  • Viewing iPod photos on another computer?

    Hello -
I've scoured this discussion forum, but can not seem to find an answer to my question.
I am visiting my parents who have a 20 inch iMac. Is it possible for us to view the photos stored on my "iPod Photo" using this computer? The tiny screen on my iPod is too hard to see.
    Thanks -

    Hi Doogles
If you have the AV cable for the ipod, then the easiest thing to do is connect it up to a TV and enable a slide show on the iPod. I have found this works well although it uses a fair bit of power if you have a lot of photos to show.
    However,
In direct answer to your question (I am assuming you have the latest version of iTunes although you can do the same with earlier versions, the instructions would be slightly different) the following is what to do:
Connect your iPod and open iTunes (may open automatically)
Select your iPod in the source menu.
    You get the summary page.
    Select "enable disk use"
Click ok (remember that you will have to manually eject) then click apply in the bottom right.
Then slect the photo tab in iTunes.
You will see a box at the bottom of the photo tab which says "include full res photos"
    Check this
    Click apply
Let it copy the full res photos across.
    Eject your iPod
Now you can simply plug your ipod into the iMac via FW/usb. On doing so you will get an iPod icon on the desktop (itunes may also open and give a message saying that it is linkt to another computer do you want ot change this. Simply click no/cancel and close iTunes) as you would with a portable drive. Open this, locate the folder and bingo!
You can then just copy the folder into iPhoto on the iMac as IMHO this is much better for viewing photos than using preview.
Post back if you have any problems

  • My husband recently tried to sync my ipod to itunes and in the process he managed to loose all the photos I had stored on the ipod.  When I go to my pictures folder on my (Dell) laptop there is now a folder called ipod photo cache.  How do I view?

My husband recently tried to sync my ipod to itunes and in the process he managed to loose all the photos I had stored on the ipod.  When I go to my pictures folder on my (Dell) laptop there is now a folder called ipod photo cache.  How do I view these files? They are now show as ITHMB files!

Those photos taken or bumped photos should bi in the iPod's Camera Roll album
    - If they are in an iPod backup then restore from that backup. Note however, that the the backup that had the photos may have been overwritten by a subsequent backup that did hot have the photos on the iPod.See the restore topic of:
    iOS: How to back up
    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
    - Have you looked on the computer? Maybe they were imported to the computer and then deleted from the iPod. Since the photos were not synced to the iPod they are not in the iPod Photo Cache folder .

  • I cant view my photos and videos in my ipod

    hello peps!
can u pls help me..why can;'t i view my photos and videos in my ipod touch?
    many thanks!
    janna bebe

If you have a boot SSD, no way.
If you have a boot hard drive, not Filevaulted, you can STOP using the computer as it writes to the drive all the time.
You then have a choice of taking your computer to a local PC/Mac repair shop, and say you need "Data Rescue" to recover deleted files out of a deleted Guest Account, it will cost a few hundred dollars.
Or you can do it yourself, for a external hard drive (blank) and $100 Data Rescue type software.
Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
When you install OS X on a external drive, you won't be booting into OS X that has the deleted files, just the Recovery HD partiton that's seperate.

  • Random viewing of photos on iPod - help

I have a 20GB iPod photo and trying to look at my photo collection from a recent vacation.
If I view the photos on my iPod they display in what seems like a random sequence. I want to see them in chronological order. I have tried renaming all the photos so they are all in alphanumerical order, but they still display in a random order.
I also tried putting photos in subfolders, but that does not seem to work.
    Anyone else experiencing this problem?
    Peter

That's exactly what I've been fighting with since receiving my iPod photo 20GB 3 days ago.
I've noticed that if I just copy the photos from the camera to the PC and then sync with that folder, the order seems to be preserved; however if I try to edit the photos (e.g., rotate some of them), then after that the photos will show up randomly on the ipod. I've even tried using utilities to manually change the "creation date" to match the "modified date" or renaming the pictures so that they only contain numbers in the file name but none seems to work.
I believe it's a problem in the iTune. I'd like to see a solution to this problem.
BTW, I don't have a MAC - Winxp Pro only.

  • Ipod view RAW photos?

    Hi there, everyone.
Just wondering if the ipod and itunes is able to view RAW files? I shoot all RAW these days and I'd still love to take my photos with me on my ipod.
Before I could do this with my jpeg photos, just by pointing my pictures folder.
Now my RAW files are in my picture folder (all RAW now)....
So, is it possible to view RAW photo files on my ipod-video?
    thank you.

One other thing some cameras save two copies of an image, raw and jpeg, so you may already have jpegs to put on your ipod. But this depends on your camera.

  • Problems transferring photos from a Windows formatted iPod Photo to new G5

    Hi all,
I have recently come back from an overseas trip where I stored many many photos on an iPod Photo, using a PC with Windows XP. Now that PC is stuck in the repair shop - most likely not worth saving - and I have bought myself a G5 with OS X and iLife.
Basically iTunes can recognise the number of photos on the iPod, however I cannot view them when I open the Photos folder when in the disk drive. Two folders come up: 'Photo Database' and 'Thumbs'. (I hope I haven't lost the HI RES photos!)
I know there was one post that mentioned creating an empty folder then sync it using iTunes in order to transfer the photos from the ipod- I'm just a bit weary of losing all the photos seeing a warning message displays a similar note.
I thought Mac computers can recognise Windows formatted devices/docs. May it be that the iPod needs to be updated?
I'm calling out to all Mac-savvy users out there who may be generous enough with their time to solve this annoying issue.
    Cheers.

same thing happened to me. I purchased iPod Access from the internet (for about $15). This program will let you transfer your music and playlists from your iPod to your library

  • Does any one know of a way to sync movies from my itunes to old Ipod Photo

I have a 60GB Ipod Photo (the old brick type) and I want to use it to view movies that I have on my itunes. I tried to get my movies to sync to ipod photo but it just is not visible on my ipod although there is a playlist called movies in my Ipod Photo. When I connect my Ipod Photo to Itunes, the itunes shows the list of movies I have in my movies folder in my library, but I am unable to neither create a new playlist in ipod photo and copy all my movies nor can I copy all the movies I have in my library to ipod photo. Any simple to comples suggestions are welcome. Is it possible at all to make my ipod Photo store and play movies?

Is it possible at all to make my ipod Photo store and play movies?
No. Even though it has a Movies playlist, it isn't capable of playing video content.

  • How to view my photos in iCloud?

I upload some photos to iCloud and sent a mail to some friends. How can I myself look up the photos in iCloud?

    Hello there, Toelpel.
The following Knowledge Base article answers a number of questions in regards to Photo Stream:
    iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4486
    Particularly:
How do I view My Photo Stream?
iPhone, iPad or iPod touch: Your photos will appear in the My Photo Stream album in the Photos app. If you're using iOS, you can find your photos by tapping the Photo Stream tab, then tapping the My Photo Stream album. In iOS 5, your photos are in the Photo Stream album.
Mac: Your photos appear in the Shared albums section under iCloud in iPhoto 9.5 or Aperture 3.5. In earlier support versions of iPhoto and Aperture, your photos appear in the Photo Stream section. In iPhoto 9.4 or later or in Aperture 3.4 or later, open the My Photo Stream album.
PC using Windows 8.1: From the Start screen, click the down arrow in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud Photos app.
PC using Windows 8: From the Start screen, select iCloud Photos (or Photo Stream in iCloud Control Panel 2.0 to 2.12).
PC using Windows 7: Click the Windows Start button, then click Pictures. Click iCloud Photos or Photo Stream under the Favorites menu in the panel on the left. Double-click My Photo Stream to view your photos.
Apple TV: After signing in with your iCloud account, you can view your photos by choosing iCloud Photos or Photo Stream from the main menu (or selecting Internet > Photo Stream in Apple TV Software Update 5.0).
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Is the Canon Powershot S2 IS Digital Camera compatible with an ipod photo?

I'm going on a roadtrip to the northwest next month and was wondering if anyone knows whether the Canon Powershot S2 IS Digital Camera compatible with an ipod photo?

You cannot, with a PC or a Mac, transfer photos from a camera directly to the iPod. You need to download the images from the camera to your computer first, then move the pictures from the computer to the iPod.
Not quite sure about that - from the Apple Store (UK):
Simply plug the iPod Camera Connector into the iPod dock connector, plug your camera’s USB cable and watch your images make their way to the iPod, ready to view in a slide show!
Compatible with iPod with color display.
    Not compatible with iPod nano.
    Requires iPod software v1.1.
    See http://www.apple.com/ipod/compatibility/cameraconnector.html for supported cameras.

  • Viewing uploaded photos from ipad on PC

I want to see photos I took with my ipad mini on my laptop PC which is has windows 7.  I have download the icloud feature on it.  And I set up a beta library on my Mini ipad and think it uploaded my photos.  but I don't know what to do now to look at them.

    Hi rutabaga2,
I understand that you have activated iCloud Photo Library beta and you wish to view your photos on your Windows PC. Here is an article that details how to view these items:
You can also access all your photos and videos on your Mac or Windows computer, using the Photos app on iCloud.com. All your photos and videos are organized in the same way they are on your iOS devices.

  • Full resolution iPod photo option not available??

I want to transfer my photos to my iMac using the Full-resolution photo option so I can then transfer them back to other computers. The problem is the full resolution option in the iPod options is greyed out. I have enabled disk access as per the iPod tutorial. What else do I need to do?

    Unless I misunderstand your question....
The two places (ipod and mac) where you could view your library images are displayng two different sets of data.
The iPhoto library was in one format and the iPod has only (ipod formated) thumbnails on it.
The iPod thumbnails are kept seperate from your iPhoto Library. On my machine they are in my PICTURES folder in iPod Photo cache.
Since this is not the same set of files you could not restore it.
NOW IF YOU REALLY HAVE YOUR iPHOTO LIBRARY on your iPod you could move it back to your hard drive while in disk mode to the expected location but DO YOU REALLY HAVE THAT FOLDER or do you have the thumbnails of that folder?

  • Watching iPod photos on TV

Is it possible to view singles photos on TV using the Apple iPod AV cable or just slide shows?

You can view single photos. Just open the first photo and then use the forward and backwards buttons on the click wheel to advance to the next one or go back to the previous one.

  • HT201317 is there a way to view my photos if my phone was stolen and has been turned off?

is there a way to view my photos if my phone was stolen and has been turned off?

No. All you can do if you have Find My Phone setup is erase the device or lock it. It must be connected to Wi-Fi in order for the commands to take effect.
What To Do If Your iDevice or Computer Is Lost Or Stolen
    iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if Wi-Fi is enabled on the device. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:
This link, Re: Help! I misplaced / lost my iPhone 5 today morning in delta Chelsea hotel downtown an I am not able to track it. Please help!, has some good advice regarding your options when your iDevice is lost or stolen.
