Viewing/Downloading pictures from iCloud

I'm having a big problem trying to download my iCloud pics on my PC. They are all there in the album, but as I'm scrolling up and down I see only the same single page of pics until I hover over each photo. When I attempt to select pics to download, and I scroll down, no pics show up at all so I can't see what I want to select. Very frustrating, any help is appreciated. Thanks!

If the restore process is restoring photos it is in the "background" restore mode.  While it is recommended that you let this complete, if has already been several days and  you can stop the process by restarting the phone.  To do this, hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.  (Apple estimates that it can take up to 1-4 hours per gigabyte for the restore process to complete.)

  • How do I download pictures from icloud backup to a new device

I just bought a new iPad yesterday because my iPhone was stolen a few weeks ago.  That phone was backed up to iCloud.  How do I get the pictures from iCloud back up to my new iPad?  I heard there is a short time period to retrieve them and I may be out of luck but need to try.  Any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you for helping me.  Technology is not my strong suit.  I will explain how I got into this situation and then maybe there is another way to recover these photos:
I finally decided to upgrade my unlocked Canadian iPhone 3 to a 4S here in California.
The AT&T store personnel had a hard time getting the photos from the 3 to the 4S directly so they downloaded the photos from the 3 onto a computer and then to the 4S.  I apologize, I'm not sure how to see if the photos are in the Photo Stream but I know they were on the Camera Roll.
After getting home, I was having issues downloading from iTunes. I think it was because the 3 was originally from Canada so the 4S kept sending me to the Canadian iTunes store when trying to log on.  We decided to wait and take the phone to an Apple store to get help however the phone was stolen shorty thereafter.
A couple of days ago we bought an iPad and thought we should try and recover the photos from that phone.  We had some friends who live in Canada access the account and switch it over to recognize that it is a US account.
My wife did set up iCloud on the 4S.  So we assumed the phone was backing up everything, including the Camera Roll, when charging.  Possibly not so.
My wife is pretty sure the photo stream was on as we didn't change any of the settings after getting it.
I would appreciate an ideas you may have.
    Thank you & kind regards,
    Doug

  • Can I download pictures from iCloud to a friends pc?

When you take photos on an Apple device, I assume you manually tell it to go to your iCloud account.  Either individually, or by selecting them in multiples?
And you can login to your iCloud from any PC?
Can you login to it from a friend's PC and then download those photos to their PC?  In other words, rather than using cables etc to copy files across, can you just give them to the person, via iCloud.
Secondly, can you create folders on iCloud so that you can keep certain files and folders private, and only show specific files to the person?
For example, you may have sensitive snaps from a holiday on your account, and you just want to share 10 pics you just took to your friend and give them to that person.
    Thanks in advance.

  • TS3989 I can't seem to download pictures from my iCloud to my PC. I have the iCloud app installed on PC, but NOTHING happens when I run.  HELP!

I have followed all the directions to download pictures from my iCloud to my PC, watched 2 videos, and started and restarted both devices and I can't get it to work. I am at my wits end- someone please help!

Problem closed (although not resolved).  After working with Apple support, no resolution was found.  I asked for a refund of the iTunes match purchase price, which was granted.  Interestingly the support tech, who was very nice if not particularly helpful from a technical point of view, spun the "resolution" of refunding my iTunes match purchase price as a positive one, here is a quote from the final email
"I'm glad to hear that you're not having issues with the songs you've purchased.  Nothing makes Apple happier than to hear that our customers concerns have been rectified."
It is notable that I never had an issue downloading music directly purchased thru the iTunes store, the only issue that existed was downloading songs that I ripped from my CD collection and "matched".
I'm happy that I received my money back, however I wish that the iTunes Match service worked for me (I was looking forward to this service).  I'm most upset at the time I wasted trying to fix this problem.
I'll now download music the old fashioned way: syncing with iTunes directly.

How do I download pictures from my photo streams in iCloud to my computer so that I can delete the photo streams to save space on my iPhone but still save the pictures?  My computer is a Dell running Windows 8.1?

    Hi Asanyasir,
If you are trying to download your pictures from Photo Stream, you may want to look at this article -
    iCloud: Shared Photo Streams FAQ
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5903
    In particular this section -
Can photos be saved or downloaded from a shared photo stream?
Yes. After photos are shared, anyone who can view the shared stream can download and keep them permanently.
On a compatible iOS device, you can save photos to the Camera Roll. On a Mac, using iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later, you can save photos from the shared stream to your local Photo Library or any other location on your Mac. On a Windows PC, you can copy photos from a shared photo stream to any folder. On the web, photos can be downloaded directly to your computer from the detail view of each photo.

  • Iphoto is trying to download pictures from my iphone 4s that is not connected.  How do I fix this?

My imac began to download pictures from my iphone 4s, it was unplugged before the download of pictures was complete, now iphoto is trying to download without success and I can not get it to stop.  How can I get iphoto to stop trying to download?

I had not set up iCloud on my iphone...my oops.  Photostream is off and iPhoto on the mac is still trying to download from my iPhone.  I have tired shutting off the phone, plugging it back into the mac and still no luck.  It still has 53 remaining and the little colored wheel is turning.

Can you download pictures from a card reader to the iPhone?

Can you download pictures from a card reader to the iPhone?
That would depend upon the card reader, who makes it, and what their suppointing software does.  I happen to have an older ZoomIT SD card reader with a 30 pin dock connector.  The hardware maker provides an app for iOS that allows me to use the adapter with my iPhone 4 and I can open pictures from the SD card and view them.  I believe it even allows me to save teh image to my cameral roll if I want.  Since it does have the 30 pin dock connector, I need to use the Apple adapter to plug it into the Lightning port on my iPhone 5, but is still works just fine there too.
I also have the Apple Camera Connection Kit (30 pin version) but it is much more restrictive.  It only works with the iPad, and it only copies certain files form teh SD card to the iPad. (The files must be in the "/DCIM" folder on the SD card, the file name must be in the older DOS 8.3 file name format, and I believe it only woirks with JPG, and MOV files.  As you can see, the Apple device is built to let me view pictures from my point-n-shoot cmera on the iPad screen, whereas the ZoomIT allows copying of content to/from the SD card and an iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch.
Now for the bad news, I don' tthink the ZoomIT reader is made any longer, and when you can find them, the sellers are usually charging close to $125 for them.

  • Unable to download pics from icloud to Mac Pro

Just updated Mac Pro to Mountain but cannot download pics from icloud. Is MobileMe required?

MobileMe is closed and has no relevance to anything. iCloud provides 'PhotoStream' but this is purely a conduit which automatically transfers pictures taken on one device onto all the others which are signed in in iPhoto or Aperture - you can't manually download photos. There is also a very basic photo gallery in the form of 'Photo Stream' which is populated only from iPhoto for iOS, not from a Mac.
If you are trying to access pictures which were in your MobileMe Gallery, these have now been deleted. It's probable that you also have these photos on your Mac, synced with the online gallery in iPhoto or Aperture, but if you don't have the picture on your Mac I'm afraid they are lost.

  • I cannot download photos from icloud to my laptop.

OS is win7 and I have installed icloud control panel 4.0. All other data, e.g. contacts, tasks and files, can synchronise with icloud. But I cannot download photos from icloud.

    Hi Xanderway,
I see that you are having an issue with your Photo Stream in iCloud on your PC. I have an article with some troubleshooting steps you may wish to take in order to resolve this issue, and it can be found here:
Get help using My Photo Stream - Apple Support
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203511
I added some photos to My Photo Stream on my Windows PC, but they don't appear in the Recently Added album or My Photo Stream album on any of my devices.
To see if your computer and other devices are online, try to view www.apple.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, iCloud Photos can't send or receive updates from My Photo Stream. You might need to troubleshoot your Internet connection on your PC, Mac, or iOS devices.
On your computer, open iCloud for Windows 4.0 (or iCloud Control Panel) and make sure that you're signed in to the same iCloud account that you're using on your other supported devices.
In Windows 8.1, go to the Start screen, click the down arrow  in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud app.
In Windows 8, go to the Start screen, and click the iCloud tile.
In Windows 7, choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
Click the Options button and make sure that My Photo Stream is turned on.
Close and reopen iCloud for Windows 4.0 (or iCloud Control Panel).
    Restart your computer.
Make sure that you used one of the methods below to add photos to My Photo Stream with iCloud for Windows 4.0 (or iCloud Control Panel) on your Windows PC.
Add the photos using the Add Photos button in iCloud Photos:
Open a File Explorer window (Windows 8 or 8.1) or Windows Explorer window (Windows 7).
Under the Favorites menu, click iCloud Photos.
    Double-click My Photo Stream.
    Click Add photos.
Select the photos that you'd like to add and click OK.
Or you can copy photos from a folder to the iCloud Photos Uploads folder:
Confirm the location of your Uploads folder.
Open iCloud for Windows 4.0 (or iCloud Control Panel).
In Windows 8.1, go to the Start screen, click the down arrow  in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud app.
In Windows 8, go to the Start screen, then click the iCloud tile.
In Windows 7, choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
Click the Options button next to iCloud Photos.
Open a File Explorer window (Windows 8 or 8.1) or Windows Explorer window (Windows 7).
Go to the iCloud Photos folder location listed in iCloud for Windows 4.0 (or iCloud Control Panel).
    Open the Uploads folder.
Open the folder that contains the photos that you want to add to My Photo Stream.
Copy them into the Uploads folder.
Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!

How do I download photos from iCloud to my Lenovo Yoga PC?

    Hi Intellikat,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  To download your iCloud Photo Stream photos to your PC, you'll first need to set up iCloud's Photo Stream feature on your PC.  This article has instructions:
    iCloud: Set up Photo Stream
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ph2605
This article has answers to other questions that might help as well:
    iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486
How many photos are stored in My Photo Stream on my devices and computers?
iCloud pushes all your photos to the My Photo Stream album on your devices and computers, and manages them efficiently, so you don’t run out of storage space.
Your iOS devices keep a rolling collection of your last 1000 photos in the My Photo Stream album. From there, you can browse your recent photos or move the ones you like to your Camera Roll or another album to keep them on your device forever.
Because your Mac and PC have more storage than your iOS devices, you can choose to have all of your My Photo Stream photos automatically downloaded. In iPhoto or Aperture preferences on your Mac, select Photos (or Photo Stream) > My Photo Stream > Automatic Import. All of your photo stream photos will be imported into your Events, Projects, Photos, Faces, and Places folders in iPhoto or Aperture. On your PC with My Photo Stream enabled in the Control Panel, all of your photos will be imported into C:\\Users\<user name>\Pictures\iCloud Photos\My Photo Stream. For iCloud Control Panel 2.0 to 2.1.2 users, the path isC:\\Users\<user name>\Pictures\Photo Stream\My Photo Stream .

  • HT201272 My iPhone won't download music from iCloud only apps. The songs appear to download, then give a download error message just before it finishes. Also the songs won't transfer when I sync the phone to pc, only the apps.

My iPhone only downloads apps from iCloud, the songs get almost finish then I get a download error message. Also the only thing that syncs are the apps, not the music when I sync on pc?

    Hi,
I experienced the same issue as you have. What worked for me is the following:
Go to iTunes store on your iPad. Under Downloads (the icon to the bottom right) you should see the episode that is causing you the issue. Delete this episode (swipe to left). Then retry. This worked for me.
The workaround is far from ideal and Apple needs to find a solution for this as you are not the only one who reported this issue.
    Regards

  • When I download pictures from my camera, they turn out a nice big size in iPhoto; other pictures that have been e-mailed to me or imported from older libraries/other computers show up small.  Why is this, and how can I make them all the larger size?

When I download pictures from my digital camera into iPhoto, they turn out a nice large size (usually almost the full screen), but when somebody e-mails me pictures and I import them into iPhoto, or when I transfer old photos from an old library into my new iPhoto library, they turn out very small--not exactly thumbnail-size, but too small to use for calendars or photo books.  I don't know much about computers, so I don't know how this happened.  Also, I can't find any discernible pattern to why this happens with some pictures and not others--ie: what I described above is usually true, but I have had e-mailed photos or old photos turn out the way I want them, which is in the larger size in iPhoto.  Why is this happening, and how can I make all the pictures the larger size?

Some mail programs, including Apple Mail, can reduce the size of images that are attached to a message. It's happening at the sender's end, and all you can do is ask the sender for a larger image.
