Viewing photos an apple tv from mac

I just bought apple TV. All my photos are sorted in folders in Lightroom. The photos in my picture folder are not in folders.
On Apple TV I can only access "photos" which goes directly to my picture folder. How can I access my Lightroom Folders on Apple TV.\?

You need to go into iTunes - File - Home Sharing - Choose photos to share.

how to view photos on apple tv in photo stream that are on my i phone and mac ???

Photo stream on the Apple TV should work just fine, providing you have logged into your iCloud account using the photo stream settings on the Apple TV. Could you perhaps provide some information about the problems that you are encountering, so that we might help you better.

  • What are the options for viewing photos with Apple TV 2?

I have an old Apple TV, and load the family photos on the Apple TV itself. On the Apple TV 2, I know you can connect to MobileMe and Flickr.
Aside from MobileMe and Flickr, are there other options for viewing photos on the new Apple TV? Can you stream them from a Mac, or can you stream them from an iPhone/iPad?
If so, how is this initiated from the Apple TV, Mac, or iPhone/iPad?

You can stream from a Mac via itunes selection (iPhoto events or a folder) - it has 8GB of solid state temporary storage, but quite how things are cached/flushed from here is a bit of a mystery - you cannot say designate 2GB to hold photos or prioritise photos over other material.
Even rentals seem to flush if you've watched them and they haven't expired - relative fell asleep during a rental yesterday so i suggested she watched it today and it downloaded from scratch again, and the AppleTV hadn't had anything but music playing in the interim. Silly this really. There's a post on another section where someone used 17GB of their data allowance to watch a HD movie as it kept reloading!
Yes you can stream photos from iPod/iPad using Airplay, but to be honest i don't think ATV2 offers that much over ATV1 for photos (yet anyway), and in some ways it's inferior.
ATV2 is far more responsive/uses less power etc but I'm not convinced you get anything groundbeaking unless you have a lot of guests who could use it via Airplay from their iphones (and with ipads currently without cameras, photos would have to come from somewhere else in the first place).

  • How can I view photos in apple tv

I had a PS3 and could view all my files on my macbook pro..  bought apple tv - thinking it was superior...  but I can't seem to access my photos in iphoto when using my apple tv...  ???  Is it not possible to view photos from my macbook pro while using my apple tv???

One edit to the location in iTunes -- as of today and iTunes 11.0.2, you need to go to:
iTunes | File | Home Sharing | Choose photos to share ....
and select the appropriate folder, then click the "Apply" button.

  • Can't view photos or stream videos from websites on iPad 3

When I go to a website with safari, I can't stream video or view photo galleries.  It tells me that I need adobo flash player.  That is not supported for this device.  How do I see photoographs or stream video from websites??

Jenpre.... keep your head down in that hurricane, and good luck. I hope it moves away soon for you all.
When I say "more modern", from what I've read many sites recognise that Flash can be a problem on mobile devices (phones and tablets) because it's very power hungry. So, if I understand things correctly, many sites are putting up html5 versions, which is supposed to be much easier on computers / devices. Quite oftne when I go to a site on my iPad it auto-diverts to the "mobile" version of the site, and I haven't found a single case where I can't see a video. To be truthful, even if not directed to a mobile version, I don't have much trouble with any of the sites I visit..... I can see most videos and pretty much all graphics, the same as I can on my Mac, which does run Flash.
Still, I'm sure a computing expert will know much more.
    Good luck in that hurricane....
PS... there are quite a few good hurricane tracking Apps you know....

  • I can't view photos in the cloud from my iPhoto. Any one else have this problem?

I cant view photos from iphoto in the cloud.
I have turned on icoud in iphoto but nothing appears in the cloud.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    David Winters

Do you mean at icloud.com you can't see your photos?  If so then that's normal.  They are only viewable on Macs running iPhoto 9 or later and on mobile devices running iOS 7.
So where are you not seeing the photos and what system and iPhoto versions are you using?

  • How to send a message(apple event) from mac os to our application

on developer.apple.com i found a method which opens a given documetns through an apple event.
my question is how to send open document event from mac to our application on xcode

Assuming you're using Cocoa, the simplest solution is to call -[NSWorkspace openFile:withApplication:]. Example:
    NSWorkspace *ws = [NSWorkspace sharedWorkspace];
    NSString *appPath = [ws absolutePathForAppBundleWithIdentifier: @"com.apple.textedit"];
    [ws openFile: @"/path/to/file" withApplication: appPath];

  • Unable to view photos burned to DVD from Elements 11

I burned some photos (jpg and tiff) from Elements 11 to a DVD.  When I tried to open the disc on the same computer, it didn't show any files.  However, PSE.VolInfo.dat showed on DVD.  I tried to open with Windows Explorer and with Photoshop Elements.  When I put that same DVD in a different computer the pictures are all listed and open fine.  I am wondering why no files are showing and why  I can't open the pictures on the computer I used to burn them with and where the PSE.VolInfo.dat came from?  How can I burn the photos to a DVD and be able to open them?  Has anyone experienced this type of problem?  Burned them to a CD also and experienced the same problem.

Well since nobody here responded, I called Verizon Tech Support directly.  I was instructed to remove the battery while leaving the power on (that's important--do NOT power off!).  Then depress the power button in succession twenty (20) times.  Replace the battery cover and power up as normal.  All fixed!!!    Thanks to "Julius"  at VZW.  Obviously, this is some type of reset sequence for the Charge.
Depress the power button 20 times with the battery still out or after putting the battery back in?

  • Photos not deleting images from mac

    Hi All,
OK, so the issue is that I have taken some photos on my iPhone and these have synced to my Mac and iPad using iCloud Photo Library as expected.  However I then deleted these photos from iCloud Photo Library using my iPhone and they can no longer been seen in the iCloud Photo Library, or in Recently Deleted (as this has been emptied).  However they are still on my Mac's local hard drive.  If I try to import them on my Mac I get a message asking if I would like to import the duplicate photo(s), but I cannot find them anywhere in the library.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do to get rid of these images from my Mac?
    Cheers
    Graham..

They may be filed away in a Moment with an incorrect date - have you tried the search field to search for a part of the filename?
You already tried to repair the Photos Library, right?
Then it may be a problem of corrupted preferences files:
The Photos.app stores the preference settings in a file in your hidden User Library.  If this file has become corrupted, you can see all kinds of problems with the graphical user interface - missing menu items, invisible photos, etc.
To remove this file, do the following.
Quit Photos, if it is running.
Reveal your user library and delete this folder:  ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Photos/
To reveal the hidden User Library:
Bring the Finder forward by clicking on the Desktop or the Finder icon in the Dock.
Select your user/home folder (with the house icon in the Finder sidebar)
With that Finder window as the front window, press the key combination ⌘J to bring up the View options.
In the View options panel enable ’Show Library Folder’. That will make your user library folder visible in your Home folder.
Open your Home folder, then the Library folder, then Containers.
Move the complete folder com.apple.Photos to your desktop. Move the entire folder, not just the contents.

  • Can't view photos saved on cd from iPhoto 06 in iPhoto 08

When I insert a cd with photos saved from iphoto 06, iphoto 08 opens but the disc wont load in the application and just keeps "spinning" in the internal drive. Have tried it with different cds with iphoto 06 pictures with same result. Any ideas? (The drive does work properly with other discs for other apps.)

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You did burn those disks with iPhoto's Share->Burn menu option, right? Are you able to view the disks on the desktop via the Finder? If not and you have access to another computer, try them there. It they can't be opened by another computer then the disks have been damaged somehow or the burning was corrupted.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Viewing camera roll on ipad from mac

When my ipad is connected to my mac is there a way to just view images on the camera roll, not to include all imported photos as well?
I have 4400 images on the ipad and only 126 in camera roll on ipad.  I want to be able to just import the 126 photos in the camera roll to the mac (I've just moved these from ios iphoto).
I tried various options in the view menu but there doesnt seem to be anything that enables a sort?
At the moment I'm having to go to the respective dates and to select images.  Is there an easier way.
    Veronica

Veronica, do you only want to view the photos on your Mac or archive them in full quality on the Mac?
The "Shared Photo Stream" suggested by Old Toad  is great for browsing the photos, viewing and sharing, but it will compress the photos slightly and not transmit at the full resolution. If you want to download them in full resolution from the Camera Roll, to archive them finally on your Mac, you could try to save selected photos to iTunes:
Save photos to your computer using iTunes
Connect your iOS device to your computer.
Select a photo, album, event, or journal and tap the Share icon  > iTunes.
If you selected an album or event, confirm or change the photos you want to share:
Select all the photos in an album or event: Tap All.
Select a range of photos: Tap Choose Photos, tap Range, tap the first and last photos in the range, and tap Next.
In iTunes, select your device  icon (below Devices) and click Apps at the top of the window.
Below File Sharing, select iPhoto (in Apps).
Select the Shared Photos folder under iPhoto Documents.
Click Save To and select the location on your computer where you want to save the photos.
To view your photos, go to the Finder and look in the location you selected above.
