how can I view lyrics on my ipod. I got color screen 20GB ipod.

there certainly are programs that allow you to put lyrics even on a color ipod. the only one I could find with a very short search was called iStar Composer, sadly not freeware, but it does work with mac. if you look harder than I did you could find a free program.

Viewing lyrics on iPod Touch

I've added lyrics through the song info option on iTunes and synced my iPod touch. I know the manual says to tap the album cover while the song plays - and apparently along with the scrubber bar, the song's lyrics would appear.
Hasn't happened, does anyone know why?

When you say it doesn't happen, do you mean that the lyrics AND scrubber bar (and shuffle/repeat options) don't show up, or everything but the lyrics shows up?

Lyrics on Ipod Photo??

I've recently added lyrics to my library in ITunes, but when I updated my Ipod Photo 60GB, I can't seem to get any lyrics on the actual Ipod. Does anybody know if you are able to view lyrics on Ipod Photo, or is it only the new Video Ipod that supports that?

You can view lyrics on your iPod, but not in the way that you wish to do so. Here is the alternative way. It may be of some help, but it is far from perfect for your purpose.

I can't view lyrics on my ipod vidoe 60G

this is my first ipod, and i am very happy with it except i can't viewing lyrics on my ipod.i pressed the center button when it is on the Now Playing screen, but it won't show the lyrics.my iTunes can see the all the lyrics, but my ipod.i went to apple store and made a appointment with their genius. after waiting for 40 mins,no one help me, then i left.

While on the Now Playing window
of the 5G iPod, if you press the center button twice,
the lyrics come up.
Though, of course, you first need to enter the song's lyrics in iTunes.

to automatically fetch song lyrics off the Internet,
but as the OP uses Windows, I don't know of an easy way for him to do so.

I've managed to download lyrics for each song on my iPod and I have been told that you can view lyrics or eac song through your iPod but I cannot fiure out how. Any tips????

The iPod mini does not allow for this feature. It is only available for the nano and the 5th gen iPod (video).

Lyrics on iPod Photo, via podcast description

Hi everyone!
I love my iPod photo, except for the fact that it doesn't display the lyrics of songs, like the later models do. However, I was recently listening to an MP3, and by pressing the middle button to cycle through the different screens, I came across what looked like a lyrics screen with a vertical scrollbar! Total surprise! After investigating, I discovered that it wasn't a lyrics screen, but the contents of the "Podcast Description" field of the ID3 tag (the tag field code is TDS).
I suddenly realised that I could put song lyrics into this "Podcast Description" field, and they would be displayed on my iPod exactly like the lyrics screen on the newer iPods! Yay! The only slight problem is that I don't know how to add this ID3 field to my songs. iTunes doesn't allow you to edit this field (or any podcast fields), nor do any of the ID3 editors I've tried (ID3 Editor, Media Rage, etc).
So, my question is: Does anyone know how I can create and edit "Podcast Description" fields (TDS) in my MP3s? Maybe something in GarageBand?? Maybe something useful at http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/techspecs.html ?

when I pass a text file (.txt) in the notes folder, then I try to see it on my ipod nano, I can see just a part of it, the beginning. Is there a size limit for the .txt files to be viewed in the ipod nano? How to increase it?

1) You need to have the paid upgrade installed.
2) You need to paste the lyrics into the lyrics tab of a song/album.
3) You need to re-sync the Touch.
4) When playing music, you click on the album cover (in portrait mode only) and the lyrics will superimpose on the screen.

If you want to know how to view lyrics in iTunes, the only way I know of is to go into a song's info. Might be a way to display otherwise; I've just never done it.

You can create a sideshow in PSE but I don't know anything about ipod so can't tell you whether it can be viewed in it.
Just for interest sake, what does an ipod do? I thought it was mainly for the music and speech based stuff but you seems to suggest otherwise.

Problem viewing lyrics

I've got lyrics to all of my songs embedded in iTunes, but when I tap the album cover on my iPod to view them, they don't display.
It acknowledges that there ARE lyrics embedded in the song because the 'loading lyrics' dialogue appears with the spinning circle, but then even after 60 sec nothing appears and the dialogue is still there.
Is anyone else having this, or can you tell me what I've done wrong?

I went through this as well.. not with every song but with a handfull. And to be honest I've yet to figure out exactly what it is/was that was causing it. Has something to do with ID3 tag and how lyrics are being written to it I believe. Try selecting a couple of the offending song in itunes, then from the advanced menu select convert id3 tags and select 2.4. Try resyncing your ipod and see if this helped. In the end I ended up purchasing [mpfreaker|http://www.lairware.com/mpfreaker>, and just let it go through my library and overwrite the lyrics for everything.

Can't view duplicates in iPod or iPod selection

iTunes 7.3.2 seems a little odd, everything looks and seems to work differently - I don't seem to be able to have any control over the ipod (4 gig mini) contents unless I select "manually manage" - in the older versions, it seemed to be a mixture, you could add manually by dragging, or itunes would add from your regular itunes list as a 'surprise' which I quite liked...now I also find I can't view duplicates in anywhere but the main itunes music library - I wonder if this is a permissions issue?
The update just seems to have complicated something that worked fine as it was....

First of all, Yahoo! and Hotmail are not Apple products, so this is not the place to seek help with their services; you need to go to the Yahoo! Mail and Hotmail Help pages for them. Aside from that, are you certain the sender attached a picture instead of just including the link to it? Did you ask them that specific question?
You need to check all those things before assuming there's a problem. The fact that you can view pictures in Safari on other sites would indicate there's no problem with Safari and that the sender of the email sent a link to a picture.

ITunes 6.0.1 crashes after viewing Lyrics in Get Info

I can view all tabs in the Get Info window EXCEPT Lyrics.
If I select the Lyrics tab and then hit "Cancel" iTunes shuts down immediately. If I select OK after viewing the Lyrics tab, iTunes shuts down as soon as I perform any other action in the application (i.e select another song to view, play, etc.) BTW: It doesn't matter if there are lyrics in the input field or not. It also doesn't matter if I change or add any information in the Lyrics input field.)
Here's what I've tried:
- I deleted the .plist in Preferences. Didn't help.
- I deleted the iTunes_Library file and the iTunesMusicLibrary.xml file and rebuilt my library from scratch. Didn't help.
- I did all of the above and downloaded and reinstalled iTunes 6.0.1(3).
All to no avail. Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas?

Hallelujah! Askjeevs nailed it! I am running W8.1 and just got an iPhone 6. Every time I tried to sync my 6 and restore it to the backup of my old 4S it would get through the 4 steps of the initial restore. I would get contacts, email accts, etc okay but as soon as it started step 5, copying Apps I would get this exact crash. My wife had no problem on her desktop restoring the phone. The difference was my iTunes library was stored on her desktop to save space on my laptop, and I was using my library through our home network.
After moving my library back to an external drive plugged directly into my laptop with a USB cable, and redirecting iTunes to use that library, voila! its syncing just fine!
Spent an hour on the phone with Apple this morning and they couldn't get me there. I found this while waiting for their callback but it took me several more hours to get it all configured properly.
