Viewing pages in Windows on PCs 1.1 Templates

Guys--
Have you noticed that when viewing some of the new iWeb templates in EI on windows, the fonts have shadows?
When i view the pages made with the 1.1 templates ((specifically Cloud 9 with Gills Sans Ultra Bold font)) their are "clones" of the words that show up as shadows under the words.
It only happens wheni use the 1.1 templates. I have no idea what is going on here. I thought the 1.1.1. would fix it- but it didnt... Any help? Anyone.
My site is http://web.mac.com/jassebella/iWeb
if anyone wants to check it on a PC
~Jas

I read in another thread that Internet Explorer and AOL users are having issues with iWeb pages, i'm assuming that is the issue.
If anyone has any suggestions or help on this topic- please continue to post!
Thanks!

  • In the "View"-- "Page Source" window: why can't I select a portion of a URL like I used to in previous versions? If I try, the source text behaves as an active hyperlink instead. This makes copying and editing HTML a pain!

In want to copy a portion of a URL from the "View" --> "Page Source" window and paste it in my favorite text editor. This used to be a simple action with my mouse (mark portion with left mouse button, dump copy into editor window with middle mouse button). In Firefox 3.6.9, it is not plain text in the "Page Source" window but active hyperlinks (cursor shape changes) and takes me to the website of that URL, which I don't want. How can I get the original behavior (plain text page source) back?

The code taht you have shown is not the template, it is a document that has been created from a template and renamed with a dwt extension.
If you load the document into DW then go to menu item Modify->Templates->Detach from Template and save the file, you will have your original template called index.dwt and located in the Templates subdirectory.

Scrolling page doesn't work in “Fit one full page to window” view
it is still not working in V11.0.10 is there a new fix?

Not sure exactly what you mean. It may be that you have continuous view activated, rather than the page view.

  • How could I find which i-views/pages are being used

    Hello
I am pritty new in portal area. I have to administrate an ESS/MSS portal during hollydays. I am trying to find everywhere the way.
How could I find which i-views/pages are being used. Let say I can see which group I belong and which roles are behind.
How could I know in which PCD folder they are taken into account (to e.g give permission to someone not in the group)

    HI,
the user administration (UME) gives you the information about the user <-> group <-> role assignment.
When you know the role, search in the PCS for it, open the role and you will see all the pages / iviews assigned to the role.

  • How can I make my PDF open to "Fit One Full Page to Window" by default regardless of who is opening it?

Hi, everyone. I am currently creating PDFs that have different page sizes (2 pages at 8.5" x 11" and other pages that range from 40"w x 80"h to 150"w x 150"h). I'm trying to package some artwork templates and artwork guidelines together for my clients to make it easier for them to access this information.
The current issue I am running into is that I cannot figure out how to make these PDFs open with a default view of "Fit One Full Page to Window". I know how to set the default on my Acrobat Reader but I need it to default to this view when someone else opens it on their computer to view. (PDF currently opens the first page correctly but the rest of the pages are not previewing to fit page based on their page size. The only thing that reacts the way I want these documents to be viewed is the "Fit One Full Page In Window" option but I need to know how to default the PDF to view this way every time.)
Any help is appreciated! I'm under a deadline so the sooner I can resolve this the better!
    Thanks in advance!
    Jenny

There is an option for the Initial View that is "Magnification:" "Fit Page".  And this works for the initial page when the PDF is opened and it does not matter what the page size it, Acrobat/Reader will automatically fill the screen with the page. If you want the zoom type to change with each page then you need  add a page open script to each page to set the pages zoom type to "zoomtype.fitP"
    this.zoomType = zoomtype.fitP;

  • How to make Safari stop opening up with the last viewed page?

If I quit safari with "google.com", and I open it up again, "google.com" shows up.
how do i change the settings so that every time I open up safari, the homepage shows, not the last viewed page?

Close the Safari window before you quit Safari.
Or hold the shift key down when you launch Safari.
    Best.

  • Unable to set "Fit one full page to window" as scrolling default for every PDF

I am trying to retain "Fit one full page to window" as default for every PDF so that when I open a document and scroll down once, it scrolls to the next full page, rather than chunks.  I then need to manually select the option from the menu bar, after which it functions properly. When I change the Default Layout and Zoom to "Fit Page", it merely changes the zoom factor; it doesn't enable the scrolling setting.  Is this no longer an option with Acrobat X? I recall being able to do so with previous versions.
I've even tried doing this manually for each PDF by going to File>Properties and setting the initial view similarly.  This didn't work, though even if it did it would be too impractical based on how many PDFs I read on a given day.

I've been hoping for an answer to this for awhile.  There's really annoying, since one would logically think "Default Layout and Zoom" under the page display contains that setting.  Yes, it will affect the zoom, but it has no effect on whether or not the "Fit one full page to window" option is actually selected.
Every time I open a PDF, I have to click that icon, which gets super frustrating since I work with dozens of user manuals every day looking for spare parts, etc.
I really hope someone can answer this.

  • Multiple views in a window

What is the use of adding multiple views to a window when only defaulted view will be shown to the user.

    Hi Santosh,
This is used at the time of navigation from one view to another. For eg, if you need to navigate from a search result view to the overview page, then you have to assign both the views to the window. The search result view-set should be the default one. When the component is opened in web ui, by default it will load the Search Result view in the window. But as soon as you navigate from the result view by clicking on any link, to the overview page, the overview page is loaded in the same window. So multiple views are needed to be assigned.
Please let me know if you have any further doubts in this.

    Rachna

How do I view a page of ,psd thumbnails in Windows XP Pro ??   I'm using PSE 7.

If you mean viewing thumbnails in Windows Explorer, because Adobe refuses to do the right thing and supply the necessary file, you need to use a 3rd party application:
    SageThumbs is free:

    FastPictureViewer is reasonably priced:

  • Every time I try to open a new web page a window pops up saying the certificate for the page is invalid?? It won't let me on my emails or Facebook

Every time I try to open a new web page a window pops up saying the certificate for the page is invalid?? It won't let me on my emails or Facebook

This could be a complicated problem to solve, as there are several possible causes for it.
Back up all data, then take each of the following steps that you haven't already taken. Stop when the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
    From the menu bar, select
               ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Date & Time
Select the Time Zone tab in the preference pane that opens and check that the time zone matches your location. Then select the Date & Time tab. Check that the data and time shown (including the year) are correct, and correct them if not.
    Check the box marked
              Set date and time automatically
if it's not already checked, and select one of the Apple time servers from the menu next to it.
    Step 2
Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
If the problem is not reproducible in safe mode, then it's caused by third-party "anti-virus" or "security" software. If you know what that software is, remove it as directed by the developer after backing up all data. If you don't know what it is, ask for instructions.
    Step 3
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/Keychains/SystemCACertificates.keychain
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
              Services ▹ Show Info
from the contextual menu.* An Info dialog should open. The dialog should show "You can only read" in the Sharing & Permissions section.
    Repeat with this line:
    /System/Library/Keychains/SystemRootCertificates.keychain
If instead of the Info dialog, you get a message that either file can't be found, reinstall OS X.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Open a TextEdit window and paste into it by pressing command-V. Select the line you just pasted and continue as above.
    Step 4
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
In the upper left corner of the window, you should see a list headed Keychains. If not, click the button in the lower left corner that looks like a triangle inside a square.
In the Keychains list, there should be items named System and System Roots. If not, select
              File ▹ Add Keychain
from the menu bar and add the following items:
    /Library/Keychains/System.keychain
    /System/Library/Keychains/SystemRootCertificates.keychain
Open the View menu in the menu bar. If one of the items in the menu is
              Show Expired Certificates
select it. Otherwise it will show
              Hide Expired Certificates
    which is what you want.
From the Category list in the lower left corner of the window, select Certificates. Look carefully at the list of certificates in the right side of the window. If any of them has a blue-and-white plus sign or a red "X" in the icon, double-click it. An inspection window will open. Click the disclosure triangle labeled Trust to disclose the trust settings for the certificate. From the menu labeled
              Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
    select
              no value specified
Close the inspection window. You'll be prompted for your administrator password to update the settings.
Now open the same inspection window again, and select
When using this certificate: Use System Defaults
Save the change in the same way as before.
Revert all the certificates with non-default trust settings. Never again change any of those settings.
    Step 5
Select My Certificates from the Category list. From the list of certificates shown, delete any that are marked with a red X as expired or invalid.
Export all remaining certificates, delete them from the keychain, and reimport. For instructions, select
              Help ▹ Keychain Access Help
from the menu bar and search for the term "export" in the help window. Export each certificate as an individual file; don't combine them into one big file.
    Step 6
    From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences... ▹ Certificates
There are three menus in the window. Change the selection in the top two to Best attempt, and in the bottom one to  CRL.
    Step 7
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    /var/db/crls
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
A folder named "crls" should open. Move all the files in that folder to the Trash. You’ll be prompted for your administrator login password.
Restart the computer, empty the Trash, and test.
    Step 8
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    open -e /etc/hosts
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in the same way you launched Keychain Access.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting. A TextEdit window should open. At the top of the window, you should see this:
    # Host Database
    # localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
    # when the system is booting.  Do not change this entry.
    127.0.0.1                              localhost
    255.255.255.255          broadcasthost
    ::1                                        localhost
    fe80::1%lo0                    localhost
If that's not what you see, post the contents of the window.

  • 'View Page Source' option not appearing for any of the pages

    Hi All,
I'm using FireFox 12 on my Win-XP machine. I am unable to see the option 'View Page Source' for any of the pages. I tried both right clicking on the page + wandering around 'Tools/WebDeveloper', 'Tools/Options' and 'View/..' etc., but couldn't find a solution. Please help me !!
    Thanks in advance.

You should see them via these methods:
*Firefox > Web Developer > Page Source
*Tools > Web Developer > Page Source (Ctrl+U)
*Right-click on a web page to open the context menu and select View Page Source
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Error in Org View page, due to Organization lookup change in CreateUser form

    Hi *,
I have added a user defined field to the Organization creation form. Then, I want to display this in the Organization lookup window. (i.e. when we click on the Organization field lookup image on the Create User form, the lookup we are getting). Then, using the following procedure (Re: Add new column to the Organization Lookup on Create User page I was able to achieve it.
    1. Create a lookup of field type with the field name being your UDF, and the lookup name like Oraganizations.Country.
    2. Change your display columns in the post you made to be Organizations.Country.
    3. Update your xlWebAdmin_en_US.properties for whichever country you are using and in the section "LOOKUPFIELD column headers" add an entry of "lookupfield.header.organizations.country=Country"
    4. Restart your oim and it should display it now.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
But, after doing that, i'm getting a system error when trying to view the Organization details.
    "2009-11-25 06:14:19,873 ERROR http://XELLERATE.WEBAPP Class/Method: tcManageOrganizationAction/viewOrganizationDetails encounter some problems: {1}
    Thor.API.Exceptions.tcColumnNotFoundException
    at Thor.API.tcMetaDataSet.getStringValue(Unknown Source)"
But, when i delete the newly added lookup (i.e. Organizations.Country ) from the oim lookups, Organization details view page works again.
Could you please give me a solution for this......
    Appreciate your previous instructions....
    Regards,
    Chaturanga

Well I found a solution to it. It looks interesting. Do the folllowing to get rid of it:
    - Just Create another lookup with 'Field' and 'Code' equal to the field name of your UDF. eg as follows:
    Code - ACT_UDF_COUNTRY
    Field - ACT_UDF_COUNTRY
    Field type - Selected
    Required - Not Selected
Group - Organizations (any arbitrary value)
This may be required because by defining the field (lookup) for this UDf we are actually assigning it a metadata column code.
Example if you try to Print the ResultSet returned from 'findOrganizations' API, then the column name returned is 'Organizations.Country' irrespective of 'ACT_UDF_COUNTRY' which would be a usual case with any UDF. So we need to create another lookup to redefine this name back to the UDF column name. It will do the required for you.
    Thanks
    Sunny

  • Making "fit one full page to window" default

I always like to view documents one full page at a time.  Is it possible to set  "fit one full page to window" as the default view?

For the original question, you can go to Edit>Preferences>Page display>Default layout and zoom an in the "page layout" drop-down select "Single page".
If that doesn't work, someone could have added opening preferences at document level using Adobe Acrobat.

See [[Firefox keeps opening many tabs or windows]]
You can have infinite tabs opening if you have selected Firefox as the application to handle a file if you get an ''Open with'' download window.
Firefox should not be selected as the application to handle a file and you have to remove the action that is associated with that file type.
You can delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/mimeTypes.rdf mimeTypes.rdf] in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] to reset all actions or set that action in Tools > Options > Applications to 'Always Ask'.
