Viewing live streams in Internet Explorer

I'm using Quicktime Broadcaster to generate a live .sdp feed and play through Streaming Server. I've tried embedding HTML code on a web site to view the feed (using the QT plugin rather than the player) and I can view the feeds ok on a Mac in Safari but all I get in IE8 is the QT logo
Any help?

Hi...
I wanna know if you did it. I'm a studant and I have some interests to learn how can I show a streaming video through internet.
A couple weeks ago I did two applications make message exchanges by sockets.. I think is something like this. But I wanna know how to get de webcam image and transform it in a stream of bytes to send it to another application.. so the socket server must pass that bytes to the applet in Internet Explorer... I think so... xD
C ya.

  • Baby Monitor - view live streaming video on iPhone

I am in search of a webcam (to use as a baby monitor) that I can use with my iPhone to view live streaming video from...
Can someone please recommend a webcam (ideally with a low-light setting, because babies like to sleep in the dark;) and a capable app from the app store that would help me achieve this?
    Thanks!

That is going to be a very custom app. I really doubt it will be in the app store. I understand the idea. I have a monitor myself that has video. I would have to hook up that video monitor to an input device on a computer networked in the home. For me this would entail video monitor output to a camcorder to firewire to imac. could get quite complicated. Even doing this much could encounter problems like each interface having to be set up correctly. once that is done, you might be able to use the bonjour networking to get from iphone to imac. all of this is hypothetical though. interesting scenario though

  • Browser video stream in internet explorer - Windows phone 8.1

I want to create a webpage that can stream a LIVE video broadcast. And I want it to work with Internet explorer in windows phone 8.1.
    Is this possible?
I was thinking about using jwplayer but I don't think it works with Windows Phone
    any ideas?

    Hello,
Are you writing an app using the WebView or just creating a web page to be displayed in IE on the phone?
The WebView hosts IE so this answer should work for you either way but... The WebView supports the HTML 5 "video" tag. The platform supports a limited number of streaming formats natively including Microsoft's propriety implementation of RTSP and
RTSP over HTTP. If the video source is being streamed in either of these formats you can simply point the "video" tag at the server and you should be good to go.
If you want to support a different streaming protocol such as HLS or DASH you will need to create or find a 3rd party
Media Source Extensions plug in for the "video" tag that supports the protocol that you are using on the server. If you are severing Microsoft's Smooth Streaming content you may be able to use the
Smooth Streaming Client SDK for Windows Phone 8.1 although I'm not sure if the HTML5 support is available outside of a native HTML5 app.
    I hope this helps,

  • Active Report Viewer not working in Internet Explorer 10

We have many legacy applications developed using ASP and VB(InterDev). Our organisation is moving to use Internet Explorer 10 in the near future.
We had a IE10 compatibility testing for our legacy applications and we observed that the applications using Active Report Viewer to generate the reports are not working. Applications works perfectly fine with the older version of Internet Explorer.
We looked for the various workarounds but we did not succeed.
Some application does nothing when we click on a button to generate the report but some applications throws the below error:
    "ActiveX
control failed to load! -- This control is required to use the Address Book and Attachment features.  Please check your browser security settings and/or contact PC Support to install the digitally signed control."
We will be glad if we get any assistance on this issue.

  • Works in applet viewer but not in internet explorer

I origionaly posted this on devshed. I got 55 views but no replies. It seems to be a common problem to which no one knows the answer. Surprise me :O)I'm sure this is a really common but there seems to be surprisinly litttle on the web about it.
I developed a game applet a while ago in applet viewer and am now thinking about putting it on my web site. However I have found that it doesn't work in internet explorer. I can browse other sites using Java fine. There is clearly just something about my applet that ie doesn't like.
Does anyone have any suggestions? What sort of things upset ie?
All help very much apreciated, you are very nice people
    Flo.

There must be some thing that tells you it isn't working. You should tell us so we don't have to guess. Does the browser hang? Do you get an error? Did you try opening the Java Console to see if there were any messages? I am guessing that your code is using something that the security level of an Applet does not allow (but appletviewer does allow).

  • Cannot view quicktime media in Internet Explorer on Windows 7 without admin rights

I have several workstations that are all running Windows 7 64bit with IE 9, fully patched, and Quicktime 7.76.80.95.  I cannot get streamed quicktime media to open in the quicktime plugin unless I right-click and start IE as admin.
I have googled this issue and found references to mentions of this issue, but nothing that seems to resolve it.  Instead of playing the media, it shows the question mark over the quicktime logo.  If IE is started as admin, it works.  I tried the script mentioned in this posting Quicktime problem and it does not fix the issue in this case.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi dwaynelewis, IE 9 is over 3 years old so it appears the computer is not, so called, fully patched? Windows 7 updates from Microsoft will install IE 11.
This seems to be a permissions issue. What user accounts have administrator permissions with full control? For Internet Explorer and QuickTime? The one that is initially being used to log on with, appears to not.

  • Etting a white screen when viewing slide show using internet explorer

When I or my clients view a slide show I created in Lightroom 1.4 using Internet Explorer we often get a white screen instead of the slide show. When we view the same using Firefox it works perfectly. I have downloaded Adobe flash reader and it doesn't help. I am including a link to my site if anyone would like to check it out. http://www.ajs-photography.com/ViewWedding.html . Is there a setting in Lightroom that I'm missing or something wrong with the way IE is configured. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Allen

    Hi:
I had the same issue with white full screen but no more thanks to the talented person that post the help.
Go on this page to "cannot view full screen flash videos" and follow the instructions or go on the video to watch and do right click, go to setting and uncheck the enable hardware acceleration, close, go the video to watch run it and click on full screen, enjoy

  • Using iPad to view live streaming video?

    Hi,
I currently got a gig recording game day videos for a local school. Right now, I'm recording with a panasonic digital camera with a firewire 800 cable going straight to my Macbook Pro. I am using iMovie right now to record it "live."
We saw an other school have a similar setup, but they are also able to stream the video to their coach's iPad. I've asked their video guy, but he didn't want to share his setup. Is there a software or additional hardware that is needed to make this possible? Any advice would be great, and thanks for your help in advance.
    Cheers!

ah the old blue lego. i think means that the video/site requires flash. which the ipod touch doesn't have. and as of yet is not available.

  • Live streaming to internet

My company needs a large number of VC3 equipped computers but we need to stream MPEG4. Can VC3 be modified to do this?

Are you using Flash Media Live Encoder or Adobe Media Encoder?
FMLE supports video coming in raw format. Most of the cameras gives HD sizes in HDV format which is MPEG 2 encoded data. Whereas Cameras gives output till 480i in DV format which is raw format. So thats why since FMLE can detect only Raw input so it is able to take input in DV format only which gives output at 480i.

  • Sites that stream on Internet Explorer only

I am finding more and more video / audio streaming sites will only work on IE and Windows. Trying to connect with Firefox or Safari produces a pop-up that says only IE on Windows is supported, probing further and the site usually cites Rights Management issues.
These sites are legal and either free or on (paid for) subscription, does anyone know of a solution that does not involve installing Windows via bootcamp?
If this has been discussed before a link would be usefull.

There is a way to run XWindows based IE 6 and IE 7 from:
    http://www.kronenberg.org/ies4osx/
CrossOver may also offer a way without installing Windows to run the correct version of Internet Explroer.
Regardless for all these sites, they need to be informed about MPEG-4 video as a more open source for video that all platforms can use. If they are interested in reaching the widest audience possible, they need to consider this. Furthermore, Microsoft has a program called Silverlight that allows some previous PC only video of Netflix to display on a Mac.

    Hi Malathi
This is more of a IE > Flash > Portal conflict which can be simply ignored. It has no impact on SPM. Infact you wont experience this if you use some other browser.

  • Audio only when using iPad with Safari: can I view live streaming video via Safari?

I only get audio on streaming broadcasts when I click on the AirPlay Icon in the progress bar? Can anyone help me get the video to display as well?

Websites have to have content in compatible format AND also need to allow video streaming - if both conditions are not met then Airplay will often give sound only.
If iPad 2 try turning on full mirroring (Home button twice, swipe all way to right, Airplay and set Mirroring slider to on).

  • WRT54G ver 6. Buffering problems when viewing live streaming Video!

Whenever my computer is connected to the computer through linksys WRT54G router, Windows Media Player do a lot of buffering. (after every 10 seconds or so). But when I connect to the internet directly through the cable modem, I don't see any buffering and I can watch the video without any problem.
    Any advice!

I've tried most suggestions with no luck.  I've got a WRT54G v6 router with the 1.01.1 updated firmware.  Videos from MSNBC, CNN, CBS, etc... just don't want to run smoothly- and this is on a wired connection to the router.  All 3 computers hooked to router have this problem.  Choppy video or the video stops and the audio continues- or than everything pauses.  I have decent connect speeds- avg test is:
9.66Mbps or 1.20MBytes/sec... I switched back to my old Linksys wired router and the videos played fine-connections speeds were consistent as well.  I use the wireless access for a Wii. All computers are wired into the router.  I am figuring it MUST be the router since my old router makes the problem go away...but I need the wireless access on the WRT54G for my Wii.  I did not notice if this problem was there before I upgraded the firmware since I did the upgrade when I installed the new router.  Thanks for any advice.

  • How to view .chm file in internet explorer

    Hi Friends,
I have one .chm file with me and I have to add this file as a help file for my application.
When I tried to open this file in browser its not opening properly. Can anyone suggest how to open this .chm file in proper format?
    Regards,
    Wahid

.CHM is a microsoft compressed html suite. It is not directly openable in a browser. You can open it up in the windows html help application usually by just double-clicking on the .CHM file. You can also extract the HTML from the CHM using the html help app (hh.exe).
