Viewing pages brochure

Is there a clever way to view a trifold brochure on the computer as you would in real life? I would like to send out the brochure I have created as an attachment, but the two pages (front and back) can be confusing and not very effective. It would be really cool if you could start with just the front cover and then click through with each click opening a fold (left then right) and the flipping it over.
Maybe I'm better off pasting some of my material in another application like keynote or powerpoint.
The brochure prints beautifully, just trying to email it to some customers...THANKS!

If the users working with a PDF page description configure ICC colour management correctly, that is, if they have correctly characterised ICC profiles for the digital graphic displays, digital graphic printers, and digital graphic presses they are working with, then the intended colours should be communicated correctly. It is not a question of your home inkjet producing a more pleasing print, since if the question were how each and every digital graphic device were to produce the most pleasing rendering, there could be question of getting one digital graphic device to simulate the colours of which another digital graphic device were capable.
In the nineteen-nineties it was amusing to talk to people making and marketing printing products. They had the impressition that the point was to render the most pleasing colour and not that the point was to make possible a colour managed process whereby the desktop display and the deskside printer simulated the production printing system. An inkjet system is capable of forming many, many colours a xeroxraphic or a lithographic system is not capable of forming, at least not in common configurations. The gamut of your inkjet needs to be colourimetrically cut back to the size and shape of the gamut of the printing condition you plan to purchase a run of.

How to set up multi-page brochure? Please help :(

I'm fairly new to InDesign and am struggling to set up a 6-page brochure - so either a roll fold or z-fold layout with 3 pages each side, similar to this.
I can set up a 6 page A5 document, but, to help me when developing the design,rather than having each page viewed seperately I wanted to have two runs of three pages, where in each run there is no gap visible between the three pages.
I'm sure there's an easy way to do this, but I just can't work it out and Google has been no help either
I'd be really grateful for any advice.

It's staggeringly easy (that is, if you know the trick ). You can drag the individual pages around in the Pages panel and make 'em stick to eachother just by moving one page onto the side of another. This image should have shown the mouse pointer (it changes to a drag hand), but you can see the glue-together marker.
Note: before you do this you must uncheck "Allow Document Pages to shuffle" in the Pages panel menu if it's checked.

How to remove blank pages from WebI Report in view page layout option

I am working in Business Objects XIR2 environment. I have a WebI report with several sections. I need to show the report as a book with 69 sections (each section on new page). there are 69 sections on cost center and each cost center section has almost 10 sections embedded in it. When i see in regular view - I only see 69 pages but when I try to see in "View Page Lay out" option, there is one blank page added after each results page.
Please let me know how to remove this blank page. I need to give users the option to download the book as PDF on to their machine. Now, when I download to my machine, I see one blank page after each results page.

Jus convert your report in Page Layout mode and see if your first pafe is getting expand in the second page.
Now check if there are any cell going into second page.
- if there are any blank cell which is there after table.
you have to check formating very carefull.

Can't view pages in Hindi

Hi, I'm unable to view pages in Hindi. I've looked for additional font packages but can't find them for Mac. I'm running OS 10.3.9, is that the problem?
My friends can see http://www.bbc.co.uk/hindi/ in hindi, but I just see weird characters.
Is there anything I can do about this?

Sure, you just need to add the font Devanagari MT. This is done by installing the AdditionalFonts.pkg which is found on the 3rd CD of a retail Panther set.

In the "View"-- "Page Source" window: why can't I select a portion of a URL like I used to in previous versions? If I try, the source text behaves as an active hyperlink instead. This makes copying and editing HTML a pain!

In want to copy a portion of a URL from the "View" --> "Page Source" window and paste it in my favorite text editor. This used to be a simple action with my mouse (mark portion with left mouse button, dump copy into editor window with middle mouse button). In Firefox 3.6.9, it is not plain text in the "Page Source" window but active hyperlinks (cursor shape changes) and takes me to the website of that URL, which I don't want. How can I get the original behavior (plain text page source) back?

The code taht you have shown is not the template, it is a document that has been created from a template and renamed with a dwt extension.
If you load the document into DW then go to menu item Modify->Templates->Detach from Template and save the file, you will have your original template called index.dwt and located in the Templates subdirectory.

Report viewer page showing in ActiveX Mode

In CMC or Infoview, we are able to set viewing option to DHTML, ActiveX, Advanced DHTML & so on.
I need to code a viewer page which able display reports in ActiveX mode.
What I did:
1) I have set the viewing preferences to ActiveX from CMC
2) using the sample codes which uses com.crystaldecisions.report.web.viewer.CrystalReportViewer
3) I have searched and checked the API for any method to set the view mode to ActiveX (but can't find any).
4) I have set the print mode to ActiveX
Result:
1) My viewer page still showing reports in HTML mode.
2) But my reports are showing in ActiveX mode in CMC report preview and InfoView.\
Any one has the code sample or solution?! I need some guides here...

The CrystalReportViewer class is the DHTML viewer, and there's no way to invoke the ActiveX viewer through it.
The ActiveX viewer is a client-side component, that needs to launch and communicate back to a web-app-server-side component, that mediates communication with Enterprise.
Enterprise web apps has such a server-side component, but no public API does.
The RAS report viewer sample you're referring to does contain such a component - it essentially mediates the communication between the RAS server and the ActiveX viewer - however, it's only been written against Version 10, and it's only available as a classic ASP page using COM libraries, and not Java.
The only public way to get the ActiveX viewer is using URL Reporting.

Firefox is quite slow to load and view pages with and I keep getting the "Firefox is not responding" message.
I have the latest version, plus the latest Adobe Flash Player, Shockwave Player, etc.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to install for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

How can I view page info without right-clicking?

Hi, I've recently updated to Firefox 4.0.1, and with the "tools" menu gone, I can't find out how to view page info anymore without right-clicking. This can be a problem for sites in which right-click is disabled. I have also tried ctrl+I, but this only opens the bookmarks menu. Is there a way of viewing page info in the new Firefox without right-clicking?

How to show description instead of code on a view page?

I'm new so this is probably basic, but I didn't find an answer when I tried searching.
I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3, ADF Business Components, ADF Faces.
In my application, I have both view pages and edit pages (some users will only have read access). Many of the fields will be populated from LOV and the code will be stored in the database.
The edit page is no problem - I have read-only VO for the LOV and I use af:selectOneChoice and display the description. But how do I display the same description on the view page? By defaiult the code is displayed when the entity based VO is dropped as a ADF Read Only Form.
I assume I need to do something in the BC, but I'm not sure how to get values from read-only VO into my entity based VO. Or do I have to make all my VO for LOVs entity based even though they will never be edited? Or is there something I can do in the view to get the description instead of the code?

So if I understand you properly, I need to create EOs for all my list of values (which are based on views of Oracle apps tables) and base my VO on those EOs. And then I setup associations between these EOs and the Item EO. Then I include the these EOs in my Items VO and add the description attributes to my list of attributes. I had done this for the list of users, but for the views of Oracle I had just created read only VO. Sounds like that won't work if I want to display the description. I know what to do - I guess I was hoping there was a way to use the read only VO.

How to fix gateway error in a View Page?

i think, something is wrong in the approach itself.
when you include the code, you do not need to create a new
instance of Hmenu. Instead, you can simply use lnkBar .addChild(),
because the this code is of your Hmenu itself.
But i suggest you to use dataprovider for the linkbar instead
of looping through the categories and adding the child.
you just declare xmlData as Bindable and provide it as
dataProvider of the linkbar.

I am pritty new in portal area. I have to administrate an ESS/MSS portal during hollydays. I am trying to find everywhere the way.
How could I find which i-views/pages are being used. Let say I can see which group I belong and which roles are behind.
How could I know in which PCD folder they are taken into account (to e.g give permission to someone not in the group)

the user administration (UME) gives you the information about the user <-> group <-> role assignment.
When you know the role, search in the PCS for it, open the role and you will see all the pages / iviews assigned to the role.

You haven't said which.
Each panel is usually just a locked object, unlock them and resize the boxes.

Use a router in your task flow and point to the page you want to display according to the value entered in the input text.

Please have BPEL loggers both at domain and system level to DEBUG mode. Set all loggers to DEBUG as you are interested to see the entire sequence flow..however, some loggers give you unnecessary info ;/ apart from cube, activation, delivery, dispatch, persistence.
Added to this, you might want to try SOAPUI, Fiddler, HTTP Analyzer.

20.0.1 Update: right-click on page shows ALL menu options, many (all?) don't work, no "view page source", no "open in new tab"

after update to 20.0.1 a few hours ago, right click shows ALL menu options, many (all?) don't work, like "view page source", "open in new tab" etc. etc.

I'm having the same issue on Firebug 1.11.3....The "more robust" right click menu does return when I disable the extension. Would you recommend downgrading Firebug to 1.11.2? Hate to have to turn off Firebug "except when I'm working" but either option seems to have both pros/cons.
This behavior happens on both PC and Mac (although the above information was tested on my PC - I'll have to check the Mac later and see if Firebug is doing the same thing there. I believe I have the most recent Firebug there, too)
The PC is on Firefox 20.0.1, Mac should be as well.
