Viewing Metering Mode, Flash data, Exposure Compensation Values in Lightroom

Anyone know if it's possible to see the following data in Lightroom 2?  I can view this data in the 3rd party tool Exifer (if I convert a pic to JPEG) but I think it would be very handy to see this in LR2.  Anyone know how or if it's possible?
Focal point chosen
Metering Mode
Exposure Compensation Values
Flash data (Did or didn't the flash fire)
Shooting Mode (i.e. Manual, Av, Tv, P, etc)

Focal point is not possible. However, depending upon the camera model you should be able to see the others when the Exif metadata field preset is selected (see screnn shot below), and you should not have to convert to JPEG to do see Exif.

  • Flash Exposure Compensation Value Not Displaying in EXIF Info

When adjusting Flash Exposure Compensation on Nikon D4 camera (not on the Speedlight) the set value is not showing in EXIF Field in Aperture 3.4.1.  It always shows as a 0 value regardless of camera setting.  When I open the .nef  in Nikon View NX (v2.2.4) the set value for Flash Exposure Compensation is accurately shown in the EXIF info.  Have tried editing the Aperture EXIF fields (removing Flash Exp Comp and re-entering it) but, to no avail. Has anyone seen this, or  know of a solution?  Are any D800 users seeing the same thing?
    Thanks!

    Greg,
All the references to the element "rdf:value" in the XMP Specification
Part 1 appear in discussions about the implementation of XMP Qualifiers.
    Page 21,
The presence of property qualifiers is indicated by a special use of
the rdf:Description element. Each rdf:li array item in the example
contains an rdf:Description element, which itself contains the
    following:
--  a special element called rdf:value that represents the value of
    the property
-- zero or more other elements that represent qualifiers of the value.
In this case, there is one property qualifier called ns:role.
    Page 26
Other qualifiers cause the RDF for the qualified property to look like
a struct with a special rdf:value field. The presence of rdf:value is
what denotes this as a qualified property.
    Page 28
For qualifiers other than xml:lang, RDF forces the qualified property
to look like a struct with a special rdf:value field that contains the
actual value from the XMP Data Model. The other fields of the fake
struct are the qualifiers. The presence of rdf:value is what
distinguishes a real struct from a qualified property.
I assume that you are not trying to implement XMP qualifiers. Perhaps
    you should use vra:value instead?

  • Viewer slow while retrieving data while changing value from a page item

Hi, I am using 9.0.2 to create reports. My end-users are using Viewer to run these reports. Recently, we are experiencing performance problems with Viewer. We have reports with Page Item. Let say a report takes 1 min to run. After running the report if a different value is selected for a page item, it is takes another 1 min to get new data. Whereas, Desktop is not taking any additional time (noticable) for a different value for the page item. Recently, we are experiencing this problem. I thought that it was cache problem in Application server, so we restarted all the pieces in aps server. However, the problem still exists. We are using a materialized for this particular report.
Any tips would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

The performance differences can be attributed to the differences in product. Desktop is a client server product. A query executes and ALL data is returned to the desktop. You can manipulate that data in any way and the database is not required. Web (Plus/Viewer) only return the data needed to satisfy the query currently being viewed. If you change a page item, a database call is made to retreive additional/different data.
In other words this is just how things work. You can alter settings in your prefs.txt file to improve performance in Viewer/Plus. Changing number of rows returned, memory settings, row fetch limits, rows per fetch all can improve/reduce performance.
As best I know there is not a "magic" setting for these values. It is based on the server/volume of data/workbook content/ workbook layout. etc. Crosstab workbooks are much slower to return data than page -detail.

  • Adjusting Exposure Compensation Settings Of 808 To...

Apart from the inaccurate white balance of the Pureview 808 in low light which appears to be a permanent feature of the phone(still waiting for confirmation from Nokia whether there will be a software update to correct this), it seems that the exposure of the Pureview 808 can be manipulated or adjusted in Creative mode with the "Exposure Compensation" feature found on the left side of the screen. Since the image of the 808 is always over-exposed in low light, I guess this feature may come in handy. Has anybody used this "Exposure Compensation" feature when taking pictures in low light? Are there any guidelines on the usage of this feature? I have fiddled around with the settlings yesterday and found that in very low light situations where a brightly lit object is in a completely dark background, the Exposure Compensation needs to be at -0.7 or -1.0 for a satisfactory image to appear. At 0 or -0.3, the image will become too bright and blurry. The ISO plays a part as well in these low light conditions as a minimum ISO400 is required for these low light shots.
I would appreciate some information or guidelines on the usage of the "Exposure Compensation" settings of the Pureview 808 in low light. At least the exposure can still be adjusted manually for a more usable image, unlike the white balance issue which seems to be a fixed or inherent thing in the 808(hopefully not perenially).
    Thanks.

Try checking this and see if this helps you in any way: Nokia 808 PureView Tips, Tricks and Photography.
Another thing, one of our friends here posted a thread that there's a new update available for the said device so you may also want to check if the update is already available for your precious one. See here. Please take note though that update availability depends on the existing firmware version, operator and variant.
Checking Discussions Guidelines once in a while will not hurt.
Thanks for the information. Much appreciated. The latest update that I have on my 808 is software version 113.010.1507. The latest update (113.010.1508) is still not available yet at where I live.
THanks for the link on the Pureview tips and tricks. Will check on it in a while.
    Cheers.

  • Where is the exposure compensation detail

I am looking for the exposure compensation detail in Lightroom 4.4 but cannot find it.

    You bet .

Do I just download the plugin
Well, you have to install it too ('Add' using Plugin Manager).
    Maddieraz2 wrote:
    is it straightforward?
It takes some getting used to, but with practice, it is a very useful plugin indeed.
Worth noting: the plugin doesn't do anything you couldn't do yourself manually by editing .lrtemplate lua files (stored in 'Metadata Field Lists' folder in with Lightroom Presets) with a text editor - the plugin just makes it accessible to all users who can weild a mouse.
To be clear: you don't need a custom preset to see exposure bias, for example you can just select the built-in preset "EXIF". (exposure bias was omitted from the default preset for some reason).

  • 600EX Flash - 5D III. Flash exposure compensation.

How can I set the FLASH exposure compensation from the CAMERA. It appears that I have to set the exposure compensation on the back of the flash unit. I would like be able to change the FLASH EC settings from the camera, not the flash unit.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Ok, I have my 5D III out with my 600EX-RT mounted.
Let's make sure you don't have terminology confused.
There are two different compensations... there's "explosure compensation" and "flash exposure compensation".
If you meter exposure with the camera and then use the rear dial (assuming you did not disable it) after waking up the metering system then the rear dial will change the "exposure" compensation (this changes the metering for the AMBIENT light reading that the camera reads -- ignoring the flash).  So changing "exposure compensation" will not change the flash even if the flash is powered on and connected.  It would only change the camera.
On the top of the camera, just in front of the top LCD screen, there are four buttons.  One has a dimple on it.  That button is the ISO & "flash exposure compensation" button.  If you press that button, then the rear LCD screen should show you that the rear dial will control "Flash exposure comp."    Turning the rear dial at that point will make the adjustment show initially ONLY on the camera LCD screen... UNTIL you press the 'Set' button in the middle of the dial.   Once you do that, the rear LCD screen on the flash will show that you have the flash exposure compensation enabled (it will ONLY show this when you wake up the metering system... if the metering system is allowed to go inactive the flash will only display the netural compensation... but as soon as you re-activate metering it will display your exposure compenation as set on the camera.
Also... on the rear LCD screen there's a box just below the ISO setting that shows if you have flash exposure compensation set and the amount.
This is all being controlled only by the camera -- I'm not using the menu buttons on the flash itself.
IF I DO use the buttons on the flash to set flash exposure compensation then the camera is locked out.  It will report what compensation has been set on the flash, but will not let me change it until I use the buttons on the flash to return it to 0.
Does that help and are you able to do this with your flash?

  • Flash Exposure Compensation Metadata

Please allow Bridge to read and state the degree of Flash Exposure Compensation that a photo uses in its metadata. Currently, Bridge does not read this info for Canon photos but the info is in the picture.

Yes, yes and yes. Its a good thing I kept Breezebrowser

  • Flash Exposure Compensation

I am shooting RAW files with a Nikon D200 and SB-800 Flash. I use controls on SB-800 to adjust flash exposure compensation. When photos are imported into Aperture the flash metadata states "strobe return light detected". The flash exposure compensation field lists zero despite having set an exposure compensation on the flash. Any ideas?

  • My Exif is not picking up Metering Mode

my DPP can read the metering mode file in raw and the jpg thats been processed in APE6. but if you open the jpg in APE6 it cannot read the metering mode. The Exif information on metering mode is missing in my galley images see here http://www.birdforum.net/gallery/showgallery.php/cat/500/ppuser/56094 but other posters in this gallery using the same camera 50d I can see there metering mode, can you help me with this problem thanks Terry

There's something about where canon writes that data that photoshop/elements don't like.
Interesting. I looked at Metering Mode in one of my Canon G9 pics, and PSE 7 Organizer reports it as "Pattern", while ZoomBrowser EX reports it as "Evaluative".   I identified the cause of the discrepancy, but it doesn't sound like what Terry is experiencing.
Terry, I'd be interesting in tracking down this problem, so if you have the time, perhaps you could post the two sample photos to pixentral.com.
Details on Pattern versus Evaluative Metering Mode:
Using Exiftool, I tracked down the discrepancy: PSE and most other tools report the standard EXIF fields, while ZoomBrowser EX reports the contents of the Canon-proprietary MakerNotes.  The EXIF MeteringMode and MakerNotes MeteringMode have different sets of values:
EXIF:                          Unknown, Average, Center-weighted average, Spot, Multi-spot, Pattern, Partial
Canon MakerNotes:     Default, Average, Center-weighted average, Spot, Evaluative, Partial
Perhaps Canon judges that the EXIF Pattern is approximately the same as its Evaluative?

  • Metering Mode - EXIF metadata

Is there any correlation between the Metering Mode (a number) in the EXIF metadata and the actual mode used on cameras ?
Not mentioned in forums, the manual, or an Aperture book i have...which means it must be obvious and every but me knows it...!
I expect it may differ between manufacturers and possibly cameras. Does the camera drop a number into this field when the image is taken ? Looking for details on Canon EOS series (rebelxt, 20d & 5).
    eg for EOS 5
    1=CW
    2=spot
    3=evaluative....

On my D60 the info is..
    3= Evaluative
    4= Partial
    5= CW
Aperture doesn't read the EXIF as well as iView MP, I seem to loose a bit, flash fire/no fire, exposure comp, mode etc. iView manages to get it all.
I love the ap though - it saves me hours, and keeps me organised!

  • Core Data, how default value is set @ XCode 4

    Hi,
    I updated XCode to 4.
Then, in core data modeling mode, I cannot set default value.
I couldn't find "default value" column. (only "Attribute" and "Type")
    Where has it gone?

In the upper right corner there is a set of buttons with the label "View" and three buttons, the one on the right has a tooltip, "Hide or show the Utilities", and this is a quick way to slide the panel you are looking at in and out. I can't figure out if I can include a picture.

  • View is not retuning data when creating XML message through workflow

    Hi All,
This is a very critical problem for me. I am trying to send an XML message (outbound) through XML gateway. This is done from a custom workflow. The message creation is done from the standard procedure ecx_document.sendDirect. The data for the XML file is taken from two views (whcih are created in a custom schema and have synonym in apps). One view for header and another one for line information (I am creating an XML for a purchase order).
The problem is when the workflow try the first time to create a message, the views are not returning data. So message creation fails. Now, if we restart the workflow after some time, it will work and the message is created. What could be the reason for this sort of a behaviour ?
I am using business events to trigger the workflow. The data in the table/view will be updated by standard POAPPRV workflow activities. The custom workflow is subscribed to a business event raised from POAPPRV workflow, at a certain point. So this will execute when this event is raised from POAPPRV wf. The subscription has a phase value of 99.
Any help on this regard will be much appreciated, as this is a critical issue.
    Thanks in advance,
    Arun
PS : One more thing : this is happening mostly in the production instance where the number of messages is very high (freqency).

    Hello,
With the BAPI_EQUI_CREATE you can only create PM equipments not IS-U devices that why there is no IS Tab .
You have to use the dialog transactions IQ01, IQ04 or the MM transaction, where you can create devices through a movement.
There is objecttype DEVICE (SWO1) with the following methods:
-> Device.CreateFromData (Create Equipment Master Record)
-> Device.Create (Create Equipment Master Record)
    -> Device.CreateISU (Create IS-U: Modification for IS-U)
Please check whether you can use method Device.CreateISU for your requirement.

  • List View does not retain date formats from Excel

i am using List View control to isplay data. When i scroll the horizontal bar inlist view, the date format changes to numbers. is there were to stop this happening.
    regards
    Chandra

    Hi Chandra,
Are you getting the values from any live connection or is it static data from the excel file?
You can also try to goto properties of component and in the appearence tab, select the format of the values as "DATE".
Incase you are getting the values from the live connection, you can select a different cell which would reference to the data coming from the connection and use it into the components.
e.g.: if values are coming in cell"A1" then goto some empty cell as B1 and type in"=A1" and use this new cell into the component.
Let me know if this works.
    Thanks,
    Amit.

    Hi ,
I have used Value mapping replication to update the mass data from external source to Value mapping table . Its updatating in Runtime Cache but i want the data to be visible in GUI Value mapping table as well. Is it possible ? Because i doubt that the data in Runtime Cache may get  removed if the system restarts . Can any one help ?

    Hi NALLAM GUNA RANJAN,
Thanks for your prompt reply but i didn't get what you are trying to convey . My issue here is
Instead of manually entering key-value pair in Value mapping table , I used Value mapping replication ( http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2a/9d2891cc976549a9ad9f81e9b8db25/frameset.htm )
Its updating the data in Runtime Cache ( you can see this using Cache Monitoring )  but not able to view the data in Actual Value mapping Table (GUI in Directory of SAPXI) I want the data updated using Replication to be visible in GUI table is it possible ?
Hope you got the question much better now
