How do I backup and view text messages from my iphone 4? I want to know where and how to backup and view text messages and all other personal files, including voicemail, recent calls, etc. from my iphone. Is this function in iTunes and/or does iTunes already backup this stuff when I sync?

Other programs are available which can extract text messages from the device or the iTunes created backup and then be viewed on the computer. To my knowledge, no program exists which can force backed up text messages into the device once they've been removed.

View text messages on Macbook Pro

Hi there... I just recently purchased the Macbook Pro and need help figuring out a couple things. I wanted to know how to set up the messages icon on your desktop on your Macbook Pro. Also I was wondering if it is possible to view and send your text messages from your phone on your Macbook Pro? If you could tell me how to do both I would be grateful! As you can probably tell I am a Windows user and need help figuring this out.... Thanks much!

It's called iMessage and you can only do it if you're using two different Apple accounts on your phone and Mac. As for the iMessage icon, do you want to change the icon itself or what?

i'm been using PC suite 6.85.14 from past 3 months.. everything works fine, recently new update to ver 6.86.9.0.
i start having problem reading & Send text message from PC suite. the rest just working fine. i can backup, view contacts, sync calendar & contacts.
i was thought it was because the new version might have some bug, i uninstalled this new version, cable driver, pc connectivity solution and install back ver 6.85.14.
same thing happen with error message "unable to read text message from phone", when i press new sms button, on top showing "Text message editor - no phone connected" but it is connected. i can do other things..
anyone know what is the problem??

Can't open/view Text messages

I click on a contact to read my new message(s) and my screen turns white and says "loading" and it never actually loads and shows me the new message. This happened out of nowhere tonight (nothing happened to the phone tonight) and I can still view emails and browse online. I can also still compose a text message and send it successfully. I have tried restarting the phone, I have tried shutting it off completely, cleaning it and putting it back together and trying again, but nothing is working. Please HELP.....this is driving me crazy!

I can certainly understand how important is it to be able to read your text messages! In this day and age texting has grown to outpace phone calls on cellular devices. Have you checked how much available device memory you have on the Incredible 2? If not then I would recommend making more memory available by performing the steps below:
Delete any long threaded messages from the text message inbox.
Clearing data and clearing cache on commonly used apps.
Move pictures and videos to the memory card.
Uninstall any unused apps downloaded from the Market.
Remove any anti-virus apps or task managers.
Delete any widgets that's not being used from the main screens to free up RAM.
Remove any live wallpaper from the background.
Manually stop unnecessary or unused services in settings.
Delete any 3rd party messaging apps from the device.
Once you have done the step above then retry your text to see if you are able to read the message. Also, test to see if you are able to read new text messages, just in case there is an issue with the one message that you received. If you are still unable to view the messages on your incoming text then the next step is a factory reset. I have provided a link below on how to complete a factory reset on the Droid Incredible 2.

As always, I recommend that you verify that your contacts and calendar entries are backed up on your Gmail account. You also have backup assistant to use for archiving your contacts. Once this reset has been complete then the device would need to be reactivated. This is a fairly simple process as there is a tutorial that walks you through the process. After the device is reactivated and setup, please test all voice and data services then test your incoming text messages. If you continue to have this issue then please reply to this message with your findings so I can further assist.

You can view numbers but you can not see the contents of the messages because of legal restriction, a court order is required to get a transcript copy of all text ever sent or received.

Google Voice is more of an internet phone to put it simply. You get a free phone number that you can choose from any area code you want.
You can text/call right from your browser. Calls/SMS are free within the USA and Canada.
MMS is still in beta, and SMS to/from the UK is not officially supported yet, but it has been known to work.
I recommend GV to anyone as a secondary number for in-case issues with phone loss/not working properly.

Hi, I have an iphone 4 (not 4s) my phone company is chargin me an incredible high number of text messages while I was out of the country, that was 2 months ago. I want to know if there is a way to look for messages by date and not by person I texted, because I really dont remember who do I texted or if I really texted, so I been looking around all my messages for about 2 weeks but I have lots and lots of friends so it is impossible.
Please help, how can I see messages sent and received from a specific date?

Phone company said that I was using roaming to texted so all the numbers I texted appears with the country operator numer, for example all my text messages appears like 5205280000458 as you may notice thats not an US number, is the Dominican Republic operator No. so there is no way I can "guess" who I texted, thats why I need to see my store messages by date.

I started the original restore using my wifi .... and it got less than halfway through. Some of the saved text messages came through - most did not. Not sure how to restart that restore

I've tried over a dozen times now, and it never gets past about 32% before it thinks it's completed the restore job, so most of my messages are missing.

View text messages in message box

I just got my Blackberry Curve yesterday and I'm stuck. I figured out how to separate my email messages from my text messages in the "Messages" box, however it still defaults to my email messages when I open the "Messages" box. How can I make it open up to the text message folder? (There's no "hide folder" option I can find, and when I separated the email and texts no new folder came up on my home screen.)

First, know that your SMS text message will appear in the new separate folder. You email messages will remain in the Messages folder.
Open your Messages folder > Menu > Options > General Options > scroll down to SMS and Email Inbox = Separate, and SAVE.
Now, a new SMS folder will appear on your homescreen of your device. Do you see it? Usually it defaults to the top row.
If you don't see it, on your homescreen press Menu > SHOW ALL , so that SHOW ALL is check marked. Now look again.
Still nothing? Perhaps you have moved that icon into a folder, search all folders on the homesceen such as applicaitons, games, etc.

Who can access my ATT text messages in cloud?

I use ATT smart phone. My messages go on cloud. The att account is on my uncle's name and he has the att account access. Can he access my messages from his att account?

In order to login to your messages online, a verification text is sent to the phone that the phone number is assigned too. As long as he does not have your phone if he tried to view them, you're good.

How to view text message numbers online?

Hey, I recently deleted all my messages by accident and I know I deleted some new ones, so I am just trying to find out who actually texted me. Where can I find it online? I looked on MyVerizon but I can only see my usage, but not the actual numbers...where can I find the numbers?

You do need to log into the account holders name to view that kind of usage.
Go to myverizon
Log into the account holder
Under current usage click the messaging tab
Click "view usage"
Next scroll down to "view messaging details""
Go to the desired date/time you want and get the number

We want to keep you connected while so far from home, atomarchio1! If the device is not on or set to receive messages then they will not be able to be viewed on a computer.
