Viewing Library

I exported an album slideshow to iDVD and can no longer view my library with thumbprints. I can only see the first or last photo and have to page through one by one.
Every album I open opens with a slideshow.
HELP!

Used to be, I'd select an album, and I'd see all thumbnails plus a "film strip." So I could arrow on each one and advance or retreat.
That sounds like when you open a photo in the iPhoto's 'Edit in Main Window' mode. This is when Show/Hide Thumbnails is active in the View menu. At the bottom of the window are edit tools: Constrain, Crop, Enhance, Red-Eye, etc, with a "Done" button at the right. To get there you have to either double-click a photo, click the Edit button in the lower toolbar, or Right-click (control-click) a photo and choose Edit from the contextual menu.
Unless your iPhoto was somehow stuck in Edit mode. And now it appears to be stuck in Slideshow Play. To get unstuck, try deleting iPhoto's preference file. Quit iPhoto. In the Finder, navigate to Macintosh HD/ Users/ (your user name)/ Library/ Preferences/ com.apple.iPhoto.plist. Drag that file to the Trash. Launch iPhoto and select an album. Select a photo and click the Edit button (next to Rotate) in the lower toolbar. This should give you the thumbnail film strip at the top of the page.
After deleting the preference file you will have to reset iPhoto's preferences back to your liking. To get the edit view that you prefer, open the Preferences, General, and select "Edit photo: In main window". Now when you double-click on a thumbnail you will get the view that you are used to.

Gray cover/photo strike thro' icon & no title in Adobe Viewer Library

Hi there, Built a folio in InDesign whilst signed in with Adobe ID. In content viewer library, both the folio that's gotten thru the cable & the folio gotten through acrobat.com, do not display the Folio title, and have grey covers with photo strke through icons on.
I looked up possible problem, and it could have been ipad memory, so deleted content viewer, restarted ipad, reinstalled content viewer, signed in... same issue.
I saved the cover as a jpg when importing the article into the folio.
Also, I'm not getting little thumbnails of the articles in the folio builder, just white empty thumbnails. May this be the issue?
However, when I tap on the folio in Content viewer, everything in the folio works great! Yipee!
Any ideas on getting the cover & title to come up in the library? I need to share the folio with a client, but would like to get this sorted first.

After creating the folio, select it and open the folio builder panel
menu. Choose folio properties and fill out all the information there and
upload the cover images.

How to create hyperlink inside Folio to Viewer library?

Wanting to add a link inside my folio that when tapped, takes the user into the Apps Viewer Library.
Example would be a subscription button on an article page inside the folio, when tapped opens up the Viewer library so that the users can see the subscription tile in the upper left-hand corner.
Food Network magazine has this example - image one: user taps the "Subscribe Today" button. Image two: Users gets redirected back into Viewer library.
How do I set this hyperlink up?

One way to do this is to create a button that points to the app's Optional URL Scheme. For example, the DPS Tips URL Scheme is "com.bringhurst.dpstips." When I create a button with a Go To URL action that specifies "com.bringhust.dpstips://" tapping the button opens the app's library. You can see an example of this in DPS Tips > Advanced Folios > Advanced Linking.

Media Manager Flex View Library upload crash

The Flex View library upload option crashes whenever I try to upload anything. I have Mac OS X Lion and am trying to sync my iPhoto library Which is 20 Gb ie well below the 32Gb limit. As soon as the upload starts the program quits unexpectedly. Anyone have the same problem and an answer? Sometimes there is a partial upload before the crash, but never more than a few minutes.

I have a similiar problem with my Mac Lion. After selecting files to upload (sync) the program just hangs. I have been able to successully sync with a PC, but the Mac program just won't do it and I tried many things.

Is it possible to view library folders in descending order?

I am increasingly using shoot dates in folders and files as a way of organising and seraching my archive. If I add the date to the folders in the library section how do I views this in a descending order (newest shoot at the top)
I know that you can change the view order of individual files within folders but I can't find options for the folders themselves.

Adobe Content Viewer, library downloading issue

I have the free version of the folio building tools currently with acrobat.com as I test the capabilities of the publishing suite for our company. I updated the folio tools, can sign in, create a folio, and it appears OK in the shared workspace on acrobat.com. I sign into the Ipad and open up the Adobe Content Viewer app. I sign in and it gives me the message downloading library. Here is where the problem happens. After it is finished loading, nothing updates. I can't get the folio to load into the Ipad and neither can my workmate who I shared the file with. I made sure the app was completely up to date.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Is this a common problem?

I just worked with another customer reporting the same circumstances, and it turned out that, as part of their migration from prerelease to their purchase of DPS, they had not provisioned the Adobe ID that they used to build their custom Viewer app. I need to know the name of your company, and the Adobe ID used to build your app, to determine if this is the cause of your failures.
Alternatively, if you have not yet purchased DPS, then your failures are due to the shut down of the prerelease program.

I just work for the company so I would not be able to get a hold of their Apple ID. We have the Creative Suite and I am working in InDesign CS5 with the updated folio tools extension.
I wanted to confirm that because the prerealease program is shut down, those with the free acrobat.com account can not publish a folio to the Adobe Content Viewer? Because a few weeks ago, we could. I can still see my folio in the shared workspace on acrobat.com

If the library magazines are pdfs, you can. If not you cannot. If these are epubs supported by Adobe’s Digital Edition software, then you have to use a 3rd party application like Overview or BlueFire.

Content Viewer library on iPad doesn't load

What should I do when the library gets stuck at 'Updating Library...' with the spinner spinning but nothing happening? I've tried signing out and back in, signing into a different Adobe ID, quitting the app and restarting it, restarting the iPad, and uninstalling the app and re-installing it. I'm bored of this now. Any suggestions, please?

A workaround for this is to delete the Adobe Viewer from your iPad. All of its data will be deleted but when you reinstall Adobe Viewer by synching your Apps from your computer, the folios that are currently in your Folio Builder will be sitting there ready for you to download again. The folios that you no longer want and have deleted from your Folio Builder will be gone.

How to view Library folder on external hard-drive user

Dear all,
Wanted your assistance with something.
Backstory: I have an External Hard-Drive which I used to use for Time Machine. I use it no longer (I use a different Ex-HDD) however I still have all my old back-ups on it.
Problem: There's a file I need to obtain from a user profile on one of the old back-ups, and to retrieve it I need to access the Library folder which is usually hidden unless toggled visible. Usually this is no issue as I can access it in the "Go To" option in Time Machine...but because I can't use this old drive with Time Machine, I need to find a way to do this manually.
Anyone know any solutions?

Viewer Library Update Errors

Starting this morning, my sideloaded mutli-folio libraries are failing to update. I just get a spinning "Library Updating" icon in the middle of the screen and after about 2 minutes of spinning, I get a error "Connot Update Library An error has occurred."
Anyone else having these problems? These builds were working last night.

In 1.1 it appears that you can only do it from grid view.

No thumbnails when trying to view Library

I have no idea how it happened, but now when I try to open the library I can't see the thumbnails of all pictures naymore, but rather see the first picture enlarged on the right. If I scroll with the scroll button of my mouse, other pictures appear on the right, still enlarged. Where did my thumbnails go? Now it became mighty hard to find a particular picture I need...

At the lower right hand side of the iPhoto Window is a slider. Slide it to the left. Does that help?

How to clean Content Viewer Library on iPad

All of its data will be deleted but when you reinstall Adobe Viewer by synching your Apps from your computer, the folios that are currently in your Folio Builder will be sitting there ready for you to download again. Ipa test app doesn't appear in my viewer library

I have downloaded the test .ipa and added it to itunes for my iPad, the icon appears on my ipad but when I tap to launch it takes me to the library screen which is empty, the app doesn't show in the library.
What am I doing wrong?

Make sure you check the Adobe id which you specify as Title id in app builder. Specify the same Adobe ID you use to create folios for this title. Also, that the Adobe ID is assigned the Application role in the Account Administration tool. The Title ID for the app can be different from the Adobe ID used to sign in to DPS App Builder.

I used to get a running memory total at the bottom of the itunes window, how do I get it back?
