Viewing keynotes on a pc

hi guys.. i just got a mac so im kind of new to it, but i tried to save a document i did on keynotes and tried to open it on a windows xp and it wouldnt open.. is that possible to do documents on iwork 08 and view it on a pc?

You will need to "export" your keynote file for use on a windows PC. There are several choices that are available, including power point, PDF, and quicktime movies that are compatible.
Good luck...

  • Viewing keynote presentations on Apple TV!

Is it possible to view keynote presentations on AppleTV? I know one way to do it would be to convert the slides to images and view the show that way. I want to know if you can view the keynote presentation on AppleTV as it was created on your MAC?

    No that's not possible.
You could probably output a movie of the presentation and play that.

  • Text frames are missing in presentation view (keynote 6.0)

I added a frame to a text via text>layout. They are shown in the navigator view but not in the presentation. What can I do?

    Hi all,
I called apple support. The person I spoke with suggested that I use the prior version of Keynote (from i-work 09). That seems to have done the trick for me.
I believe that the programmers for Keynote are looking into this (they asked for my presentation -- but I coudn't send it due to privacy concerns). I hope they manage to resolve this. I'll begin using the newer version once they do.

  • Cannot view Keynote slides except in slideshow or slide navigator

I'm using Keynote '09 version 5.0.3 (791) on Macbook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo with OS X 10.6.3. Been working fine ... always. Today I installed the latest Apple update and ... bad times. Firstly, many of my settings (screensaver, desktop, etc.) have changed. But the main problem I have found is that Keynote is now unusable ... I can see the slides when in slideshow and I can see them in the slide navigator down the left but I CANNOT SEE THE SLIDE CONTENT IN THE MAIN WINDOW which means that I cannot create or edit slide content. I've checked a whole load of old Keynote files and am convinced it is not a problem with any of the files (they open fine on other computers). The same happens when I try to create a new Keynote presentation ... I can create a new slide and enter content on it (although I cannot see what I am typing) and I can then view the slide in slideshow. I'm thinking that the latest Apple update has broken something. I tried to submit a ticket to Apple ... but was told I need to pay to do this. Can anybody help please?

    PROBLEM SOLVED !!!
By the way, I tried creating a new user account and that didn't help. I spent about 9 hours in total searching these forums and the web for a solution. I spoke to all my tech friends for help. I tried everything, including repairing disk permissions, screen resolutions, etc. In the end we figured out that the update must have corrupted - possibly because I downloaded and installed it while within a corporate network. So I downloaded it again (making sure I had the latest combo version from the Apple web site) and then installed it again from home. Now everything is working fine!
So my recommendation to anyone who has the same problem ... backup everything and then back it up again; get the latest combo update from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1017 and only download and run it when you are not in a corporate environment or going through proxy (just in case that makes a difference).
Thanks to everyone for trying to help me and I hope this helps you

  • Opening or viewing Keynote file on a PC

I do not own a mac, and I have been given (via email) a keynote file for a presentation I have to give tomorrow.  (Of course, I never checked to see if I could open the file, so now I'm kicking myself that instead of practicing the presentation, I'm still trying to open it.)  There will be no mac at the event, I have tried quicktime with no avail, and I cannot reach the person who sent me the presentation to ask them if they can convert it on their end.
Is there a way I can convert it to be viewed and presented from a PC?  Thanks!

There are three low probability possibilties in the time you have:
    1. If you have an iPad or can borrow a friend's iPad with Keynote intalled this may work
    2. Visit a friend who has a Macbook or iMac with Keynote installed and convert the file to a Powerpoint
    3. Visit the nearest Apple Store and see what can be done there

  • Keynote, can you open / view keynote files / attachments?

Does anyone know if Keynote attachments can be viewed by the iPhone....
    MULTIPLE...   Mac OS X (10.4.10)
    MULTIPLE...   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

we are implementing  BusinessObjects 4.0 and in the process of documenting road map for promotion. BusinessObjects does not have Import Wizard so we will be using LCM for all our promotions.
Since we are not able to determined whats inside the biar files by looking at the binary files, is there any way using LCM we can figure out whats laying inside the Biar file? before doing the promotion.
I am assuming if its not possible than we are basically trusting the developer, and need to keep good documentation of this process?

  • Possible to view Keynote files / presentations as read only ?

Keynote has been a wonderful study tool: I can tap the screen on my iPad2 or iPhone4, and the next bit of information appears (using the "builds" effects to make new info appear, eg: answers to questions). It's just like flash cards, but on an Apple mobile device.  However, the temptation is always there to keep editing the text (ie: cut/copy-paste, and break up more paragraphs into question-answer format).
With the recent software upgrades (including a Keynote upgrade), is there now a way to make Keynote files "read-only," once they're on an iPad2 or iPhone4?  Last year I tried to make my files "read-only" on my Mac desktop, but when I downloaded them onto my iPad2, they were still editable.
Or, does anybody know of any other app or program that can display Keynote on an iPad, with all its "builds" and effects, but in a read-only format so that it can't be edited in the iPad/iPhone?

    Hi ,
Please try with the following code in the feeder class in GET_DATA method( after  ct_data is assigned ) and check if it works.
       field-SYMBOLS: <fs_field> like line of CT_FIELD_USAGE.
       loop at CT_FIELD_USAGE ASSIGNING <FS_FIELD>.
         case <FS_FIELD>-NAME.
         when 'FIELD_NAME'.
             <FS_FIELD>-READ_ONLY = 'X'.
         ENDCASE.
    CV_FIELD_USAGE_CHANGED = abap_true.

  • Keynote '09 Light table view causes crash on Retina MacBook Pro

I just discovered a problem with Keynote '09 (V. 5.1.1, build 1034) on my MacBook Pro 15'' Retina (2.7 GHz Intel Core i7; 16 GB RAM, 1600 MHz DDR3, under Lion version 10.7.4).   More often than not, when I go into "Light Table" view, Keynote suddenly crashes with a dialog box quickly flashing on and off, so rapidly that it cannot be read.  The only way out of Keynote when this happens is to Force Quit.   This does not happen on any of my other Macs (MB Air, iMac, older MB Pro).  I suspect it has something to do with the Retina display model.   Any advice?

More about my post:  Actually, I since discovered the problem occurs on another computer running Snow Leopard and appears to be unique to this one Keynote document.   I solved my own problem by copying the screens from the allegedly-corrupt document to a new document.  There is no problem with Light Table mode in the new document.   Never had this problem with Keynote before, which I've been using more than any almost any other app since 2006 in connection with my work.

  • Viewing old version Keynote file on iPhone?

Can iPhone view Keynote files generated by old version of Keynote?
I have Keynote v. 2.0.2. I emailed the files (including a one-page file to test) to myself using gmail but they were all unreadable. Using FileMagnet resulted in the same results.
    Thanks for any suggestion.

Do you have another email account on your iPhone you can try? Just in case the Gmail server is somehow affecting the attached file.
I know the iPhone will read files created with iWork '08.

  • Is there a free Keynote Reader that non-owners can use to view?

Is there a free *Keynote Reader* that non-owners can use to view Keynote presentations without having to convert into PowerPoint?

    For Windows users, no.
For Mac users, anyone can download the iWork trial and view a .key file. Even after the trial is up, you can still open and playback .key files.

  • Possible to view presentations with embedded clips  on the ipad from an external wifi  drive?

    Hello,
first of all I am happy to have joined this community, my name is Chris from Germany.
I am wondering if this setting is possible:
I have bought an external wifi drive (Seagate Satellite Goflex) as well as the iPad4.
I am giving lectures (powerpoint and keynote presentations containing lots of embedded video clips).
Now I would like to show these presentations with my iPad connected to the Wifi drive.
You have to download a special Seagate App on the iPad to be able to see the data on the external wifi drive - I have managed to open the powerpoint files in the App (unfortunately keynote files are not supported by the Seagate App) but when I open them with keynote or goodreader the embedded media will always be removed.
Is this the end of the story or are there any solutions (i.e. with other hardware devices or software)?
Have a nice New Years Eve and thanks in advance,
    Chris

    yes and no ...
    I have figured that out:
First of all: you can`t just view presentations on an external device without importing them into your iPad (at least when you plan to show slides with embedded clips) - goodreader, filebrowser, dropbox ... just show you "static" slides.
When you import a ppt-presentation into keynote all the hyperlinks, embedded clips ... are gone - no chance.
But ... in keynote you are able to "embed" video clips when you drag and drop them directly into the slide alowing "copy video into the document" as well (that is "vital") - the files are getting larger but you don`t have to add a clip when you transfer it to another device (i.e. the iPad) - they are "fixed" in the document..
Now seagate goflex has the problem that you just can`t open/view keynote presentations - but there is a solution:
hacksatellite firmware. When you install that you can go into keynote, activate WebDav, import a keynote file from the external drive, edit it and send it back to the external drive - so: import (can`t live without that), show or edit the presentation, copy it again to the external device and delete the presentation in the iPad (to save storage) is the way you can get the optimum from the iPad at the moment.
Correct me if there is any other more comfortable solution.
    Thanks for your reply Daniel,
    Christian

  • Keynote presentations on Apple TV

I know I can't use Apple TV to view Keynote presentations ... but I want to. Any ideas on how I might fudge this and make it happen?

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
The keynote presentations are usually available for streaming to your web browser shortly after the event. They also make podcasts of these events a little later than that, sometimes it's a day or two and sometimes it's more.
Use the podcast section on your Apple tv to locate such events.
    No fudging required
i suspect the OP meant Keynote as in the app, rather than Apple keynote events !

  • Doubt on downloading keynote from appstore

hi...actually i downloaded *iwork 09 trial pack from apple website* (before mac app store was released)...30 days got over.....now can i download only keynote application from mac app store....will ther any problem...? ( actually i have removed iwork 09 trial pack from my mac using app cleaner)....will ther be any problem plz tell me.......plz reply guys...help me

    Welcome to the discussions, nag007.
When you go to the Mac App Store and view Keynote, does it show that it's installed, or does it show that it's available for purchase? If it shows that it's avIlable, then you've successfully and properly removed it, and should be able to download keynote with no problems.

  • Video out from iPhone 3GS to TV.

Can I use the standard (3 phono plugs on the end) video out lead I already have to view keynote presentations from my iPhone 3GS on my TV/Projector?

    Same problem here.
I can't get any video out of my faithful iPhone 3GS running iOS 6.xx.
I have been browsing Apple discussions for solutions and most of them seem to point out to a faulty Video Composite cable. This is not my case.
I can rule that out 100%.
Old iPhone 3G running ios 3.1.2 works just fine as well as does iPhone 4, with the same cable.
I have tried with a friend's TV and cable and iPhone 3GS and we have identical issues.
(different cables and phones, same issue).
Please note all testing has been done with genuine Apple Video composite cables.
So this points out clearly to a iphone iOS issue combined with hardware.
It appears that starting from iOS > 5.0 video output has been disabled on earlier iPhone models prior to 4.
It would be nice if Apple could issue a Knowledge Base document on the issue as that would save many people further testing and waste of time.
This document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4108? isn't really complete enough as it stops at iphone 4.
Has anybody the ultimate answer on this issue?
    Are there any known work-arounds?
    Thanks and regards
    Pieter

  • IPad + projector

Hi Can i able view keynote presentation on projector too and if yes what is the resolution

Depends on the projector  video input connection? The are three types of video connector cables that can be brought in the Apple store. Check your projector to see which one you need.
