Viewing option is too small

Can anyone tell me how to change my view option? I used to be able to see tv shows, podcasts, etc in a full screen. Now everything defaults to a very small screen that displays in the center of my computer.
I have checked all menu options and preferences, but nothing changes the screen. It's like a 3x3 box to view with the rest of my large computer screen being black.

Anyone have an answer to this? I'm experiencing the same thing on my Blackbook. Oddly the same content on my Powermac is not affected.

Use this extension to adjust the font size for the user interface:
*Theme Font & Size Changer: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/theme-font-size-changer/
Increase the String pref layout.css.devPixelsPerPx from 1.0 to 2.0 in 0.1 or 0.05 steps to adjust the size of all fonts and other elements in Firefox.<br />
In current Firefox versions this pref is a String value parsed to a float and allows to fine tune the dimensions of all elements (user interface and web pages) more precisely.
You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages if the above steps made the text too large.

  • View Option to see small image with caption

It would be nice to see an option where the thumbnail is on the left and a caption or other info is listed to the right. IView has this option. It would make it much easier to see what images are fully captioned and which ones are not. I believe IView calls it List Mode.

Don: your method works fine, but usually we need to see captions around to feel conext.
I use other workaround: I changed bottom label (in View options -> Compact Cell Extras) from default "Rating" to "Caption".
Rating is still visible in filmstrip, and can be changed by keyboard or in metadata view. (What is good. I hate active badges in grid - always hit them by accident when browsing library)

  • Drive view in landscape mode still too small even ...

Sorry but I downgrade my maps version to 3.06. the new drive layout is still leaving the actual maps viewing area way too small.I am using an N8 with belle FP1. The car symbol on the street/road should be re-aling to the center of the main screen and the L/H side buttons/information zone could stay bigger for ease of use but could also become semi-transparent instead of plain black to let see the remaining of the map to have a full view. At least with ver 3.06 when ''just drive'' was selected all the unnecessary informations is remove to give ''close to'' full screen view apart from the bottom menu keys.to have a close to 4 inch screen and only get a 2 1/2 view of the mas while driving is very sad.
For the maps portion now the favorites are white square with a yellow star in it, the blue square with the white star was better looking on maps 3.06 and also the rendering of the main roads where ranging from yellow to red depending of the speed zone. This also was better looking than the drab gray of the new version either on maps mode or on drive mode.
All the rest of the improvement are great in term of better ease of use while driving but defenitely some element from the previous 3.06 version should have been kepted from my point of view.

  • When i browse with firefox the search results come up too small to read and I can't find any menu buttons (ie, can't find anywhere to zoom in or the view menu)

Have just got a new computer. Downloaded firefox as it has always been better than explorer and I've never had trouble on previous computers. It seemed to download okay. I set google as my home page. When I type a search phrase into it, the results page comes up too small to read. It's like it's normal but miniature. You know how google has google images, googlevideos, google maps across the top of it, if I click on the minature 'images' word, it comes up with the google images page but also very tiny. But if I click the mini 'videos' word, the videos search page is normal sized and so is the maps page.
It's driving me crazy because the initial page seems okay but there's no normal google stuff on that either, and then when I try to search for something, it goes tiny.

    Hello Ashley.
You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
On the other hand, you may have Firefox configured to display fonts like that. Check Tools > Options > Content > Fonts & Colors and see that the font size is not too small. In my experience, sizes bellow 16 will be way to small to read.

Did you try to zoom in that page via Ctrl and + (View > Text Size)?

  • Help Viewer Font Size Way Too Small

    Hello,
The font size of the adobe help viewer content is way too

    Hi Mike
I recall that earlier incarnations of the help viewer had a
zoom setting that would allow for this. Sadly, it seems to have
    disappeared and I'm unsure why.

  • Year/Annual planning/view option in iCal

I would like to find a way to print a Year/Annual planning/view option in iCal, but I could not figure out a way to do it.
Does anybody knows how to do do it?
If it is not possible, can anyone recommend a script/plugin to achieve it? Or another software that can import iCal calendars and then print Year/Annual planning/view?
    Thanks,
    Anselmo

Me too! Please please someone reply to this request! This is a vital option that needs to be made available as a view AND print option.
Some small improvements to the print dialogo window would also be appreciated:
I think it would be more efficient if the calendars/subscriptions to print were all OFF by default: I would imagine it is more often the times you are printing a selected calendar, rather than all of them together.
The frame containing the calendars also needs to be expandable making them all visible at a glance. Scrolling through lists in a dialog is a no-no (or for Windoze).
Thanks for any help on this.

  • How do I make icons bigger? All icons are way too small for speedy use. no matter what I do they remain too small. Is there a way of getting them the same size as previous versions?

All icons, such as refresh page, back, forward, stop and home etc; are just too small for comfortable use. For now I am uninstalling Firefox 4 and going back to 3.x. even the zoom page icons are too small.

"I had read that GarageBand or the Musical Typing there can sometimes not display properly when the resolution is changed."
Well, did you checked GB after you changed your resolution?
Which setting did you change to?
You & I have the same size iMac screen. My resolution setting is 1280x800. Everything fits perfectly in the windows & on desktop including the menu bar.
All info in my windows are showing. I did not need to adjust my browser font size settings. I am sure you are aware of the browser font size settings. I use FF & the settings are in Preferences>Content.
In the Finder window you can enlarge the icons & fonts also.

  • View Options in iTunes 8

Two customizable view options in iTunes 7 seem to have disappeared from iTunes 8, can anyone help me find them? First of all, those annoying little arrows that take you to the iTunes store. They appear in the list after song title, artist, and album title after whatever song you have selected. There was an option to turn them off in iTunes 7 but I can't find it now. The second one is way more crucial. In the browser up top there are three categories--Genre, Artist, and Album. I don't use Genre at all, and I had it turned off in iTunes 7 so that only Artist and Album appeared, but now I can't figure out how to do that. Is there a way to get rid of the Genre box in the browser too? Thanks for your help.

Heres a easy way to do it on mac computers. Work on mine for iTunes 8. God I hate those arrows
I"n iTunes 7, there was a preference to disable the links to the iTunes Store -- these are the small arrows that appear when you select a song in your library. In iTunes 8, however, that preference is gone. A bit of digging in the iTunes' binary found the solution, thankfully.
If you'd like to disable the iTunes Store link arrows, quit iTunes, open Terminal, and run this command:
defaults write com.apple.iTunes show-store-arrow-links -bool FALSE
Relaunch iTunes, and voila, no more arrows! To reverse this behavior, you can repeat the above command (quit iTunes first), but replace FALSE with TRUE. (Or, if you prefer, you can completely delete the added preference with defaults delete com.apple.iTunes show-store-arrow-links).
I'm sure this would have been submitted by someone at some point, but the arrows annoyed me enough to go digging for a solution -- and thanks to Kirk McElhearn for his help in finding and testing the fix!"

  • Menus and Fonts too small with Panasonic HDTV

I just hooked up a new Mini (Intel chip) to my Panasonic HDTV-- 34" Model No. CT-34WX53-- using a DVI cable. The desktop shows up fine, but the menus and fonts are so tiny that I can't read them. When I try using Front Row, the pictures and vide are gorgeous and the fonts in Front Row are fine. It's just the fonts and menus in on the desktop and in other programs that are too small. Does anyone know how to fix?

    Edward,
That's the price of having a gazillion pixels!
You have two options - send less pixels to the display or change each application (Including the finder) to show larger fonts and icons.
The lower the resolution option is easy and fast. The downside of "zoom"-ing the display is it may look blocky at certain resolutions and the fonts and fine details in photos and movies may be lost if the mac has to alias or scale the video. If you do this - you might want to enable the menu bar item for display preferences to quickly switch between the setting you prefer. I use one setting for actually using the mac and another setting for playing movies and showing slides in FrontRow.
The change the preferences to make the fonts and icons larger is more of a pain but yields the most crisp display and you don't have to change things up. I would start with Finder Preferences (select an icon on your desktop and on the View menu - show view options - crank up the icon size and font size.) Unfortunately - you have to do this in each application you use. It also won't change the menu font sizes - you might need an "extension" from a developer to change that.

  • Comments font is too small

    Hello,
I've installed Acrobat DC and opened a PDF with comments.
When looking at the list of comments, it looks good and the font size is good,
    BUT!
When double clicking the comment in comments bar in order to copy the comment, the font becomes too small.
The same PDF that it's comments font looked good under Acrobat X has become too small in Acrobat DC.
I know that there was never an option to make all comments fonts bigger and that you can go to each comment and enlarge it text, but it is not reasonable to do it for 200 comments.
    This is very disturbing.
Is there a way to fix it?
    All the best
    Shlomit

    Hello
Thank you for your answer but this is not what I asked and it doesn't solve my problem.
I'm not talking about comments I create.
I'm talking about comments proof readers are creating for me.
Most of them use Reader and most of them use the default settings for the comment text.
I am the graphic designer who needs to fix the proof reader comments. I need to copy the text of the comment, and for that I need to double click it. When double clicking to comment, the text becomes too small. It has nothing to do with the size you set in preferences as this size refer the the comments text view when they are closed (without double clicking it in order to copy the fixed word or words) and not about the content of the comment. It even written in prefs "Comment view" and not "Comment content"///
    Look at the attached screenshot.
I hope my question is clearer now.
Now, how do I change the font size of all 370 comments I have in my document so when I double click the comment I can see the font in a bigger font size?
I don't believe there is a way to do it. There was never a way.
I read here that there is nothing to do in old versions, seems like in the new version its the same. So the news are still sad as one of your stuff said in his answer...
I do hope I'm wrong, this is a serious issue for me.
    all the best,
    Shlomit

  • Print dialog font is too small: Acrobat Reader on Linux

I'm running Acrobat Reader version 7.0.5 on CentOS 4.5 (RedHat Enterprise
4.5) and find that the fonts used on the Print dialog are too small.
They are much smaller than the fonts used on labels and other controls
in the rest of the application, and are very difficult to read. By
comparison, they seem to be about 1/2 the size of the font used by the
Reader menu bar (File, Edit, View, ...).
I've gone through the Edit -> Preferences, but don't see anything which
will change the size of the fonts used on this dialog.
Is there a configuration file or some other way that I can increase the
    size of these fonts?
    Thanks,

the issue occurs on systems running debian-etch, debian-etch'n-half,
debian-lenny, and gentoo with xdm as display manager and fvwm as
window manager. the x-server runs with the '-dpi 75' option regardless of
the screen's physical dimensions. the screen's resolution is 1600x1200.
for me it looks like acroread is creating it's dialog boxes independently
from gtk-settings in $HOME/.gtkrc-2.0 (apart from the OK/Cancel buttons of
the printing dialog) and while doing so, it makes wrong assumptions about
the font-size by using the dpi setting of the screen to calulate the physical
dimention of the screen. if the x-server is running with '-dpi 100' the
dialog fonts are considerably bigger, but still differs from the settings
in $HOME/.gtkrc-2.0. for example when you make setting of
            style "default"
                    font_name = "Verdana 24"
            class "*" style "default"
then you don't get neither Verdana nor 24pt fonts in the whole acroread
gui except for  the menubar and the OK/Cancel buttons of the printing
dialog, while any other gtk-program like firefox, thunderbird, and others
apprear completely in Verdana 24pt -- which is of course far too big, but
    illustrated the issue very clearly.
screenshots (with gtk-fonts set to Verdana 24pt and Tahoma 11pt) are
inserted below. (as you can see, the printing dialog and advanced printing
    dialog even use different fonts.)
thank you very much for the very quick reply.

  • Checkbox Item: character string buffer too small (APEX 4.0. - 4.2.)

    Hi all,
I'm currently running the Oracle Application Express 4.0.2 on the Oracle DB 11g and thinking about the APEX upgrading to current 4.2. version. We have there quite big application used by the inernal employees so prior I need to test, if the migration will work.
I installed the new server with database and the APEX 4.2. and import the current application. Everything seems to working good except few checkboxes, which returns me the error: "ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small."
LOV (Source) Code of Checkbox Item:
SELECT email as display_value, id as return_value
    FROM users
    WHERE <some conditions>;
In the current version 4.0.2. I get the checkbox item (total count of the rows approx. 650), but in the 4.2. I get this "string buffer too small" error and the page could not be rendered (if I add to the same query limitation: "rownum<242" it will display the item).
Could you please help me with this issue? Any idea, what I should set up in the new APEX to get the same results or you see there any limitation, why it does not work in the new version, but in the old version the same SQL works fine?
    Thank you all in advance.
    Regards,
    Tomas.

Any idea, what I should set up in the new APEX to get the same results or you see there any limitation, why it does not work in the new version, but in the old version the same SQL works fine? The total size of the HTML generated for an LOV-based item in APEX is restricted to 32K (this limit applies to every version). Why you are hitting this limit in the new instance may be due to differences in data or the database configuration (e.g. character set) rather than changes introduced in APEX.
Is the data exactly the same? Is the database configuration the same? When you limit the number of rows so the checkboxes are displayed and view the page source, is there any difference in the HTML used to render the checkbox form elements between the two versions?
That said, from a usability perspective 650 LOV options is rather a lot, and your application may very well outgrow this limit naturally in any version of APEX as more users as added. It is probably worthwhile thinking about other ways to display these options.
