Hi mrnotia
Do you mean by this that you don't want to use a GPRS connection so that assisted GPS feature will not work, as provided internal GPS is enabled it will still lock onto satellites albeit more slowly unless outside?
If you have access to a WLAN this can always be the chosen access point if you want.
If you have downloaded regional maps you can use the "*" and "#" keys to zoom in/out and the cursor to traverse maps.

  • E90 Using Nokia Maps without using Data from mobil...

Is it possible to use the integrated GPS in the E90 with Nokia Maps WITHOUT connecting through mobile data and incurring data cost? Is there any other 3rd party GPS navigation software that would work like Nokia Maps, using stored maps et al, so you do not have to constantly download maps via your service provider, AND give you navigation instructions? As I understand, one has to pay for the "navigation" part of Nokia Maps.
If I am totally out to lunch, would someone please correct me? Thanks!

  • Getting Nokia Maps without Map Loader

I just upgraded to the latest version of Nokia Maps, but when I ran it it said it needed to delete my old maps as they were incompatible. I did that, and then found that Map Installer won't run on my Mac as we have got operating system Tiger 10.4 not Leopard. There were no warnings.
Is there another way to get the maps apart from using mobile download time ? I once found a website that allowed you to get the maps manually and copy them to the phone, but can't find it anywhere. I do have Nokia Multimedia Transfer

Because the old maps have been deleted, I now have no navigation at all. If I run the new Ovi Maps 3.03 I see the GPS fixes, but there is no map underlying it. There seems to be no way to download a map even using data charges.
I have broadband but can't find any way to get at the map files directly, unless the previously mentioned site gets updated.
There seems to be no way I can get back my old maps, or the new ones.
Does anyone know how I can get the UK map directly from the phone, without using a computer ?

  • Nokia maps on Windows phone 8 - detail and resolut...

    Hello,
I can't really use nokia maps with satellite view, since I will nearly always get low resolution landsat image material instead of the high res images I've already known from windows phone 7.5 and bing maps (I thought bing and nokia were working together??). --> compare attachments: nokia maps on wp8 vs. maps.bing.com
Blending between zoom levels is a catastrophe (compare to google maps, that's the way it should be done, lower zoom levels interpolated from higher zoom levels). Often some layers or the whole material is missing and you will get maps like the attached one, even after some minutes of loading (wlan or 3g/LTE... doesn't matter).

Because I haven't written it in the upper posting: The shown map area is exactly the same.

  • N96 Nokia maps problem

I've had my N96 since October, and have previously used nokia maps without any problems. Recently it won't work and asks me to download the latest version, which I've done & installed, but I can't find the installation on my phone, and when I try to load the maps app from the old icon it continues to prompt me to download the latest version.
I tried to remove the old version, but it will not completely remove, and brings up error messages.
What am I doing wrong? How do I install the latest version of maps?

    Hi chris_m182
Apart from need to backup essential data, you may need to carry out a reset by inputting *#7370# on standby screen followed by 12345 (default Nokia lock code) unless altered by yourself. As your N96 has UDP = User data preservation, you could possibly need to re-format C:\DRIVE by carrying out the "Three finger reset" as detailed in Paragraph 45 of FAQ to Nokia Software Updater here:http://europe.nokia.com/A4577229#faq45 if former method doesn't resolve issue.

  • Nokia Maps Satellite View Quality

Nokia Maps satelite view picture quality is very ugly in some countries to the point where you can't make out a single thing when zoomed in. I live in Jamaica and it is a pain trying to use it, so I am forced to use that other mapping service we all know of.
Will this problem ever be fixed? I need to know so that I can make a decision.
MobileTopSoft blogger and Nokia fanboy, hooah!

The same low quality for Afghanistan's Satellite map. In Ovi Maps mobile there is no more zoom level after 1KM. and in maps.nokia.com even 1KM zoom level is not clear.
BUT if you check NAVTEQ website you can see that it has HIGH QUALITY and CLEAR satellite images up to 50M ZOOM LEVEL.
Long time that it's very poor in Nokia's. When it will be implemented to maps.nokia.com and then to Ovi Maps mobile? How much time will it take?
As "Vames" said that Nokia Maps and Google Maps are provided by Navteq still Nokia couldn't improve maps for Afghanistan BUT Google has High Quality Satellite images and NAVIGABLE Map for Afghanistan.
When will Nokia improve the Maps?
When there will be navigable Maps for Afghanistan?
    Regards.

  • 'No Images' for Satellite & Hybrid views in Maps

'No Images' for Satellite & Hybrid views in Maps since ios 8.2 update. Iphone 5

    linusbilbao,
It may help to force close all open apps, then reset your iPhone.
Force an app to close in iOS
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT5137
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT1430
If you're still not seeing any images in Maps, the next step would be to reinstall iOS on your device by placing it in Recovery Mode, then choosing Update in iTunes.
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on

  • Satellite view in maps N96

    Hello everyone.
I have a problem in that I can no longer get the satellite view in Nokia Maps. I used to get it and have tried in locations where I used to see this layer but it aint there! I still get the 2D and 3D views.
I assume this view is web based - when I start maps I get a message saying 'maximum number of connections in use close an active connection first' I ok this and disconnect from service ISP (Vodafone.ie in this case)
Then get a prompt 'no internet connection select options, tools, go online. Do this and just get the same message - no internet connection.... - repeating.
I assume thiss is all to do with my connection settings but cannot solve it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

You need to change your internet connection from "Internet" to "WAP Services" in Tools-->Settings...

  • N8 default photo viewer and Nokia Maps

With the E52, I can view a photo (with geotag) with the default photo viewer. Select "Option/Show on Maps" and it will automatically opens up Nokia Maps showing where that photo was taken. And to navigate to that place.
With the N8 photo viewer, there isn't any such option. Is there any apps that could do that? Thanks

Seems it works the same way that on Nokia 5800xm as mentioned here ...

  • My nokia maps v3.09 crashes without opening, witho...

Hi. I updated my nokia maps a few days back thru the 'map loader' app. After they were updated, i was able to use them. But now, when i click on the 'maps' icon the white circle rotates as if the app is loading but is doesn't load and takes me back to menu without any error message. I don't think the update is the issue here because i've done that in past. I've tried rebooting my phone a couple of times, not worked. Maybe i've to delete any file in my phones memory?? Im using a C7 belle. Thanks!
    Solved!

Actually there is NO update available at the moment. So, technically the update is yet to come ...
It would perhaps be better to make clear that this issue ONLY affected devices using Nokia Maps v3.06 and it is only for these devices that previous 00.02.46.103 made available and not Symbian S^3 onwards using v3.08 aand 3.09 for which 00.02.47.103 remains the latest.

  • View GPS tracks in Nokia Maps

Is there a possibility to view GPS tracks in Nokia Maps (1.2), e.g. if the track is in gpx or kml format? I tried several converters but the lmx file that I get only gives me waymarks but no routes or tracks. That's ok for short tracks but problematic for long tracks with a lot of waymarks. Is there any other way to deal with this?

Exactly, so if you don't have a data plan and use the sat images a lot then you'll get charged a lot.
