Viewing HTML on Mail
Some incoming emails have the comment that Mail is not currently configured to show HTML. Under Mail>preferences>view I have checked the box display remote images in HTML. How do I correct this without having to go to a web link to read the message in HTML?
Thanks,
Some incoming emails have the comment that Mail is not currently configured to show HTML.
I've never seen such a message. Can you post the exact message?
Under Mail>preferences>view I have checked the box display remote images in HTML.
Bad, bad idea! Putting remote images in messages has legit uses, but it's also a trick used by spammers to verify your address. You open the message, it requests an image with a unique name keyed to your address, thus "phoning home" and telling the spammer that you looked at their message. Which will encourage them to send you lots more! I get HTML e-mails frequently, and having this box unchecked does not affect how they display (other than showing a blank space where the image would be).

Viewing HTML e-mail and problems with = (equal sign)
Good day,
I am having problems with apple mail rendinering html e-mail messages. There are extra = in the message body. The = appears to be line continuation character in the HTML. I have no problems viewing the message in Thunderbird or Entorage, but Mac Mail is a problem. The = appears to be displayed as a literal rather than part of the html reconstruction. Any thoughts as how to resolve this issue?
Here is the source of the message.

Looks like there is a common theme there. It is probably just that the original message has been corrupted somehow. Some mail clients try harder to understand corrupted data than others. I can't really tell from your original post. With mail messages, you really need to have the original data, not copied and pasted and not forwarded. If you have such a mail message, save it as raw source, put it into a zip file, and e-mail it to me. I can tell if it is an Apple Mail problem or a MS problem. If it is an Apple problem, I can file a detailed bug report on it. You can find an e-mail address for me by Googling my nickname. -
Cant view html newsletters in mail
I can seem to be able to view html newsletters in Mail. It strips all the images and formatting only shows links and text. I usually have to click the link found in the text where you can view it online to see the proper formatted document.
Funny thing is that i used to be able to view them and it seems that all of a sudden i cant view them any more. I havent changed any settings (i dont remember if mail has updated recently but i usually do the updates as soon as i am prompted). The only thing i can see in Mail Preferences that may relate to this is under Viewing where is says "Display remote images in HTML messages" which is already checked.
I am on Leopard with Mail 3.2
Any clues anyone?I experience the same problem. Mail.app indicates that it can not display html and refers to a url. Strange enough, this also happens with messages sent by Apple.
I am using Leopard with Mail 3.3 -
Nokia C3 - viewing html via e-mail / Hotmail
Deer users,
I wondered if there is an option for the Nokia C3 to view HTML via e-mail, for example Hotmail.
Does someone knows how to configure this in the phone?

Hi All
Strange one, but ever since moving to Snow Leopard on the MacBook Pro, images will not load in the viewing screen of Mail. I have fiddled with the 'Display Remote Messages in HTML' preference, and for a second when I tick/un-tick that box I can see the image in Mail, before it disappears again.
I have never had this issue before...and the only new thing is moving to the MacBook Pro (via Time Machine) with Snow Leopard.
Any help on this would be great, as with my business I am unable to view stats in vital emails.
TarI've been having this issue since Tiger and cannot fix it (unless I reformat my mac and start from scratch). There has to be a corrupt preference file somewhere. Basically, no matter what option I choose in mail (either display remote images or no), the images NEVER display. It's something within my mail files as when I installed 10.6, I went with a fresh install, but manually copied over my mail and prefs.
It's been an issue for 2+ years. I have an old thread on these boards that never got to the bottom of it then, either. Argh.

Margin errors in HTML e-mail test
In a previous post, I had asked for help viewing HTML mail campaign pieces and got the suggestion to try Email on Acid. I did and this was a scream to watch. The results for Outlook (every issue) was less than stellar. However, Gmail reveled the worst results. I use OS X Mail and everything looks great there. The test spits out critical errors. One is that Photoshop doesn't supply a <!DOCTYPE> declaration, but that's easy enough to fix. The consistent errors in Outlook were:
MARGINHEIGHT- MARGINHEIGHT attribute is not supported in BODY tags
Line: 7
and
MARGINWIDTH - MARGINWIDTH attribute is not supported in BODY tags
Line:7
Any ideas what this is and how to fix?

Thanks,
Bill RzasaShort answer. Don't use Photoshop or any graphics app to generate HTML code for you.
The code Photoshop generates is deprecated. Change the following
<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0">
To this:
<body>
Use graphics apps for images only. Use an HTML editor to create your HTML Emails.
FYI: For security reasons, many web mail users don't see graphics. When I look at your HTML Email without images, I see nothing because there is no real text on the page.

Sender Mail Adapter - html body mail
Hello Everybody,
I'm facing this strange problem:
I receive an e-mail with an XML attachment with a sender mail adapter and I use the PayloadSwapBean to let the attachment be the real payload as explaned in this blog
<a href="/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/18/xi-sender-mail-adapter--payloadswapbean--step-by-step:///people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/18/xi-sender-mail-adapter--payloadswapbean--step-by-step
If I receive mail in text/plain format everything works fine, but as soon as I get an email with an html body (content-type: multipart/alternative; boundary=...) it doesn't any more (In the XI Monitor i still se 2 payloads, but I can only open the one with the attachment).
In this case the mapping is stuck in "scheduled for outbound process" status and the XI queue gets blocked with status "SYSFAIL" giving this error "Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible".
Is there any way to force XI digest also HTML e-mails?
As always, thanks a lot for your help.
DanieleThanks Akshay,
this really worked!
Fyi I'm using XIPAYLOAD option. I added in the module chain, before the PayloadSwapBean, a MessageTransformBean with this parameter:
Transform.ContentType - text/plain;charset=uft-8
this way I can also see the massage body in the monitornig.
Hope this will be helpful for someone else.

Can not view my icloud mail messages on my phone
I am not able to look at my mail within the icloud mail. Any suggestions
Not sure what you mean by "within iCloud mail" but if you can't view your iCloud mail inside the Mail app on your phone, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Mail off, then after a few seconds turn Mail back on again.
-
I'm sure I futzed with a setting or something----the viewer in my Mail App is gone.
I can still view my email by double-clicking on it, then it opens in a new window. But how do I return it to viewing my email integrated with my list of emails. make sense?
thank you.
--KevinCommand-Option-N
Opens a new Inbox for my email but does not fix the issue. When I select a specific email it is not viewable in that new window. The only way I can view the email is to double-click (then it opens a new window with that email only)
perplexing. -
WHY OH WHY NO HTML SUPPORT MAIL 5.1????
Guys
First of all well done on Lion. It is a geat looking OS and I personally LOVE IT.
I must however askk wht for the sake of not having to run MS on my mac is there still no support for HTML mails in mail for mac 5.1?
The ONLy reason I am running office 2010 for mac is for HTML mails. Now I know you can pull out your mad HTML skill to code a message as HTML ,but in the world we live in that is not always possible.
Please guys shed some light on this.
ArthurWhy have questions when they're not answerable? You're not talking to Apple, and even if you were, you wouldn't be talking to anyone who could comment on the question of why Mail does not have a WYSIWYG HTML editor built into it. That seems to be all you're asking.
Now, if you are looking for solutions, you can always compose your message in the HTML editor of your choice, load it up in Safari and then choose File -> Mail Contents of This Page. Be aware, though, that Outlook copes extremely poorly with HTML e-mail. -
Viewing html files in a folder...
Hi...
Anyone know how to view html files in a folder(s). What i mean is have them display as thumbnails, etc, so one can identify them visually rather than just by name? Abit like Bridge displays image files and even .psd and .ai files....

I was interested in this and had a Google around. It struck me that you can get stand alone file viewers and I thought there must be one for HTML? I came accross this: http://www.anixsoft.com/htmlview.html
Absolutely no idea what it might be like but I'm willing to give it a try at the weekend. Maybe there are others out there?

Googled too... but found nothing interesting... except what seems an old hack from a Microsoft guy who had a registry fix. But the link was very old...
Anyway, have downloaded the link you gave... thanks... it seems to work as a standalone... almost like an image viewer such as irfan or Xnview...

I received an e-mail today that was formatted in HTML, but Mail opened it in a window that was about 1" tall. I looked in vain for a way to expand the window so that I could see more of the e-mail, but couldn't.
Any ideas out there?LOL. I have no idea what happened here.
Does the issue persist after restarting the computer? Does it happen with this message only?
Do you have any Mail plug-ins or system utilities that could interfere with Mail? In the Finder, go to each of the following folders (if they exist). What do you see there?
/Library/InputManagers/
~/Library/InputManagers/
/Library/Mail/Bundles/
~/Library/Mail/Bundles/
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the folder path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the folder path there. -
Programs for embedding HTML e-mails??
I know there are a bunch of posts on HTML e-mails already,
and I've been searching Google all day, but there seems to be a
plethora of tutorials on how to *construct* an HTML email, but very
little on how to actually make an email out of it.
I have outlook 2003, and after inserting my HTML as text, and
it destroys every piece of code. Some might call that "optimizing"
for email, but I don't like programs messing with code when I don't
ask it to. If there's compatability issues I'll work that out
myself!
What solutions are there for doing this kind of integration
with more manual control? Microsoft products scare me in
general--seeing how Word and Outlook handle html. I'd like to find
a program that will make html emails they way I tell it to...I mean
what do the big boys use? I look at say the newsletters from Adobe
and the code seems clean, untouched, and way heavy on
somewhat-advanced css. How do they integrate these e-mails? I doubt
they're loading up Outlook and "inserting as text" their

They probably use a server to send there emails. I have used
Pensaworks
Spd E-Letter application (
http://www.pensaworks.com),
its just an ASP
application that upload and run on your webserver. You upload
your html,
select it for your email, and send it to your list of email
addresses.
Its really good.

How to view the dispatched mails in J2EE server???
Hi All,
I want to view how many mails have been sent from the J2EE server. May I know how we can see this in NetWeaver AS JAVA? As we can view in ABAP stack using SOST tcode, this will show the list of user who have been sent mails from SAP system for a particular criterion. However, I dont find any such option in J2EE server. I see a challenge here to confirm to the buusiness that how many mails have been sent from J2EE server.
Please help me finding out a way to this.

If you want to generate the e-file feature 40ACK, do it in our Customization client box (Golden box) & save the request & move to Quality & production.
Still if you need to workout only in Production, than with the help of Basis people you can get the Production change mode for 5 to 10 min time & can generate it. But mostly Basis people wont give us change mode for Production box ... with ur request they can do..try it.
Did u collected 4 quarter TAN no's for 2008 Quarter...if not collect it & generate it at a time.
