Viewing / Controlling iPad From Windows 7?

I found a lot of applications in the App Store that allow you to connect to your Windows 7 PC from the iPad. What I would like to know is.... is there an app that would allow me to view and control my iPad from my Windows 7 PC?
I am imagining what such a program would be like. A window (on my PC) would open displaying my iPad. I could then use my mouse to do things such as move icons, launch and use apps, etc. Basically everything you can do if you were sitting at your iPad.
Thanks!

Yes but iTunes only allows you to sync content from iTunes (on the PC) to the iPad. I was not aware that iTunes allows your to control remotely your iPad.
FYI the reason why I am doing this is I have a demo I am going to do next month. The demo involves having 5 iPads running on my network. It would be very nice if I had a central location (my PC) to remote to each of the iPads and control them (launch apps, etc.). Otherwise I will have to walk over to each iPad to manage them.

  • Control Ipad from PC running Windows 7

    Hi,
Is it possible to control the ipad from windows 7.
    Use Case:
I have the ipad hooked to my home theater system. I have a PC running Windows 7 and would like to control the ipad using my laptop. I usually have music playing from the ipad while working on my laptop.
Specifically, I would like to change songs without having to physically go to the ipad.
    Any solutions ?
    Thanks,
    Rohan

No app to do what you want but you could hook up the PC to the stereo and control the PC with the iPad.

  • Control ipad from pc

    Hi @all,
is there a way to control ipads from a pc? We plan to give our salesmans some ipads with 3G.
In case of that, it would be nice to help them remotely if they have any problems with
them. Teamviewer and co.... didn't support this way of remote control. Any ideas?

  • Control key from Windows keyboard

    Hello
I use VNC to remote control my mac mini (OS X 10.4.10) from my Windows laptop. However I cannot figure out how to emulate the Mac Control key from my Windows keyboard.
This is needed because I have multiple iTunes libraries on the mini, and on the Mac keyboard, you can ctrl-click the iTunes icon in the dock to select which library to open. When I'm on VNC controlling the Mac, the ctrl key on the Windows keyboard apparently does not equal the Mac ctrl key.
Alt on the Windows keyboard maps to the Command (Apple) key on the Mac keyboard, but Control doesn't seem to correspond.
    Thanks

It seems I made a mistake on which key I need to selectively open a particular library when launching iTunes. It is the "Option" key on Mac, but I still can't find the proper key combination to do this when I VNC into the mac from Windows.
    Thanks

  • Restore iPad from Windows 7 file location

Is there a way to restore previous backup from Windows 7 sync folder to the iPad?
    Thanks

    Hello sabfa,
You may be able to restore from your previous backup by verifying that the file is in the correct location (\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\), then choosing to restore from the desired backup in iTunes.

  • Viewing OSX partition from Windows

    G'day all
Ok this may be a fairly obvious question but is Windows able (via any means) to view the data stored on my mac partition? When I load windows, I've got both partitions available however when I load windows I can't see the mac side of things. I presume this is due to the native HDD format that OSX uses but still, I want to be able to access files saved in OSX from Windows. Sure I can load OSX and transfer the files to the windows partition but that involves logging out, logging in, loggin out, logging in.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,

The file system you refer to is hfs. Sadly you will need an app in the windows side to be able to use it.
This app http://www.mediafour.com/products/macdrive/ worked for me, i don't know how it will go in a bootcamp partition, but it should work fine.

Issue solved by inserting an inline frame

    Hi There
Admittedly, I've never really used the ability to actually view the URL from the RoboHelp Explorer pod. So if you say it worked in earlier versions and it has now stopped, I'd heartily advise you to report it to Adobe via the bug report. Click the link below to open the page to file the report.
    http://www.adobe.com/go/wish
From what I'm seeing, your best bet at this point is to right-click the link and choose "Show Topic Links". Then from the Link View window, open the topic with the link and choose to preview and test the link from there.

  • Boot Camp And Viewing\Editing Files From Windows

I just ordered Leopard and I'm going to putting it on my 20 Imac next weekend. My plans are to install Windows Vista home premium through boot camp. Is there a way to access files from Windows on Leopard and vice-versa? I have MS Office for Mac and Windows and I do photo editing and it would be nice to access and edit files as needed whatever OS I'm without having to reboot. Some kind of third party software available for this? Parallels is OUT OF THE QUESTION for me. I tried it a few months ago and it was nothing but a nightmare. Left me with a really bad taste for it.
    Thanks.

    Thanks Kappy,
I did a quick look at MacDrive and looks like what I was wanting. Will download the trial after my transition. Another question: When I install and setup Boot Camp will there be an option to format the partition in NTFS or does it do it by default?
Thanks again for the tip on MacDrive. I've only had this Mac for about 6 months and just learning what is probably old news to you.

  • I can not change the view of Ipad from vertical to horizontal

Since 2 days I can not move the view of the screen of my Ipad 2 from vertical to horizontal?
    rs

On the top of your screen do you see a little padlock with a circle around it? If so, that's the rotation lock. There is a little switch by the volume controls that serves as either the rotation lock of an all mute. If you see the padlock, try flipping that switch to see if it allows your device to rotate.
Is it not rotating in everything or just in a few apps? Because there are some apps out there that will not rotate, they are portrait or landscape but will not do both.
If the switch doesn't help you can go into the settings, general and see if the side switch is set to all mute or rotation lock.
If none of that works, try giving your device a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. Once you see the silver apple let the buttons go and let it reboot. See if that helps
If not, try going into the settings and 'reset all settings'. You will need to retweak your device but it may clear things up.

  • Report Viewer control issue in Windows Server 2012 R2

    Hi,
I have a reporting application (web) and it is using the Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms.dll (version 11.0.3366). While deploying I have kept all the Reporting Viewer related dll's into the bin directory and things are working fine in the below combinations.
    1) Windows Server 2008 R2 , SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2
    2) Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012
Today I have installed the same setup into the Windows Server 2012 R2 (with SqlServer 2012) machine and I am facing the some issue. The Print icon and find/next options are not visible in the Report Viewer . I am not sure what was the cause for this.
Then  I have installed the Report Viewer 2012 runtime on the Windows Server 2012 R2 machine and things are working fine. So , I am wondering how the same setup worked fine in other two combinations with out installing Report Viewer 2012 runtime.
Did any one have idea/suggestion on this.
    Thanks in advance!
    Best Regards
    Muthuraja

Have you verified that the runtime assemblies are not on those servers? Maybe someone else added them. There are numerous other possibilities such as code refactoring that moved these elements from to other assemblies (unlikely) or that there was some other
difference in your installation that you overlooked. I am glad that you were quickly able to resolve your issue however and may help others if they experience the same problem.

  • Sync to update information on Ipad from Windows?

Is it possible to use a program in windows and then sync to update the information on Ipad......or can I open an app in iTunes or in Windows and edit, then sync with the Ipad and vice versa????

The applications were sold with the itouch
You're not supposed to sell hardware with applications and music pre-installed (unless it came with them in the first place). It's not the sellers software to sell. You buy a license to use the app or listen to the music, not to re-sell it.
Why would the music stay but the apps disappear?
Maybe the music was imported from CDs. Even so, it's still illegal to sell an iPod touch pre-loaded with music.
All iPod touch purchases are tied to the original purchasers iTunes Store Account. Purchases are not transferrable between users.
You should just restore the iPod touch to its 'as new' factory settings and then buy any apps or music you want on it yourself.
The image below shows what is pre-installed on an iPod touch:

  • How do I create photo albums that transfer to my ipad from Windows 7?

Ok, so I love my ipad, but I hate trying to find a photo by sifting through the 5,000+ photos on my ipad that are in one album.  How do I create multiple albums on a W7 machine and have them transfer through iTunes to my ipad in the same order?  Is there an easy way to do it? I would also like to do it on my PC so once it is done, its done.  Thanks and Cheers!

Put your photos in separate folders on your PC (with the folders off the same parent folder) - you should then be able to sync those folders (together in one sync) and each should get their own album on the iPad. You have to sync all the folders together as only the contents of the most recent remains in the iPad - not including a folder in a subsequent sync is how you delete the folder/album from the iPad.

  • How do I animate graphics for ipad, a windows user who might jump ship

Please read this recent post that I put up on the Adobe Flash forums site; only got one reply which wasn't much use to me, maybe you guys can help.
No I'm not on here to moan about Mac not supporting Flash (and yes I know that in theory Apple have done a U turn and are prepared to support it, albeit through gritted teeth).  I have a problem though, I have been using Adobe since, well forever really, and am Windows based, plus I've always managed to keep both Mac and Windows users happy as I am largely video and After Effects based.  I've dabbled with Flash and Director and some HTML coding so I am not completely naive when it comes to interactive presentations.  This time I am a bit stumped though, I have an international client and they have decided as a company to invest in ipads for all their staff, so I am now being asked about interactive presentations including graphics and video content.  Well if any other client had asked this of me I would have brushed up on my Flash and probably developed a straight forward presentation (nothing too fancy is required, no back end data base stuff etc, just a few animated buttons, splash screens and video).  It is probably not agood idea coming onto an Adobe forum and asking what other program I can use for similar projects on the Mac, but that is my starting point.  I know about Keynote, which I perceive a bit like Powerpoint (Micky Mouse comes to mind, I'm asking for trouble saying that I guess), so what exactly is the programe that is used on Macs to do similar tasks as Flash, does it exist?  Before I decide to persist with Flash (and I guess that I am going to be nudged in that direction as I am on an Adobe forum) I'd like to know what is its rival on Mac.  I have done a bit of research and am looking at Xcode4, Cocoa and it all seems a bit confusing and I certainly don't want to learn, C, C++ or one of it's derivatives, plus ipads use IOS a rather pared down version of the full Mac OS.  If I were a Mac graphic designer and I wanted to design an interactive presentation for the ipad (or Mac for that matter) what professional program would I be using?  There you go a very simple question from a very long winded explanation of my problem.
Here is the reply I got form one of the other forum users:-
As far as I know, Jobs was putting all his eggs into HTML5, so you probably want to see how he and the rest of the team are coming along with that spec (estimates are between 3 to 10 years for a final spec release).  I believe you'll need to learn a number of other things (css, javascript, jQuery, ajax, etc) to make it all work together to mimic what it can of a Flash version.
As far as video goes... http://www.informationweek.com/news/hardware/desktop/225701855?subSect ion=News
(Yeah, you're less likely to get positive/useful feedback in a Flash forum... try a Mac forum, better yet, an iPad forum)
    Any help much appreciated

    Hi Mitchell,
I'll try to help you answering few questions. I'll be short now because dinner is almost ready.
My background and experience is web/print designer, but I have been researching and studying iPad since the original is out (I got iPad and iPad 2). I work in Windows environment, I actually embrace the iPad situation.
Ok, basically you want to have "interactive presentations including graphics and video content" for client?
The best answer for that at the moment is: HTML5, jQuery/JavaScript, and CSS. I am sure with those 3 can get something like this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wc3fghSJvBM
That's actually an app. Obviously native App has some advantages over WebApp. Take a look at how Google tackle the iPad with its webapp. Lots of great example. Google uses a lot of jQuery in a smart way.
Maybe soon Adobe products will adapt and utilize more HTML5 for iPad. Maybe Flash would eventually go to iPad, who knows.
I actually manage to live "without Flash" and be more efficient with presentation. Less bling and splashy interaction, but still manage to give a "new" experience. I would probably ask the client to wait a bit. Study the available interactive magazines (Wired, GQ, Victoria Secret etc) and websites that utilize only HTML5, jQuery, and CSS to get that "Flash" feel.
There are really awesome Flash websites over the last few years, before iPad came along. We have gone almost "too much" with what Flash can do in term of giving interactive and layers and layers of interactive eye candies UI. Maybe it's time to be more efficient. Save the pixels for what really more important.
Anyhow, try a simple hack: use and experiment Splashtop app or similar app that allow mirroring of PC/Mac into the iPad. This way, you could have Flash on your iPad, as long there is a connected PC/Mac via Wi-Fi.
Try also presentation viewer for iPad, from Prezi.
Remember one thing: It does not have to be the iPad. We know iPad is cool, but if other tables (Android tablets) can actually view Flash and the experience is fine, then go for it. My opinion: Flash is not yet for multi-touch experience.
Tablet revolution is still really young, so, it's time to experiment.
