the browser to try and load
http://yoursite.com/blog/myimage.jpg
That is not the correct location for our images folder which is directory in the site's root folder. To avoid this issue, you need to update your references to all images that's SRC attribute start with "images/" and change it to a "site relative URL" simply by prepending a "/" at the beginnging of the SRC attribute:
<img src="/images/myimage.jpg"/>
You'lll need to replicate this process for your CSS and Javascript references too. CSS references will look like:
<link href="css/style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
Becomes:
<link href="/css/style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
And javascript:
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/lib.js"></script>
Becomes
<script type="text/javascript" src="/js/lib.js"></script>
Anywhere that a reference to a javascript, stylesheet or image starts without a slash, "/" and just begins with the folder or asset ("images/...", "myimage.jpg") are relative URLs. You'll also see URLs that are absolute and those are URLs in your code that start with "http://yoursite.com" or "http://yoursite.businesscatalyst.com". Those you don't have to worry about since they are absolute and won't get mucked up when you are trying to load those from page within your site.
After you edit your page templates you might need to fix the same problem in your pages that are in a subfolder of your site.

IWeb Blog Entries - search, keywords, and categories?

Hi all
I've been looking around these forums and elsewhere for help on this, but not having much luck...
I'm wanting to put a search box on to my iWeb site. I am not a MobileMe customer and therefore realise the default search field in iWeb will not work. Does anyone know of one/a way that will allow me to:
- Search blog entries
- Add keywords to blog entries created in iWeb
- View blog entries that have been assigned to a particular category (e.g. A 'holidays' topic would show all the entries with the holiday keyword, the 'work' topic would show all entries with work...etc.)
All of this would need to be integrated in to my site, and ideally not be done on a 3rd-party site.
Any help would really be appreciated. Like I said, I am not a MobileMe user and would be publishing the site on my own webspace.

Blog ACLs

Has anyone had any luck creating ACLs for individual blogs?
With Tiger OSX Server I was able to specify which groups in OD had access of viewing blogs per groups via the web interface. After we upgraded to Leopard I noticed that this feature was no longer available in the web interface. I read through the Apple Web Services docs smf found how to configure SACLs to restrict blog creation, but anyone can still view them. I attempted to use realms to lock down /users/username, but that worked only for users and not groups.
If anyone has any experience on creating an ACL per blog for groups I would appreciate the help, thank you.

I think what can be done is to pritect the home page of the users blog the same way the setting page is protected.
Example:
This page is public :
https://servername_/users/_username/
This page can be seen by the owner and administrators only:
https://servername_/users/_username/settings/
Is this behavior belongs to the templates that we can modify

is it something in the python/javascript code that if we do any change, it can be wiped out by the next system update?
The ACLs integration is already there. It can’t be that difficult to enable it for the user blog.
I would be happy to have a kind of patch even if I have to be extra careful on the next system updates.

THis is the error message on ALL blogs I write on or view. My FireFox cannot find my google friends. the message says GOOGLE and then the words above, OOPS. Firefox could not find........
HELP I have NO idea what to do. This is from how MY COMPUTER view blogs through Firefox for the past three weeks.

A few other thoughts:
(1) If you access Google in IE and click the padlock icon in the address bar to view the certificate, what do you find in the "Issued by" section as the issue? I have attached the info from Firefox for comparison; I don't have a modern version of IE on this PC.
(2) Do recall changing any encryption-related settings, either through the Options dialog or using the about:config preferences editor?
You could check for non-default settings as follows:
(A) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(B) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''ssl''' and pause while the list is filtered
If any of the preferences whose names start with network. or security. have been customized, they likely will be bolded and show "user set". Could you post those by right-click copying the preferences and then right-click pasting into a reply?

Blog Site Archives not showing all posts

We have SharePoint 2013 Enterprise on premise.
We have a blog site we use company wide that has an average of five new posts a week.
When you use the built-in "Archives" view to look at blog posts by month, it will show you the first ten, but when you use the navigation button to see the next ten it displays "There are no posts in this month."
This is not an issue when navigating the Blog site normally, or even when viewing blog posts based on Category. It only seems to effect the monthly archive views.
I suspect it might have something to do with the URL being created incorrectly.
For example, if I'm on the main blog site and click "November" under "Archives", the URL will be this:
http://intranet.domain.com/news/Lists/Posts/Date.aspx?StartDateTime=2013%2D11%2D01T05%3A00%3A00Z&EndDateTime=2013%2D12%2D01T06%3A00%3A00Z&LMY=November%2C%202013
when I click the button to see the next ten the URL is this:

The Archive is a list view. You can create a new one.
Here's how to create a new view that should function similar to the out of the box Archive view:
On the ribbon, click the list tab then Create View.
Choose the Standard View type.
Name it something like Archive - new
Scroll to the bottom and click OK.
If this new view does the job, you can delete the old view and rename the new one Archive.

I don't believe that the Blog Site uses standard views for Archives and Category views.
I see no way to edit the current "Archives" view and the URL's don't really mesh with a normal list view URL.
If I access the actual list of posts by clicking "Manage Posts" under Blog Tools I can add/edit/remove views, but that's not what I'm looking for. I've included a picture of the view I'm talking about:

Popularity Trends is disabled on Blog site page in SharePoint 2013?

Hi, I have created 2 sub sites under a site collection: for one used Team Site template and for another one used Blog template.
In blog sub site home page Popularity Trends is disabled while Team sub site home page Popularity Trends is enabled.
Is page Popularity Trends disabled on Blog template in SharePoint 2013?

I cannot say this for sure but I created a Blog site on my SP2013 instance and I can confirm the popularity trend is disabled. So this might be the case for Blog site template.
As a workaround what I did was
1) Activated the publishing feature on the blog site
2) Under Pages library created a new welcome page using Blank Web Part Page
3) Now add all the web parts (apps) on this page i.e. Posts with Summary view, Blog tools, category, archive etc. Just so you know About this Blog is Content Editor Web Part.
4) Save the page and this page should now have the the popularity trends.
I do not know if there is any way to enable the popularity trends link for out of the box box site but if there is none then you can use the above workaround.

Web Server 7 Reverse Proxy URI Config

I am testing WS 7.2 to replace WS 6.1 and need input on the configuration of the reverse proxy setup. We currently are using the reverse proxy plugin on our 6.1 servers but I cannot get the same configuration to work on 7.2. I have followed the admin document but I don't want to use / as my URI. I need to only proxy requests for URLs that end in *cfm. Can I configure the new server to work like the 6.1 version?

You can set attributes such as network device groups to determine if the wired, wireless, or vpn policies need to be in effect (which I am sure you are aware of).

My Images and styles are missing on some pages

Important Notes:
The BC System has a great and simple way to know to read correct file locations for things like your CSS styles, Javascript files and your images.
The BC system has a number of elements that create folder like structures such as web app detail view, blogs, forums and eCommerce, if you do not follow the below your BC site will not be able to find the CSS, Javascript and image files because it will be looking for them in the current folder.
With the two points above in mind the solution to this is really very easy. For every type of file you see in the below examples, all you need to do in your Templates is start these with a forward slash ( / ) , it is that easy!

Hi Teejay. If you make pages with no template then the render basic HTML structure Southey work as web pages. Of course this will not have any style shed links in that code.
What are you referring to in terms of beta testing pages with no template? If you have the correct links and HTML any .html file will render correctly on the web.
Are you referring to system generated content?

Data Recovery and Garageband Projects

Has anyone had to recover data from a faulty hard-drive that was erased? Have any of your files been garageband projects? Were you able to recover them? What program do you recommend?
I have used Data Rescue II but everything comes out totally unarchived and I am unable to locate my very important garageband project files.
Kind of off topic, but I could use some help.

Depending on what AV or backup or whatever you use then you have to develop the content to use that.
Example:
If you need to enable "Don's Backup Service" it might be as simple as a CLI command at a command prompt like
C:\>dbs_install.exe -silent
Or maybe it's a web service call to some deployment application, or maybe (like Derek says) it's some configuration management system.
The way you determine to deploy something is totally up to you and your IT and application infrastructure. It's hard to provide you examples when there is no knowledge of what you have running. You have to write the content and test it out.
I find(when writing my content) the best way to do it is to write down the steps you would do manually and then make that in CPO in a process or a few processes. If you want to see some examples and ideas about custom content authoring I do a monthly blog on custom content development @

I have a ASR 9006 router and have double RSP module. I have problem with static routing. Static routing doesn't working today. I saw the this log.
%ROUTING-FIB-4-RSRC_LOW : CEF running low on DATA_TYPE_TABLE_SET resource memory. CEF will now begin resource constrained forwarding. Only route deletes will be handled in this state, which may result in mismatch between RIB/CEF. Traffic loss on certain prefixes can be expected. CEF will automatically resume normal operation, once the resource utilization returns to normal level.
My device have double rsp active standby mode. I'm using version asr9k-ce-4.1.2 ( I have asr9k-ce-4.2.0 but inactive ) I have a full routing table seven BGP connection.
Static routing doesn't working. What can do it?

I'm after any advice that might help my silly situation.
I have accidentally deleted an event which is linked to a project that I spent HOURS working on. Now my project has a little yellow exclamation mark in the corner of all the clips. Is there any way of salvaging this? I have emptied my trash too. Any advice would be fantastic... THANK YOU!
