Viewing Delegate Exchange Calendars in iOS 5

I have looked high and low, but want to make sure this CANNOT be done right now and hopefully someone has a work around.
We have an exchange server at work and I have an account. There is one main calendar which has all of the employees as delegates with read/write access.  After much tinkering, I was able to get the calendar as a delagate in iCal.  Beautiful.  No errors.
Now, how do I go about seeing that Calendar on my phone?  I only know the emai address for the account holder of the calendar.  I do not know the password, as it should be.
I have iphone utility and run a profile for this account.  I can edit the profile, if there is a way to add a delegate calendar there, but could not see a route.
Any and all help is always appreciated,
Debbie

I'm a bit confused.  You say: "What I would like to do is have our 15 mac users be able to view only a shared calendar from outlook."
First, there is no way I know of for them to see only a delegated calendar in the Calendar app (no longer called iCal in 10.8, FYI).  They have to have their own primary calendar, then they can see a delegated calendar from a specific user below the primary one and will see that shared caledar based on whatever permission they have.
The question is: does each Mac users have their own Exchange account?
If so, you should be able to share the calendar you want to share from the sharing user's Outlook 2010 by right clicking the calendar in question and giving any of a variety of rights to any user under the domain.  You have to search for the user you want to delegate to and add them, but you can definitely add them.  (I am speaking based on my experience with Outlook 2011, which is considered an inferior product compared to Outlook 2010, so 2010 should be just as capable of this if not more.  You could also use a similar process using Outlook Web Access [a.k.a. OWA] online i.e. webmail.)
If they don't have their own account and you are trying to use just one Exchange account for all 15 Mac users (which is inviting headaches, IMHO), it should still be possible, but only to do what I said above i.e. they have a primary calendar, then see a delegated calendar with whatever permissions you specified.
Again, I 100% know this can work using Outlook for Mac 2011.  It's very hard to believe Outlook 2010 cannot do the same thing.  And you can always resort to OWA.
If you think you've done all this right and it still isn't working in the Calendar app, I'd suggest trying your setup in a trail verison of BusyCal.  The developer just added Exchange support and it's a great product.  You can download a 30 day trial from the website.  If everthing works, you know it's a Calendar app issue and you can call Apple for support. If it doesn't, then you either have a problem on the configuration side (your problem) or Office 365 isn't working like it's supposed to (Microsoft's problem - reach out to support).
Good luck!

  • Can't see delegate google calendars in ios 6

I am intermittently seeing my delegate Google calendars, though not most of the time on IOS 6.  My gen 1 iPad with IOS 5.1.1 can access them and sync with them, as well as iCal in my iMac running 10.8.2.  I took my iPhone 5 to the Apple store.  We tried turning the phone off and on, turning calendars for the gmail account off and on, uninstalling and reinstalling the gmail account, putting in the same gmail account as an exchange account with the first still there.  We even tried this on a second iPhone in the store.  There was no change in the result.  The delegate calendars would show for a few seconds during the initial sync and all but the main calendar would disappear.  I am lost as to what tp try next.

    Check out https://www.google.com/calendar/iphoneselect
    That helped me a lot.

  • View colleagues' exchange calendar in iCal?

    Hi!
I can see my own Exchange calendar just fine with iCal 4 from the corporate Exchange server.  However, colleagues have also shared their Exchange calendars with me - which I can see just fine on Webmail / Exchange 2007, but I would also like to view these shared calendars in iCal.
Any help would be well appreciated!
    Thank you,
    Greg.

    Hi guys,
    "googling" I found this applescript:
    tell application "iCal"
              set color of calendar "Calendar" to choose color default color {0, 0, 0}
    end tell
Waiting for an Apple fix, you can use this. It's wok like a charm!

  • Does Your Exchange Calendar Currently Show Events More Than 2 Weeks Old?

Quick question: Can you view any exchange calendar items on your Pre which you have created on your desktop and which are more than two weeks old as you read this post? I can't.  After several hours of support chat and then an "elevation" to phone support, I was told by Palm telephone support that this was a new feature after Webos 1.2.1.
However, two things make me doubt that this is true:
    1) Other Pre users on precentral.net report that they have installed 1.2.1 and they can still see exchange calendar events older than two weeks.
    2) I noticed something really weird: I had deleted my exchange account and was re-adding it in an attempt to solve the problem. The account was syncing but I was watching my screen and it was displaying the monthly view of September, 2009. When the account was almost done syncing, I saw the calendar "flicker" a couple of times and when it did, I could see that there were all my grayed out September dates. Then it said that sync was complete and all events before 9/30/09 disappeared.
SO...I'm thinking that the data is actually in the phone but just not displaying on the calendar! That is really weird and would seem to be a true "bug" to me. For my job, I really need to be able to look back and verify what appointments occurred on what dates in the past. The Iphone and Blackberry users at my office that use the same exchange server can look back months and years at their old events.
If you are reading this could you please reply to let me know if this is a unique issue for me or whether others are having the same experience? I'd really appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Joe

Very similar issue here.  I am syncing my Pre with Google Mail.  Don't even ASK what a hassle it was to get my Entourage contacts into Gmail and have everything populate the correct fields.  A freakin' NIGHTMARE.
That said, the syncing with synergy seems to work well, with one major drawback.  No calendar entries older than two months.  This renders my calendar virtually useless.  What is the POINT of this stupidity.  I am perfectly capable of deciding if I want to use my pre's storage for older entries.
Unbelievable.  I really hope palm gets it's head in gear and starts supporting its loyal users.  Much more of this, and I will jump to virtually ANY other smart phone.

  • Exchange calendar not in calendar list on PRE

So after 3 weeks of working on getting exchange set-up I finally did it.  Contacts and Email work great but the Calendar shows up in my account list but when I go through my calendar's via the drop down menu at the top right in the calendar view, my exchange calendar does not show up.  Events that I set-up on my computer show as blocked out time on my PRE but I am unable to access the event.  The exchange calendar is not in the list of available calendars to make a default calendar and I'm also unable to create new events to the exchange calendar.  It does not even show up as an available calendar in the list.
    Someone please help.

I seem to be having the same or a similar problem.  Exchange does not show up in the drop down on the default calendar list or in the drop down where it normally says "All" on the main calendar page.  Exchange is properly setup and I even get notifications for my exchange appointments, but I also have issues viewing those appointments.  I'm not sure if the issue in this thread has these issues too:
    * The appointments are not displayed in the calendar on my Pre
    * The Pre calendar will look like it is trying to find the appointments for the day I am viewing and never finishes (i.e. it will gray out like it does when you first switch the dat, but it never recovers!).  At this point, I can't even swipe left or right to move day to day.
I followed the advice of some other threads, and tested moving all my appointments into a backup calendar that wouldn't be sync'ed into the calendar on my Pre.  When I do this, I don't have that "grayed out" problem, but obviously I don't have any appointments from Exchange to look at.  Once I add one appointment back into my calendar from Outlook on my PC, sync my Pre calendar, and exit and re-open the calendar, the Pre gets back into that grayed out state and doesn't display the appointment.
Any advice for this one?  (This is on OS 1.1.0)

  • Exchange Calendar Syncing but no events showing in my calendar

I have a palm pre plus from verizon and am using active sync with an exchange account.  My email and contacts sync perfectly.  I know my calendar events are in sync because I get my reminders pop up for events right when they should be (normally 15 minutes prior).  The problem is that when I open the calendar it shows no entries at all!  I have the exchange account set as default and have tried adding and deleting the account about 10 times to no avail.  I can even enter a new entry on the pre and it shows up in outlook shortly after.  When I am done entering the new appointment on the pre though and go back to the calendar page, it does not show.  I've tried only viewing the exchange calendar and showing all calendars and neither way shows me my calendar.  HELP!  Thanks everyone!

Same problem here.....latest webos installed, email and calendars downloading fine from Exchange, email sync'd working both ways, but calendar events entered on the Pre are not uploading to Exchange.  Problem has been going on since year 2010 bug fix in latest webos release.  What is the fix? Palm Pre from Sprint.

  • Will IOS 6 support viewing Exchange calendar attachments?

    Good day,
I use an iPhone in the workplace, and my calendar appointments always have attachments.  I can not view these attachments in IOS, yet on my old Android phone, I was able too.  I switched to the iPhone for the stability, however this is becoming a growing problem as more employees are getting iPhones and running across the same issue.
My question is quite simple, will IOS 6 support viewing Exchange calendar attachments?
    Thank you.

Our company is making the move from the BB to the iPhone. We've had iPad (3 series) issued to us for a little while now and that's been the biggest and really the only complaint. All of our schedule sheets for our Field Service Engineers are sent via attatchments. We can't see where we're going if we accept the appointment.
Is there a way to make this work? The Samsung's don't allow this either.

  • Exchange calendar invitations accepted in IOS remain "new" in iCal

My work calendar and email is based on Exchange. I manage both from a Mac (using Outlook 2011 for Mac) and an iPhone 5 running IOS 7.latest.
It works just fine. If I accept an invitation on any platform is is accepted on all. Then I look at OSX Calender (which I will refer to as iCal) and I still see a mass of invitations (the ones that I accepted on my phone or using Outlook).
I use iCal because I share calendars with the rest of my family using iCloud. So that I can view my work and home calendars in one place, I have also set up iCal to see both iCloud and Exchange calendars.
The iCloud side of the house does what I want it to do. The problem comes with the way iCal deals with calendar invitations from my Exchange account. Here goes:
I receive an Exchange calendar invitation.
I process it (accept/tentative/decline) using Outlook on the Mac or the IOS Calendar on my iPhone.
The invitation on the device I didn't use goes away.
    I open iCal.
The "new" invitation is still there in iCal waiting to be processed, the only way to clear it is to accept/tentative/decline it.
I cannot find any setting to prevent this from happening. iCal seems to ignore changes in status of Exchange invitations.
Any ideas gratefully accepted! Thanks, Charlie

have had what I think is similar issue.... on both ipad and iphone.  Running IOS6.  Have gmail account setup through exchange connector.  IOS receives and accepts invites just fine from external devices....  If i create a new invite on the IOS device and add invitees with external email addresses, once this calendar invite is saved into the diary it doesnt trigger invites to go out to those 3rd parties... but the invite definitely is in the calendar as can also see it on mast google calendar.
If I then go and move the timing of the invite that has been created on the IOS device (by holding down and dragging to new time) this then immediately triggers an invite (new Invitiation, not reschedule) to be sent to the external email addresses...  any further modification to timing of invite then triggers 'reschedule' calendar invites to go out - so expected behaviour.
The issue is that IOS is not triggering the invite to go out to external parties who have been added to a newly created invite - and it only does this when the date/time of the invite is modified.
Spent about 1.5 hrs on phone to apple support yesterday - they have now passed on to 3rd level support....
Are others seeing the same behaviour as above?

  • Appointments emailed from iCloud calendar in Outlook are not received on IOS device using exchange calendar.

I email tons of appointment invitations from my iCloud calendar in Outlook.  Appointments synch to IOS devices and are on icloud.com.  People receive invitations in Outlook and on IOS devices.  My husband runs IOS devices with exchange calendars.  He never receives the appointment invitations.  All of the appointment invitations are on his iCloud.com account.  Can he synch to both exchange and iCloud?  WIll this allow him to see the invitations I send that are hung up in iCloud?

Could be a corrupt item, this usually fixes it if that is the case
    Backup device then in Outlook
    highlight calendar
    goto file import/export
    choose export to file
    choose Persoanl folder pst, next
make sure calendar is highlighted and choose subfolders if you have them, next
save to desktop with a name you can remember, Finish
    Click ok on screen popup
Go to view, arange by events
    delete all entries.
close outlook and any word files, open outlook back up after 15 seconds.
    Then
    goto file import/export
import from another program or file, next
    choose Persoanl folder pst, next
    find the file and import
    Choose highlight calendar and Finish
Change view back to what you want and try again.

  • ICal not displaying Exchange calendar form delegate

I have a very strange problem. I use iCal with Exchange 2007 and do have several delegates as read-only in their calendar. It works extremely well, except for one of them which can't be displayed. I got the following message : iCal can’t refresh the account “Manuel Moutoy”.
When I log on to a PC with outlook, I can perfectly access this calendar which makes me think the problems lies in iCal. I tried removing the user and re-adding him several times, but that did not change anything.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks, Jean-Francois.

Anyone else seeing repeated crashing with iCal connected up with delegate accounts?
I have successfully gotten 6 delegate accounts showing up properly in the main iCal window. Here is what worked for me when an account did not appear.
Note: This will delete all local calendar data and require you reconfigure your accounts and delegates. In other words, this assumes ONLY server-based / Exchange calendars used in iCal.
    1. Got to preferences
    2. Deleted the account from the Delegate tab
    3. Close iCal
    4. Navigate to ~/Library/Calendars and delete all files/folders there
    5. Relaunch iCal and reconfigure primary Exchange account
6 Re-add delegates into iCal, waiting for each calendar to full sync down to local cache before adding additional calendars
    Hope this helps!

  • Longstanding Exchange Calendar Sync Bug Persists in iOS 7 / 7.0.2

For those who sync their iPhone / iPad / iPod touch to a Microsoft Exchange e-mail environment, you may be aware that there's a longstanding Exchange Calendar Sync bug (affecting iOS 4.x - 6.1.3).  An otherwise functional iDevice may suddenly remain warmer to the touch than normal, exhibit much shorter battery life, and start using cellular data at up to ten times the user's typical pattern.  I've taked with Apple Support several times, and was never able to get an answer.  The fix involves simply opening the Exchange account settings on the iDevice, shutting off calendar sync for thirty seconds, and turning it back on.  This is nothing new.
Over the weekend, an executive’s iPhone 5 (on Verizon) and his iPad 2 (Wi-Fi only), both running iOS 7, began exhibiting runaway connections to my employer’s Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync server.  The user upgraded his iPhone 5 to iOS 7.0.2 over the weekend, but the problem persisted.  In one 24-hour period, his iPhone checked in with our server 45,009 times, while his iPad connected 55,547 times.  Normally we’d expect to see a single device connect a few hundred times per day rather than tens of thousands.
I've written more about it here.

This is still a problem in iOS 7.0.4 as well.  We just had runaway calendar sync behavior on a 4th generation iPad running iOS 7.0.4 (iPad3C4/1102.55400001), which connected 75,436 times in a single 24-hour day.

  • Exchange calendar sync issues among iOS devices and Mavericks

When I add an event to a shared Exchange calendar on my Mac in iCal, and mark it as All-Day, that designation does not appear with the event on my iOS devices. Instead, it's given a 24-hour duration from 12 to 12, so to speak. Here's the confusing part: If I edit the event on my iPhone to correct it as All-Day, it does not sync that All-Day designation to my iPad. Additionally, if I then make the same correction on the iPad, toggles it on the phone and removes All-Day. Removal of All-Day designation on a device does remove it on the Mac calendar, which I then have to change back. So I chase it around in a circle and end up with the correct duration on only one iOS device. The difference in All-Day and 24 hours duration does matter graphically as many of these events run for several weeks or months. All-Day keeps them confined to the upper section of the calendar graph rather than muddying up the lowerm hourly appointments.
Any ideas on how to rectify the problem?
I'm running Mavericks, iOS 7.0.3 and using MS Exchange 2010.

There are several other posters on the Forums that are having issues with Exchange sync'ing with Mavericks. It could be that your all-day verses mutli-hour issue may be among them.
Most of the problems that people are seeing, including myself, are more to do with Mail and Calendar simply not synchronizing.
My Mail.app INBOX for my Exchange server is now several hours behind my iOS and Windows Outlook instances. Calendar appointments are simply not being pushed to the server (though they seem to be retrieved OK).
So, sorry for now help on this one directly, but you are not alone.

  • Does IOS 5.01 fix the Exchange calendar corruption problem?

IOS 5 has an issue that will corrupt Exchange calendars, deleting appoints, etc. Does 5.01 fix this problem?
    Thanks!

5.0.1 does not address Outlook, my guess is that any troubles you have are on Outlook's end.

  • HT5928 In iOS 6 I could sync my Exchange Drafts folder and view the emails. In iOS 7 - I cannot !!!

I cannot sync my Drafts folder from the Exchange to the iOS 7.
In iOS 6 I could sync my Exchange Drafts folder perfectly and I could at least view the emails (but without neeing able to edit them).
In iOS 7 - I cannot even sync the emails in my Exchange Drafts.
We are using Exhcange 2007 so this problem is common to many other users.
Pelase help with a solution. Thsi is definitely a crtical problem!
    Thank you.

    Exactly!
This is all about the experience and accessibility. I don't even mind if the new desing is beautiful or not, but if I find myself, like you, avoiding looking for my music, my experience becomes frustrating. I have about 35 albums of a single artist and I used to love going over them and choose the right thing for me, especially being on the road a lot, and now I have to think twice about even entering his name.
I really hope Apple will take those kind of things into consideration when they issue updates for ios 7, and maybe also give us back the goole search which was embeded into the spotlight search (which is really not that big of a request).
And for your 4s - get the new iphone, it's MUCH better
