Viewing items in Finder full screen

I seem to remember reading somewhere that when viewing finder items in cover flow (at least I think it was in cover flow), you could make the item appear full screen size, or at least very large.
Is this right? If so how?
Thanks!
DanK

I believe you mean the slide show. select some items in Finder (in any view not just coverflow) and enter commandoptiony. this will get you to the slideshow view. you can also use Quicklook by hitting the space bar.

  • Viewing RAW images in full screen - problem

I have begun to shoot some images in RAW mode with both my Nikon D70 and Nikon D200 - NEF format. I edit in Photoshop Elements, from withing iPhoto so that edited images are saved back to iPhoto.
When I view edited images in full screen mode from iPhoto, the edited version will be shown briefly and then the unedited version pops up. Anyone know what this is all about and can it be stopped?
Also, I am wondering why, when I right-click on a RAW image in iPhoto, one of my choices is "Reprocess RAW" whether I have edited it or not. And there is no choice to "Revert to original" as in non-RAW images.
    Marion

I think you are referring to minor color and other editing done within iPhoto. I am talking about cropping and other major editing done in Photoshop Elements. This edited RAW image, by default, is saved back to iPhoto - but NOT as JPEG - where I can view it along with other RAW images I have not processed in any way.
Yet, both edited and unedited images offer me the same option when I right click for the contextual menu - "Reprocess RAW." This is the place where "Revert to Original" appears when this menu is accessed from a JPEG image.
When I use iPhoto edit, which I almost never do, it does indeed save the image as "JPEG image (from Nikon RAW)." And indeed I do then have the option to Revert to Original.
Reprocess RAW works in the same way as Revert to Original. It was just mysterious to me why I was offered the opportunity to redo something I'd not done in the first place.
    Thanks for your help.

I've imported an iPhoto library from a disc to my iPhoto 09 account,
    What exactly did you do?
Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

  • Can not properly view cover flow in full screen in external display

My mac is the new Mac book pro 15.4 inch screen and I connect my mac pro to external display e.g. Samsung LCD monitor 24 inches.
The bug is that I can not PROPERLY view full screen (in external display) for some application e.g. iTunes, and Front Row.
    - When I use iTunes, I can not properly view Cover Flow view in full screen (in the external display screen) except the case of mirror display.
    - For Front Row, I can not view full screen in external display but only my mac display.
However, for other DVD or VDO players, I can view movie on external display in full screen and I still be able to do other works on my mac screen.
Please let me know how to solve it.

  • Once I've burned a DVD by exporting photos so a pc can read them, is there a way to view them in iPhoto full screen without having to open each one in preview?

You would have to import them to iPhoto, iPhoto cannot work with images that are not in its library.
You might try some of the other viewers out there.

  • Bad video quality of final product when viewing on computer in full screen

It looks like a picture does when you blow it up and it's a low quality image. Everything I'm reading says the problem would be with the video capture...but I have the same bad quality when I'm viewing the menu! Around all the text on the menu, it's fuzzy and same with my video on the menu. So are my video clips in the movie itself.
I have tried playing it on Windows Media Player, the apple DVD program, and WinDVD and I get the same problem when I view it on full screen.
I assume my family will mostly be playing it on a TV. Do you think it will play properly or worse on a TV? I don't actually have a DVD player myself to test it out. Any suggestions on why this could be happening?
    Thanks!

when I started using iDVD, one of the hardest adjustments for me to make was video quality on TV screen vs on computer screen. (I am used to satellite to S-Video TV and HD screens on my computer.)
My camera it a miniDV, and playback via SVideo to an Svideo TV screen is awesome.
I was sorely disappointed when I played the same tape back on the computer. It was grainy/fuzzy, etc. Same with the DVD I made.
But when I played the DVD back on the TV, the image quality was the same as when I connected the camera to the TV - crisp, sharp, video and text.
I've since burned numerous DVDs, and the result is always the same - blah on the computer, sharp on the TV.
As someone else in this thread stated, the average TV is low-res compared to the computer screen.
If I recall the spec correctly, standard NTSC is 240 line, SVideo is up to 500 line. HD is 720 line and higher...ergo an NTSC source is roughly 1/2 the resolution of the typical CPU screen, or 1/3 the resolution of low end HD screens. So yes, NTSC output on your computer screen will always be fuzzy compared to your TV screen.
I think you will likely be very pleased with the DVD when you playback on your TV.

  • Cursor Disappears After I Return From VIewing Web Video In Full Screen Mode

After I view a video from a web site in full screen mode using Safari v6.0.1 or Firefox v15.0.1, I escape to normal screen mode. When I then try to move the cursor using the built-in trackpad, I am unable to see the cursor anywhere on the screen. I do, however, see some artifacts of the cursor's movement in the text contained in the window and in the text of the menu bar as the cursor passes them.
What can I do to eliminate this "inconvenience"?

  • Viewing EXIF data in full screen edit mode

is it possible to view the EXIF data when in full screen mode?
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I think the full screen mode is the problem. You can't even drag an image from there to an application in the dock to view extended EXIF information like I outline next.
To view more EXIF info than iPhoto will show for an image, download Simple EXIF Viewer for Mac OS X. Put it in your applications folder and then open the app. When the app is in the dock, click and hold on it and scroll to "keep in dock".
You can now drag an image from the iPhoto Library viewing window on top of the EXIF viewer. The viewer window will open and give you the EXIF info for the image.

  • How to view iPhoto book pages full screen

I have made a book in the latest version of Aperture. Now I want to view the pages of my book in full screen view - the book, not the individual pics. It would be great if I could make the book pages into a slideshow too. I can't work it out - HELP!!!

    Welcome to the forum.
It's a bit of round robin, but you can make it a slide show. Go to File >> Print Book. In the print dialog click the PDF button in the lower left corner and choose "Save PDF to Aperture". This will bring up the import PDF Import dialog. Choose either Tiff or JPEG, and either chose a project or create a new one to save it in. Voila! You now have images of the pages to make a slideshow with. You still may want to crop the borders off the pages.

  • Can't view YouTube videos in full screen mode

This is a strange one. This problem is only happening on my son's account on his Mac Mini. We have several user accounts on that machine. On my account, I can watch a video on YouTube and click on the "full screen" icon to watch it full screen, but on his account clicking on the full-screen icon does nothting. I did a system update and found a new version of Safari and installed it. Still no fix (for him). Installed the latest flash plug-in for Safari, but the problem still persists. I assume it has something to do with some personal settings? I looked in the ~/Library/Safari folder, but not sure what to blow away.
    Any help would be appreciated.
