Viewing dicom on iPad

I need a dicom viewing app that will allow me to connect to a LAN to get images. Is that possible?

There probably won't be a single app. You'll most likely need an app to view the images, and also an app like FileBrowser which allows the iPad to connect to network file shares; you would locate the image in FileBrowser and use the "open with" option and select the dicom viewer.

Not entirely sure what you mean, but if it's that you want to download and install flash then you can't - it is not supported on the iPad (http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/). Browser apps such as Skyfire claim to support flash bu their reviews are mixed. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store, so you could check to see if any of your favoutrite sites have apps.

When I tab on the arrow in the upper right hand corner of Adobe I can mail a document sans problem, but I can't open one that way. I moved the files to google+ and then opened it in the adobe app but now the file it opens is the message, not the file I downloaded from inbox.

Help on adobe content viewer ? for ipad/pc combo

I loaded the adobe content viewer on my Ipad and it says my authentiction is not valid, but when I sign in on the computer P/C I get in.. Any suggestions or ideas as to why I cant get in on the Ipad??

Apple hasn't rejected the viewer. They're just taking a longer time than usual for whatever reason.
The current version of the iPad viewer works with the 1.0.x version of the tools. If you need to view folios on the iPad, you can uninstall the 1.1.x tools and install the 1.0.x tools (or use the v11 tools from prerelease). Or, if you're a paying customer, you can use the Viewer Builder to create a custom viewer that lets you preview content on the iPad.

What locations are you seeing these "problems"? If the satellite photos are older or not as clear, you may see some of what you describe. Take a look at one of the major cities and see if they are also appearing as you describe. Someplace like New York, London, Paris. Those are among the cities that seem to be updated most frequently.
Incidentally, the maps are web/cloud based and not contained within the maps app on your iPad, so regardless of the version of your app, you will still get the most current map available.

You can only view your full purchase history (not just the last 90 days) via a computer's iTunes : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it, click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases

Inconsistent results using the "places" view on the iPad with geotagged photos

I am getting inconsistent results with geotagged photos on the iPad (both 1 and 2) OS 5.01. It seems that sometime photos will show up in the correct location on the places view others will not ( they will not show up at all). In fact I can have a geotagged photo in one folder, synch with iTunes and it will not show up in the places view and then move that same picture to a different folder (which becomes an album on the iPad) re-synch and it will now show up at the correct location in the places view. All photos show up in the album view. Everything is the latest version iTunes, iPad etc. I can also have many photos geotagged exactly to the same location (exact same coordinates) some will show up, others will not.
I have used different methods to geotag my photos. At first I was using Photoshop Elements 8 until they stopped supporting geotagging photos. Now I am using a third party application GeoSetter (excellent free application). The GPS data is clearly in the Exif data but the results are not consistent.
Any ideas?

I believe I have solved this problem myself and thought others might benefit from what I found. It turns out to be what I believe as a glitch in iTunes. iTunes creates a cache of all the photos that you synch with your iPad, iPhone etc. Apparently it does not update that cache when you change the photo. At least not the Geotagging data. The file modify date was changing but that wasn't enough to cause iTunes to update the cache of the photos. I deleted the cache of all the photos and re-synched and presto now all my photos where showing up at the correct location in the iPad "places" view.
I might add that I called Apple tech support and was routed to a higher tier support person and was very disappointed with his response. He basically told me that the "place" view in the iPad and iPhone was designed to be only used with an Apple computer and Apple software and was surprised the places view was working at all with pictures synched with a Windows based machine. He also said he was unable to help me since he couldn't provide support for non-Apple products. Although I understand this to a point I think he was too quick to make this decision. The solution after all was a simple one and one I think he should have known. I would think this cache problem would happen whether I was using Apple products as well. I view this as a bug in iTunes. Apple needs to compare the modified date of the file and update the cache if it has changed.

You don't. It is always there.
It's not downloaded to your iPad then deleted from iCloud.

You don't watch movies you've downloaded to your iPad in iTunes. You watch them in the Video app.

Need help logging into Adobe Content Viewer on my iPad

I have downloaded Adobe Content Viewer on my iPad and when I try to sign in I get an authentication failed message. I have changed my password and i have no problem logging into my account for Adobe on the website. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

An external hyperlink should handoff to Safari and leave iBooks.
If that's not happening, perhaps there is something misconfigured on your iPad? Have you manually confirmed those links work in Safari on your iPad?

Need to view dicom files online using a software

hi friends i am trying to plan a very simple solution for my laboratory. i have established a server in my office where i have installed a software to view dicom images . this is a special standard just like jpeg but developed only for medical images. it stands for Digital Imaging & Communication in Medicine.
i want my other centre in south India to view my website and be able to get record of any patient from the database. since the records are in dicom format they need the software to view those images but i dont want the other centre to get into hassles of installing the s/w and then use it. i want an instance of the software to be called from the server on my website so that the images can be viewed online .
how do i do that please help.
if anyone else has another solution you are most welcome.

Two ways of doing this come to mind:
1) As Kaj says, you can convert the image into jpeg or gif or pdf (or whatever) that standard browsers can display. You do that conversion on the server.
2) If you already have a Java application that can display those images, you can use Java Web Start to launch that application on the client machine without its user having to do anything. JWS takes care of installing the application on the client and keeping it up-do-date with the server's latest version.
