Viewing Picasa Web Albums on Apple TV

I have pictures on both Flickr and Picasa Web Albums. I want to be able to view them both through my Apple TV. Flickr works fine, but I can't find a way to view the Picasa Web Albums. Please don't tell me that Apple TV can't do this simple task. Any suggestions?

This is the iPhoto forum - are the photos in iPhoto?
If not then you probably should ask in the Apple TV forum - http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1185

no-one here will know, but seeing as apple and google aren't exactly best of buds at the moment i can't see it happening.

  • How to send iPhone photos to Picasa Web Albums

This may be old news, but I came across this today and thought others would find it useful. Here's exactly how to send iPhone photos to Picasa Web Albums...no 3rd party apps or downloads required!

    Enjoy!

You can upload directly to Facebook or Flickr by going to the photo on your phone and while viewing it, tap the upload button (square with an up arrow) at the lower left of the screen.

  • Is there anyway to import picasa web albums' photos to photostream?

I need to organize my photos somehow and I guess I'm going with Apple due to 48,000 songs in iTunes. Google Music sucked. I have a *hitload of photos on Picasa Web Albums, Flickr, Windows, FB, who knows where else, I'm not even sure I know. Anyone have a good idea how to get started organizing them in one place so I don't pay storage fees to more than one outfit. I like Picasa Web Albums better than Photostream I'm not even sure I undestand photostream but I have way to much music in iTunes for Google Music and I'm not going to mess with that. One of you smart folks help me out a little?
    Thanks!

Thanks for that info. We don't really share the photos so much as store them. We don't want to lose them as we don't have albums like our parents did we only have digital photos. Does Apple have a service for this? I take it photostream is more for linking up your phone with you laptop? This whole photo organizing thing is taking up too much of my time. I want to snap the photo with iphone and know that it will forever be stored somewhere I can get to without much trouble.....What is the best service for that...????   Thanks!!!!!

  • Lost my iPhoto to Picasa Web Albums upload plugin

I upload my iPhoto albums to Picasa Web Albums. I had an upload plugin that made it easy...click file, export. Then the app would appear, which allowed me to name the album, select the phoro data level, include the metadata, and even offered color coded options of who would have access to view the album (public, invitation only, Picasa members only) The plugin disappeared. Where can I replace it?

Well that plug-in was made by Google and they haven't updated it in years. Here's a possiblr alternative:

  • Why can't I install Picasa Web Album Uploader?

I'm trying to install Google's Picasa Web Album Uploader plug-in for iPhoto. Everytime I try to install it, I get this message:
"The application install Picasa Web Albums Uploaders has unexpectedly quit."
Does anyone know what I can do?

    duffman, welcome to Apple Discussions.
The download page shows these requirements:
    Requires Mac OS 10.4+
Supports iPhoto 4,5,6 and iPhoto '08 (version 7)
Your profile shows you are using Panther 10.3. That's the problem.

  • How do I export photos from iPhoto to Picasa web albums?

I have my photos stored on iPhoto, but can no longer export them to my Picasa (Google+) web albums.
Apple have removed the upload option to Picasa from within iPhoto, and Google's uploader software most online forums talk about is no longer available, so I'm stuck!
    Many thanks!

You can export from iPhoto to the FInder and upload from there.

has details of the options in the Export dialogue.
BTW: Apple removed nothing. They updated their application to 64 bit and Google haven't bothered to update their plug-in in years. Why they haven't is something you'll need to ask them.

  • Picasa Web albums: doesn't display all uploaded photos. This only happens on my desktop computer. All photos displayed on my laptop.

Not all of my uploaded photos display in my Picasa web album. All the photos upload, but 17 out of 90 photos don't display. Some are landscape, some are portrait. This is no pattern to what doesn't display (e.g., not every third photo). This only happens when I use my desktop computer. When I use my laptop, all uploaded Picasa web album photos display.

  • Picasa Web Album Playback Error

I used QuickTime Pro to edit .mov files from my camera. No problems with playback in QuickTime or in Picasa resident on my machine, but when I upload the edited files to Picasa Web Album, the audio track is out of sync with the video or worse. In fact, the file plays some audio that was aligned with deleted frames from the video then loses audio at the back end. In some other files the audio is trashed where the video is edited (multiple videos combined) - plays noise.
I know that the Picasa Web Album uses an Adobe player for video files. Is this a known problem with the Picasa player? Should I report it to the Picasa site? And does anyone know if there is a fix?
    Thanks much,
    Rich

For the record, I found that you need to export the file to save it again. Even then, Picasa still can have problems - I frequently got a blank screen with a message: "This video is currently not available. Please try again later." Even after several days, the message would still be there so I think it is code for a malfunction in the upload. Some files wouldn't take so I exported to .AVI format. The preferred format is MPEG-4.

  • Picasa web album uploader plug in

Iphoto version 8.0 = when I try to open the export option the program start looking for Picasa web albums and is stuck in a loop that it cannot be stopped even with force quit.
Tried to trash all the Picasa plug ins and preferences I could find but iphoto keeps doing this.
    Any suggestion?
    Thank you

Go to your applications folder and right click (control click) on the Photo Applications and select the get info option - scroll down the info window to the plug in sections and uncheck the Picasa plugin

  • Photoshop Elements 9 and Picasa Web Albums

I see in Photoshop Elements 9 a number of sites you can upload directly to (facebook, flickr, etc.). I don't see Picasa Web Albums in the list. Is there a way to configure this to work, even if there is no "direct" way by means of a button? Like, can you upload to it using the Online Album section, or is that only for photoshop.com?

You could look at a cloud client for your pc which maps cloud storage as a mapped drive
then export directly to it. I've been experimenting with gladinet http://www.gladinet.com using Microsoft Live and Picassa web as the cloud services. I've had some success with Microsoft live although it appears that the export process writes a temp file then renames it but the rename didn't work so I had duplicate image on MS Live. I has less success with Picassa, I had to export to a local folder then drag them into the mapped Picassa web folder. I think this was also a temp issue. The error i got was that Picassa would only accept specific fie extensions. I think this was trying to write .tmp files.
I have a couple of more things I want to try, I want to try exporting in original format, not converting to jpeg (this may fix the problem of writing temp files first). If this doesn't work the next thing I will try is to use a local dump folder and schedule a scripted to Picassa via the gladinet mapped drive.
I hope that has given you some ideas in how to get data into Picassa web,
    RW

  • Elements and Picasa Web Albums

    Hi everyone,
Although I suspect the answer to this question will be no, is there a way to upload photos from within Adobe Elements 8 to the Picasa Web Albums?  I've been using the Picasa/Google web albums for a while and have an account with them and plan to continue using it even though I just ordered Adobe Elements for its more robust editing features.  I know I can always organize and edit pictures from Elements and then launch Picasa to upload the pictures, but if there was a way to also do the uploading from within Elements, that would be perfect.
    Thank you,
    Vroma

No, unfortunately. You will need to export the photos, then upload.

  • Make Picasa Web Albums tags from iPhoto keywords

Anyone know why the "Make Picasa Web Albums tags from iPhoto keywords" option does not seem to work? I expected to see the keywords I added to my photo in iPhoto also in Picasa on the web after they have been uploaded.
Downloaded and installed "Picasa Web Albums Uploader" version 1.3.1.680 from Google. Then from within iPhoto did a File > Export. The above option is shown on the "Picasa Web Albums" tab. I am using iPhoto 09.
Thank you very much for your help.

For help with the Picasa Web Albums Uploader, best to seek advice from the makers, after all, no one knows it better than they do.
