Viewing .svg thumbnails in Bridge CS5.5

I need to organize a large number of .svg files I have in folders.
I opened Bridge and found it only shows an icon for the .svg files instead of a thumnail of what the file looks like.
This is very frustrating.
Is there a way around this? A way I can get a thumbnail of the file to show like it does with .eps and .ai files?
Thanks!
BL

Hi - This is a good question - I have it too.
SVG is indeed listed in the "File Type Associations" in Bridge. I have a slew of images save from Illustrator CS5 in SVG format.
Is there any way to gain thumbnails for those files in Bridge?
Thank you!

  • No Thumbnails in Bridge CS5

I have no thumbnail previews Bridge CS5, just empty boxes.

    I have installed cs5 extended.
bridge will not create thumbnails for my RAW images from the canon t2
    1/550
the newest RAW plugin update is dated April 21, the RAW plugin which installs with CS5 is dated April 3 I believe??
I downloaded the April 21 RAW update and replaced the RAW file formats that came with CS5, with the latest as directed on the Adobe Website.
Now bridge will not create thumbnails for any RAW files from the Canon 40D on up
Photoshop will open all RAW files fine including all supported as of April 21, including all RAW formats supported with the RAW file format updates from April 21,
and the RAW converter works fine, and saves the T2i CR images in DNG format as well.
However nothing works in Bridge, and and cannot import using bridge and convert to DNG simultaneously.
Is there a fix for bridge and this problem?
    Thanks

  • Script to view SVG files in Bridge?

Is there a script to view SVG files in Bridge? I have to compare 55k images converted from eps to svg.

Very grateful for your response and time.
The Application I am talking about can be found when you open up a NEF file in Bridge and look at the Metadata tab on the right. Within that is the File Properties tab and the Application Ver. is the 3rd item from the top (after Filename and Document Type).
Yes, I do have only the one ACR file (Camera Raw.8bi.) in the program file/COMMON FILE/Adobe/plug ins/cs3/file formats.
I have also realized (brilliantly late in the game) that it is only the NEF files shot from my new D300s that do not work. No problem with the NEF files shot with my D100. So this leads me to conclude that my Bridge/Photoshop CS3 does not support the Camera Raw 5 that seems to be required for the D300s. Argh.
By upgrading my camera equipment, I have outmoded my requisite software.
I must say, that the recent post advisory on the forum site ("Raw files appear as icons") was supremely timely. While this does not solve my problem, it did help me understand the compatibility issues with the D300s and CS3. I have learned the following: D300s are supported by Camera Raw 5.5 which does not work with CS3. Is this correct?

  • Can't view Powerpoint 2007 thumbnails in Bridge CS5 (Win 7)

I can view 2003 (win) files (saved from Powerpoint 2007) as thumnails in Bridge, but thumbs for 2007 files (*.pptx) are not generated.
    Any ideas?
    Windows 7
    Bridge CS5.5 (4.1.0.54)

I have seen screenshots with PPTX thumbnails visible. I believe these Bridge thumbnails appear on WinXP installs so I'm thinking there is a Win7 aspect to this...
Using a Mac with CS6 I tried a pps, ppt and a pptx file and all of them only show as Powerpoint icon and none have a thumbnail with preview of the content.
Also tried it with Apple Keynote, the Mac PP equivalent and here I checked the option to include a preview of the file but same result, just an icon of Keynote application.
Looking at the file type associations their is neither support for Powerpoint not Keynote so it does not seem possible.
The screenshot from your memory is probably manipulated or you suffer from good memory like we all seem to do every now and then...

  • Why do thumbnails in Bridge CS5 open in CS3? How to fix?

I have both CS3 and CS5 installed on new computer running under Windows 7. I do not want to uninstall CS3 until I fully understand CS5. The problem: When I click thumbnail image in Bridge CS5, the image appears in CS3. I have gone to 'preferences' and tried to figure out how to fix this problem; also looked via windows 7 control panel at default settings;  also tried to follow previous discussion on similar problem -- all without success. Help will be much appreciated.

CS5 and CS3 to both independant programs and should not interfere with each other.  I would recommend you do not uninstall CS3 as that frequently causes massive file association problems.  However, only one program can be active at the same time.
CS3 and CS5 use sepearte cache, so there is no cross association.  What you are probably seeing is incorrect file association.
While in CS5 go to edit/pref/file type associations and see what the default is set to.  You want it to be CS5.  Might click on the radio button at bottom to reset all if that is the problem.

  • Viewing Raw thumbnails in Bridge

I've just installed the trial version of Elements 8 on my Imac (Mac OS X version 10.6.3). I come from the PC world, so I'm kind of new at the MACs.
I shoot RAW files with my Nikon D5000.
When I upload them into Bridge, I can't see their thumbnails. I've checked my RAW preferences and it's 5.0, which I believe is the wrong version.
So I followed the upload directions to to upload the latest version of RAW. When that completed I had a folder called AdobeCameraRaw -6.1 with 2 folders in it: AdobePatchinstaller and payloads. Neither of which do anything, nor do they match the instructions that came with the upload.
When I click on the AdobePatchinstaller I get a error message that I need Adobe Application Manager, but I have no idea what that is or where to get it.
Does anyone know about updating your RAW viewer?
    Thanks,
    Howard

    Go to http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
Change the drop-down up top to Camera RAW - Macintosh and Go
Click on the ACR 5.7 link.
On the page that comes up there is a download and instructions for various products including PSE 8.

  • Unable to view RAW thumbnails in Bridge since getting new camera

    Hi,
I have just purchased a new camera, and am unable to see the RAW file thumbnails as I would normally, when using the Photo Uploader in Bridge.
    I have Elements 8, on a Mac.
I have downloaded the latest version of ACR, 6.2, in order to recognize the new camer's RAW files.
I can see the RAW image, but only if I open it via PSE8, and not when uploading to the Mac via Bridge. The only way I can see and process the RAW image is if I open the file via PSE8. If I look in Bridge, all I can see are lots of generic thumbnail images from PSE8.
My question mainly is how do I resolve this, as I am used to being able to see all of my RAW files in Bridge, and like using Bridge.
Do I need to update Bridge separately from ACR 6.2?
    Many thanks.

    Hi Barbara,
are you saying that I will not be able to use Bridge with any RAW file taken with the Lumix LX5?
If that is the case, what are m options? I would like to be able to see the thumbnails of the photos I have taken, in a Workspace setting, but at presnt, all I can do is see an individual photo by opening it via PSE8.
This is now extremely cumbersome, and frankly a real pain.
Would there be any advantage to purchasing PSE9?
I would appreciate any help at all.
    Dokotela

  • 60D images not showing a thumbnail view in Bridge CS5..ideas?

I am having trouble seeing images in raw format from a 60D Canon in Bridge CS5. I have an iMac using OS X 10.9.4..any ideas why I can only see the white file, but can see all images in raw from 5D, 7D, 40D...etc. No updates show up as available on my computer or on the Adobe site. I just can't figure it out!
    Thanks for your help.
    -Alli

Make sure your ACR (Adobe camera Raw) plug-in is fully updated.  That camera model has been supported since Adobe Camera Raw 6.2.
DO NOT rely on the Adobe auto updater to tell you that there are no updates available.  It's totally unreliable in CS5 and earlier versions.  The Adobe updater team overseas did not get their act together even halfway right until CS6.
Go into the About Plugin > Camera Raw… menu item in Photoshop to see what version of ACR you have.  In CS5, ACR should be at version 6.7, more precisely at 6.7.1.
If you are already updated to ACR 6.2 or higher, then go to the Tools menu in Bridge and Purge Cache for the offending folder(s).

  • How can you view/work on image in CC while still viewing thumbnails in Bridge?

Just switched to CC from CS5. Cannot open an image from Bridge into Photoshop while still viewing thumbnails in Bridge. Killing my workflow by having to reopen Bridge after processing every image in Photoshop. Using two monitors. Another huge frustration: I cannot get Photoshop to open image on secondary monitor. Any suggestions? About ready to cancel subscrition and go back to CS5. Thanks!

Get Info on the file and expand the little "Preview" space in the getInfo box

  • Bridge CS5 - weird goings on with thumbnails...

Hi, I'm using Bridge CS5 and raw images from a Minolta Dynax 7D.
Initially I thought the problem was just that thumbnails weren't being updated after an edit in Camera Raw, but its a bit more complicated than that.
If I view my thumbnails through folders (explorer type view), CR changes are seen immediately in Bridge (as I would expect!).
If I view my thumbnails through a saved collection, CR changes are not seen in the thumbnail unless I then make some other change with Bridge - give/change a label or star rating for example - or switch to Folder View - or choose Clear Cache for Selection from the pop-up menu. Not only are the thumbnails not updated, if it was a first time CR edit, the icons above the thumbnail that show a CR change are not displayed either until one of the above is done.
This is so weird, please don't tell me this is by design!
I have Camera Raw version 6.3.0.79; thumbnail options are set to Always High Quality.
Thanks in advance for any help.

To keep you cache in good working order I recommend you compact the cache occasionally to get rid of the junk.
Thanks for your repsonse Curt Y, sadly it doesn't solve the problem.
I've played around with various cache settings in CR and BR and although purging it does force the thumbnails to be re-drawn in any view, subsequent changes when viewing through a Collection aren't shown. Compacting the cache appears to do nothing.

  • Hidden network drives "home" and "net" shown in folder view Adobe Bridge CS5 / Lion Problem

Updated to Mac OS X 10.7.2 Lion and got this "problem":
The hidden network drives "home" and "net" shown in folder view Adobe Bridge CS5 (unlike in 10.6 Snow Leopard).
Normally these network drives are hidden (in Finder and other Apps) - but Adobe Bridge CS5 is showing them, despite "show hidden files" is unchecked in Adobe Bridge.
Not a dramatic "bug", but it also shouldn't be a big problem for Adobe Bridge engineers to solve this. My first question to the Adobe Support was answered like: "we don't know what Apple did change, so we cannot do anything". Hmmm, are you serious?
I tried to resolve that problem by myself but failed. So, if an Adobe engineer is reading this post: perhaps Adobe Bridge is ignoring the automounter master map (that was my approach to resolve it):
    # Automounter master map
    +auto_master                    # Use directory service
    /net           -hosts                 -nobrowse,hidefromfinder,nosuid
    /home                                        auto_home       -nobrowse,hidefromfinder
    /Network/Servers               -fstab
    /-                              -static
You cannot do anything to these folders, so it is not a serious issue, but, I mean, did someone at Adobe check compatibiliy with 10.7 and ignored this issue? If so, are there an other issues ignored?
But I guess, the compatibilty update for Bridge CS5 for Lion is Bridge CS6 - to be fair: I also have to say, that in general Bridge is running okay on Mac OS X 10.7.2 (but could be better, as always;)

    Hi Curt Y,
thanks for your answer! Yes you' re right, I forgot to mention that ... before I posted here, I sent a bug report via the Apple Bug Report webpage about the issue ... of course, here are 2 parties involved.
I had a similiar problem once and I got a meesage back from Apple: "that it is a 3rd party problem, sorry" (it was about color management).
I am just a user and I often feel very strange about Apple's (topsecret) communication behaviour ... Whatever, what do I know about software engineering? - Right.
Maybe someone on this forum has an idea, because I'm afraid, thus it is not a serious bug, no one would take care about it in the next time (during my research I found an older post here on the forum about the same problem ...).
    thanks for help in advance,

  • Nikon Df Nef File Thumbnails not showing in Adobe Bridge CS5

    HI,
I am having trouble getting NEF thumbnail to show in Bridge CS5, but only from the Nikon Df. All other, older, NEF files are showing up without a problem
I have installed the latest updates (Camera Raw etc)
I would appreciate any advice on getting this to happen.
    Thanks
    BD

Ok thanks for that, at least I wont be chasing my tail.
I did install the DNG converter 8.3 but I still NEF files as a NEF icon. Any clues to what I may not be doing right there?

  • No thumbnails for some .mov files Bridge CS5

I'm using Bridge CS5 to organise some video which has been digitised from a sony camera in File Maker Pro X. My operating system is Mac OS X. I have Quicktime player 10.1 and have just checked for updates.
Some of my .mov files show thumbnails which can be watched in Bridge. Other folders just show the thumbnails as black rectangles - these can be watched in a pop up window but not directly in the Bridge preview panel.
The files were all digitised in the same way and recorded on the same camera so should be the same format.
After looking at discussions on here I have tried updating QuickTime and clearing the cache but no dice.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Claire

That is odd that if it was recorded on same camera they are different.  I do know that the thumbnail is a complex issue.  A little foggy on this as it has been awhile, but if you get a black thumb it is the way the marker of the first frame is recorded.  In some cases this shows a black frame.  Hope this gives you some clue to do a web search for the real answer.

  • Adobe Bridge CS5 Thumbnail

We are using Adobe Bridge CS5. How do you display the lens used to take the photo (70-200mm, 17-40mm, 400mm, 24-120mm, etc.) on thumbnail before editing?

In Basic there is still a lot to wish for in Bridge but in all honesty since CS4 Adobe has not shown much interest in developing it further and adding new features many wished for.
You can always add your wish for new features using the Photoshop family .com page, the more that wish the better chance it eventually get realized, but beware, don't hold your breath…
That said, while it seems logic in your workflow it is also a fact that not all lenses are capable of producing the needed metadata, nor is it standardized info

  • Can't view thumbnails in Bridge

I'm running Windows 7 (64 bit), have downloaded the most recent RAW update (4.6) for CS3.  I'm able to open RAW files and work with them---just can't view the "thumbnail photo" in Bridge---makes it difficult to view and edit files.  What am I missing??  Thanks!

If purging the cache doesn't work, the ACR plug-in (which is called Camera Raw.8bi) may be in the wrong place.
    It should be in:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS3\File Formats
There is another plug-ins folder in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\ Adobe CS3 folder. If the ACR plug-in is in there, delete it.
