Viewing completed forms on iPad

I have several people who I work with that are having issues with viewing a form they have filled out on an iPad.  When they open it on a Mac or PC, they can view what they have filled out.  But, when they open it either from the Dropbox App or Adobe Reader, the textboxes are empty.  Has anyone else had this problem or can offer any advice?

Since iOS and android devices does not support JavaScript, which is used for all computations in PDF forms, there are problems right out of the box. I have no problem with Adobe Mobile Reader or EZ Pdf entering data into forms but getting calculations and other scripts is problematic because even if the app does some JavaScript there are a number of JS features not implemented.

If the PDF is a form fillable PDF, which I assume that it is, email it to yourself or send it to DropBox and open it on your computer. You should see the fields filled in there. It works for me if I do it that way.
Adobe Reader supports it, but the other apps don't. I assume that if you email the PDF to a computer user it would be readable in Adode Reader.

  • How can I view a completed form as the person filling it out sees it

How can I view a completed form as the person filling it out sees it. The text that is a part of the form does not print when the record(from) is printed.

We now support saving a response from the View Responses tab to PDF (that retains the form design shown on the Design tab). The PDF can be shared, archived or printed using Adobe Reader.
You can read more about it here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1085672
Please try it out and give us your feedback.

There is no software Rotate View in Reader on an iPad. However, you can use the iPad lock, available on the quick control panel (slide from the bottom of the Home screen to view).

  • HT201317 When I view photos on my devices some are not oriented correctly. I used Picassa to turn all photos upright and then copied those photos into the upload file but they are still not corrected when viewed on my devices (ipads)

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
    1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
    2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
    1. Right click images you want to share.
    2. Select Export version.
    3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
    4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.
    See how you go.

  • Adobe LiveCycle Dynamic XML forms & Apple iPad

Are Adobe LiveCycle Dynamic XML forms viewable/useable by Apple iPad and Apple phone or other mobile devices?

According to Adobe, you can with LiveCycle ES4. At least, that's how I read their blog post on ES4 Mobile forms support.
Of course, there have been several discussions started about this in the Adobe forums.

  • Save completed form as PDF

Is it possible to save a completed form as a PDF? Our school is considering using FormsCentral to allow faculty to complete online student Surveys (essentially evaluations of a student's progress). We need to attach the completed survey to the student record in our Student Management System (as a PDF or similar file).
    Thansk for your input... Ken

Yes, but it's in a "detail view" format, not the actual form layout. Check out this FAQ on how to do it: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1383

  • Users saving half completed forms

I have set up my enquiry form which our users complete and submit to me via a butoon (XML).  they are mainly using adobe reader to view the form.  If they are half way through the form and they wish to save it and continue filling it in later they cannot do this.  They can only submit it to me half completed as XML.
Is there a way they can save the form and come back to it later and continue filling it in?
    Many thanks

    Thanks Paul.
Could you just clarify the bit about 500 users.  If each user is saving the form and using it over and over (submitting it everytime they have a new enquiry) does this count as one user, or is it everytime they submit the form?
i.e. can 500 people use this form (with the save option) over and over again, or is it just the first 500 times the form can submited when it can be saved?
    Many thanks

  • Cannot view PDF forms (with Signature) in Workspace Error : "SigDict/Contents illegal data"

    Hello,
With Jasmin's help, I am able to import a PDF form which is digitally signed >> view it in Workspace >> click Approve/Decline for archiving. Thanks Jasmin !
When I view the form in workspace, I get a "Atleast one signature is invalid" prompt on the top left corner of the window. Upon clicking the "Signature Panel", it says "The Signature is invalid" with a description of "SigDict/Contents illegal data"
Once the process is complete, I am unable to open the same form. I get an error message in Adobe Reader (within workspace).
"Adobe Reader could not open '_7358722841708390983-102[1]' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged ( for example, it was sent as an email attachments and wasn't correctly decoded)"
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Aditya

    For everyone's reference.
I figured out the "Signature is Invalid" message.
This was my fault as I used a Form Augmenter (insert form bridge) to a signed form which broke the PDF.
After removing that module, I no longer got that message. However, once I approve the form I could no loner view it and I would still get an error.

    Anyone know why ?

  • Fillable form on iPad doesn't print from Adobe Reader. Is there a fix yet?

I can fill in a fillable form but when I print it the filled-in text doesn't print. I just get a blank form. I'm using the latest Reader version on an iPad 2.  there a solution available yet?

It should work with the update to Reader 10.4. "Enhaned compatibility with AirPrint means improved printing of completed forms as well as documents with comments."
I don't have AirPrint on my printer to test. Is your printer AirPrint compatible?
I can get it to work with Printer Pro which I'm running on my iPad.

  • I need access to the raw completed form as submitted out by our employees on a work task.

I need access to the raw completed form as submitted out by our employees on a work task.

What you have access to in FormsCentral is the row in the Response Table on the View Responses tab of the form in FormsCentral.  From there you can (assuming the form is owned by a Paid level account) "Download Response as PDF Form" from the row menu, or from the File menu with the row selected.  The PDF looks like the original form filled out.

  • Acrobat Forms for iPad end user

I am creating a multipage selection document for a client. My client would like the form to work with Acrobat Reader on the iPad. I have several features that work on my computer but not on the iPad. I have a few buttons set up to perform actions that don't function.
         1. The submit button doesn't appear at the top of the form (neither does the highlight fields button). I placed a secondary Submit Form button. The function of this is to submit completed form back to my client.
         2. How do I make the text flelds show up once typed in? Right now, you can type in them but once you are finished, the text field seems empty when you click off of it?
Anyone have any ideas on fixing these issues?
    Thanks for your help!

The Adobe product is Mobile Reader and the Adobe product and all PDF reading processing apps are dependent upon the capabilities of the mobile device. Since the Apple mobile devices and the android mobile devices have limitations as to main and secondary storage space support applications like JavaScript and Flex/Flash might not or as is the fact is not available. Not only is the UI different but also the support for many interactive features are no longer available and developers need to test forms on each platform and app to see what works and does not work. Did I mention that not all apps provide JavaScript emulation? Well there are apps for which form calculations do not work or only partially work. So again you need to test.
