Viewing Purchases on Apple TV

I purchased a movie through iTunes, and have it downloaded to my MacBook Pro and iPod Touch. I can view the movie on my iPod Touch and use AirPlay to transfer to the Apple TV, but if I try to view the movie directly from Apple TV under Purchases, it's asking me for a 4-digit password. Tried everything that I thought it could be. Is there a default for this?

...and apparently this is only on the 2nd generation Apple TV. I can view it on the 3rd generation no problem.

I have purchased several shows while viewing my family TV and through Apple TV. I can replay those purchases on my family TV no problem (through Apple TV), however I cannot seem to find where those purchases reside so that I may view them on my computer workstation, or other Apple devices. I have iCloud but there is no listing of purchased content there, nor are those purchases listed in iTunes. I thought if content is purchased through Apple TV that it should be available to other devices.

Your daughter is too young to have an Apple ID because the minimum age is 13 years old. You can use her email address for FaceTime and Messages. You add the address as the contact address when you activate both of those apps. But both apps will still have to be tied to your Apple ID.
I was managing 5 different devices with one iTunes library and all devices had their own unique content on them. It is not that difficult to manage.

I Press the link it gives you to view purchase history and when I have to sign in with my apple ID it says can't connect to iTunes store. It's done this for weeks now and is bugging me as I need the info on it to retrieve a game account. I'm on an ipad air

There's an issue currently that a lot of us are experiencing in that we all get the error message "iTunes is currently unavailable; please try later"
It's an issue with Apple and we're awaiting an update re this
I've posted a topic in regards to this after having a long conversation with Apple support this morning and will be receiving a call from their tech team tomorrow to run through it further
As it stands iTunes cannot be accessed via ATV's and nor can it be streamed via AirPlay from iTunes to the ATV
However I can access all films/iCloud content via my Mac Mini with no issues!

Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.

I want to purchase the apple ios developer subscription for $99.00, however during the signup I also selected MAC subscription. I wish to change this to ios only but the signup process will not allow me to remove MAC dev subscription from my cart and is forcing me to purchase nothing or purchase both. If you bought it directly from Apple as unlocked it should be unlocked for all networks. There are phones sold that WILL lock to the first carrier it is used with, but this does not apply to phones where the receipt says "unlocked".

Go to your iPhone, then open App Store. Then scroll to the bottom to Account. Sign In to View your Account. Then go to Payment Information. Enter your credit card / debit card.
Note using your debit card starts to liquidate your checking account versus using your credit card. It's highly recommended never to use this approach on an online system.
You may also go to your local store and see if they sell Apple Gift Cards which is your safety net.

Not going to happen the way you want it to.
When you add a gift card balance to the Apple ID, it's available for the Apple ID.
Probably best to create unique Apple ID's for each... this will also make things easier in the future as purchases are eternally tied to the Apple ID they were purchased with.

Can not get shows "Purchased on Apple TV" in iTunes to show up on Apple TV

Hi - Ugg! To try and make this all work I deleted and re-added Apple TV to iTunes. I now can not get any of the shows that have been transferred to my laptop (which I did not want in the first place) to show up on the Apple TV.
All the shows that I bought now live in iTunes under "Purchased on Apple TV" but are not showing up on my Apple TV.
When I go to sync it wants to move the few shows I have left on my Apple TV over and I can't get it to not do this.

Control-click the movies in iTunes, reveal them in the Finder, move them over as you would any other file, and drag them into the open iTunes application window. Rented movies won't play if moved this way.

I recently migrated my MacBook from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8, using the Snow Leopard CD I purchased from Apple. Since then I have noticed a strange ozone smell coming from the MacBook in the area where the hinges are to open and close the unit. I was told by Apple that it probably is not serious and is coming from the fans in the MacBook. It is true that the smell/odor is more intense when the fans are working. Apple said I should take the MacBook to an Apple Store to have the hardware checked out. Everything seems to be working correctly. I am backing up automatically wirelessly to a Time Capsule, which I had not done until recently, although I had purchased the Time Capsule in 2009. I have not noticed this odor before. Does anyone suspect something more serious that may be going on?

You may be smelling it because with the new OS the processor is having to work harder causing it to get hotter then it would with the other OS. I can't say there is nothing wrong, but what could be happening is just that, it's getting hotter so the fan is spinning faster and moving more air so you are getting more of the smell then you would before. I would still continue to back it up, and take it to the Apple Store at a Genius Bar and have them look at it to make sure. Was the computer ever in a smoky environment??
