Viewing currently playing zong

Yoyoyoyoyo wazzup.
Here am I playing some song in my Music librarhy, drinking grog and smoking cigars, so much that I'm almost getting cancer.
And here am I browsin' through my library. Now I have scrolled through it a bit, and I want to find ze location of the currently playing song. Iz there a quick way of quickly locating the currently playing zong?
I mean: I want a quicker way then scrolling through the whole sh1t and trying to locate visually the blue playing icon at the left side of the list.
Catch me? Is a faster approach there for uz?
RZA

There is a lightning fast way.
Just click on the bent arrow at the right in the display in above the iTunes window.
It will bring you instantly to the playing song.
The arrow looks a bit like this ↩
(I couldn't find the proper one in my character set)
Hope this helps.

  • How to skip the currently-playing tune in iTunes 11?

How do I skip the currently-playing tune in iTunes 11 if I don't want to hear the rest of it?  Clicking pause and then play just resumes that same tune, which often isn't what I want to do.
I'm using an HP laptop with the Win 7 Home Premium operating system, if this makes any difference.

In the Movies list view right click on the header row ie Name, Time, Genre etc at the top of the movie window. Select Date Added from the list. a new column Date Added will show and you can sort on this by Clicking on it.

  • Blank, "currently playing" window.

Last night I went to my friends house and somehow her daughter managed to find my ipod and listen to some music for less than 10 seconds. It was working fine but this morning when I started listening to my songs I noticed that there was a blank window in the currently playing rather than showing the name of the song or artwork and then how far it is into the song, the name of it bla bla bla, volume, skip, etc. So this is not showing up. I thought maybe her daughter messed with some settings but she didn't. I even reset the setting and that didnt work. I need to know if there's a way where I can view my song info again. I can turn up the volume and go to the next song but I just can't see what I'm doing.
This is what I'm talking about. I'm not able to view this anymore.

    Press the center button.
It switches from Volume -> Scrubber (move thru songs) -> Rating -> Lyrics -> Artwork -> Volume, etc.
If this does not do anything, read this -> http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303130

  • Flag current playing track

I've recently upgraded from 8.0.2 to 8.2 (due to performance issues with 8.1+ versions) and have noticed that iTunes is no longer showing an icon next to the currently playing track.
From the "View" menu I can select "Show Current Song" however that just highlights it in the list of tracks.
This is probably a simple setting that I must have overlooked but can't figure out how to turn this indicator back on so that the list of tracks shows the current playing track with an icon.
    Any ideas?

The speaker icon will only show where that song was selected to play.
If you select a playlist and select the song then play, it will not show the speaker next to the song in Music or any other playlist.
Also, if you select the song in Music and play it, it will not show the speaker in any playlists.

  • How to view current song in MiniPlayer?

How do you see the name of the current song that's playing when in MiniPlayer mode? If I click the button to show the "up next" list, it shows the songs that are coming up next (obviously) but how do I see the name of the current song? More importantly, why isn't the currently-playing track at the top of the "up next" list shown in some kind of different shading to give an indication that there's something different about it?
I'm pleased that there is now only one button click required to get between the main window and the MiniPlayer, so that's an improvement at least. But why there's no way to see the name of the current song I don't quite understand. It's unfathomable, really. I know it's only 11.0, so perhaps this slipped off the radar, but seems like a very obvious thing to leave out, IMHO.

For me, in System Preferences -> Keyboard, I had "All controls" selected at the bottom of the "Keyboard Shortcuts" tab, instead of "Text boxes and lists only". As a result, whenever I activated the MiniPlayer, it had one of the control buttons already highlighted (generally, the Rewind button).
iTunes behaves as if the mouse is hovering over the player in response. The solution I originally found in this thread (https://discussions.apple.com/message/20438584#20438584) was to just press Tab a few times, until the Playback controls weren't highlighted, and the track info appeared. The other option is just to turn off "All controls" tabbing in the Keyboard Preferences, though this will require you to restart iTunes to get the MiniPlayer to behave properly (otherwise, some other function will be highlighted, and the space bar won't work for Pause and Play).
    Hope this helps.

Last night, when I played my playlist songs with iTunes Genius, my iTunes, with one of my playlists selected, and set on "Shuffle On," "Genius Shuffle On, "Genius On," "Match On," and "Play," played selections from all of my songs in my playlist. • Viewing Current Song in iTunes 10?

Is there a command for iTunes to show you the song that's currently playing (show it highlighted in a visible list in the browser window)? Suppose it's on shuffle and you are separately doing stuff in iTunes like making a different playlist. Can you somehow say, "hey, get me back to the current song and show me what it is"?

From iTunes Keyboard Shortcuts (in the Help menu):
Show where a song file is located
    Shift-Command-R
Show the currently playing song in the list
    Command-L

how can i get itunes to quit skipping to the currently playing song when i'm working on the library somewhere else?

You might be able to achieve what you want by using Party Shuffle. Set the source for Party Shuffle to be the playlist you want to listen to or add the tracks you want to listen to by control clicking on them and selecting Add to Party Shuffle. Once everything is in Party Shuffle, you can rearrange them to your satisfaction. As the songs are played, they'll roll off the queue. You can quit iTunes and even when you restart, all your songs will be there, in the order you want, waiting for you to hit play.

  • What does "View - Visualizer - Play Videos" do?

I just updated to iTunes 10.4 (64-bit.)  As expected, my 3rd party plug-ins and visualizers stopped working.  I hope the best of them (like G-Force and Whitecap) get updated sometime soon.
My first question about iTunes 10.4...
What does View -> Visualizer -> Play Videos do?

Yes, thanks, Thierry. I intended to point that out, and then
    forgot.

  • Command L no longer brings you to song currently playing

I made the mistake of intalling ITunes 11.  Up until now, command L worked in any playlist to bring up the song currently playing.  A very handy tool if you have a lot of music.  Now with iTunes 11 it only works in the main Music list.  Command L does not work in the smart playlists anymore.  I need this feature back.

I could see the Controls menu flash every time I tried Command L in a smart playlist, so I am thinking it was recognizing the command, it just would not do it. I found another complaint like this that said that Command L does work in smart playlist only if you hide the sidebar on the left.  Which is stupid and I hope Apple fixes that and all the other problems with I-Tunes 11.  I have been an Apple user since the Apple IIe days.  I am getting fed up with Apple and am starting to wonder why I stay with them.

  • Stopping a currently playing sound?

I will try to make this quick and painless and hopefully
    someone knows a solutions...
I am making a kiosk based on another designers layout where I
work... I am not going to get in the details, but the work seems
sort of an unorthadox way of using flash - anyways...
It is basically an interactive slide show... play, pause,
    previous slide, next slide...
Each SWF that is loaded in is around 15000 frames in lenght
(right under that magical 16000 number) - the audio voice overs are
on the time line one after another... so when the slide changes the
voice over matches the slide current slide... there are 31 slide
JPGs and 31 mp3 files that are divided between 8 SWFs.
The issue I am having is that when you are one the first
"SWF" (slides 1-5)... and you move from slide 1 to 2 before the
audio is done playing... it will keep playing the audio from slide
one and then start the audio from slide to ... so on and so forth
until you get to slide 6 - which is a new SWF that is loaded...
I know that I need to use a stop sound script somehow... on
the first frame of each of the following slides so that it stops
the currently playing sound... if it hasn't already finished...
if you let the presentation go it works fine... but when you
move forward and back... the sound gets garbled....
can someone please help me rig this to stop the currently
playinh sound when you advance to the next slide...
I know this is a horrible way of doing this... I would have
loaded averything in at the begining and called it when needed...
but to go into details of why I had to do it this way would be too
long... let's just say the client is always right...

    I'd use:
    var snd:Sound = new Sound();
    snd.attachSound("likageID");
    snd.start();
It looks like you attempt to attach the sound to the
    movieClip instead
of the soundObject which won't work.

  • Accessing information about currently playing song/media

    Hi everybody,
I am wondering whether it is possible to retrieve Information about whatever is currently playing on the phone. I.e. the title of what's being played and the current position (in seconds).
I would like to develop an app that is able to use these information while anything is being played in the background, no matter if it is a piece of music, stream, video, audiobook, whatever.
Is this possible and if so, how?
    Thanks and
    cheers,
    Christian.

    Hello Christian,
This is quite a difficult and complex task. But you can take a look at the sample provided by the open-source music identification system
    EchoPrint.

  • Itunes showing what is currently playing.

Hi does anyone know how I can stop itunes from skiiping to the track that is currently playing. Its driving me mad when I tidy up my library and a new track starts to play and itunes skips to show me where it is. Can this feature be disabled, it's rubbish.
    Thanks

That only shows the artwork of the selected track and in no way disables the jump-to-current-track thing. There's gotta be something that disables it.
